Just an hour away from Seiyo center and its Unomachi Uwa district, is the fishing port of Mikame.
Although the fishing business is what drives the heart of Mikame, the city is also famous it's rock formation
where you can see a gorgeous display of layers of sedimentary rock (strata) that align perfectly when seen at the correct angle,
that gives the chance to people on the opposite side of the bay
to see that the whole rock formation matches the shape of Buddha sleeping on its back.

Trump's business considered Moscow deal during 2016 campaign - Duration: 2:46.
now to CNN's Monty Roger tell us what you're learning about these emails that
are now under multiple investigations mano a Brianna we are learning now that
the President on three separate occasions discussed this hotel and
condominium project in Moscow with his attorney Michael Cohen now that is
according to a report in Bloomberg in a separate Washington Post report now says
Ann in January 2016 Cohen wrote an email to one of Vladimir Putin's most trusted
aides Dmitry Peskov to know that the talks between the two over the project
have stalled and this would mark the highest level discussion between the
Kremlin official and a trump official that we know of today now the man who
was trying to broker this Moscow deal as a man by the name of Felix Seder a
Russian American businessman an associate of the president now sailor
says in a 2015 email obtained by the New York Times that quote our boy can become
president of the USA and we can engineer it saying he would get the Putin's
team's buy-in for the project now Brianna Cohen is now downplaying the
matter in a statement to CNN saying today that in late January 2016 I
abandon the Moscow proposal because I lost confidence that the prospective
licensee would bring the proposal to fruition it was a building proposal that
did not succeed and nothing more Cohen also said subsequently to CNN that he
sent an email to that Putin aide Peskov regarding the Moscow project saying it
was an email that went unanswered and nothing else and he also told
congressional investigators that that sailor actually made that recommend
recommendation to reach out to that Putin aid but Brianna all these
developments undercut the president's regular claims that there were no
business dealings whatsoever with Russia yeah they certainly do and Monti this
isn't the only email that's under review that shows an attempt to connect the
Trump campaign with Russian officials right yeah that's right Brianna last
week CNN reported about an email from a top Trump aid Rick Dearborn turned over
to the hill that showed him relaying a message from an individual from West
Virginia who wanted to set up a meeting with a Trump campaign and Vladimir Putin
now cNN has learned that the West Virginia man is a 54 year old contractor
named Rick clay who also informed GOP senator Shelley Moore Capito he wanted
to talk to the campaign about Russian contacts now clay told me that he was
simply trying to his own message from a friend who works
with Christian organized organizations who had been in contact with Russians
who wanted to discuss quote shared Christian values with the campaign
Dearborn we were told rejected the requests and said it should go through
the State Department but intelligence officials say Brianna this is a growing
practice of Russian intelligence to try to build alliances with conservative
groups to try to penetrate the political system now that's uncertain if that's
what happened here about something that investigators will have to look into
further Brianna all right Monty Roger thank you so much we have our eye

S. Korea, U.S. and Japan join in condemnation of N. Korea and calls for emergency UNSC meeting - Duration: 2:18.
The Japanese people woke up Tuesday morning to the shocking news North Korea had fired
a missile over Hokkaido.
Tokyo was quick to condemn the launch, calling it a grave and serious threat.
Together with South Korea and the U.S., they have called for an emergency UN Security Council
meeting to try and pile more pressure on the regime.
Kwon Jang-ho has this report.
Residents of Hokkaido woke up to the sounds of emergency sirens on Tuesday morning, warning
that a missile had been fired from North Korea and could hit areas nearby.
Luckily the missile was never a threat, heading way out into the Pacific Ocean.
However, it was still the first time a North Korean rocket had flown over Japanese territory
since 2012, and Tokyo was quick to condemn it, calling it an egregious threat to the
peace and stability of the Asia Pacific region.
(Japanese) Reuters 2100 "We have lodged a strong protest with North
Korea to that effect.
I call for an emergency meeting of the United Nations Security Council... and we will demand
even stronger measures against North Korea."
Abe later held a 40-minute phone call with President Trump, who assured the Japanese
Prime Minister that the U.S. was 100-percent with Japan.
A senior Tokyo official also told Kyodo News that the two leaders agreed that the time
is not right for dialogue with Pyongyang and that increased pressure is needed.
South Korean foreign minister Kang Kyung-hwa also made a call to Washington and spoke with
her U.S. counter-part Rex Tillerson.
The two sides are said to have expressed their disappointment toward the regime's actions,
and pledged to continue working closely together to tackle the North Korea threat, including
at the U.N.
South Korea, the U.S. and Japan have jointly requested an emergency meeting of the U.N.
Security Council.
It's set to convene later on Tuesday, and three allies are likely to call for further
pressure on the rogue state.
However, China and Russia, North Korea's closest allies, are likely to push for dialogue.
Sergei Ryabkov, Moscow's deputy foreign minister, said on Tuesday that sanctions had reached
their limits, and that only a diplomatic solution was the answer.

N. Korea's new missiles could be aimed at S. Korea's THAAD system - Duration: 2:00.
The South Korean military has revealed that the missiles fired by North Korea on Saturday
flew for about 250 kilometers... with an altitude of 50 kilometers.
That means they were longer range than the regime's conventional multi-rocket launchers,...
but flew lower than its ballistic missiles.
Based on this, watchers say they could be new missiles... aimed at getting past the
defenses of the THAAD system that's expected to be temporarily deployed soon.
Kim Hyo-sun reports.
The missiles fired by North Korea on Saturday in response to the joint military exercises
between Seoul and Washington flew about 250 kilometers before landing in the East Sea.
The South Korean military said the missiles hit a maximum altitude of 50 kilometers.
While these missiles had a maximum altitude similar to that of a 300 millimeter multi-rocket
launcher,... they traveled about 50 kilometers further than a conventional 300 millimeter
multi-rocket launcher.
Based on its analysis,... the South Korean military said Pyongyang was likely testing
a new type of 300-millimeter rocket.
Seoul's analysis comes while the U.S. Pacific Command assessed that the North fired short-range
ballistic missiles.
While it's unprecedented for the allies to have differing views on the type of missiles
launched by the regime,... pundits agree they were aimed at undermining South Korea's THAAD
missile defense system,... as it would struggle to cope with missiles flying at low altitudes.
(KOREAN) "It's more difficult to catch a fast, low-flying
ball than a ball tossed high up in the air, and the same applies for the anti-missile
system.
The THAAD system wouldn't be much use if a missile flew in at a low altitude and was
sudden."
Experts generally agree that, if North Korea launches low altitude, longer range missiles,
it would be difficult for THAAD to successfully detect and intercept them.

Kim Jong-un oversees military exercises simulating invasion of S. Korean islands - Duration: 0:54.
No word so far from North Korea on Saturday's missile launch...but the regime's state-run
media has reported that Kim Jong-un oversaw a special forces exercise simulating an invasion
of South Korean border islands.
It took place on Friday, the day the regime celebrated its 57th anniversary of the Songun
or 'military-first' ideology.
The exercises included land, sea and air units attacking a target... simulating the South
Korean border islands of Baengnyeong-do and Yeonpyeong-do .
Kim is said to have been satisfied with the drills and called on the forces to be ready
to occupy Seoul and South Korea in one go.
North Korea did in fact shell Yeonpyeong-do in 2010, killing four South Koreans, which
led to Seoul significantly increasing its military presence in the area.

South Korean Prime Minister Lee Nak-yon emphasized that the situation on the Korean peninsula
was "grave" following North Korea's missile launch early Tuesday morning that flew over
northern Japan before landing in the sea.
During Tuesday's Cabinet meeting, Prime Minister Lee said Pyongyang had fired missiles again,
just two days after its last test, and that today's provocation was on a different level
than the previous missile launches.
He called on all ministries to stay on full alert for any emergency situations and added
that whatever the circumstances, the South Korean peoples' safety was the government's
utmost priority.

S. Korea to watch October commemorations for signs N. Korea is ready for talks - Duration: 1:56.
North Korea's continued provocations made it even more challenging for the fairly young
Moon administration to start dialogue with Pyongyang.
However, Seoul is giving the regime another chance: stop provocations until October and
there could be denuclearization talks.
Connie Kim has the full story.
South Korea will be keeping an eye until October to see if circumstances become optimal for
talks with North Korea.
(English) "Diplomatic space could be made for dialogue
with North Korea on its denuclearization if the situation on the Korean peninsula is under
control by October-namely the tenth anniversary of the October 4th inter-Korean summit declaration
or the founding of the Korean Workers' Party."
" 10 , 10.4 10 10.10 ."
During a press briefing on Thursday on the administration's diplomatic achievements,
Minister Kang also highlighted that the ministry will stay alert as Pyongyang is prone of marking
important dates and anniversaries with provocations.
The top diplomat also reiterated Seoul's plans to gear efforts in thawing icy inter-Korean
relations.
(English) "Apart from denuclearization talks under the
right conditions,.. the government will gear efforts in easing tensions on the Korean peninsula
and resolving pending humanitarian issues."
( .)
But,… at the same time Kang reiterated the country's stance: Seoul will respond sternly
to any provocation with adequate measures.
And following such policy, Seoul plans to lay out a new set of unilateral sanctions
on Pyongyang following the new UN Security Council resolution 2371.
(standup) "Minister Kang emphasized that it will continue
to cooperate with Washington in peacefully resolving North Korea's nuclear issues.
But with Pyongyang indicating it will not discuss its nuclear programs with Seoul, there
are concerns South Korea could be left out from the most important process: North Korea's
denuclearization talks.

S. Korean military to take a more aggressive stance during a crisis on the peninsula - Duration: 2:17.
South Korea's defense ministry says it will take a more aggressive role than previously
planned if a conflict breaks out on the peninsula.
Previous administrations had planned a more defensive stance in the early stages of a
crisis, but the military now says it will go on the offense and destroy key North Korean
facilities Kim Hyun-bin reports.
A ministry report to President Moon-Jae-in on Monday, which looked at reform and the
future role of the military, focused on establishing a wartime concept where the military will
take a more aggressive role.
The concept reflects Seoul's aim to be able to better seize the initiative in the early
stages of a conflict, in case deterrence fails.
(Korean) "Our military will establish a new concept
of how to fight, a new concept of operation, and will restructure our forces and command
structure among others to better adapt to the new concept."
South Korea's defense minister Song Yong-moo has stressed that the military will take more
of an offensive stance by destroying key North Korean facilities at the outbreak of war,
in contrast to the previous administrations' stance which focused on maintaining a defensive
posture until reinforcements arrived from the U.S. mainland.
(Korean) ""North Korea's nuclear and missile threats
are the most serious threats so we plan to speed up development of our three layer defense
system, consisting of Kill Chain, KAMD and KMPR."
The three layer defense aims to preemptively strike and destroy key North Korean facilities
when a threat is deemed imminent.
President Moon made clear that there shouldn't be any war, but he emphasized that deterrence
is based on a strong defense.
He also pointed out that Seoul will lead all security issues regarding the Korean peninsula.
One of President Moon's campaign pledges is for Seoul to regain wartime operational control
from Washington at an earlier date.
Seoul handed over OPCON to the U.S. shortly after the start of the Korean War in 1950,
and if war breaks out on the peninsula, the commander of the U.S. Forces in Korea will
take a leading role.
Seoul plans to speed up this transfer to the early 2020s from the current mid-2020s.
The ministry also reaffirmed its determination to root out corruption related to arms development
and procurement.'

founding of the Korean Workers' Party and of the October 4th inter-Korean summit declaration.

The minister noted that possibility, and added that South Korea will be seeking response
measures for any move the regime may make.

Japan says it will respond firmly to N. Korea's latest missile test - Duration: 2:11.
A chorus of condemnation is streaming in from across the world,... following North Korea's
latest missile provocation.
Strong reactions have come out of Japan's government in particular,... after it was
forced to warn local residents to take shelter,... as the missile, whizzed over its territory.
Yu Joonhee reports.
Japan was rattled on Tuesday morning... after Pyongyang fired a missile that flew over its

country's airspace since 1998.
Local residents were ordered to take shelter,... while train services were temporarily halted,...
as the missile cut across the country's skies, and out towards the Pacific Ocean.
Tokyo's denouncement of the regime's action, was immediate and swift... with Japan's Cabinet
Minister Yoshihide Suga also promising a firm response.
"This ballistic missile passed over our nation and represents the greatest and most serious
threat to the nation ever.
It also is a threat to the peace and stability of the Asia Pacific region."

North Korea fires ballistic missile directly over Japan - Duration: 2:05.
Let's start with North Korea's launch of yet another ballistic missile.
This wasn't any old launch though -- the missile flew directly over Japan -- a significant
escalation showing North Korean leader Kim Jong-un's defiance of President Trump and
Japanese Prime Minister Shinzo Abe. Trump had said Kim was starting to respect
the U.S.,... but he might have to rethink that assessment following what happened this
morning.
Let's get more information from our reporter at Seoul's defense ministry, Kim Hyun-bin.
Hyun-bin,... this is a fluid situation,... and we are still awaiting reactions from the
key players in the region,... but what's the latest you're hearing?
Well,... as you mentioned,... North Korea fired what is believed to be an intermediate-range
ballistic missile over Japan just over four hours ago.
South Korea's Joint Chiefs of Staff says the missile was fired from Sunan, near Pyongyang,
at 5:57 a.m, South Korea time.
The JCS says the missile flew directly over the northern Japanese island of Hokkaido and
fell into the North Pacific Ocean.
The Pentagon has also confirmed the missile flew over Japan's territory,...adding that
it's still assessing the launch.
The missile flew some 27-hundred kilometers,... reaching an altitude of 550 kilometers.
Experts say the North probably fired the missile to demonstrate that it's capable of targeting
the U.S. territory of Guam at any given moment.
The distance between Pyongyang and Guam is some three thousand kilometers.
At the height of U.S.-North Korea tensions earlier this month,... North Korea threatened
to launch four intermediate ballistic missiles into waters near Guam to show it's capable
of targeting U.S. military bases on the island.
Japan,... which sounded sirens in certain regions upon news of the launch, is deeply
concerned by the escalation,... but made no effort to shoot the missile down.
Japan's Chief Cabinet Secretary Yoshihide Suga described it as an "unprecedented grave
threat" and Prime Minister Shinzo Abe vowed to protect the Japanese public in the wake
of this provocation.
This comes after the North launched three short-range ballistic missiles into the East
Sea over the weekend.
We are expecting to be briefed by military officials here shortly,... so hopefully I'll
have more updates for you during the next newscast at noon, Korea time.
Back to you.
