Youtube daily report Sep 25 2018

I grew up in a small village in England. I've lived that my whole life and

growing up I've been surrounded by quite a few other minorities with different

backgrounds. However I went to a predominately white school meaning there

weren't many people of color. In my class I was the only black person as well as

the only Pacific Islander. Obviously people would ask me where I was from.

They would say stuff like, "so what are you? Where are you from?" And I used to lie.

I lied about where I was from because not many people know the country I'm

from. And I thought if I said a more recognizable country I didn't pass my

classmates. I would reply, "oh you know I'm just from southern France." I made people

believe that I was from a country even though I wasn't. I remember feeling so

embarrassed about where my family's from and being so discouraged because I

didn't know anyone else other than my family who were also Pacific Islanders.

I was so ashamed in my family that I used to tell people that my mum was mixed race,

and was half French, which in reality she's not mixed at all. When I got to

secondary school I met new people however I was still the only black person

and was still so embarrassed. I started to step up my game to think of a new excuse

where I was from. I would say to these new people that I had met that I was

Kenyan. But I'm not actually African at all. One day I met this girl who was like me.

She taught me to love my afro, love my skin color, love my background and wherever

I was from. I'm now in my third year of secondary school and I've learned that

it's okay to be different. And I started to embrace my blackness

and my culture. I am a Pacific Islander and I'm now proud to be because that's

what makes me unique. Embrace your culture and embrace your ethnic

background. Because we are all unique and different in our own special ways.

Oh, by the way that girl is now my best friend and I can't thank her enough for

teaching me to love myself.

The Sorry State of Dark Matter Alternatives - Duration: 6:14.

[♪ INTRO]

Over the years, we've talked a lot about dark matter, and you can't blame us.

Even though it exerts gravitational effects, this stuff is invisible in telescopes.

And it's found all over the universe, but scientists aren't totally positive what it is.

Dark matter is one of the coolest mysteries in astronomy,

but it's also made many of you raise your eyebrows.

Whenever we bring up dark matter, commenters ask why scientists are so stubbornly positive it exists.

Like, why can't they just admit they're wrong about gravity?

The truth is, though, scientists have spent decades trying to alter gravitational laws

to explain dark matter... without dark matter.

And while they have had plenty of successes,

a recent paper says they're really likely to be wrong.

Like... this likely to be wrong. That's a lot of 9s.

Lots of independent evidence points astronomers toward dark matter.

The most famous comes from stars and galaxies.

Some of them move too quickly, to the point that the gravity from visible matter

can't be the only thing holding them together.

Computer simulations of the universe's evolution also require dark matter to produce realistic results.

And the Cosmic Microwave Background, temperature variations imprinted on the universe by the

Big Bang, has patterns we can't make sense of without a bunch of the stuff.

Specifically, we need about five times more dark matter than regular matter.

Which is the same amount we infer from those other methods.

So it's not like astronomers have been chomping at the bit to postulate what this matter is.

They have been forced to their current ideas by almost a century of measurements.

Even if we keep failing to discover what exactly dark matter is,

the case that it's there seems pretty solid.

Then again, to make dark matter work, we do have to make some pretty extraordinary claims.

Like, we have to conclude that there's

five times more invisible stuff out there than what we can see.

So some researchers haven't given up on searching for alternate explanations.

One of the most famous is an astrophysicist named Mordehai Milgrom.

In the 1980s, he wondered just how much you would have to change our ideas about gravity

to explain galaxies' behavior without dark matter.

To figure it out, he invented the field of Modified Newtonian Dynamics, or MOND,

and it's been growing since his initial papers.

Currently, gravity is explained by Einstein's spacetime-warping general theory of relativity.

Among many other things, it shows that gravity gets

continuously and smoothly weaker as you get farther from an object.

MOND is a little different.

This method tweaks general relativity's mathematical approach to gravity.

Near something massive, its predictions are pretty similar,

but they're different as you get farther from something.

Instead of gravity getting continuously weaker,

MOND usually has what's called a fundamental acceleration scale.

It's a sort of lingering gravitational effect

where you wouldn't really expect one using general relativity.

So far, this new method seems like it can explain a lot.

Many galaxies' motions fit MOND's predictions just as well as dark matter's, and simulations

with MOND have even had success reproducing the universe's large-scale structure.

But the method still has plenty of problems.

For example, it has trouble recreating those patterns in the Cosmic Microwave Background.

And it can't really account for all the different ways we see galaxies behave.

Some galaxies act like they have almost no dark matter in them, while others might be

90% dark matter or more, and MOND has trouble reproducing that variety.

MOND also has issues with objects like the Bullet Cluster,

an object some 3.7 billion light-years away.

There, gravitational effects seem to be completely separated from visible matter,

as if there's dark matter in one place and matter in another.

Some people would argue that general relativity and dark matter have had a decades-long head start,

and that researchers will work out the kinks in MOND eventually.

But others aren't so confident.

Earlier this year, a team of astronomers searched for the fundamental acceleration scale

by looking at the rotation rates of almost 200 galaxies.

And they found that MOND doesn't fit thedata.

No matter which specific model you're using, MOND would predict the

fundamental acceleration scale should be the same throughout the universe.

But this team found that different galaxies required a different scale,

which kind of throws a wrench in things.

Of course, nothing in science is 100% certain.

But the team's analysis says that the chance that MOND is still right is pretty slim.

Like, about 1 in a hundred billion trillion, a number with 23 zeros in it.

Some scientists have disputed that extreme statement,

saying there's far more uncertainty than the new paper claims.

But possible is awfully far from 1 in a hundred billion trillion.

Now, this all might have been the death of MOND once and for all,

if another paper hadn't come out a few weeks later.

In it, a different group studied almost all of the exact same galaxies,

but they analyzed the data in a slightly different way.

And they found clear evidence of a fundamental acceleration scale that worked for all of them.

It's not obvious what caused this difference, but it does mean that MOND isn't dead yet.

At least for now, though, the majority of astronomers and cosmologists do think dark

matter is still the right approach, and they have decades of good evidence to support that.

After all, on scales bigger than individual galaxies,

MOND repeatedly fails while dark matter repeatedly succeeds.

Researchers will keep looking into alternate explanations, but, at least for now,

no other idea is anywhere near as successful as dark matter is.

So we'll just have to keep looking.

One Minute Singing Secrets: Natural Breathing Technique for Singing (Make Your Breathing Easy) - Duration: 1:31.

Let me tell you a secret about natural breathing technique for singing.

It will take only a minute.

Start the clock.

Listen: When we talk about breathing, we always start with inhalation.

We talk about how to inhale properly, what to do and what not to do.

"Take a breath!"

It sounds like hard work.

And only then, we talk about exhalation, breath support and all that.

But what if we turn things around?

Let's say that breathing starts with exhalation.

Just try it.

When you exhale and wait for a tiny bit, your body wants to inhale.

You don't need to "take a breath".

You don't need to work hard.

The inhalation will happen naturally because your body needs oxygen.

So, my little secret to breathing naturally is to start every exercise, whether it's

vocal or breathing exercise, with exhale.

Then open your instrument and let the air rush in without any effort.

As simple as that.

Let the inhale happen!

Wingstop® | Cajun Fried Corn | Food Review! 🛩️🌶️🌽 - Duration: 4:06.

welcome to peep this out reviews with Ian K

stay frosty

so I'm back over a wingstop for today's review and after

checking out their pretty tasty Louisiana voodoo fries recently I

thought I'd take some of you up on your suggestions to give this new Cajun fried

corn a shot and I got to say I'm already digging it in the aroma department guys

feast your eyes on five deliciously fried pieces of sweet corn that are

completely doused in Cajun and french fry seasoning guys it looks really great

and like i said the aroma is lighting up my car big time very cool on the

presentation of these and I have a feeling this one is gonna deliver the

goods in the flavor department because it already looks like it is this is the

Cajun fried corn over here at Wingstop let's peep out this flavor yesir absolutely

fried up and most definitely seasoned up we are diving in into the Cajun fried

corn from Wingstop oh my god I have never had fried corn before and that

flavor absolutely pops out right away a nice

fried type of texture that I'm getting and then some heat coming up on the backend

from those cajun spices but wow the corn itself is nice and sweet we're gonna

keep going for sure mmm well I have to go around the bend a few times just to

get a little bit more of that sweet corn on that second go-around but I have to

say guys the flavor really delivers on this one nice fried goodness that you

get in the very beginning and the sweetness right away along with the heat

the seasoning really makes it and although you can actually get this

with parmesan I think the Cajun goes so well the

spiciness along with the sweetness is really a highlight I'm really diggin the

flavor of this one and you know what the size isn't too bad either you get five

nicely sliced cuts of corn here there pretty much when you put them together

equal about an ear of corn to begin with and they are absolutely coated in that

cajun goodness guys that's what really stands out with this version and

it's easily the one I'd recommend going with unless you're really hung up on

getting parmesan guys the spice the sweet like I said really nice combo mmm

that fried outer coating on this Cajun fried corn does more than just make this

one look pretty it really does add an overall textural and flavoral

difference to the overall combination of everything this one has to offer and I

don't think you'd get the same experience if this was just a warm piece

of corn that just had a little bit of Cajun seasoning and french fry seasoning

on it the fried coating like I said really does make this one on top of

everything else and it really rounds out the overall flavor of it it's

really great you know I guess you can argue that Cajun seasoning and just

about anything would kick up the flavor anyway but when it comes to adding it to

sweet things I got to say that's really the wild card right there and thankfully

with the sweet corn it does deliver the combination works and that fried outer

coating on top of it just heightens it even more very solid yeah definitely

pretty tasty and while Cajun seasoning is typically not my go-to add-on when it

comes to sweet corn I would definitely rock this one again strictly because of

the combination of that fried outer texture as well as the overall flavor of

the sweet corn and the spices it really was pretty great so with all that said

I'm gonna have to give the Cajun fried corn here a Wingstop a solid 8 out of 10

now the sweet corn itself already delivers but when you add the light

fried outer coating this one's got along with the cajun spices guys that's when

the magic happens and I gotta say price wise it's really not bad for what you're

getting 5 nicely cut pieces of corn for a little under 3 bucks and it's done

extremely well highly recommended but like I always say this is all based upon

my very first time trying this right now on camera in front of you guys but

what'd you think of this one drop some comments down below have you guys tried

the fried Cajun corn over here at Wingstop and if you have or even if you

haven't how big are you and adding cajun spices to corn itself that's a first for

me and I'm very curious to hear if you guys do the same drop some comments down

below and definitely let me know and with that this is Ian K closing out

another episode of peep this out bringing you brand new content every

single week here on my channel so while you stay tuned for that next review

coming real soon in the meantime stay frosty yeah I think the wing experts

over at Wingstop know a thing or two about corn

absolutely give this one a shot if you've got a wingstop in the area it's

pretty tasty alright everyone until next time I'll talk to you soon

Meghan Markle and Kate Middleton's First Solo Outing Styles Couldn't Be More Different - Duration: 2:33.

Meghan Markle and Kate Middleton both aced their first official solo engagements as royals, but when it came to their style choices, they couldn't be more different

Both royals visited art exhibits in London for their first engagements on their own

Meghan attended the opening of a Pacific art exhibit at the Royal Academy of Art on Tuesday, while Kate visited an art exhibition on behalf of Prince Charles' charity, In Kind Direct, in October 2011

Kate stepped out for her first official solo engagement on short notice after Prince Charles had to fly to Saudi Arabia to pay respects to the royal family following the death of the Crown Prince

Prince William was unable to attend due to his RAF Search and Rescue commitments

Kate stunned in a sleeveless aqua dress with silver detailing by Amanda Wakeley, which she paired with Jimmy Choo heels

She wore her hair half up and half down — as she did on her wedding day just five months prior

Meghan, who has worn a steady stream of black ensembles in recent months, chose to wear a black Givenchy dress with billowing sheer sleeves (her wedding dress designer!) and her go-to black pumps by Aquazzura for the milestone moment

She kept her long hair straight and sleek and carried a Givenchy clutch.  When it comes to Meghan Markle and Kate Middleton, both women have already made a significant impact on the fashion world

Known to favor a more low-key look than Kate, Meghan's clearest style inspiration hails from the chic streets of Paris — in particular, the editor-in-chief of Vogue Paris, Emmanuelle Alt

Markle has called the fashion-forward Alt her "spirit animal" and revealed in an interview that her top fashion tip is to messy things up a little — the opposite of Kate's ultra-polished style ethos

"If your outfit is on point, one thing has to be off for you to look perfect," she told U

K's Glamour.
