Youtube daily report Sep 1 2018

Well, we're about to go chopping.

We are going to chop a strip of this alfalfa,

and then we're head down the road to that corner

and chop a strip of sudangrass,

and then come back and chop another strip of this alfalfa,

and we should be good

with a full load.

Oops!

Take three! It came off again.

Yay!

Time after time this stuff gets blown over by wind and rain.

Okay, Hank's going to get the Kubota,

and we'll hook that up to the wagon and use the

four wheel drive to yank it up that hill for the cows.

The reason we mixed alfalfa and sudangrass together

is that if we just fed the sudan alone,

it is a wet, sugary mush,

good energy for them,

but without a little more fiber in there,

it will pass right through them,

and they will not chew their cud very much,

because it's actually the scratch factor that causes

them to regurgitate their cud and chew it some more,

and if they don't chew their cud enough,

number 1: the food will pass through them too quickly,

they won't be able to make use of all the nutrients that are in there,

number 2: chewing cud rumination helps produce butterfat,

which is the bulk of our pay right now,

so we need all the butterfat we can get.

Yup.

Quick crop report:

This first field I'm standing by right now

is the oats that we planted a week- ten days ago,

anyhow, Hank made a video of that.

Right past it- the very light green that you can see

probably not very well,

is the alfalfa that we planted the next day.

Don't know if you can see,

I can't even see,

there we go!

Those two cranes out there probably picking up alfalfa seedlings

and dining on alfalfa sprouts tonight.

Rotten buggers!

Okay, they're not as tough as they thought they were.

I hear these footprints came from Gina.

who was out when she wasn't supposed to be.

Yum yum yum yum, right, Annie?

Yum yum yum yum!

Quit being pushy!

Joy!

Does it taste good?

It looks good

if I were a cow.

Well, I just came to say hi and see how everybody likes the food.

See ya later girls.

There's the naughty cow who got out.

Thanks for watching!

Bye everybody!

Chaos in Korea (Part 1) | History of Japan 20 - Duration: 5:10.

It was a time of betrayals, wars, and shifting alliances when the three kingdoms ruled the

Korean Peninsula.

And Yamato, the state that would become the Japanese state, didn't shy away from these

games.

What do you say we sprint through 300 years of Korean history in one video?

I know, I know.

They say it can't be done, it's too hard, you're putting your life on the line.

Well, so be it.

I will do whatever it takes for you, the viewer.

All I ask is that you leave a comment of support, right now, in case I don't make it.

Our journey begins in the 300s.

The peninsula had 3 kingdoms: Koguryo, Paekche, and Silla.

There was also Kaya, which was a confederacy of little city-states tucked right between

the two powerhouses of Paekche and Silla.

Poor Kaya was the Hawkeye of the bunch, standing next to Thor, Iron Man, and Captain America.

Fortunately, Thor, Iron Man, and Captain America were busy beating the crap out of each other.

Now, let's take a second to remember the names of the three Korean kingdoms.

Seriously, the rest of the video will be easy to follow if you just remember these three

names.

Koguryo was the strongest.

It liked to call the other two its vassal states.

Koguryo went around flexing its muscles, fighting bitter wars with Paekche, and even poking

the bear called the Sui Dynasty by doing raids in Chinese territory.

Koguryo did become friendly with Silla though.

It even orchestrated the ascension of a Silla king.

Facing increasing Koguryo aggression, Paekche appealed to Yamato for military help.

The Paekche king did something that, apparently, Paekche kings loved to do.

To demonstrate trust and good faith, he sent his own heir to Japan as a hostage.

Yamato sent an army to defend Paekche and attack Silla.

In the 400s, Paekche and Silla formed an alliance against the bully Koguryo.

Another huge war erupted between Koguryo and Paekche.

And what do Paekche kings do in dire times?

"Oh my god, I'm in trouble.

I know, let's ship a family member off to Japan."

This time, the Paekche king sent his own mother to Japan as a hostage.

Now if he had sent his mother-in-law, I wouldn't have been worried.

"I had to, it's a necessary evil!

Honey."

But sending his own mother was a sign that the war was going disastrously for Paekche.

Another sign that the war was going disastrously appeared in 475, when Koguryo attacked the

Paekche capital and killed its king.

This alarmed Yamato.

They had the strongest relations with Paekche and the Kaya Confederacy, and Koguryo's

rude behavior was threatening their influence in the peninsula.

The geographical dice were unkind to the Japanese archipelago when it came to metal ore.

Japan lacked metal, especially iron.

Most of their iron came from Korea, so they had to maintain good relations with the peninsula.

The Yamato emperor, Yuryaku, backed a king to the empty Paekche throne.

Remember the queen mother who was sent over as hostage earlier?

The new king was either her son or grandson.

Yuryaku also wanted to attack Koguryo, but he died from sickness, and at that point,

the court was busy with other things.

And now we're into the 500s.

Paekche and Silla have grown stronger.

Silla even started conquering territories in the Kaya Confederacy.

Yamato tried to protect its ally by sending troops against Silla, but failed.

After this loss, Japan appeared to have adopted a policy of non-intervention, militarily.

It lasted for decades.

Of course, there were small military expeditions here and there, and they kept sending supplies

to allies, but there were no major excursions.

It seemed their focus shifted towards taking care of things at home and away from losing

wars in foreign lands.

By mid-century, things weren't going so well for Paekche, as usual.

When they looked north, they saw relentless Koguryo attacks.

When they looked east, they saw an aggressive Silla pushing further into Kaya territory.

Now, Paekche was still allied with Silla, remember.

But you can't trust those shifty Silla bastards.

They feared an imminent Koguryo-Silla alliance.

And so they sought help from Yamato, and sweetened the deal by introducing Buddhism and writing

to Japan.

The introduction of Buddhism was a whole big thing, check out this video.

Curiously, Paekche did not send over a hostage this time.

Paekche's paranoia was proven right.

Silla attacked in 553, shattering the alliance.

And Yamato sent troops to reinforce Paekche's borders.

In 562, Silla absorbed the entire Kaya Confederacy, leaving Paekche as Yamato's closest friend

in the peninsula.

Meanwhile, up north, remember how Koguryo was poking Sui the Bear?

Well, they poked too hard, and the bear poked back.

With claws.

Sweden royal family: ADORABLE photos of Prince Gabriel released to mark his first birthday - Duration: 3:02.

The boy in blue, who is sixth in line to the throne, smiled for the camera in the adorable portraits shared by proud parents Carl Philip, 38, and Princess Sofia, 32

Posting on their joint Instagram account, they wrote: "Congratulations beloved Gabriel

For a year you have spread joy to us and your big brother!" Gabriel wears a light blue shirt that matches his eyes in the snaps, the same colour that he and big brother Prince Alexander, 2, wore in a family portrait released earlier this month

And the post has proved a hit with fans of the royal, receiving more than 24,000 likes and hundreds of comments wishing the young Prince 'many happy returns' since it was shared a day ago

The Swedish royal family released two incredibly sweet portraits of Prince Carl Philip and Princess Sofia's second son on Friday in honour of the exciting milestone

The Swedish Royal Court's official Instagram account shared another portrait of the baby happily looking at the camera

Former glamour model Princess Sofia married Prince Carl in June 2015. The Duchess of Varmland previously opened up about transitioning from life as a celebrity to a royal, admitting that she encountered a flood of online bullying after the relationship went public in 2010

She said during an interview with Sweden's TV4: "I was met with an enormous hate storm, form people who had opinions about as a person, about my relationship

"I was surprised and it definitely affected me. "I didn't under that people had such need to express how badly they felt about me

It was very tough." The 33-year-old used to be a glamour model while she studied in Stockholm

She posed for men's magazine Slitz wearing just a bikini bottom and a boa constrictor when she was 20

She was also voted Miss Slitz 2004 by readers. Following her modelling career from Slitz she landed a spot on the Swedish reality show Paradise Hotel and made it to the final

Husband Prince Carl previously shared what it was like to become a family of four in a November interview with Swedish magazine Kupé

Having two children, Sofia said, is an adjustment, but a positive one. "We do get glimpses that it's going to be tougher with two than with one," the 33-year-old mother said

"But there is also twice as much love." Carl Philip, 39, agreed: "Gabriel and Alexander are still so small, but it's so exciting to follow their development

It's great to be part of their journey."

Turkish Snacks Experience! Koreans' Challenge / Hoontamin - Duration: 14:49.

Turkish snacks arrived

One of our subscribers 'Ali İhsan Baran'

He sent us Turkish snacks

Finally we received it

Actually I've tried kebab

But it's difficult to encounter Turkish snacks

I'm curious how it'll be

Let's open it

There's a lot

There are various types

Thank you, we love you

Should we eat them randomly and do a review?

Let's do it

I'll change our clothes first

We will transform

I think we became fan of Galatasaray

Now we'll go try out the snacks

There's something similar to wehaz that I like

I don't know numbers in Turkish

But I know number 9, 'dokuz'

We had watched a music video before

It's a snack called '9 KAT TAT'

Looks similar to wehaz

Almost the same to wehaz

It's not chocolate flavor

Is it peanut flavor?

I love strawberry flavor

The strawberry flavor is no joke

The peanut flavor is good too

I personally like the strawberry flavor more

I personally also agree

Secondly we'll try this one

It's similar to the Korean sticky rice cake

Open it quick

It's like such

Doesn't it taste like fruit in the powder?

I imagined a sticky and savory sticky rice cake

It's a fruity flavored jelly

Now we'll try something that says 'ÇOKOPRENS'

I like chocolate

Let's share half

Don't eat it all

If you cut it inside you won't make a mess

Like this sometimes..

What do you do if you have good grades

This has a chewy chocolate smell

Than being chocolate smell

Cocoa flavor

A sweet cocoa flavor

It's a bit different from Korea's choco snacks

Personally this is yummier

Because it's not bitter

If I was 11 years old

I would've eaten this in one bite

And this got my attention

There's a pretty snack here

It's like such in the back

Is it different from this?

It's the same, but different flavor

Omg, what is this

How to you express this?

It has marshmallows in it

I don't know what flavor is on top

Coconut flavor!

There's marshmallow on top of the coconut

This is of my taste

This is a similar flavor

But it's a bit more sweet

Something is coated on top

It's colorful and pretty

Like cotton candy

This is a Korean drink

As you drink this with a sweet snack

I'm personally curious about this sausage

Is it a sausage?

This is a peanut sausage

Looks like grapes

When I received the email it was introduced as 'peanut sausage'

This sausage was made in the style of Halal

So Islamic religious people can eat it too

Korean sausage has a strong scent

So it's easy to recognize

This doesn't have a scent

Is this sausage?

The walnut flavor is strong

Doesn't taste as sausage

Seems like jelly

The walnut inside is yummy

I imagined a chewy meat

But because it's made uniquely

How can I express it?

Pig's trotters

Seems like eating pig's trotters...

I can't agree

Don't you need to cook it, right?

Please tell us the way of eating, do you need to cook it?

I think you just eat it

This is really big

Seems like an ice cream cone

Doesn't it?

I think this is one

You can't separate it

Don't make weird sounds, you look stupid

Very delicious

If you say it like such how will they translate it

Really delicious

A sweet waffle

But it's not exaggeratedly sweet

So it's not too strong, the flavor is just right good

A waffle that suits the Korean taste

Now we'll try ETi's pizza crackers

It looks a little salty

Smells to pizza, so small

It's kind of salty, but not exaggeratedly

It's difficult to pick them up

It's a snack that's written 'Gong'

Ball?

Cheese pepper?

The mix of cheese and pepper?

This looks like a puffed rice

Korean puffed rice

This is of my taste

Tastes like puffed rice with cheese and pepper powder

There's a similar snack in Korea

At Kore you eat it without seasoning

This one has seasoning powder

This suits with beer

There's one more 'Gong'

What's 'hardal'?

It's written 'hardal'

But we don't know what 'hardal' is

Has a sour smell

What was this?

Flavor such as what's on top of Cheetos

It's so realistic

It's not Cheetos

'It's what's on top of Cheetos'

The expressions of Cormie are great

What Cormie wanted to try

This?

What's 'Çubuk'?

It's not 'Çok Çok, 'Çubuk'

Like Pepero

Looks like Pepero

It almost doesn't have seasoning

A Pepero without chocolate

This is aso kind of salty

I first wondered what it would taste like

A taste you keep naturally eating

And there's a pretty fish shaped snack

I kind of can imagine the taste

There's also fins here

It's detailed

Snacks like this, usually taste like nothing

But it has a bit of salty taste

Looks similar to the Korean Goraebab

It's definitely different to Goraebab's taste

This taste is mild

This 'Balik' snack

It's normal

It got my attention since before

I'm not sure what this is

Looks like a ball of thread

When Baran sent us an email

He told us that here was a 'cotton snack'

A snack made of cotton?

It wouldn't really be made out of cotton right?

Is it a snack that looks like cotton?

What is this?

Looks like bread

Does it look like such because it melted?

Nowadays the whole Earth is hot

Seems like it stretches

I'm not sure if it's because it's 'cotton'

But tastes like cloth

Inside kind of

Isn't it it like this?

Doesn't it taste to thread?

Eating thread is funny

It's really unique, yummy

It's my first time trying things like such

If the shape didn't change it would be yummy

The sun dis wrong

It all melted

And this catches my eyes

It looks like healthy treats

There're things like this in Korea too

What was the brand name, Doctor..

'Doctor Who?'

That's a drama name

Maybe that was 'Dr. You'

A healthy, made out of healthy grains

There's a Korean snack brand

It's similar taste

It's pistachio flavor

And there's a snack

It's different from what I thought

I thought it would be squared

I thought it would be laid like this

Cheese flavor?

I dipped it in the coffee, what should I do

It's not just crackers

It was cheese crackers

Does this mean cheese?

Cheese flavored crackers, are there such things in Korea?

In Korean cheese crackers there's bunch of cheese

Below it's written 'cheese crackers'

We're both stupid

Do I need to eat this?

There's this still on top of my desk

Because this snack is so famous

We'll just skip it

Wouldn't the Turkish taste different?

Would it?

Should we try just one?

Seems a bit sweeter

It's the same

This shall go on my desk

Next it's a snack called 'CİN'

The emoticon besides is cute

There's something like orange jam

Fruity

Yummy

We found something good and new at the end

It's Fruity

The cracker is soft and the jam chewy

The fruitiness of the orange

Is this chocolate?

Wouldn't this do the role of sweetness?

Anyway sweet

And there's this

A red strawberry coated with chocolate

It melted a bit, looks like this

Has a strawberry scent

What?

There's res

And here's thin chocolate

There's strawberry inside

Is it dry strawberries?

The strawberry is like dried persimmon

And says it's coated on chocolate

It's coated on red chocolate

Yummy

It would be yummy if we would freeze it

On the freezer

It would be really yummy

Lastly

From all of those snacks

We tasted each one of them

I'm so full

If you eat that, I want to try the green one

But I'll eat this one

We ate Turkish snacks

Today we dis a new experience

Overall it felt like

It wasn't that salty

But also not that sweet, because of the unique tastes

There's some familiar tastes to Korea

There were many tastes that Koreans would like too

What's your favorite snack?

It's difficult to choose one

Overall they were all good

I liked 'Gong'

And the strawberry chocolate

It was better than what I thought

It's my first time watching dried strawberries

It would be yummy if you freeze it

If it weren't dried strawberries?

Then I can't do anything about it

I liked 'Gong' because it was similar to the Korean puffed rice

I like 'Balik' the small snacks

And the bit unique one was the sausage

That was really unique

The sausage with walnuts was unique

A taste difficult to imagine in Korea

What I said, the big one with honey

The waffle was really yummy

The best

I would eat it a lot if the sold it at Korea

The unique scent of the snacks were impressive

And the taste wasn't too overwhelming

So you can enjoy it regardless of age

Turkish snacks are really yummy

Today we experienced Turkish snacks

Thanks to our Turkish subscriber 'Ali İhsan Baran'

We could experience various Turkish snacks at Korea

We had a unique chance

And a few days later we'll go eat Turkish foods

Turkish foods you can find in Korea

It won't be that diverse

But we received ideas from our subscribers

So we will experience the Turkish food

Anyway

It was a good experience

Thank you for sending us the present

We could try Turkish snacks thanks to the present

And we also received a pretty t-shirt

I really like it

Seems like I need to sing 'Sen Olsan Bari'

Because we received a t-shirt, from now on I'm a fan of Galatasaray

Fenerbahçe or Beşiktaş fans

We can happily become one at Hoontamin

Today we experienced Turkish snacks

And we will experience Turkish foods later

Our trip to the fun contents will continue

Cyberpunkové ARPG/adventury 2018/2019 - preview (CZ/ENG subs) - Duration: 7:38.

Hi, I'm Rob Cram and today we're taking a look at upcoming cyberpunk games to watch out for.

There are quite a number of cyberpunk themed games spanning many years on consoles and PC

within enough genres to cater towards a variety of tastes.

While it's good to look back at some of the classics and perhaps boot them up again for nostalgia sake

like we suggested in our other videos what about looking forwards to the future?

Aside from Cyberpunk 2077 which might be some years away here are some other upcoming cyberpunk games

you might not be aware of with some coming sooner than others which you'll have to bear in mind.

First up and releasing later this year is Daedalic's futuristic 3D thriller State of Mind.

Set in a Berlin 2048 you play as a journalist Richard Nolan

one of the few criticizing the current state of affairs,

a world on the brink with the usual lack of resources,

mass illnesses caused by pollution, high crime rates, war, controlling governments

and mega companies, drones and humanoid robots replacing humans,

surveillance reign supreme.. you get the picture.

Having mysteriously lost his wife and son Nolan must delve deeper behind the scenes

to uncover a worldwide conspiracy whilst investigating sci-fi themes.

Sounds good and releases on consoles and PC in 2018 (15.8.18).

Next up is Brace Yourself Games' Industries of Titan,

an inspiring industrial city building sim strategy game set on Saturn's moon Titan.

There are some really impressive visuals here as you could star from scratch and then

work your way up to making your very own metropolis, complete with all the challenges that entails,

fend off hostiles, sort out the politics, resources

and manage every aspect of your new creation in real time gameplay.

You can even customize your defense ships.

The team are aiming for 2018 release but no specifics at the moment

other than that they are working hard to get it ready.

You visit the Steam store page which we will link in the description.

Odd Tales ltd are working on The Last Night

which you may have seen during the Xbox media briefing way back in 2017.

However no news appeared during E3 2018. We briefly converse with the lead developer Tim recently

who said they are working very hard on getting the game finished.

The final game will feature elements of exploration, infiltration, conversation and action.

It's penciled in for 2018 on Xbox and PC at the moment

and looking like an excellent cyberpunk themed game to look forward to

sooner rather than later. Keep your eyes peeled.

Premise of The Last Night - because of childhood accident the hero can't use augmentations

and consume mass entertainment. He is disheartened by pointless world around him.

One day he is presented with an opportunity to take matters into his own hands

but at what risk?

Next up is Sense, a cyberpunk ghost story

which recently had a very successful Kickstarter campaign receiving 6x more than what was asked.

This is cyberpunk themed point & click adventure which features some very distinctive artworks,

interesting looking characters but with a touch of survival horror thrown in as well.

Considering the success of the Kickstarter this one is coming first to PC then PS4 and Switch.

But out of all the games on our list there is a playable demo available now

which you can find on their campaign page.

The only real down here is the game won't release until Q2 2019 on PC and Q3 on consoles.

Sense take place in Neo Hong Kong and the main hero is girl named Mae Lin Mak

who is seeing strange ghosts. Because of that

she is questioning the correct function of her cybernetic eyes (should be gameplay element).

To avoid the nightmares she must uncover the mystery of "ghosts" in a dystopian city.

You can expect strong exploration, chinese folklore, choices and usage of items.

The Nothing - cyberpunk game in early development using Unreal Engine which holds much promise.

Small development studio has some lofty goals with this action RPG

with some 12 endings planned and plenty of backstory.

They will be looking for a Kickstarter backing at some point to move things along quicker.

So far premise sounds well thought-out. Set in post 2060 where the elites live in utopian cities

as long as they have enough wealth. Anyone else is deported to LA underbelly which is where you come in.

In an attempt to save your dying mother your character Dresden, a skilled systems engineer,

trades his former life for work with the main mega corporation PXL.

Without going into any more story detail it sounds highly ambitious.

Regarding story - Dresden paid all his wealth for cure for his mother

so then he is deported to LA slum, but PXL hires him to infiltrate terorist groups

that threaten their Utopia. But hero has no clue what is really going on...

Expect ARPG in open world, different missions, hacking,

transport vehicles (flying cars, electro-bikes),

cyber interface between human brain and computer (part of a story) etc.

And last but not least is Low-fi giving its current working title.

It's a new VR experience from the developer Iris VR who brought us Technolust.

This new experience is not a direct sequel to Technolust but set within the same universe.

As you can see from the gameplay it certainly has some dark cyberpunk visuals

comprising of craft based navigation and interior scenes.

Considering how great their previous work has been

this is certainly shaping up to be a must-have VR experience.

Ok, well that's some food for thought and if I've missed any then please post in the comments.

In the meantime here is some more Low-fi in action.

BTW this RPG is also cyberpunk inspired: www.mujweb.cz/farflame/technomancer.htm

SHK HeroForce Episode 2: TRAPPED IN THE HOUSE! Top Secret Game Master Mystery Portal Revealed - Duration: 17:38.

Don't you worry Torch, I'm going to get you out of there.

Uh oh!

Torch! Murk! Have you found the ring yet?

Hi sir. Uh

Something kind of went wrong.

Well the kids they, they kind of saw us and uh

They captured Torch.

Yeah! This idiot somehow is responsible for getting me stuck in a thumb drive!

And it is one hundred percent his fault

But don't you worry! I'm going to get him out. Everything is going to be just fine. I've been working on it all night and I think I'm really close...

Why did I think I could trust you two imbeciles to do this job!

I'm sending someone else through Game-Bot to collect the ring.

You both have failed me.

I'll show him.

I'm going to get you out of there Torch!

I still don't see anyone. That big frog isn't going to come back.

What was his name again?

Murk.

One of the two first level bosses in HeroForce.

I thought you were asleep Game-Bot.

I needed to recharge my power supply.

You three can be very taxing.

Incoming Call: Game Master

Ah! Fire drill! Get away, get away!

Game Master - Hey guys! How are you holding up?

Pretty good. We haven't had any attacks so far.

Game Master - Yeah, you guys gotta stay safe!

We're trying, no thanks to you Game Master. Can't you just suck those troll guys back into the video game or something?

Game Master - I told you Hope. I'm just an NPC.

NPC?

NPC Non Playable Character

It's a video game term.

Oh so it basically means you're not important.

Well that's harsh.

Me and Eden are going to go check it out. Noah, you stay here.

Oh come on! I can help!

Not after that stunt you pulled last night.

You stay here and keep watch.

Why are these stupid troll guys even here?

There is something very dangerous in this house and a lot of bad people are trying to get it.

What are you two gaping at?

Whoah, whoah, whoah! Stop it right there!

It is not cool to make fun of somebody's weight issues.

Haha! He is stuck in the window!

Wait, so there's something dangerous hidden here?

What is it?

They are called the power rings.

Oh no! We need to find that power ring. Stat!

And if the bad guys get their hands on it, it is not going to be good.

You need to start looking somewhere.

Where?

Think! Where did you find Game-Bot?

The attic!

Huh?

(Laughing)

Are you ladies done?

I think this is going to be a lot easier than we thought.

Yeah, the real question is do we keep him trapped in there or do we get him out?

Oh I know what I'd pick! Getting me outta here!

What did Game-Bot say last night?

Something about them getting hurt?

They get pixelated and unstable. I think that's why we were able to capture Torch in the thumb drive.

Ah ha! So all we need to do is find the thumb drive!

Guys! We have a big problem!

(Door bell)

The realtor!

We are so screwed!

I can't believe we forgot the realtor was coming today!

How are we going to hide this ginormous troll that is stuck in our laundry room window?

Uh, does she have an extra key?

Noah, you stay here and watch Murk.

Come on stupid key.

Oh hi! Nice to meet you!

I'm Hope! Well this is the house. As you can see it is in good shape. See you next week. Bye!

Hi there Hope. Any chance your parents are home?

Oh my parents are checking out the new house we're moving into right now.

It really would be better if you came back when they were here.

Well I'll just need to take a look around the property to see what kind of condition it's in.

Honey don't hold your mouth open like that.

You'll drool.

Great, is that everything you need? The door is over here. I can show you?

No?

Oh no, no, no! Don't go over there. That part is not important. That's just the laundry room!

Guys we have a big pro....

Yeah we have a problem and the problem is

The house is in such good shape it might blow your mind!

Hi I'm Noah! Let me show you around!

This house is really cool. I'll show you upstairs!

Coming!

What are we going to do?

Okay, all we have to do is keep Murk out of sight until the realtor leaves.

That can't be too hard, right?

Hey you locked the door! I'm trying to get some food here!

Eden hurry! Go get your launcher!

Now for the main show stopper! The carpet!

It's pretty cool right?

It's right here.

Do you like it?

It's white.

I don't have time for this nonsense.

But I will inspect the attic before I go.

Oh yeah, the attic is super cool! We found a lot of video game stuff yesterday!

Oh really?

You want to see?

Come on!

Come on! I almost got it!

Eden hurry! I don't know how much longer I can...

Where's the food?

Over there! Over there!

Why don't you guys have any good food?

Hey meatloaf!

Come at me you big bull frog!

Oh you're asking for it!

No fair.

That was me and Torch's trick.

Oh yeah?

Trick this!

Did you say trick this?

Don't judge me! I panicked and I'm not good at come backs and you know this!

Wait!

Where's Noah?

Here's the attic.

It's pretty cool, right?

Are you looking for something?

I'm going to go check on my sisters and see if they are alright.

Nonsense Noah.

I think you should stay up here!

Thanks for the offer but I'm going to have to pass.

It wasn't an offer child.

Hey, I'm okay!

(snoring)

Noah?

Found him yet?

Nothing.

I can't find the realtor either.

That's not good.

(Incoming Call: Game Master. Accept)

Guys are you okay?

Yeah, we were able to capture Murk in the thumb drive.

That's good but that's not what I'm talking about.

Wait, what do you mean?

Somebody bad came through Game-Bot portal not long ago.

Oh no! The realtor!

Noah!

The attic!

I demand to know where the coding room is!

(snoring)

Wake up child!

Ha, ha that tickles doggy.

(snoring loudly)

Whoah!

You!

Leave our brother alone!

Yeah evil video game lady!

Wow! Didn't hold back there did ya?

I'm very flustered at the moment Hope and I don't need sarcasm

You children think you can take on me?

Me?

I am Queen Vanessa, Ruler of the Land of Sorrow, and you will not get in my…

(Toy laughing)

I think he wants to play with you.

Don't get hit!

Her blasts make you fall asleep!

Stay still child! Curse you!

Eden! Hit her with the vaporizer!

Eat laser evil queen lady!

Wow.

You are nailing it today.

Hey Torch?

What?

Murk

You know this ain't actually that bad?

It's kind of cozy if you ask me!

Murk, we are trapped inside a thumb drive you lump!

Yeah, but at least we ain't getting beat up by them stupid kids no more!

You just had to say something.

Didn't ya

How did you miss? She was right there!

I didn't miss. She reflected it with a mirror!

Well blast her again!

Fine!

I'll get it.

No, bad idea! Bad idea!

Ha! Some super power. It doesn't even...

(snoring)

Wait! I have an idea!

What? No, no, no! No more ideas!

You want the ring?

I'll show you where the ring is but first you tell me what you know about it.

You think I'm powerful now?

This is nothing compared to the power I will have once I get the ring for the boss.

The boss says once I get the ring it will update us and give us so much power!

Now where is it?

Then we will make sure you and your boss will never get those rings!

You will regret that child.

That's nonsense your majesty.

No! No, no, no!

(Toy laughing)

Did you see that Hope?

I had a zinger!

(snoring)

Of course.

Good job Eden!

You said you know where the ring is.

How did you know that?

Well I don't know where to find it but I do know how.

How?

Whoah!

4-2-3-1 - Leno, Lacazette & Torreira all start: My Arsenal line-up vs Cardiff - Duration: 5:18.

Arsenal will look to head in to the international break off the back of another win when we take on Cardiff in Wales on Sunday afternoon

This is the line-up I'd like Unai Emery to select….Goalkeeper: Leno Cech has been installed as Emery's No.1 and no doubt he'll keep his place tomorrow but I'd like to see Leno given his chance

I find it odd that the club spent £22m on a new goalkeeper – a position we badly needed to upgrade – only to leave him on the bench

I get he might need a bit of time to adapt but I'd throw him in to action tomorrow

No time like the present.Defence: Bellerin, Sokratis, Mustafi, Monreal.Koscielny is back in light training after making good progress in his recovery from Achilles surgery but the French international is still several weeks away from being available for selection so we'll have to stick with Mustafi alongside Sokratis

Some fans have been calling for Lichtsteiner to come in at right-back as Bellerin has been caught out defensively several times already this season but I think the Spaniard offers too much going forward to be dropped

Monreal proved his worth yet again with another important goal last weekend so obviously he should continue at left-back in the absence of Kolasinac – who's still recovering from a knee injury

Midfield: Torreira, Ramsey, Ozil.Surely it's time to give Torreira his full debut?! Guendouzi was excellent in the first two games but his level dropped against West Ham and this is what we're going to get with a youngster who's barely had any experience of first team football at a top club

Torreira was signed to be our defensive shield in front of the defence so I don't understand why we're messing around

Just start the Uruguayan international and give Guendouzi the time he needs to develop as a player

Xhaka's inconsistencies were exposed again last week. He's an important player when we're in possession as he moves the ball quickly through the lines but he's a liability when the other team attacks

He never tracks his runner or offers any protection so unfortunately I think the cons outweigh the pros

Ramsey played in the advanced midfield position against West Ham but I still think he's more effective further back in a box-to-box role

I think a partnership of Ramsey and Torreira has a lot of potential if the Welshman can get the balance right between defence and attack

It's going to be interesting to see whether Ozil starts amid reports that he called in sick last week after being told he would be on the bench against West Ham

I think he's too good a player to be dropped but he certainly has to listen to what Emery wants from him and press from the front

I'd like to see Mesut deployed just ahead of Torreira and Ramsey in a midfield three tomorrow

Attack: Mkhitaryan, Aubameyang, Lacazette.Emery has suggested he's not ready to start Lacazette and Aubameyang together but I think it's a big mistake

We look far more dangerous going forward when they're on the pitch together and Auba has already said he's happy to play out wide – where he played for Dortmund – in order to accommodate Laca up front

The French international has made a huge impact whenever he's come off the bench this season so he deserves to start against Cardiff

I just hope Emery gives Aubameyang a chance on the wing, too. That would mean Iwobi dropping out as I'd stick with Mkhitaryan in attack

Iwobi has started the season well but I think an attack of Mkhitaryan, Ozil, Auba and Laca is a mouth-watering prospect

It might be too attacking to start in some of the tougher games but I think we'd run riot against Cardiff

While this is the team I'd go with, in reality I think Emery will select Cech; Bellerin, Mustafi, Sokratis, Monreal; Xhaka, Torreira, Ozil; Ramsey, Iwobi, Aubameyang. Either way, let's hope the boys bring home another three points and send us in to the international break in buoyant mood

What Do DJs Actually Do? - Duration: 4:01.

My name is A-Trak, I'm a DJ, producer,

record label owner.

The sort of, like, science of DJing,

if you try to boil it down too much to a simple

description of beatmatching, for example,

definitely like an intangible to it.

On a very simple level, beatmatching is what you

call matching the tempo of one song to the next song

that's playing so that you have a continuous beat.

And just going back to the basic idea that DJs

keep people dancing.

You're able to keep the tempo steady as you go from

song to song.

It's actually a pretty easy technique, but DJing itself

is not that easy and I think the real role of the DJ is

selection, it's picking songs and having a sense of

what to play and when.

And that's the part that's harder to break down or explain.

What really differentiates a good DJ

from a not so good DJ is

selection and taste and sense of timing

and also knowing how to adapt to different crowds.

That's probably the biggest thing that DJs have to learn

is to understand not only what to play and when

but in which setting.

You can't play the same set everywhere.

Electronic music's been around since the late '70s,

early '80s.

So electronic music isn't new but EDM is this newer,

bigger, more polished manifestation of it.

And when it really broke in America, at the beginning of

this decade, it's also when certain songs were

really bona fide pop songs, and were playing on the radio.

New audiences embraced these big records that had a

universal appeal, and by the same token embraced

the producers and DJs who were behind those records.

More and more of these festivals started popping up.

I think that confused a lot of people.

Just seeing a DJ essentially play songs

that were already made,

on the stage where they'd be used to seeing

the Red Hot Chili Peppers or something.

People were questioning whether

DJs were really just pressing

play and that became a bit of a buzzword,

"pressing play" or "button pusher."

The range of different styles that started existing

got almost too big to just categorize as one thing.

So, do some DJs just go up and press play and

phone in the same set at a lot of events?

Yeah.

Does that mean that all DJs do that, no.

A lot of DJs have true craftsmanship and art

to what they do.

Usually the argument that most people will give

and that I was just giving also is that DJs don't

really play the same set everywhere and we're

mixing live and all this stuff.

But in some cases when the show is so big, that you

get into a place where there actually is literally pyro

and effects that need to be timed and this and that,

then you'll have a DJ who plans their set.

But even that to me, can be compared to theater.

When you go watch theater, it's pre-planned but it's

great entertainment.

In the case of a DJ, the DJ is doing a sort of

mise-en-scène, of songs that they know the crowd

will enjoy hearing.

And songs that they are sometimes connected to or

that they made.

And translating that into a show that will work

in front of 60,000 people.

There's an art to that too.

The control of energy is kind of magical

and undeniable.

And that's a big part of the art too.

So between that and

the sort of sonic wizardry

that happens with the knobs on here,

it definitely isn't something to be diminished.

Talking Dragon Age: The Varterral - Duration: 7:48.

Welcome back to Talking Dragon Age, the show where I talk about Dragon Age.

Last episode was pretty heavy, so I want to go with a bit simpler this time.

So today, we're talking about the mighty varterral.

The varterral is a huge bug-like...thing, that sounds on 5 legs, has a thin body with

a head and two arms.

Despite it's size, it is very, very fast.

We only ever see them in close quarters, but I dread to think how fast these things could

move in an open field.

It can also jump very high, due to it's powerful legs.

Now, varterrals only appear in the main series 3 times.

The first is in Witch Hunt, in the Dragonbone Wastes.

I'll talk more about each of these in a bit.

The second one, we actually encounter twice.

The first time is during Merrill's quest to obtain the arulin'holm, where we find that

the varterral has killed four Dalish hunters.

We slay it, but we encounter it again 3 years later while looking for Zevran.

Hawke asks why it's still alive, and Merrill says "It was bound here.

So long as it has something to guard, duty will force it to stay alive."

The most recent time a varterral appears in the main series is in The Masked Empire.

The really short version is that the party goes through an eluvian, and ends up in an

ancient elven temple of sorts.

Then, the varterral defending the place crashes through the ceiling.

I feel like if I was bound to defend a place, I wouldn't collapse in the ceiling for any reason.

This one is different than the others encountered in the games.

This one's outer skin is like solid rock.

Swords and arrows just bounce off of it.

The others were made from wood.

This one also had no eyes.

It was only able to locate people by feeling the ground.

So when the party stood on benches and stuff, it couldn't find them.

The party killed it by attacking it's underside, which was a far softer material.

On the others, we see that same kind of thing.

Now let's talk about how they work.

The one encountered in the Dragonbone Wastes was especially vicious.

Ariane didn't even think they were real, but according to legend, they shouldn't have attacked

elves, meaning something must have provoked it.

Now I want to bring up the fact that the varterral was strangely missing during our first visit

to the Wastes in Awakening.

It's especially odd because that was where the Mother had made her base.

I would assume the darkspawn just kept killing it again and again.

And it's possible that during this time, the varterral contracted the taint, explaining

it's vicious behaviour.

In DAII, Merrill says the varterral shouldn't have attacked elves, and that something must

have provoked it to attack the Dalish.

We still don't exactly know what that was.

Maybe one of the hunters got jumpy and attacked it by mistake?

That seems unlikely, but possible.

Or, the elves did something they weren't supposed to do.

Perhaps taking an artifact that belonged there, or maybe disregarding a ritual the varterral

assumed they should have known about?

I really don't know.

The point is that it DOES attack the elves when they enter the cave, but it doesn't seek

them out on the outside.

Varterrals are bound to defend certain places or objects.

They do so even when the place is no longer standing.

This varterral was most likely protecting the mountain, as it did have historical significance

to the elves.

But let's take some time to talk about their origin.

The tale is outlined in the Dragon Age II Codex, where it basically says the first was

created by Dirthamen before the days of Arlathan, when a high dragon settled in the mountains

near a city of his worshippers.

The citizens begged him to protect them, and according to legend, he whispered to the mountains

and the fallen trees of the forest gathered into shape - the varterral.

The varterral battled and defeated the high dragon, and became the eternal defender of

Dirthamen's beloved city.

Even after the empire crumbled and the citizens abandoned their city,

the varterral kept to its duty.

And even to this day, the varterral continues to guard the land where the city once stood.

Given what we know about the ancient elves now, I can actually totally believe most of this.

Maybe not the whispering to the mountains part, but Dirthamen creating the varterral

to defend his city from a high dragon?

Sounds totally believable.

After his first success, I could see him and the other Evanuris creating them to defend

their most sacred places.

Now, where this city was is anyone's guess.

It's possible it was on Sundermount, but we can't say for sure.

It really could have been anywhere.

We should talk a bit about how they are bound.

Keeping to their duty even after what they defended is long abandoned?

Well, it reminds me of the spirits we encounter in Fen'Harel's refuge in Trespasser.

Though for them, Cole says "The guardian spirits stayed.

Not bound but biding.

Because he asked.

He knows how to speak so spirits listen."

So either the varterrals do their thing for similar reasons, or they were actually properly bound.

That may assume that the varterrals are spirits bound to the bug-like body of wood or stone.

I'm not sure what else they could be.

Even in the days before the Veil, you couldn't just create life.

They would be similar to a golem, except without lyrium.

Of course, that's just conjecture.

I'm just going off what we've been told so far.

I could be totally wrong.

It's possible that the varterrals just existed the same as any other animal.

But that doesn't really explain their biology.

They definitely seem fabricated.

So I think that's about it.

One thing I want to mention is that there wasn't one in the Temple of Mythal despite

the clear significance.

I mean, this temple was a BIG DEAL.

There was the Well of Sorrows and several eluvians, not to mention all the other stuff.

The reason for this is probably just because Mythal didn't think it necessary at the time.

She had elven defenders, and she didn't really think anyone would invade until it was too late.

Or maybe there was one there, but the other evanuris knew how to destroy it permanently.

We'll probably encounter one in the future.

Maybe in another ancient ruin defending an artifact that Solas wants or that we need to stop him.

Maybe he's already there and you're trying to stop him, but the place's varterral ignores

him but attacks you?

Ooh, maybe you need to turn it against him somehow!

Of course, maybe none of that happens.

Maybe it's just an inconsequential fight during a side quest.

Oh!

Maybe Tevinter killed one and captured it before it revived, and are now holding it for study?!

Or maybe the qunari are the ones doing that.

I could buy either of them being that heartless and stupid.

But that's all speculation, I'll be amazed if any of that happens.

The point today is that varterrals are ancient guardians similar to golems in that they're

constructs, but they aren't given life by lyrium.

Rather, they're probably possessed by a spirit bound to the service of whomever made it.

Or, the origin of their life is something we don't know is possible yet.

I hope we encounter one in the future.

Which, as I say it, I realize is a weird thing to hope for.

Anyway, that's it for now, guys!

Thank you all so much for watching, and remember: tela nadas.

VIENNA PASS for Prater, Madam Tussauds, Danube Tower, and UN HQ - Duration: 8:32.

[Music]

This is actually the quietest I've seen it since I've been here.

It's only about 8:30 or 8:45 right now. And in a couple of hours, the tourist will hit

this place and it will be packed.

People as far as the eye can see.

So it's actually really nice to be here right now and see that it is actually quite calm.

It's day two of our Vienna pass excursion.

I am on the "blue line" right now, which is the Danube line.

And I am going to go to the Danube tower.

I'm also going to go to the Prater Museum.

I think it's a park where I can get on a really big Ferris wheel.

So, really looking forward to that too.

I haven't been on a Ferris wheel in a long time.

Another beautiful day in Vienna.

It's funny, because it was supposed to rain the entire time that I was here.

At least according to the weather app on my iPhone.

So, I've really lucked out.

The downside is it's a little sweaty, and a little sunburn-y.

I'm getting a little bit of a job done on my nose and I don't have any sunscreen.

So I will just be a little more careful, drink lots of water, and enjoy the day.

[Music]

By the way, we are in an amusement park called the Prater.

It used to be a hunting ground for the Habsburgs.

And in the 1700s, they gave the land back to the people because the people should be

able to enjoy it.

And, over time, it turned into an amusement park.

This is what you have.

There are rides everywhere, lots of places to eat and drink, and a giant Ferris wheel

that we are going on right now.

Oooh!

Bumper cars!

It is 65 m high and it was featured in a film called "The Third Man" - which was voted the

best film of the century in the 1990s.

But I think I will go up in the Ferris wheel, and when I get home, I'll see if it's o Netflix.

Here we go to the Ferris wheel.

[Music]

Well, that does it for the Ferris wheel.

It was kind of fun.

It was good to see the city like that.

I'm not sure if it was something that I would have paid for on my own but it was worth it.

It was worth going up.

Now I see behind me is Madame Tussauds, and I know that's free with the Vienna Card.

Again, not something that I would ever go and pay for myself, but since it's free,

and since I'm here, I might as well see what celebrities I can hook up with over there.

So that's where we're going next.

I have to admit that the only reason I want to go into Madame Tussaud's in the first

place is to realize my dream of getting my picture taken with a waxy Justin Bieber.

And I'm just going to assume he's in here somewhere.

So let's go take a look.

[Music]

I just noticed now that they have the type of lights in here that are built to prevent

you from filming.

You'll notice the flickering on the screen.

So, sorry about that, but unfortunately that's the way they've got it.

And I guess I shouldn't have expected anything different.

[Music]

This was every bit as tacky as I totally expected it and wanted it to be.

But at least I got to meet Justin Bieber.

And Morgan Freeman, if he wasn't so creepy now.

[Music]

One of the things I've been looking forward to most on this whole trip to Vienna was going

up into the Danube tower.

It's the tallest structure in Austria.

250-something meters.

So it will be very cool to be able to go up there and look down.

We'll see.

Michael: "Hi.

I want to use my Vienna card.

How much is a ticket normally?"

Attendant: "14.50€"

Michael: "OK, thank you very much."

So we are at the top of the Danube tower right now.

Let's go take a look at what it looks like from up here.

[Music]

Right now, I am at the United Nations in Vienna.

Most people don't realize it.

They think that New York is the only place that has a UN headquarters.

But there's actually three others.

There is one in Geneva.

There is one in Nairobi.

And there is one right here in Vienna.

Unfortunately, I won't be able to do the tour because it's a little bit later and

I don't have a lot of time.

But it's pretty impressive.

I actually tried to see if I could get a tour, but the next tour is at 3:30, and right

now it is about 2:30.

And honestly it's way too hot to wait in the sun.

I'm actually going to go back downtown and see there is to do down there.

Actually, I'm a little bit hungry.

I was in that café but all I had was a beer. Just as an excuse to get the panorama you saw it.

And, yeah, so we'll just go downtown and enjoy the rest of the day. Oh, cool building!

[Piano Music]

How London's streets are paved with dirty money - Duration: 25:25.

Looking up on an autumn evening at the windows of Britain's most expensive and desirable apartment block, One Hyde Park, it is hard not to notice an odd anomaly

Very few of the lights are burning. But whoever lives at One Hyde Park, most of them don't appear to spend much time at home

This is not unusual. With a group of friends, I help run trips called the London Kleptocracy Tours: we fill up a bus with 50 sightseers, rather as if we were taking them round Hollywood to see where Clark Gable used to live or Scarlett Johansson gets her hair cut

Instead of showing them stars, however, we show them more dubious characters. RELATED ARTICLES Previous 1 2 Next Boy, 13, dies of cancer after A&E doctors sent him home FIVE

Joy for Alfie Evans' parents as they give birth to a little. Armed gang of moped muggers 'smashed their way across London

Share this article Share On the route is Eaton Square in Belgravia, now perhaps London's most prestigious address — a magnificent oblong of grand, cream-painted, four-square houses behind shoulder-height black railings

One of the cheapest at a mere £15 million was recently commandeered by anarchist squatters

It belongs to Andrei Goncharenko, a manager at a subsidiary of the Russian gas giant Gazprom, who bought a string of properties in the capital between 2011 and 2014

Goncharenko's temptingly empty mansion was just one of 86 properties on Eaton Square alone that is held via the kind of anonymous financial constructs that prevent anyone, including the taxman, from finding out who the true owners are

Any one of these properties could be owned by a crook, but it's impossible to say which ones

One apartment stretches across a single floor of two adjoining buildings, and cost £13m: it is owned by Cane Garden Services Ltd, a British Virgin Islands company that is registered in London at a betting shop on the Caledonian Road — a part of North London where you'd be more likely to find takeaways

Is this a red flag? Perhaps, or perhaps not. When you start looking for red flags, you see them everywhere

Two houses, Nos. 85 and 102, are both owned by companies registered in Hong Kong. The Liberian company that owns No

73 is registered in Monaco. RELATED ARTICLES Previous 1 2 Next Boy, 13, dies of cancer after A&E doctors sent him home FIVE

Joy for Alfie Evans' parents as they give birth to a little. Armed gang of moped muggers 'smashed their way across London

Share this article Share One flat in No. 86 is owned by the Panoceanic Trading Corporation, a Panama company whose name appears to belong in a Sixties spy thriller by Len Deighton or Ian Fleming

Surely a crook wouldn't be that obvious? Or is this a double bluff?Faceless companies based in the British Virgin Islands in the Caribbean own some 30 of these properties

Thirteen more are in Guernsey, 16 in Jersey. Others are in Panama, Liechtenstein, the Isle of Man, Delaware, the Cayman Islands, Liberia, the Seychelles, Mauritius and St Vincent and the Grenadines

Goncharenko himself preferred Gibraltar as home for his company MCA Shipping. And Eaton Square is just one example

Just as many properties in the adjoining streets are owned offshore, all intermeshed in a great web of confusion and deceit that extends as far as Britain does and then much further

The rich businessmen, corrupt politicians, larcenous public officials and drug traffickers hiding in the web are able to pick and choose what laws they obey

British law requires people to publicly declare their company ownership. The law in Mauritius does not

Those who can afford to base their companies offshore are granted a privacy that is denied to everyone else

The rich have set up a new global nation, an invisible country that I call Moneyland

It has no geographical borders, and its financial regulations are as flexible as smoke

It exists solely to enable the wealthy and corrupt to hide money and avoid taxes. By some estimates, a fifth of all the world's cash is currently secreted in Moneyland, where governments cannot see it, let alone levy taxes on it

Borders are for the little people. Moneyland is a place where passports of many nations are for sale

And yet British laws can be made to apply, when convenient: our libel laws can be invoked to silence reporters, for example

In Moneyland, you really can pick and choose the rules. .Jersey, now a financial centre in its own right, began helping Britons to hide their money in the Sixties

Its speciality is the trust, a tool that allowed families to pass down property through the generations without paying tax on it

You might live in a Mayfair penthouse, for example, worth millions –— but if it was owned by a trust based in Jersey, with a legal arrangement to pass it to your grandchildren on your death, you could sidestep death duties

Jersey is a very wealthy community, thanks to the offshore business. Not everywhere fares so well

The Caribbean island of Nevis, where there is no corporate tax levied on companies registered there, is the legal base of 18,000 companies

Far fewer people actually live on the island — and many of those who do earn subsistence wages as cooks and cleaners for those operating the international businesses

Billions of dollars from Russia alone have been funnelled through Nevis. Who controlled them, and who profits, cannot be said: the island has a strict policy of secrecy around all business matters

All questions are met with a wall of silence. Moneyland is a recent invention. Once upon a time, if a corrupt official stole millions, there wasn't much he could do with it

He could buy himself a nice car or build himself a new house, or give it to friends and relatives, but his appetites were limited by the fact that the local market could not absorb endless sums of embezzled money

The banknotes would just pile up in his house until they were eaten by mice. Two things changed the economics of illegal cash: the arrival of offshore finance, and shell companies

Some people call shell companies 'getaway cars for dodgy money' but, when combined with electronic financial systems, they are more like magical teleporter boxes: stash your stolen funds in a shell company, press a button and it is spirited away out of your country to any destination you choose

The best way to think of a shell company is like a bag for dog's mess. The embezzled money or untaxed income is the dirty stuff that no one wants to touch

Once it's inside a bag, it's easier to handle. Pop that bag into another bag, and slip that bag inside another, and now nobody can even tell that the mess in the middle ever existed

Shell companies are just empty bags. It's almost impossible to tell who owns them, since they're typically set up in one country — for example, the Bahamas — and then wrapped in another bag or company, set up somewhere else entirely — for instance, the Isle of Man

Repeat this process until not even an army of forensic accountants could unwrap all the bags and find the dirty money

That's the sleight of hand that makes Moneyland so impenetrable to tax collectors and banking regulators

Because it doesn't exist on any map, no government can declare war on Moneyland and send in an army, implement sanctions or despatch diplomats for talks

But there are physical doorways into Moneyland, like rabbitholes, if you know where to look

One of these is No. 29 Harley Street, on the tree-lined road running north from Oxford Street, the home of private healthcare

No. 29 is a stone-fronted terrace house, barely five minutes walk from the Royal Society of Medicine, with a dark-stained wooden front door

As of April 2016, it was the legal address of 2,159 shell companies. One, Blythe (Europe) Ltd, was registered on Harley Street but owned by P&A Corporate Services Trust Reg, of Vaduz, Liechtenstein — a central European micro-principality which has mysteriously survived into the modern age, and which does not reveal who owns its companies

Blythe owned an Austrian company, which owned a Ukrainian company called Tantalit, and that owned a five-storey luxury log-built palace outside Kiev called Mezhyhirya

In 2014 it was seized by Ukrainian rebels, who overthrew the country's deeply corrupt president, Viktor Yanukovich

At a time when the economy of Ukraine was stagnant and its people were destitute, President Yanukovich had amassed a fortune of hundreds of millions of dollars

His obscene wealth was no secret, but when rebels burst into the palace grounds they were staggered by what they discovered

An ostrich collection inhabited a private zoo, amid water gardens, a golf course, a nouveau-Grecian temple, a marble horse and an enclosure for shooting wild boar

Inside the cabin were waterfalls, fountains and statues. It was a cathedral of kitsch — which also featured an oriental temple carved from elephants' tusks, a Picasso vase, antique rifles and swords, corridors lined with portraits of the president, and a flayed crocodile pinned to a wall

All this, remember, was owned not by Yanukovich but by Blythe (Europe) Ltd, which was to be found in the highly respectable confines of No

29 Harley Street. It's like discovering that the New Jersey mob was operating out of a Quaker meeting house

The appeal of No. 29 to a greed-drunk thug like Yanukovich is obvious: it gave a respectable gloss to what was essentially an act of identity fraud

Of course Blythe had no physical presence in Harley Street — like the 2,158 other companies registered there, it had no need of filing cabinets or conference rooms

They just needed the address, a sort of posh postbox. The real tenant, since 2001, has been a company called Formations House: its role is to create new companies

A standard limited company costs just £95.According to the website of Formations House, more than 10 million companies have been conjured into existence at the address in the past 16 years

For a monthly fee, these businesses can pretend that No. 29 Harley Street is their physical home

Receptionists will answer the phone in any company's name, and forward mail, thus conferring glamour and respectability

It isn't only money that can be laundered. Reputations can be cleaned up in Moneyland too

There is an established pathway for rich foreigners to enhance their respectability, by using the UK's libel laws to their advantage

They hire a PR agency to put them in touch with useful parliamentarians, either MPs or lords, who agree to act as patrons of the billionaire's charitable foundation

This generous institution launches amid much razzamatazz in London, promising to educate children or promote sport for the disabled

The billionaire hosts conferences with minor royals and former politicians among the speakers

He invites ministers for working holidays aboard his yacht. Now he has a media profile and a reputation as a philanthropist to protect

If any journalist, anywhere in the world, makes hints or accusations about the shady sources of his billions, he can sue for defamation — in the British courts

The claims don't even have to appear in British publications: it's enough that the billionaire's lawyers can prove that, because of the internet, the allegations spread to the UK

Libel cases in this country can end in multi-million pound settlements — enough to bankrupt just about any journalist

London has been at the heart of Moneyland since the beginning. After World War II, Allied economists drew up worldwide financial safeguards, such as the International Monetary Fund, to prevent dictators from manipulating the money supply and stoking wars by ruining their neighbours

To prevent speculators from trying to attack this system of fixed currencies, cross-border money flow was severely constrained

That was why, as recently as the late Seventies, strict limits were imposed on how much cash British tourists could take when holidaying abroad

The system started to come apart at the seams in the Sixties, with the invention by bankers of so called 'eurobonds' — pieces of paper that represented cash held in Swiss banks and other hidden places

When the bonds reached their maturity date, they paid out with interest, to whoever was holding them

There was no signature required, no log-book, no deed of ownership, and because they stemmed from offshore funds — beyond the British and every other major government's reach — they attracted no tax

Eurobonds were developed by banker Siegmund Warburg, and the bond issue was led by one of his most brilliant fixers, a Scottish war hero-turned-journalist turned banker called Ian Fraser

To avoid paying British taxes on the bonds, Fraser formally issued them at Schiphol airport in the Netherlands and arranged for interest to be paid in Luxembourg where it attracted negligibletax

Despite these contortions, he persuaded the London Stock Exchange to list the bonds

Bingo: a highly convenient bond that paid good interest, attracted no tax and could be turned into cash anywhere in the world

Unsurprisingly, eurobonds were very attractive to military dictators in Africa and South America, looking for some means of stashing away loot quickly

This was a lot more practical than a mansion full of banknotes. But warlords and corrupt politicians made up only 20 per cent of the investors: four-fifths of eurobonds were bought by ordinary, law-abiding people, wealthy upper-middle class Europeans who disliked giving so much of their hard-earned salaries to the national treasury — 'Belgian dentists', in banking parlance

This is the tip of Moneyland's most powerful secret. It does not exist only for the organised criminals, the drug dealers and industrial-scale embezzlers

Anyone with cash to hide from the government can take advantage of its systems, and that means Moneyland is protected by the complicity of huge numbers of wealthy people

Just because most of Moneyland's wealth does not stem directly from corruption and crime, that doesn't make it harmless

The damage goes far deeper than Belgian dentists avoiding tax. When such practices become more accepted among certain wealthy groups, the attitude spread downwards, until it affected much more of society

That's why Moneyland brings double standards — and sometimes corruption — right to our doorstep

We cannot ignore it, yet there's a prevalent attitude in the UK that, as long as this dirty money is flowing into our economy and not out, we can afford to turn a blind eye

Britain is a friendly place for Moneylanders: there's a reason why so many Russian oligarchs have homes in London, and it's not the weather

But violence and lawlessness is only the push of a button on a bank's computer screen away from here now

The misery in distant countries will become our misery, too, if we don't act to stop it
