Chelsea transfer news: Blues offer Everton £25million for wantaway Toffees star Ross Barkley
ROSS BARKLEY is the subject of a £25million bid from Chelsea. The offer for the Everton midfielder — £20m plus £5m add-ons — comes after Antonio Conte also made a £40m move for Arsenal's Alex Oxlade-Chamberlain.
Chelsea boss Antonio Conte has bid £25million for Everton star Ross Barkley.
The 23-year-old only has one year left on his current deal at Goodison Park. The Toffees originally valued Barkley at £50m, but are aware they will no longer get close to that.
They are still holding out for £30m though. Tottenham also have a long-standing interest in the England man.
And Everton will now hope they make a counter bid to drive the 23-year-old's price back up. Barkley is currently out for three months with a hamstring injury.
He is in the final 12 months of his Goodison Park contract and wants to leave.
Ronald Koeman had been hoping to sell the England international for £50m.
Everton playmaker Ross Barkley is currently out of action with a hamstring injury. Chelsea have upped their transfer business before the window slams shut at 11pm on Thursday.
The Blues have reportedly had a bid £28m accepted by Leicester for their central midfielder Danny Drinkwater. Conte has also moved swiftly to sign Eden Hazards younger brother Kylian where he will link up with their development squad.
And Chelsea still remain keen on bringing Swansea striker Fernando Llorente to West London, as the Spanish international looks to link up with his former manager at the Old Lady.
