Music has to tell stories.
When Brahms, Joseph Joachim met in 1853, there were that
famous meeting at the home of Schumann in Düsseldorf, where Robert Schumann
Albert Dietrich Johannes Brahms wrote those FAE Sonata to the arrival of the friend.
And I do believe that in the coming years
this impression of FAE Brahms has so internalized. He quoted
this consistently in the F minor Sonata, the quotes in the final.
And almost one might think,
that Brahms in this f-minor Sonata, 20-year-old, you have to imagine this,
sees his private life before, like a prophet.
The destruction of love, the dissolving of love, the sadness in retrospect
in the fourth set and then the first interlude in Rondo in the fifth set
FAE, free but lonely.
Later in F minor Quintet, his statement is compressed even more.
