Giovani Bernard Fantasy: Should You Start or Sit the Bengals RB? | Heavy.com
Joe Mixon fantasy football owners got some tough news on Friday, but we can't say it wasn't expected.
As Rotoworld revealed, the Cincinnati Bengals have ruled out Mixon for Week 4 against the Atlanta Falcons due to a knee injury.
This will be the second-straight game he'll miss.
While Mixon did get in some work on side fields during practice, the Bengals won't have him back for at least a few more weeks.
Obviously, fantasy owners don't love this situation, but if they were able to pick up Giovani Bernard on waivers, it surely helps to ease the pain.
Bernard originally popped up on the injury report this week with a thigh injury but has since been removed.
While it's all systems go for the team's No.
2 running back, the question becomes, is Bernard a must-start in Week 4? On paper, the answer certainly looks pretty obvious.
Giovani Bernard's Week 4 Fantasy Value.
In a Week 3 spot start, Bernard looked good against a solid Carolina Panthers defense, rushing 12 times for 61 yards and one touchdown.
He also caught five passes for 25 yards to round out an all-around strong fantasy day.
While Bernard received just 12 carries, there's no real cause for concern, as the only other Bengals player to get a carry was wide receiver Tyler Boyd.
The Bengals opted to go pass-heavy, but with a player like Bernard, that won't necessarily kill his fantasy value.
He's an excellent pass-catcher and saw nine targets come his way from Andy Dalton last week.
Regardless of the game flow, the 26-year-old back will be heavily involved.
Bernard's ability to haul in passes is actually a big part of what makes him such an appealing play in Week 4 as well.
On the season, the Falcons have allowed a league-high 36 receptions to opposing running backs for 255 yards and one touchdown.
For good measure, they've also given up two touchdowns on the ground to the position.
Bernard a Fantasy Must-Start in Week 4?.
It's hard to argue that you'll want to leave Bernard on your bench in any format this week.
The Falcons simply give up too many fantasy points to running backs, especially through the air.
But if you're playing in a non-PPR league, then there are a few better options than Gio this week in 10-team and some specific 12-team leagues.
Regardless, it'd take quite a bit of talent or a very loaded roster for me to bench the Bengals starting running back.
He's close to a must-start, and in PPR leagues, I'd place him in that category unless you have Alvin Kamara and Melvin Gordon (somehow) with no flex spot.

Meeple PhD Blazar Neutrino - Duration: 6:06.
Hi it's Barb - Meeple PhD - coming to you with another cosmic game connection.
This past July, the National Science Foundation announced that their IceCube Neutrino Observatory
had found a high-energy neutrino that they were able to trace back to its source,
with the help of gamma-ray observations.
That sounds like a mouthful, so let's go unpack some of it.
First of all, neutrinos are a fundamental particle - kind of like electrons and quarks
- but they don't like interacting with anything else.
In fact, they're kind of the introverts of the universe.
They travel through the cosmos at close the speed of light, not interacting with anything.
In fact, every second there are about 100 trillion neutrinos that pass through our bodies.
Every second.
Because they don't play well with others - or, in official terminology, they don't
interact with other particles - they're very hard to detect.
To overcome some of the challenges of detecting them, the IceCube Observatory uses a cubic
kilometer of Antarctic ice as the detector for the neutrinos.
They have detectors embedded directly in the ice, and they can detect when a neutrino interacts
with that ice.
But even with a full cubic kilometer of ice as the detector, IceCube still only detects
one neutrino every six minutes.
That's one neutrino out of the 500 trillion trillion that pass through it in 6 minutes!
Whew.
Not only are are neutrinos hard to detect, but it's also hard to tell exactly where they're
coming from.
You can kind of say "they're coming from over there," not "they're coming from right there."
And that's where the gamma rays come into this story.
NASA's Fermi Gamma-ray Space Telescope was monitoring the sky, as it always does, and
it happened to notice a particular galaxy in the direction that that neutrino had been
discovered had been showing a lot of excess gamma rays over the past several weeks.
And using follow-up observations with other telescopes, they were able to say, "yes, that
galaxy was the source of that neutrino."
And this is the first time that astronomers had been able to pinpoint a neutrino from
a black hole.
And, and pinpoint any neutrino source outside our immediate galactic neighborhood.
In fact, until recently, astronomers had to rely almost solely on just light that we received
from objects in the cosmos to tell us about what's going on out there.
We can't go out and sample things, except for the very, very closest objects like the
Moon or soon an asteroid.
But otherwise, we have to wait for the universe to come to us, and usually that's in the form
of light.
However, right now we are seeing the very beginning of what astronomers are calling
multi-messenger astronomy - astronomy that's done not just with light, but with other types
of signals that we're learning to detect from the universe.
In this case it was a particle.
A particle that travelled from near this black hole for almost 4 billion light years until
it hit our detectors and we said, "hey that's cool, that came from there."
Last year NSF and NASA announced that they had detected gravitational waves and light
from a pair of colliding dead stars - another example of a different pair of sources telling
us more about our cosmos than we could have known from either one by itself.
I have to say, it's really exciting time right now to be an astronomer, watching this
new field as it takes off.
Pulling this back to my game shelf, I thought about that cubic kilometer of ice down in Antarctica,
and the game that came to mind was Elder Sign, and in particular the Omens of the Ice expansion.
Elder Sign is a cooperative dice game where players take on the role of investigators
trying to prevent an Ancient One from awakening and devouring everyone on earth.
In the base game, investigators are running around a museum.
But in the Omens of Ice expansion, the investigation moves to the wilderness of Alaska.
In addition to the typical Elder Sign horrors, insanity-inducing terrors, and monsters, the
Omens of the Ice expansion adds wild animals and ice monsters, like the Yeti.
Plus, there is a storm brewing that intensifies as the game goes on.
The storm takes away your precious supplies, your sanity, your stamina.
It can add doom to the the doom track, which is the counter in the game.
It can optionally do nothing, but that doesn't happen often enough.
I've got to say that for me that storm mechanism is the thing that really drives the theme
of this game, of this expansion, home.
It really makes me feel like I am out there battling the elements as every investigation
becomes harder and harder because more and more storm tokens are being placed upon those
adventures.
And it's just this relentless force that gets worse and worse throughout the game.
And that cold feeling, that desperateness, is what made me think about the Antarctic
- even though it's on the other side of the world - but it really made me think about
the IceCube Neutrino Observatory out there in the middle of the ice.
So, the next time you pull out your Omens of Ice expansion for Elder Sign, think about
the ice on the other side of the world that's trying to detect those elusive neutrinos.

a lot of people have these things and so for 19 20 bucks and another 10 bucks for
a controller and nothing else added am I able to do Nintendo Super Nintendo Sega
Atari all that same stuff that I've been doing like on the handhelds and doing
with I have a gaming computer connected to my TV but not everybody does that not
everybody's want to build a eight hundred twelve hundred dollar computer
and have a connected TV you got a $19 device that you can
you know do all your old school stuff which is what we're all about
so if something when someone comes to your channel and they want to you know
get the games onto a fire stick about how long do with that process take them
if there's someone who's not technically inclined by following your videos maybe
half an hour that's it yeah oh my good is you know the tutorials that I make
and I do I go through step by step and I base a lot on request
to run so as you know I try to take it from the perspective of somebody that's
never emulated before and they got their fire stick to watch Netflix exactly man
I'd like to play some Super Nintendo yeah you know stuff away from it yeah
yeah so I take it from that base level not like from the level of somebody
that's been doing this a long time or somebody that's that's technically savvy
exactly just ABCD how do you get like you can have you can do everything you
need to do to this thing as far as putting emulators and the Kinect and
controller you can do everything like I say within half an hour so with the
smartphone mm-hmm so you can connect your smartphone to your fire stick same
people some people use their smartphone for their controller already right wrong
so you could use their smartphone to push those programs onto your fire stick
you don't even have to have a PC yeah no I have a laptop that's not everybody you
know not everybody does so I mean people are moving away from that stuff people
are like tablets smartphones tablets a lot of people don't even have a personal
computer anymore no you know all the gaming you need yeah and so I also
talked about gaming and you can get the girls you can obviously see mister level
by level has a high level by level wife and we're gonna talk about some of their

co-op so wheels you know if I put together like we're doing Bubble Bobble
Chinese so Bubble Bobble Fernando and it's a horror game sounds fun
yeah and then one of my Bubble Bobble videos I accidentally left the
microphone on and it's me and her talking and I'm like oh hey you need to
do this oh I got your back oh I'll get behind you and I'll shoot us there but
we were totally talking through the whole game or usually I go back and
voice over in my videos and and it's more sound that's like you know more
scripted I said no I'm gonna go with that video and so we did the video and I
just left the original audio and you can hear us
strategize working together working stuff like that so you know not only
does it have a deeper goes back to when we were teenagers and we were kids be
but even now so she's hell a channel we're having good time yeah we
sit down instead of like one of us sitting on one end of the couch you know
they're sitting on the other couch and like she's watching one her shows and
I'm playing on a tablet or something or playing some Nintendo
that's what's a gaming has the impact of keeping bonds together you're not going
to get in trouble you don't have to worry about the other spouse being out
somewhere doing something who knows what you're there together now to get you

Lindsay Lohan caused a social media meltdown on Friday night when she posted a video of herself on Instagram.
The video shows Lohan following an unidentified woman and her two children on the street and accusing the woman of child trafficking.
The actress can be heard adopting a faux accent before attempting to take the children away from the women.
"They're trafficking children… I won't leave until I take you," she tells the children.
"Now I know who you are.
Don't f*ck with me." Lohan proceeds to tell the woman that she is "ruining" Arab culture and says several different nonsensical words before continuing her accusations.
"You are taking these children," she adds.
"They want to go… I'm with you boys don't worry." Watch the two-minute video below.

Lohan Threatened to Take Away the Woman's Children.
After the woman and her children attempt to get away from Lohan, she follows them and tells them that she's capturing the entire incident on her phone.
"The whole world is seeing this right now," she says.
"I stay with you, don't worry." Lohan continues to follow the family, at one point saying "give me your hand," but the woman yells out before seemingly hitting the actress.
The camera is focused downward, so it is unclear what specific physical action occured between them. The phone appears to fall after the altercation, and Lohan turns it onto herself after the family walks away.
"I'm like in shock," she explains, visibly hiding back tears. Lohan's post exploded on Twitter, where many were baffled and shocked by her actions.

"…so Lindsay Lohan accused a possibly homeless woman of child trafficking and tried to steal her children, but got punched in the face, while streaming to her Instagram, is a thing that I am reading apparently happened in real life?" wrote one confused user.
Another tweeted: "Lindsay Lohan's IG live is one of the wildest things I've ever seen.
She's speaking gibberish in a fake accent and trying to take two homeless boys to a hotel room against their parents wishes.
Their mom pushes her to the ground and then Lindsey cries into the camera." Check out additional reactions below.
Other pointed out that less than an hour before, Lohan had been posting Instagram videos from a club, and the confusion over how she ended up walking the streets and encountering the family in question proved too much for some.
"Lindsay Lohan went from clubbing to getting punched in the face for trying to kidnap 2 refugee children….all on instagram live," tweeted a user.
"Idk why I was watching Lindsay Lohan's instagram live," wrote another user, "but one minute she was at the club, and then the next she was trying to "save" a homeless Arab family??" One user went as far as to crown it one of the most bizarre moments of the year.
"Lindsay Lohan live streaming herself chasing a homeless syrian family accusing them of trafficking children is probably the weirdest content to come out of 2018 yet.".
