For this Alankaar, we will be using a Tabla Accompaniment application. On the iphone you
can use iTabla Pro, an app that I personally invested in. On the Android market, you can
use Rythms Free. We will set the tempo to a 100 beats per minute in Teen Taal which
has 16 beats. For Alankaar #4, we will refer back to Alankaar #2. Now they are very similar,
except we are going to have 2 beats per note. For the Aroh (ascending), it's going to sound
like this: S R G M P. For the Avroh (descending) it's going to go like this: S(high) N D P
M. With playing, like this: S R G M P. S(high) N D P

Surely FSG must be asking Jurgen Klopp these 2 questions about Liverpool FC season ● News Now ● #LFC - Duration: 2:20.
After a stumbling start to the Premier League season and a lot of defensive errors,
the Reds seem to have addressed that issue directly by signing Virgil Van Dijk, who's
made a huge difference to the team ever since under Jurgen Klopp.
With money still burning a hole in their pocket and being right in the fight for the Champions
League places, the German is looking towards the 2018/19 season to finally bring some success
to Anfield under his guidance.
Our regulars have taken a look at a couple of things that FSG need to start questioning
though, about this year…
- Lack Of Domestic Silverware
In order to kickstart a club, often a trophy is the starting point.
Many look back at Mourinho's start at Chelsea in which he quickly won the League Cup in
his first year, before following it with a Premier League crown and that sort of mentality
has been missing at Anfield for years now.
Many of our regulars feel Klopp needs some silverware to really show that his time at
the club as being successful.
Liverpool have had a tough time on that front over the last few years, but if the Reds are
to reach their lofty ambitions, they need to start winning more trophies.
- Keeping Up In The Premier League
This is a must for the German coach if he is to go down in Liverpool folklore.
In order to keep attracting the big players, Liverpool must start to look and spend like
a big top-four club.
United, City and Chelsea seem to do it on a yearly basis and Liverpool must make the
step up.
That being said, it won't be easy, things could change, but at present, it's looking
likely that Liverpool will have to fight off Man City to have any chance of reaching their
goals.
That's going to be tough, but Klopp has the frontline to do it.

Mardi Gras parade Louisiana - Duration: 6:27.
Hello everyone! I'm still here
in Lake Charles, Louisiana
and today is the most anticipated day
of Mardi Gras. It's Mardi Gras itself!
Fat Tuesday! Happy Mardi Gras!
And here's the warm-up for the evening. We're at a brewery. This is the Crying Eagle Brewing
It opened less than two years ago and the first one actually in Lake Charles
We're having a tour
It took me about five years and I read hundreds of books, ok? Because I didn't brew beer
I never have brewed beer, okay, but I did know business
and so I knew that you can learn anything for a lot of books and
touring the world and that's what I did
There was just this world of beer out there that represented so much more
than just, you know, a beverage. You know? Craft beer and the breweries
that make them often represent their local communities, they represent their
states and some of them represent our entire countries by
distributing overseas now
So, we have this guy, here, that makes quite a bit of beer
Recently, we just opened our restaurant
Pizza!
I started traveling to different breweries and truly fell in love with them, okay? Because
again, not only were they epicenters for art and culture but they were also places you
could go, and it didn't matter whether you are black, whether you're white,
whether you're gay, whether you're straight, whether you make a lot of money, whether you make no money,
tatted up... Whatever political beliefs you were
it was just everybody kind of gathered together, it was just like all unified
under a single pint of beer
Thank you!
I'm here with my Mardi Gras outfit again as there will be more parades soon
Happy Mardi Gras!
Mardi Gras is a holiday here in Lake Charles, so this is the tradition
People started gathering here earlier, you know? Waiting for the big parade
Some people come to restaurants, some other people shut down restaurants
to do their private parties, some other people come and tailgate
like those guys are doing over there
Here we're just waiting for the big moment
The main parade here is called Krewe of Krewes
It's coming!
This is the big event to close the Mardi Gras' celebrations
I like your idea! That's smart!
The Krewe of Krewes parade joins all Mardi Gras krewes in Lake Charles
Krewe = organization that puts on a parade or ball for the carnival season
150,000 people come here to Lake Charles every year for Mardi Gras
This is twice the population of the city
This is the culmination of Mardi Gras in Lake Charles
Mardi Gras!
Mardi Gras in Lake Charles was so fun and it's very unique, very different from
other Mardi Gras celebrations around the world
People here make it really special, you know?
They're so welcoming, so happy to have you here
So I would certainly be back for more
It was lovely to see!
How heavy is this?
Right about this time, if I had to chose, literally this is about an extra 10 pounds
Then what's on my arm
it's probably about another 5 pounds
And if I would stay and pick up all the ones you see on the ground
I kid you not when I'm telling you it gets up to be 30 pounds worth of beads
This is how I close my Mardi Gras here in Lake Charles
Every year the Convention and Visitor's Bureau invites journalists to come here
and experience Mardi Gras, and this time I'm so happy that I was part of the group
So thank you guys! And I'm sure you guys liked it too is I got a lot of
messages on social media of people asking to see more. So there you go!
Five videos here in Lake Charles! Now if this is the first one that you see
go back and watch the others, it's a lot of fun stuff too
Ok, I'm ready, I'm ready
I had to register this... I can't believe the kids wanted a picture with me
And so did him!
Turn up Lake Charles!
Ladies and gentlemen, come down and experience Mardi Gras!

Hi spoonies!
Today I realized that
I don't have to put on PANTS to make a video.
I can do it from the comfort of my own bed.
So I'm going to stay in bed
and make a video about a topic
that's been on all of our minds.
"What would I do if I won the lottery?"
What would I do if I won the lottery?
Would I go to a spa?
Would I use the money to travel the world?
Maybe visit exotic islands
Or the Amazon
Or maybe I would just relax all day.
But the truth is that, if I won the lottery,
I would take out a series of billboards to shame the CDC.
And then I would take a goddamn nap.

March 2018 Reading Wrap Up! + #Emojiathon Vlog [CC] - Duration: 27:04.
Good morning and welcome to my Emojiathon vlog which is also going to be my
March 2018 reading wrap-up. It's March first so today is the first day of the
emojiathon and I wanted to take a minute to kind of explain to you how this vlog will
work. Usually with readathon vlogs I'll take you guys around with me, tell
you when I'm up to during the week or during the day or however long the
read-a-thon is. This time around because this read-a-thon is taking place over
the course of an entire month, I figured I'd combine the two and do more talking
about the books that I'm reading and less talking about what I'm actually up
to. I might mention here and there what I'm up to. For example, right now I'm
driving to work. The focus of this is going to be wrapping up the books that I
read during the month. If you didn't get to see what my plans are for the emojiathon,
I'm going to leave a link to the video in the cards that kind of explains
everything. So you're curious as to what I'll be reading this month it's all over
there. But for this vlog I am going to just be turning the camera on every time
I finish a book and telling you my thoughts about the book, giving you my
rating, giving you like a quick little mini review, things like that. That's what
this vlog is really going to entail and hopefully you guys enjoy it. I'm
looking forward to an excellent month of reading and I'm looking forward to
reviewing my first book for you which for me will be in a couple of days but
for you we'll probably be in about 20 seconds. Anyway I am going to start my
audiobook for this read-a-thon which is Outlander and it's going to probably
take me the whole month to get through it but I have a long commute so I can
probably get through it within this month. Fingers crossed. And I will check
in with you guys in a couple of days. Hello! It is the 5th
of March and I have just finished my first book today of March and that is
Tell the Wolves I'm Home by Carol Rivka Brunt. I loved this book. It was really
really good and it's one of those books where I felt like I didn't know how I
felt about it until like the very end but this book studies familial
relationships in such a interesting and real way. The complexity between like a
sibling relationship, between a person you feel really close to in your family,
and it's just, it's really - the way Carol Rivka Brunt did this was really
realistic feeling. It felt really real and I just really appreciated that. This
also takes place in the 80s during the AIDS epidemic in the United States so it
discusses that a lot, and kind of the fears people had surrounding AIDS at
that time and the lack of knowledge that the public had about the disease which
was really interesting. I don't think I've read a book that discussed that at
all so that was really interesting as well. I really really enjoyed this. I gave
it five stars and if you're looking for a interesting family relationship
focused kind of book this is a really good one to pick up. I would really
really highly recommend this one. It takes you on a journey for sure and I
just really appreciated it. This has been sitting on my shelf for like a year and
a half and I'm like kicking myself for not picking it up sooner, but I finally
did and really enjoyed it. This book fulfills my shrug emoji challenge for
Emojiathon and I'm just really happy that I picked it up. Five stars. I
finished my second book of March today and that was
My Grandmother Sends Her Regards and Apologizes I absolutely adored this book.
This book is kind of exactly what I look for in a book. It's not particularly plot
driven but the characters in here are just amazing. Literally from the first
page I could tell that I was going to love the characters, I was going to love
the book, and I did the whole way through. It's told from a seven-year-old's
perspective and it's just kind of her getting to know her neighbors in her
building because when her grandmother passes away she kind of sends her on a
treasure hunt to meet all of these people that live in her building and
it's just so wonderful and I love the main character Elsa's kind of view of
the world and it's just - It captured my heart. It didn't let go the whole time
and I absolutely loved it and I will not be surprised if this ends up on my
favorites list of 2018. So I of course gave this five stars and highly, highly, highly,
recommend that you check it out yourself. This is the only book I'm reading this
month that is not going to count for any of the Emojiathon challenges, but I
loved it just the same and really hope that you pick it up sometime soon. It's
the 13th of March and since I last talked to you I have finished two books
so I thought I would tell you about them. The first book that I finished was
Crooked Kingdom by Leigh Bardugo. This is the second installment of the Six of
Crows duology and I did enjoy this one a lot more. However I thought this could
have been about a hundred and fifty pages shorter. I was really mainly
concerned about like the main cast of characters and them accomplishing the
goals that they like set out to accomplish at the beginning of this book
and I feel like we spent a lot of time learning more about the world, learning
more about some side characters that don't really have a big play in this duology,
and I just felt like there was a lot of wasted time in this book. However, the
scenes where the main cast of characters were a focal point, I really enjoyed them
and they were really well done, and it was really well paced and I just was
really interested in those scenes. So I'm gonna ultimately give this a four
out of five stars. It had the potential to like really be an explosive ending to
the series but unfortunately it fell a little bit flat, but I still really
enjoyed it so, four stars. This completed the hourglass emoji challenge which was
to read a book that you were currently in the middle of. And then I also
completed Eliza and Her Monsters by Francesca Zappia. I thought this book
was super adorable. It's about our main character Eliza who
creates a webcomic called Monstrous Sea that is extremely popular. She goes
to high school and is a bit of an introvert. She kind of is more focused on
her life online and then she meets a boy who starts at her school who ends up
being a fan of Monstrous Sea and is one of the most popular fan fiction writers
of the series. She knows who he is but he has no idea that she is the creator
of this webcomic and she has to try and keep it a secret from him. The romance
between these two characters is really, really cute and I feel like is really
really, honest for a teenage romance. I feel like it doesn't shy away from the,
you know, questions and uncertainty about different aspects of a romantic
relationship that you have when you're a teenager. There is a little bit of
discussion about sex as a teenager in here as well, which I think is really,
really important in YA literature, to really take those issues seriously
because these are the things that teens are talking about and wondering about
and I think that's handled really, really well. I also really enjoyed the online
friendships that Eliza had. I thought her two main friends I believe their names
are Max and Emmy, are really, really great and supportive and I really loved that
as well. There was a lot to really love about this book and I ultimately gave
this 4 out of 5 stars. This book fulfilled the brain emoji challenge
which was to read a book with mental illness representation in it. Since I
last checked in with you, I again read two more books and I need to talk to you
guys about them. So the first book that I finished was Eat Only When You're Hungry
by Lindsay Hunter. This is the book that I could fulfill the car emoji challenge
which is like, a book involving travel or a road trip book. This
is also my Book of the Month pick for my current 10 Book TBR and this was
definitely an interesting read. This is a book about a father who is looking for
his drug-addicted son. His son is in his 30s and he's gone missing
and he's looking all over to find him and he's he's rented an RV and he's just
like kind of driving around the state of Florida to see if he can find him and in
this book you find out a lot about his family history, both from his childhood
but also you know, his family with his son and his ex-wife who is the mother of
the son. About how their lives kind of came to be, his relationship with his son,
how a son became addicted to drugs and how that relationship kind of changed as
he was growing up and maturing and it also talks a bit about his addiction to
food and drinking and kind of how that is impacting his health in a really
negative way. So the big themes in this book are family and addiction and I
thought this was written in a really interesting way. It was written in a way
that like, I was continually intrigued about this story. It's one of those books
where just like, it's not extremely plot driven, but it's more like, a focus on how
addiction develops, where it kind of springs from, and people's reactions
surrounding addiction, not only with people that are loved ones of theirs, but
like addiction within your own self as well. I thought this was a really
enjoyable read. It's very fast. It's a 200 page book and I ended up giving
this four stars and I will give this an award for being one of my favorite book
covers that I have ever seen. I would just sit and stare at this cover and
just see like if I could like name all the snacks that were on here. So really
interesting and really enjoyable. And then I read Big Little Lies by Liane
Moriarty and oh my gosh. I haven't had that much fun reading a book in such
a long time. I read it on my Kindle and this fulfilled the camera emoji which is
a book that has been adapted. This was adapted I believe 2017 into an HBO
miniseries and I really want to watch it now. But this book was just so much fun
to read. It follows the lives of three women who are connected because all of
their children are going into the same kindergarten class and you know right
from the get-go of the book that a murder happens somewhere along the lines
within this community and it's just so entertaining. Like the characters, three
main characters, are just so different and intriguing and the way they interact
with each other and with the rest of the kindergarten parents is just so
hilarious. There were multiple times where I was laughing out loud at this
book and it's a thriller as well so you're trying to figure out who got
killed, how it happened, when it happened, like - and there's just like, so many
different like secrets that are intertwined in this book and it was just
so good and I can already tell it's gonna be on my favorites list for this
year. I just loved it so much. It's probably my favorite book that I've read
so far this year. If you haven't had the chance to read it yet, I totally
recommend it. I know it's a little bit more of a popular book but I'm just really
happy I got around to it. I thought it was great and I ended up giving it five
stars. I'm just getting home from work and the gym. Still got my coat on because
even though it's spring, it's still freezing in New England for some reason.
On my way home from work I finished Jane Eyre by Charlotte Bronte.
Anita and I were reading this together and I decided I wanted to listen to it
on audiobook. There are multiple free audiobooks of Jane Eyre on YouTube
so I decided to give the audiobook a try and I really enjoyed listening to
the audiobook. Classics tend to be a little bit more difficult to get through
so I figured I'll just listen to it on my commutes. That's totally fine and I
listen to it at work when I was working on different projects and things like
that. So - but I really enjoyed this. This was actually a really enjoyable classic.
It's of course about Jane Eyre and her life as a governess. This is known for
being one of the more feminist classics out there Jane Eyre as a character is
very much so an independent thinking woman. She challenges a lot of the ideas
of what it means to be a woman back in the 1800s and she's been somebody to
like, challenge the norm ever since she was a child and of course I just really
enjoyed that. It was really, really wonderful and there is a really cute
love story in here as well. It's a really good ending. Out of all of the like
Victorian classics that I've read this is definitely one of the more enjoyable
ones and I ended up giving this four stars.
This ticks off the emoji that is the caution sign, so the caution emoji, and
that challenge is like, a book that you were cautious to start. So that's all
done. So like I said, I'm just getting home from work and the gym and I have a couple
days at home by myself. Brett's at work for a few days and I intend to get a lot
of reading done because I'm all about myself so what else am I gonna do? And so
tonight I'm planning to get through Obsidio. I'm more than halfway through
it and I'm loving it so I'm hoping to get through that tonight. I'm also in the
middle of a children's book called The Hundred Dresses so that's something that
could potentially get done tonight as well. And then I'm gonna move on to
Prisoner of Azkaban I think. I think that's my plan for the rest of this week.
I'll keep you updated. It's the 22nd and last night right before midnight, right
before I went to bed, I finished Obsidio by Amie Kaufman and Jay Kristoff.
This is the third and final installment of the Illuminae Files trilogy and oh
my god. I read a really decent chunk of this last night. I read over 300 pages of
it last night and I just like could not stop reading. I got to a point where it was
like 9:30 and I still hadn't eaten dinner or made myself dinner or anything
like that and I'm like, "I need a stop so I can eat". I did not want to put this
down. This was excellent. This is a great, great ending to the trilogy. You get to
see all the characters that you've met before in the series and they're all
kind of just like fighting in the final battle of this trilogy and it's just so
fantastic. My heart was like torn in like 30 different directions throughout the
entire finale of this book. You're led to think one thing and then it's really
another thing and like, of course I can't say a lot because this is the third book
in a trilogy, so I don't want to spoil you guys, but this ending was so great.
Very fantastically done. It's really hard to end a series and I think Amie Kaufman
and Jay Kristoff did a really great job. I really loved the series. I'm going to
probably do a series review, a non-spoiler series review for you guys
in the next couple of weeks, but just know that Obsidio is a great ending to
the trilogy. I gave it five stars. This is the first five-star book that I've given
in the series. Everything else has been high fours for me, but this was a five. I
really loved the way that they ended it. The plot lines just kept me turning the
pages and I did not want to stop. So five stars for Obsidio. Really happy with this
book. I've come to a point where I've realized that I've read eight books in
the month of March. Four of them have been four-star reads and four of them
have been five-star reads, so March is doing great.
Good job March. So we'll see how the rest of the reading goes this month. I have a
Harry Potter reread which I know I'll probably give five stars to cuz it's
Harry Potter, but yeah. I've been reading a lot of really great books this month
and I just kind of wish that every month was like this. I feel like this is how
your reading should be. You should be reading four and
five star books all the time in my opinion. Anyway I need to eat breakfast
and go to work. Why is it still snowing? It's supposed to be spring! Make it stop!
So it is the 26th of March and I'm about to cook myself some dinner. I'm just
chopping up some broccoli. Need something healthy to eat cuz I've been
snacking on junk while I've been reading today and I've actually finished two
books since I last talked to you. This has been kind of the trend of this video.
As I finish a book and then I'm either like too tired because I'm finishing at
night to update you guys, or I just like don't feel like pulling the camera out
at the moment, but I have finished two books. So I want to talk to you guys
about them while chopping up my broccoli. Ffirst book I finished was The Hundred
Dresses by Eleanor Estes. This is a children's book that I found for really
cheap on Kindle and it's a book that I think I read when I was in, I believe
fifth grade, and this is a book about bullying. It's about the these school
girls who, they had a Polish immigrant in their class and a lot of the girls would
make fun of her because she would always say, "oh I have, I have a hundred dresses
in my closet at home". Sorry. My camera died and I didn't
want to wait to charge my battery so I switched in my phone.
But basically the girls are bullying her because they don't believe that she has
a hundred dresses because she wears the same dress to school every day and the
dress that she wears to school every day is really like worn and everything and
then the main character is feeling very conflicted. She's like I don't like the
way we speak to her but she doesn't really have the courage to kind of stand
up to her friends who are making fun of this girl and it talks a lot about like
I'm the conflict that you might face when trying to confront your peers about
bullying and it's really interesting. Like it didn't
address bullying outright in terms of like using the terminology "bullying" and
things like that, but it does talk about bullying and we read it - I think I was in
fifth grade as a class and kind of discussed the topic of bullying and I
just I really loved it. It's a really good book. I still loved it. I read it
when I was what, 10 or 11 the first time through and I'm 27 now. Still loved it
and I gave it five stars. It's only about 80 pages long on Kindle so it's a lot
shorter. I think it's a physical copy but it's really good. The hundred dresses
completed the e-book challenge which was the phone emoji for emojiathon. Then
finished Harry Potter and the Prisoner of Azkaban. Book number three in the
Harry Potter series. Prisoner of Azkaban - I have not revisited the story since the
first time I read it. Chamber of Secrets and Prisoner of Azkaban, I don't believe
I ever watched the movie all the way through since its release and I have since
watched Chamber of Secrets of course and I don't think I've ever watched
Prisoner of Azkaban. I've seen like the scene where Hermione punches Malfoy
in the face and I feel like I've seen like, one other scene, but other than that
I don't think I've ever watched the movie. So this was the first time I've
revisited the story since I think I was probably like 12 or 13 when I read
Prisoner of Azkaban and it was such a cool experience, like going back to the
book and reading it the first time and kind of revisiting the story. There's so
much that I forgot about the story and of course what I remember when I first
read it when I was a kid, it was one of my favorite books in the series and it's
just so much different than the other books thus far in the series and I just
really enjoyed myself reading it and of course gave it five stars and I will be
doing my reread review in the month of April. So be on the lookout for
that. I really enjoyed my time reading it so A+ I'm really liking this reread
that I'm doing so far this year. That fulfilled the wizard emoji
challenge which is to read a fantasy book. So works out. At this point we have
five full days left of the month, so five full days left of emojiathon. I think I
can realistically finish three more books. I'm almost done Outlander, I'm going
to start Blue Lily, Lily Blue tonight, and I think I can finish Simon vs. the Homo
Sapiens Agenda by the end of the month. I think those are the three books I'm going to
try and really finish and that will get me at least one BNGO and I do have a
couple other books that are shorter that I could potentially squeeze in for maybe
a second BINGO. It just might be only a one BINGO kind of read-a-thon but we'll
see. I'll keep you guys updated. Hey! So it is the last day of the month. It's
9:45 p.m. so I wanted to do one last check in with you guys because I
probably won't be reading any other books, but I did manage to read
three more books since the last time I checked in with you so I wanted to go
through those really quick. The first book that I finished was Outlander by
Diana Gabaldon. This is my audiobook for emojiathon and really disappointed with this.
I didn't really care for it that much. If you don't know what Outlander is, it's
about this woman who travels through time back to the 1700s and falls in love
with and marries this Scotsman named Jamie and really it's just kind of about
her transitioning back in time to the 1700s from 1940's I think and that's -
there, like in my eyes there wasn't really anything super exciting about
this plot and I thought it was really weird that the main character didn't
really have a very strong reaction to traveling back in time like at all. She's
like, she has like a husband in her modern time
and she doesn't even really seem to miss him. She doesn't think it's weird that
she's back in time. I thought there were gonna be more scenes with the time
travel aspect to it but there wasn't and I thougth this was really dull. The writing
is really well done. It's very descriptive but the plot is
just again, really dull and I didn't enjoy it. I'm giving it 2 stars.
Definitely not gonna continue on with this series. Honestly I don't think it's
worth your time. I then read the third book in The Raven Cycle which is Blue
Lily, Lily Blue by Maggie Stiefvater. This is my buddy read with Michael from
Michael H and ti counted for the buddy read challenge for emojiathon. I really like
this installment of The Raven Cycle. It seems like things are starting to click.
A lot of things are starting to happen in the series and they're starting to be
some payoff to everything that has been building up throughout the course of the
series. I don't want to say too much but I really enjoyed this installment. I'm
really starting to like grow emotionally attached to the characters of the series
and I'm really excited to get to the fourth and final book and know what
happens. I gave this four stars just like I've given all the other books in the
series so far and again I can't wait to conclude this next month. And then today
I spent the entire day reading Simon vs. the Homo Sapiens Agenda by Becky
Albertalli I picked this up at like 8 a.m. this morning and I just read it all
day. This was so, so cute and I definitely see why people really encourage others
to read this because it's just so well done. It's just adorable and it like
gives you kind of that like highschool butterflies and your tummy kind of
feeling that you got when you had crushes in high school and I just really
loved it. I loved the characters. I love Simon and this was just such a fun read
it's so light-hearted and it will just put a smile right on your face. I gave
this five stars. I had no problems with it at all. I was able to figure out who
the "Blue" character was quite early on in the book but that didn't take away from
just the happiness that this book brought me.
So definitely recommend this. This book fulfilled the challenge of a book that
everybody has been telling you to read and I'm so happy that people have been
telling me to read this for such a long time and that I finally picked it up and
I really do want to go see the adaptation now because it's just
adorable. I loved it. And with that my March reading is done and emojiathon is
done and I was able to get one BINGO which I'm excited about. I was kind of
hoping to maybe get two. I'm very close and a lot of different rows and columns.
I'll leave the BINGO board right on the screen so you can see. I am very close in
a lot of other places. I'm in the middle of a book that would have gotten me a
second BINGO and I thought I might have been able to finish that one today as
well, but I had other things going on today that I had to take care of as well.
So couldn't squeeze it in, but I'm really happy with how I did during emojiathon.
I got a lot of the books that I wanted to read this month done and
enjoyed so many of them. I read a total of thirteen books, twelve of those books
for four or five star ratings, and the only book that didn't get a four or five
was Outlander and it got two stars. So I'd say I had a pretty stellar reading
month in March. Anyway I hope you guys enjoyed this reading wrap-up vlog. I'm
gonna be doing this kind of video again next month because I will be
participating in the O.W.L.s read-a-thon that is the whole month and I kind of
like doing these wrap-up vlogs over the sit-down wrap-up because you you're
getting my kind of immediate reaction and I feel like they're a little bit
more interesting. But let me know what you think about the wrap-up vlog in the
comments if you prefer this over my sit down reading wrap-up videos. You're gonna
get one next month either way, but if you enjoy them maybe I will continue on for
the rest of the year as well. So if you enjoyed this video please leave a big
thumbs up. Subscribe if you haven't already. I do try to make a new video
each and every week and I will see again very soon. Bye!

FLUENT IN 30 DAYS EPISODE 03 [30-DAY CHALLENGE] *ACTIVATE THE SUBTITLES* - Duration: 8:36.
My name's Rodger Koller and this video is going to be very special.
This is the third episode of a series of videos named "The Challenge"
If you haven't seen the previous videos, please click on this card here
and watch them before this one
It is essential that you watch the previous episodes before this video in order to fully understand it.
So please, stop this video right now and watch them
ok
So please, stop this video right now and watch the previous episodes beforehand
But if you don't know what the challenge is, I'm going to explain what it is really quickly
"the challenge" is a series of videos that will help you achieve fluency
by one simple exercise
you just need to choose a topic for conversation and
and speak about it for one minute nonstop
and you can't read anything while you're speaking
So, this is the challenge
I've made two videos about this so far
and in the first two videos I taught you how to do that. I taught you some strategies in order to do it more efficient
As I said in the previous videos
if you are a student from the pre-intermediate level
of English up to the advanced level of English
You can speak about any topic for one minute nonstop
Even if you are not familiar with the topic
So this exercise was designed
for students from the pre-intermediate level up to the advanced level...
However
Some basic students have sent me messages on Instagram, on Twitter and on Facebook
saying that they could speak for one minute, for fifteen minutes, even for one hour nonstop
Seriously, many basic students have sent me messages saying that they could express themselves and do this challenge
and I was really happy with that, but
But of course, many people have sent me messages saying:
"Oh Rodger, I couldn't do that because I am a basic student...I couldn't speak for one minute nonstop. It was really difficult for me"
So today, this video is for basic students who are trying to do the challenge.
So, I'm going to read two comments from basic students and I'm going to try to help them
and if you have questions, please leave a comment with your question
in the comment section down below
I'll probably make a video out of it, so please
Ask me anything
I have several questions!
Gustavo asked:
"I can understand the words in English very well but I can't come up with sentences or talk about them
I know what they mean but I can't use them. Can you help me with that?"
And Rosielson said:
My basic vocabulary in English is pretty good. I practice with previously written sentences every day. But I couldn't even speak for 15 seconds... :(
Ok, so this video is for you...
I'm going to reply to these questions
and I'm going to give you tips on how to become fluent
even if you are a basic student
you will be able to communicate in English very soon
so, stay tuned
Let's think of the similarities between these two questions
First, they are basic students
and second
They have some knowledge of English. They know vocabulary...They know grammar
They have the knowledge here in the brain, but
But when they have to use it
They just can't do that because they forget the words...
They don't know how to use them
Basically what we have here is a case of
Passive knowledge
I think I have that too
I think I'm a passive!
Oh...Perhaps...Let's see
So...When you're learning a language there are two levels...
The active knowledge and the passive knowledge
The active knowledge is the vocabulary and the grammar that you can use
actively when you're speaking
it's something that you know off the top of your head that you can communicate using the language
without any hesitation
so, it's something that you have in your mind
and you can use it. Whenever you need to use it, you are able to use it
without any hesitation, so
So this is active knowledge
you know something and you can use it when you have to use it
Passive knowledge, on the other hand, is something that you know...So it's here...
You know vocabulary and you know grammar
but when you have to use it
You just forget everything
you get blocked and you can't use it
But
when you have this passive knowledge you can recognise words, so you can probably understand what people say to you
or you can read a text
and you can understand a text
but when you have to speak, you just forget about everything again
so this is passive knowledge
Passive knowledge is when you know something but you can't bring this information down to your mouth
Down to my mouth? Well, I think I'm a passive then
Today I'm going to teach you how to turn this passive knowledge into active speaking
Oh, that's very good! I want to become active!
What!? I beg your pardon...What did you say?
I have passive knowledge, I want to become an active speaker!
Oh yeah! I'm going to give you three tips on how to do that!
Thank you, Rodger. I want to improve my oral skills
I'm going to give you three tips on how you can become an active speaker...So...
The forst tip is:
You need to find speaking partners
You need to find people that you can communicate with in English
People who you can interact with, in English
But Rodger, that's the problem! Nobody speaks English in my family
My friends don't speak English, so I can't find these speaking partners
Where will I find these people?
Well, I have the solution for you
and for you too...
if you subscribe to the channel you will be given access to our group on Telegram.
and then you'll be able to practice your English
through voice messages and text messages
Today there are 350 people there in the group
speaking English and communicating in English
sending voice messages and text messages
all the time, so
Subscribe to the channel and get access to our group on Telegram
and you'll have speaking partners
Oh! That's a very good idea! I'm going to join this group!
But even if I join the group
I'm a basic speaker...So...
I won't be able to communicate
So you are a basic student of English, right?
so, it means that you are studying English
The tip for you is:
You have to use what you're studying at the moment
Let's imagine that you're learning the simple present...
The simple present is all about "routine"
so you go to the group on Telegram and you start talking about your routine, for example:
"I wake up at 5 a.m.
then I brush my teeth, I have a shower
then I have breakfast, I go to work
I work up to 6 p.m.
and then I go back to my house
I call my girlfriend and I use the Internet and then I go to sleep"
and then you ask: "What do you do?"
There are many people there...somebody is going to reply to your question
talking about his or her routine, so
so you start interacting with people in English about something that you are studying at the moment
Things that you have just learnt
and you're talking on Telegram so you can use
your tools.....For example, you can use Google, books and dictionaries...
use anything you need
to communicate with this person, in order to keep the conversation going on
Don't let the conversation die
Let's imagine, for example, that you've just learnt the future
so you go to the group and you say something like:
"Hey guys, I will go to a Mexican restaurant on Saturday... Do you have plans for the weekend? What will you do on Saturday?
and then somebody is going to reply to your message and then you're going to have a conversation...
you can use books, Google, dictionaries...
After you text message for some time
you're going to build up some confidence
and then you can start sending voice messages
and therefore, you will practice your speaking because you will send voice messages
you'll be practicing your listening because you'll receive voice messages
and you'll practice your writing because you'll be typing things
and you'll practice your reading because you will read what people will be texting you
The conclusion is that you have to use English
You have this passive knowledge, so you have to use it, you have to force yourself into using it

Willow: The dog attack was pretty hard on you last night...
Forest: I know. We have to keep moving.
Willow: But where are we going to go?
Forest: We have to get help.
Willow: but no one will help us. Who would?
Forest: You know who I'm talking about.
Willow: But ,they wouldn't help us even if we were dying at their paws...
Forest: I know, but we have to try.
Courage: This is pointless we would have already found him by now.
Decker: But we need to keep
searching. he might not be able to find his way
back home. He's so young and he hasn't been out before.
Courage: Well, that's insulting. You think
he's stupid?
Decker: he could be lost out there
Courage: And you think we won't get lost either? we
should turn back now
Courage: I don't think that we should I'm going to keep searching
even if you won't. it's insulting. you're abandoning your own son.
Courage: fine, go get
lost for all I care. I won't be looking for you.
you're... you're back? where were you?
Courage: searching, of course. Decker still up there, the idiot.
Nightarrow: So you didn't find him?
Courage: what are you, stupid?
I thought you were only blind and nose dead not brain dead
Nightarrow: I... I...
Kal: father
Lufti: don't call me that
Kal: abuser
Lufti: aberration
Kal: despite what you want
to think that black Tomcat did not give me a tabby pelt.
Lufti: liar. you are nothing to
me.
Kal: same to you. the only thing that means
anything to me it seems you dead
Zi: I can't believe it
Kal: seemed that flu slowed them down just enough for the dogs to
get to him
Balraj: hmm. that doesn't look like a dog bite to me.
Zi: are you suggesting a cat
killed him?
Balraj: possibly.
Kal: it has to be the Chandak cats! they're trying to take our
territory! we have to wage war with them now
in order to stop them from killing any more of us!
Forest: why did she have to die
Kal: that infection must have been severe. why don't you notice Forest? you're her
brother! if you noticed maybe she'd still be alive.
Forest: I never--
Kal: well what's with
excuses it's quite obvious we're too careless to notice. it's too late now,
anyway.
Balraj: what's up with you? we're all shaken but
Kal: with me why are you
so calm?
Dawn: if she died of an infection why does she smell of foxglove? we finally
found them after all this time searching and then they just lead us to them
murderers what I'll kill you before you kill me then I'll take you with me
you're with us or against us there is no middle ground we only want what's peace
you can only have peace if we end this war but if we fight we'll just create
more war and if you don't who's to say you won't be dragged in anyways no we
won't who's to say the ethnic cats won't
attack you like they did us I had no provocation they're dangerous we need to
end this now are you with us over against us
you found them yes good I had faith in you he will regret what he did
Forrest I have something important to tell you
what is it dawn I force I am expecting kittens you know you couldn't have magic
it's too late to reverse the decision now I have to leave where will you go
anywhere right here I don't want to see or hear of my father
again but first I have to save my sister
you
kal what is this nothing but a test of course what I want you to kill some what
kal you expect me to yes you've done it before haven't you no I I saw you kill
that kid she wasn't dead don't lie to me
no how did you know a great deal more than you think I do
traitor want to keep her secret safe kill her it'll be much appreciated magic
what are you doing here I just I came back for you you you betrayed me
why do you think I'd go with you I well get away from me I'm not a traitor like
you are I'm loyal to my group I just banded me you banded us and you think
we'll just forgive you get out of here now before I call duress art or courage
over here dumpling said get away mommy it's so cold season has come earlier
this year do you think we'll be able to find enough prey I can't tell you
exactly but we can only hope no cat trick is getting harder and harder to
find in this weather so I'm setting up a few limits mothers and kittens will eat
first they are the ones that need strength the most the hunters will eat
last these laws make no sense how old the
hunters have the strength to hunt if they don't eat first of course you are
the one to speak up I have faith in my hunters but do you care about them
you're sending them into pointless battles that only ended injury and death
I don't see anything that can be earned by defeating the Chandhok cats can you
though I see many things I see territory it seems right and I see the life you
were blind to all of these things well I don't think any of this is
worth it I'm later here so silence yourself before I have to during these
times there's no room for disloyalty but but Decker what if he idaero it's
alright I'll protect you butBut what about jump like listen
Knight arrow if he goes anywhere near you he'll have to answer to me but what
if you're not it's alright I can talk to Jeru so it's not like
courage as our leader is he he maybe soon that arrow to cats can't topple a
leader Chios and dumpling are so persistent I think it's going to happen
I don't think Durazo will be our leader anymore soon and who would replace her I
I don't really know who are you and what are you doing oh I'm just here to solve
your problems and mine as well what oh it just seems that you've had a
problem this specific cat and I know exactly how to do I'll listen these are
getting colder and there is no room for disloyalty but I don't think my message
synching we are here to punish a traitor Balraj step forward what do you want
from me you know what I'm about to say why don't you say it yourself you
captain what do you mean don't act like you never left
you lied to every single one of us and you kept secrets what does he mean
you're staying silent yes I'll have to spill the truth all of us know that
indeed Don and sky were his children but none of us knew who the mother was we
had all assumed and we were told that she was a local cat who was a strict
with no group just a wanderer however that wanderer was more than just a
wanderer who was the enemy we've grown to despise even then she was dangerous
she was deressa of the chanax I can't believe it what loyal cat would keep
secrets and live from his own group why there is no room for disloyalty behalf
of our bitch
everything is going according to plan al doesn't know what he's gotten himself
into no you can't I'm your leader you're not fit to be leader you're not there
for us I know what's going on here who's that I'm just here to resolve some

Friendship is ね in Sora Yori mo Tooi Basho - Duration: 4:41.
You've probably heard the song of a blue jay or a sparrow early in the morning, but
did you know penguins also sing?
Let's take a listen.
Okay, it sounds less like a song and more like a weird squawk.
But while bird songs have a few pretty set purposes, such as establishing territory and
mating, the squawk of a penguin is a pretty versatile thing.
Penguins are very social creatures, and with this comes a lot of communication.
While they all appear to be wearing identical little suits, penguins will strongly bond
with specific individuals, and can even identify each other off of the sound of their call
alone.
They have calls for when a threat is approaching, calls for when they're scared and seek physical
comfort (which penguins love by the way).
Scarily enough, sometimes they'll even wander off and get lost—and in response they'll
let out a squawk as if to mean "Is anyone there?
Can anyone hear me?
I'm alone and lost."
And in response, their partners or other penguins will squawk in return, acting like a beacon.
As if to say, "We're right here with you.
This is home."
Now, why did I go into a lesson about penguin calls?
Well, in a sense, the cast of Sora Yori are penguins.
Okay okay, not exactly, but hear me out.
In episode 10, Kimari makes a curious observation at the end of the episode, bookending a discussion
on what exactly friendship is.
Here she's pointing to a simple character of the Japanese alphabet, the hiragana for
ne.
It can be used by itself or as a tag-on to a sentence, and the usage of emotive sentence
ending particles is pretty unique to the Japanese language, with some exceptions.
They're little one to four syllable words added on to the ends of sentences that tint
the meaning of everything prior.
Particles like kashira lend an air of uncertainty to the statement it's tacked onto, and ones
like dattebayo are the bane of dub translators everywhere, you better believe it!
That brings us back to ne.
Ne is often translated as "right?", or as the seeking of affirmation, but like a
penguin's call—it really is a versatile thing.
Goo dictionary, a popular online Japanese dictionary, explains it as "A word that
is used at times such as calling out to another, or reminding someone about something in a
friendly way."
Really, ne strikes at the heart of what friendship truly is, and it's such a eloquent yet concise
way of articulating it.
What Hinata, Kimari, Shirase and most of all Yuzu learn is that friendship is shared experiences,
shared frustrations, and unspoken understanding.
While Yuzu is the one that most benefits from this realization, it's important to note
that the others like Hinata and Shirase also come to their own understanding of what friendship
really means.
In episode 6, Hinata makes a huge mistake and plans to take the fall for it—refusing
to allow Shirase to accommodate her.
In her own words, "I know you were trying to be considerate.
I just really hate that kind of thing."
Or, "dame da ne?"
But what she doesn't realize is that by placing the burden on herself, she's being
just as "considerate", if not more so.
Because weren't they all in this together?
The four of them?
Ne?
And this feeling is echoed later on in the series, where Hinata's not-so-good friends
attempt to show their faces.
Because as Shirase berates them for being spineless cowards, one is filled with the
feeling of, "friends stand together, screw politeness!
Ne?!"
"You were supposed to be her friends!
Right?
And you failed her!
No way we let that happen again."
Surprisingly enough, ne has actually been studied by linguists for quite some time,
due to its versatile and esoteric usage.
Japan as a culture is very much focused on "that thing" Hinata hates, consideration.
But, I think what she really hates is pity mistaken for consideration.
Japanese culture is very much focused on being mindful of others, summed up the word omoiyari—you
could almost consider it the foundation of their social interaction.
And in a sense, this is what ne represents.
The attempt to connect to another human being.
What is friendship but the considerateness of someone's feelings that you care for?
Ultimately, ne is vulnerability.
It's opening yourself up to rejection, and putting trust into the idea that those who
surround you understand you and how you feel.
In Sora Yori it's the refusal to leave someone behind.
A birthday being remembered.
The instant scrambling to find something that may be long gone.
The little blip showing your message was read.
It's a penguin's squawk.
Ne?
Thanks for watching, and be sure to like and subscribe for more content.
And of course, if anything I said was wrong, I'm sorry.
I must've stuttered.
Ne?

Why Guys Miss the Toilet So Often - Duration: 2:02.
Ladies and responsible gentlemen, let me be the first to say, "I'm sorry" on behalf
of my more reckless brethren.
See we we guys are in the bathroom we run into a lot of issues
It's scary sometimes.
Challenging
Sometimes fun. I didn't s- say 'fun'...
I said 'serious'.
This is a very serious issue
I'd say sneezing plays a role more than we'd like
to admit.
Sometimes exhaustion mid-dispense can affect performance.
You know, you get tired.
You peter out…
I personally often have this experience where I realize, "WAIT THIS ISN'T THE TOILET,THIS IS MY BED!"
..Wait nevermind it totally is the toilet.
Cloggage.
Honestly, You'd be surprised what happens in there, I've actually seen a four-way-stack-interchange-stream.
It was not good.
It also hurt a little.
Sometimes, It's late at night and you double take because you thought you spotted that
ghost that's definitely haunting your apartment.
At times, There's crud around the bowl of the toilet, and instead of getting the Lysol,
you try to clean it off with your personal power washer.
You know, your PP Washer?
Sometimes you get thirsty half way through.
Then you realize you've created an impossible feedback loop, and you don't know how to
get out of it.
Maybe You're just Dude-Perfecting in your bathroom.
Immaturity..sometimes plays a role..
*EXPLOSIVE ORCHESTRAL MUSIC*
Sometimes you're just dumb.
You're stupid.
You're moronic. You're Idiotic. You're Immature.
You'e just GROSS.
Dudes are gross. And I'm sorry.
