today's topic is the two variable data tables and I will teach you why it is

extremely important from the point of view of valuations now think of you

performing evaluation exercise which essentially consists of the discounted

cash flows the free cash flow projections and then ultimately coming

down to the stock price so as an example here I have this Alibaba IPO discounted

cash flow valuation switch you can find this model on this Wall Street mojo com

website up here what we did was we forecasted the evaluations the free cash

flow to the firm and with the help of these two assumptions like the cost of

capital of the business and the infinite growth rates we found the adjusted

equity value of the firm or the per share value came out to be seventy eight

point two five now let's assume that in this case my assumptions were that's a

very pessimistic and you as a client want to look at some optimistic

assumptions which means that you know let's say the growth rates if they

change to 4% to infinite what we with the changes in the valuation of the

stock or the fair price of this stock or let's say the cost of capital was not 9%

it was let's say 8% what will be the valuation of this talk so this data

table which is the 2-dimensional data table helps us perform these sensitivity

analysis and helps us find the answers which are very complex in nature

otherwise so there's a way in which this two-dimensional data table is created it

has very specific format on one side you can put one set of variable which is the

cost of capital here or the weighted average cost of capital on the other

side is the other variable which you want to change that is this growth rate

so we have these two variables the WACC are the cost of capital and the infinite

growth rate that is the 3% so we want to see the

Changez of these two variables and how it affects the share price right so as I

said there's a specific way first you need to create this table like this so

you can interchange growth rate to WACC NWACC to growth it that's all right just

that you need to make a proper table also remember that you can change these

numbers too so it can be seven seven point five percent eight percent nine

point five percent twelve point five percent you know so I

would leave it to you to decide what percentages do you want to but the basic

rule which we typically as an analyst followed was to keep the one which we

have used like nine percent as cost of capital here in the middle and maybe two

increments down and two increments up this is what is the standard practice

likewise you know for the growth rate you can do that four percent or three

percent is a basic curve the midpoint so you can go two points up and maybe

through two three points below so that's that's how you can look at this WACC and

the growth rate sensitivity analysis table right now as a next step what you

need to do is you need to select this whole table starting from the top okay

so seventy eight point two five is linked to this cell here now then go to

data go to what-if analysis go to data tables now here there are two inputs

which were required so this as compared to the one variable data table you you

you may remember that in one variable data table only one input is required

but we are doing two variable data tables this means that we are trying to

change two variables at a time here WACC and growth rates so which is the row

input the row input is the one which is written in the row here that's the row

number forty nine so that's the row okay so row input needs to be linked to the

original source where is the original source the original source is written

here nine percent okay now what the column input the column input is

this one which is this column D and the where is the original source the

original sources here okay now your work is finished you just need to press ok

and what you will find is that it populates all the results which

obviously will be very difficult if you have to manually do it right so that's

why this data table on the sensitivity analysis using two dimensional data

table becomes extremely useful for research analysts and investment bankers

now how do you validate whether this is right or wrong you remember this was the

first input 9% and 3% was the second set of input C the intersection point the

intersection point is this seventy eight point two five does this answer matches

with the one which you already had earlier yes it does so this means that

your data table is working perfectly fine now another one or two important

aspects which you should also remember from this data point data tables point

of view is when you move to this extreme right or left hand side you will find

the most aggressive or the pessimistic assumptions coming in to say for example

the most optimistic assumption would be that cost of capital goes below 7

percent or it is 7 percent and the growth rate is 6 percent so the

valuation they stock here will be four hundred nine point four five per share

like why is the most pessimistic case would be eleven percent as cost of

capital and growth rate to be as low as 1 percent so we note that the this value

of the stock is fifty point one nine so this whole table is a very extremely

useful table it's generally goes into the research reports and the Investment

Banking which books for the client to understand various different kinds of

today's topic is one variable data table and we will see why it is important from

the point of view of calculating sensitivity analysis in excel

sensitivity analysis is a very important concept and we frequently use that in

various valuation models including the dividend discount model the formula here

in front of us is known as the Gordon growth formula this is nothing but a

dividend discount model where we calculate the evaluation of the stock

using constant growth so the formula here looks like a bit complex but it's

very very simple value of the stock is nothing but d 0

into 1 + g / ke minus g d0 is the value of the dividend which is received at

this year G is the constant growth rate in the dividend d1 is the value of the

dividend to be received next year and ke is the discount rate so d1 is nothing

but the dividend which is received this year multiplied by 1 + growth rate in

the dividend so if you are worried about the mechanics of this this formula you

can go ahead and look at our tutorial on dividend discount model in detail but

the context of the discussion now is about one variable or data tables so

many a times what happens is when we calculate valuations we would like to

change the discount rate or maybe the growth rate and see what's the effect on

the valuation of the stock so in that context we'll take this basic example

where we have this constant growth model price the stock we need to find out we

have been provided with the country a dividend and we are also given the

expected growth rate that's the growth rate G that's 4% and the expected return

on the cost of equity that's 10% so I'll do that right away in an excel so we

have been provided with this basic example where

currently dividend is dollar three expected growth rate is 4% and the

expected return is 10% now let's find the value of the stock on the basis of

Gordon growth formula so the Gordon growth formula essentially said that

this is a value of the stock is the dividend in the country ax x 1 + growth

rate divided by the costs of equity the or the expected return minus the growth

rate alright so this comes out to be fifty two point zero so this is the fair

value of this talk which represents the currency our dividend and there's a

dividend growth of four percent each year right so let's move forward so what

are we trying to achieve when we talk about one variable data table so let's

create something I what if the expected returns change from let's say 10% to 12%

12% 14% or maybe otherwise so how will the value of the stock shift when the

expected returns change so that's where one variable data table can be extremely

useful so let's say the expected return is 6% or 7% or we can probably create

one whole table of this and see what are the corresponding changes in terms of

valuation so as we can see here there's one variable that changes the variable

that is changing here is this expected return okay now when this variable is

changing there are two ways to find out the expected output or the value of the

stock here the first one is the donkey work obviously the donkey work is

something which we don't want to do but for argument's sake I'll just show what

it means so here it means that we rewrite the whole formula again and

again like this one plus growth rate divided by the

expected return - the growth rate alright so we get the answer as 156 but

what about the value when the expected return changes to 7% we have to rewrite

the formula again so this means rewriting the formula by only changing

one variable this is from 6% it now becomes 7% and the value changes so we

can do that again and again again and again and I don't want you to actually

do this instead I would like you to do a smart work that's called as the usage of

something called data tables to perform sensitivity analysis so here the basic

approaches and here this is very important please please listen care the

first step is when you write this variable in this standard format okay

above that please link your initial set of variable what's the initial set of

variable you said that visit at 10% what is your expected output the value of the

stock is 52 so think of this as inputs which you have to give to the table the

data table okay at 10% the value of the stock is 52 please don't write it

manually always link these are the inputs all right now choose these from

top to bottom but these as weakened as of now go to data go to what-if analysis

go to data tables all right now there are two inputs which are required now

this since this is a one variable data table you are expected to write only one

input now this is a column input because as you can see it's in a single column

so the column input is what the expected returns these returns which are changing

is the column input now this original input was written here right so that's

where you need to link it from okay so once you do that and you press ok you'll

find that all the answers which were desired are already there so

if you see inside these it gives us table bracket this is row and this is

column all right so what this data table does is it goes and sees your initial

inputs and the expected output it traces the expected output to the original

formula and recalculates and does it the same way for the other set of input

variables so that's how this one variable data table actually works you

can also do the same for the other set of variables so say for example here

there was this variable called expected return that change right here you can

also make the growth rate change and see what's the expected output so let's try

this growth rate and as you now may remember that we need to provide the

input here the input is now 4% alright and what's the output the output is $52

all right so these this is the input this is the output is the way you know

you need to create the data table now let's change this growth rates 5% 6% 7%

8% right now let's assume that this is the table that we have and we want to

see the results on these growth rates okay so first thing again you need to

choose the whole table alright go to data to do what if analysis go to data

tables so is this a row input or a column input as discussed this is the

column input because it's in a single column H all right so go there your

original input variable sits here so that's where you need to connect it from

and then press ok so you'll be blessed with the final answers and it will help

you with lot of time-saving activities

We Need Better Ethical Decision Making | Ethics and Autism - Duration: 7:37.

I recently presented on an ABA ethics panel at the ABAI conference in San Diego, so today

I'm going to get on a soapbox regarding one of the most common ethical issues I've seen

in the past two decades in the autism world.

Hi, I'm Dr. Mary Barbera, autism mom, board certified behavior analyst, and best selling

author.

Each week, I provide you with some of my ideas about turning autism around, so if you haven't

subscribed to my YouTube channel, you can do that now.

If you are a board-certified behavior analyst, you probably are aware that you need to follow

the BACB compliance code, and you need 4 hours of Type II BACB ethics CEUs every two years,

to recertify as a BCBA.

I don't know about you, but I've been to some pretty dull ethics workshops since 2003, when

I was first certified, so I recently put together a four-part ethics interview series, with

four Type II BACB Ethics CEUs, but before I tell you more about this series, I want

to tell you about one of the most common ethical issues I see, which you're probably not aware

of and probably never considered as an ethical issue before.

Let me tell you about a 200-pound teen I'll call Billy.

Billy was in a private ABA school, and the district that was funding him to go there

wanted an independent educational evaluation and an FBA, a functional behavior assessment,

which I agreed to do, because the school was concerned that the private ABA school was

asking to increase from two-to-one, two staff on Billy, to three-to-one staff, three staff

for just Billy.

I think he was about 15 years old, and he was still an early learner, not speaking at

all, and his problem behaviors included aggression and property destruction.

He also eloped from the home a few times.

I went to the home first, to evaluate Billy, and found a very distraught mother.

Billy towered over her, and they also had a younger brother who was not home at the

time.

But Mom really was frightened of Billy, and to be honest, I was kind of frightened of

Billy too, when I was in the home, because without large staff to control Billy's behavior,

it was very unpredictable what he was going to do.

I then went to his school, and what I found there was a very elaborate restraint over-correction

protocol that required a two-to-one ratio, but now it was going to require a three-to-one

ratio.

And worst of all, the data showed that this protocol appeared to be reinforcing, so the

problem behaviors were going up instead of down.

There was just a general lack of concern for what was happening at home, where it was just

Mom trying to control Billy with a younger sibling at home.

There was a failure to pair, and mand, and to conduct a verbal behavior assessment, which

I would have recommended.

And I was particularly concerned that there was no response to the current data, which

was clear, that the restraint procedure was actually leading to more problem behaviors.

Billy ended up in a residential treatment facility, and I doubt he ever lived at home

again.

And I have, unfortunately, dozens of stories like Billy's, where well-meaning professionals

and BCBAs develop protocols that are either not individualized or not created looking

at the whole child in terms of providing programming and treatments that will work in all settings,

and there's a failure to work together with families to ensure optimal treatment.

As BCBAs, we're required to work with families and other team members to thoroughly assess

and program for each child and to make data based decisions on the progress or lack of

progress for each client.

If you're using one-size-fits-all protocols or have protocols in place that aren't working

to increase or decrease behaviors, I think you should look at this as an ethical situation

and evaluate some ways to change your own behavior as a BCBA.

As I talked about a few minutes ago, I've recently created a four-part ethical interview

series, and up until now, this ethical series has only been available as part of my verbal

behavior bundle course membership, which includes all 32 BCBA CEUs.

In the ethical series, four BCBAs with ethical expertise give their advice.

Dr. Eileen Schwartz created an ethical decision-making matrix, and covers this matrix in interview

number one of the series.

So, let's talk about the matrix and how it would relate to a child like Billy.

Part of Dr. Schwartz's ethical matrix involves asking myself why Billy's situation triggers

my ethical radar.

This is triggered because Billy's safety, and the safety of his mom, brother, and staff

members, are all at risk.

It's also an ethical issue to me because of Billy's dignity, the impact of escalating

problem behaviors on his relationships, and his overall outcome.

One of the most profound things Dr. Schwartz said during her interview was that BCBAs are

spending way too much time focusing on the little things, like, "Can I accept a cup of

coffee from a client", or "Is that a gift I must decline?"

instead of looking at larger ethical issues, like ensuring that ABA treatment leads to

dignity and quality of life for our clients.

The other three individuals I interviewed included Rosemarie Griffin, who's an SLP and

BCBA, and Drs. Megan Miller and Amanda Kelly.

U.S. top diplomats comment on on-going denuclearization - Duration: 2:01.

The U.S. are confident that North Korea understand Washington's demands on denuclearization.

That's according to Secretary of State Mike Pompeo who told a senate committee that talks

with North Korea are ongoing, amid concerns that follow-up have yet to take place.

Cha Sang-mi has more.

U.S. Secretary of State Mike Pompeo has stated that contacts with North Korea are ongoing,...

with him in the lead of the communication.

However,... during testimony to the Senate Appropriations Committee on Wednesday, Pompeo

refused to give any details.

He said he was not prepared to talk about internal discussions taking place with Pyongyang,

calling it inappropriate and counterproductive,... before adding that the North Koreans would

be (quote) "watching this hearing."

The top U.S. diplomat said he was sure the regime knew the scope of denuclearization

the Trump administration is calling for.

"The North Koreans understand the scope of the request that we're making with respect

to denuclearization, and the elements that would be required.

(cut) We have been pretty unambiguous in our conversations about what we mean when we say

complete denuclearization."

Pompeo also confirmed that no remains of U.S. soldiers killed during the Korean War have

been handed over by the North, but said he was optimistic they will be "in the not too

distant future."

Meanwhile, President Trump's National Security Adviser John Bolton during his visit to Moscow

on Wednesday, had more to add on North Korea's denuclearization.

When asked whether Trump plans to attend the fourth Eastern Economic Summit in Vladivostok,

to which North Korean leader Kim Jong-un is invited, Bolton chose instead to express his

anticipation for the regime to start giving up its nuclear weapons without delay.

"I don't know the answer to that.

It's possible.

But I do expect that following the meeting in Singapore that discussions with North Korea

on the denuclearization of North Korea are going to proceed quickly.

At least it's our hope and expectation."

So today tadaa a 100 pieces sushi haul

I ordered these 'sagami' and 'odori' from Gin no Sara

and to drink I have some plum tea itadakimasu

lets kick things off with this 50 piece spread of sushi

The first one that I will eat is tuna

It's so thick and yummy I love that undescribable mouthfeel from the sushi

next up is ikura egg

They pop in your mouth And the flavor soaks right into the rice

Squid

I love the chewiness

amaebi shrimp

It's so sweet it has such a nice texture

sushi goes so nicely with wasabi

since I'm having sushi today.... I wore this matching t-shirt

I've just started telling me this and it would make me so happy if you would wear them as well

clam

It's very crunchy

salmon Such a pretty color

It's got such a nice layer of fat and is so yummy

anago eel

The meat is so tender and The sweet sauce on it tastes so nice

negitoro onion and tuna

It's so light and the tuna is so yummy

And this is one of my favorite flounder

It's so fatty and I love it so much

Yellowtail

This is also so nice and fatty as well

now for this platter that is here for a limited time this is called 'odori'

It comes with some large raw shrimp

Look at how ginormous this shrimp is

the rice is coming out of it as well

its so plump and tender

its so very tasty

The things that are the same in this dish are the fish egg tuna and onion and salmon

flounder and tuna this is salmon

This is a flame broiled large shrimp

the added flavor is so yummy

this came with ponzu citrus soy sauce

It's so sweet and yummy

It's so fresh

It's so fatty tender and melts in your mouth

last one itadakimasu this is their chutoro tuna

gochisosamadeshita The hundred pieces of sushi was so yummy

The one I liked the most was the tuna

They didn't have any Otoro tuna so the chutoro hit the spot

I also love the Flounder salmon and yellowtail

I really much prefer the fattier pieces

All of these pieces of sashimi come from things that have lived in the same ocean and

its amazing how they all have such varying flavors I totally understand how squid and clams could be different

but all the different fishes have such differing flavors

UNESCO urges Japan to let world know of Hashima Island's brutal history - Duration: 2:00.

In the first half of the twentieth century, the Japanese Empire forced hundreds of Koreans

to do hard labor on Japan's Hashima Island.

Tokyo had promised a few years ago when Hashima was designated a UNESCO World Heritage Site...

that it would tell the world about that dark period in the island's history

But it has failed to do that.

Now UNESCO has urged Japan to follow through on that promise and seek dialogue on the matter

with South Korea Kim Hyo-sun has this story.

UNESCO has urged Japan to tell the world about the brutality committed against the forced

laborers of Korea who worked on Japan's Hashima Island during its colonial rule of the Korean

Peninsula from 1910 to 1945.

The decision came at UNESCO's 42nd session of the World Heritage Committee on Wednesday,...

during which the international body reviewed the follow-up measures promised by Japan when

its 23 industrial facilities including those on Hashima Island, which is located off the

coast of Nagasaki in southern Japan, were registered as World Cultural Heritage sites

back in 2015.

Tokyo promised to inform the world about the dark side of Hashima's history.

Yet, the fortress-like island which attracts thousands of visitors annually,... is only

introduced as a coal mine that was opened in the 1940s.

And breaking the promise it made to UNESCO,... Japan dropped the word "forced" when referring

to those who worked on the island, falsely saying that Koreans provided "voluntary help."

UNESCO called for the faithful implementation of its recommendations,... while urging Japan

and South Korea to engage in dialogue on the issue.

Seoul's foreign ministry called such decision "meaningful,"... adding it will continue to

seek dialogue with Tokyo as well as the international community.

The South Korean government's report says about 500 to 800 Koreans are estimated to

have been forced to work under harsh conditions on the island,... and over one-hundred died

from malnutrition or accidents.
