PERFECT QUALITY CAPTURES with the Atomos Ninja Inferno! (Atomos Ninja Inferno Review) - Duration: 14:52.My purchase of a field video recorder for my video production could be seen as one of
the best investments I have made to date.
It was a little pricey, but the functionality, benefits, and convenience I've gained from
using it have been invaluable to my work.
In today's video, let's cover 5 reasons I think you should invest in a video recorder,
right after this.
Tubebuddy is the best tool you can get to manage your YouTube channel.
You can Update videos in bulk, optimize your SEO, syndicate to social media, back up your
metadata and MORE all with a simple browser extension.
Head to eposvox.com/tubebuddy to learn more and download it for free.
A video field recorder is basically a tiny computer with a very high quality monitor
and a capture card built-in - but with much better results than you could achieve trying
to replicate that with a computer.
Examples of these would be the BlackMagic Video Assist, or the Atomos lines of Ninja
and Shogun products.
Personally, I have an Atomos Ninja Inferno that I purchased last year when I was shooting
my OBS Master Class.
A field recorder takes a video signal via HDMI or SDI (depending on your model and camera)
and records it to a SSD in a very high quality format.
Let's jump into the list of reasons you should invest in one.
Number 1 - Longer record times Many professional DSLRs and mirrorless cameras
shoot amazing video these days, but they still frequently get limited by how long they can
record in-camera.
With a video recorder, as long as your camera produces clean video out via HDMI or SDI,
you can record for however long your storage drive can sustain!
Speaking of which, you can inherently get longer record times simply by recording to
SSDs with a video recorder instead of constantly filling up and swapping SD cards or those
insanely expensive CFAST 2.0 cards.
You can get massive 500GB to multi-terabyte SSDs and record for hours.
Especially on cameras like the Panasonic GH5 and GH5s where it's already recording to
super high 400mbps files anyway, you get better run time with SSDs.
Number 2 - Higher quality video In many cases, you can actually get higher
quality video recorded to a video recorder than in your camera.
Most cameras record to H264 compressed files, which have their own artifacting and noise.
Video recorders typically record to the ProRes or DNx codecs, which are substantially higher
quality and much less prone to any sort of additional compression artifacting.
They're not technically "lossless" btu they're pretty darn close.
Some cameras like the previously-mentioned GH5 can record to 400mbps 10-bit files, but
they're still H264.
You can get more runway with a ProRes file instead.
And in some cases, your camera might actually output a higher quality video format than
it records internally.
The cameras I primarily shoot with, the Panasonic G7 - it records to a 4:2:0 8-bit file internally
to the SD card, but it outputs a 4:2:2 color space file wrapped in a 10-bit signal - still
technically 8-bit, but 10-bit is more efficient and clean at compressing than 8-bit even with
an 8-bit source - which is higher quality in terms of color accuracy and reproduction.
This can be very important if you're cropping in a lot, plan on pushing the colors a lot
in color grading, or chroma keying for a green screen.
Number 3 - Shot tracking & Faster Editing Recording to a video recorder instead of in
your SD card an actually improve your editing workflow, as well!
Most recorders come with tools to label your shots, flag which ones you wish to use, what
kinds of shots they are and so on - which can help speed up editing.
Plus, the codecs they use - ProRes and DNx - are much more resource efficient when on
an editing timeline.
Despite the massive bitrates, it's much easier to edit footage from video recorders
than the H264 files your camera records internally.
Number 4 - It's a field monitor These things aren't just recorders (usually)
they're also field monitors!
And sometimes big ones at that - my Ninja Inferno is 7 inches.
That's a lot more space to see your shot and frame better.
Plus they come with all sorts of helpful features to make sure you're getting the correct
shots - focus peaking to show what's in focus, zebra-ing to show when things are over-exposed,
false color to map skin tones, HDR representation and viewing LUTs to see what your final shot
might look like.
That plus being a bigger screen that you can move around your shoot makes this a lot easier
to work with than your on-camera screen - especially if you are a solo creator.
Lastly, Number 5 - it can also be a color grading monitor.
These field video recorders are built with high-quality, color-accurate screens to be
as accurate as possible.
This means that you can hook them up to your computer via HDMI and use them as the best
color-grading monitor you probably have, unless you're working at a full production studio
or something.
And certain ones like my Ninja Inferno can also support HDR and be used to work with
HDR footage if your primary monitors don't support it, as well.
This is hugely beneficial.
As you can see, a video recorder can be a wonderful investment for your video production.
In a sense, the
recorder becomes the "brain" of
your camera setup and makes you a bit less reliant on specific features of
camera bodies.
Plus, it's useful in every step of the production process, not just during video capture.
A lot of people were confused why I spent a thousand bucks on one of these to shoot
my OBS Master Class, but hopefully this helps showcase some of the reasons.
I used it for my lengthy camera recordings, for desktop capture of OBS that I needed to
zoom in very tightly on UI elements, and more.
It was probably the best investment I've made in
a while for my setup.

HUGE: Kavanaugh Releases Images Of 1982 Calendar That Will Be Used As Evidence In Hearing - Duration: 3:46.Actor turned liberal artist Jim Carrey has been heralded by many deranged leftists for
his anti-Trump paintings, but his latest "art work" of Supreme Court nominee Judge Brett
Kavanaugh will infuriate many people.
As noted by The Daily Wire, Carrey's new disgusting painting refers to Kavanaugh as
an "entitled little s**t" and depicts him as a black-mask-wearing rapist.
In a tweet from Monday, Carry wrote that Kavanaugh is partying and pillaging his way to the Supreme
Court.
"Colleges care more about donors than the victims of on-campus rape, That's why women
don't report it and why ENTITLED LITTLE SH**S like Injustice Kavanaugh get to party
and pillage their way to the Supreme Court.
I'd like to suggest a new uniform for the highest court in the land," Carrey wrote
in the tweet's description.
Carrey has created a slew of nasty, abhorrent, anti-Trump paintings, but his latest piece
is arguably his most disgusting.
The far-left actor's painting is in response to Christine Blasey Ford, the woman who claims
Kavanaugh sexually assaulted her at a party almost four decades ago.
Kavanaugh has been accused by two women of inappropriate behavior.
Ford alleges he pinned her down and attempted to grope her during a party roughly 36 years
ago.
The second accuser, Miranda Ramirez, alleges Kavanaugh exposed himself to her at a party
in 1983.
Do you think Democrats will be able to Impeach Trump?
Ramirez admitted to having "gaps in her story" and that she was definitely "inebriated"
during the alleged party.
Ford's allegations are equally as flimsy, where there are significant gaps in what she
alleges and no witnesses to corroborate her story.
Kavanaugh strongly denies both of the allegations, and several of the witnesses both Ford and
Ramirez cited have claimed they never witnessed what the two women alleged happened.
Both Ford and Kavanaugh are scheduled to testify on Thursday before the Senate Judiciary Committee
about the alleged incident.
Ford, who claims to only vaguely remember the party, finally agreed to speak with lawmakers
after trying to use every excuse in the book to avoid testifying.
Aside from Ford claiming she only wants to tell her story, yet she continues to issue
a new demand every day, there are serious issues with Carrey's painting.
It's gruesome, salacious, and will undoubtedly infuriate a lot of people.
He not only smeared Kavanaugh as being an "entitled little s**t," he went as far
as portraying the Judge as being a rapist.
Do you support Judge Brett Kavanaugh for the Supreme Court?
ADD YOUR NAME!
There's absolutely no evidence — or even an allegation — that Kavanaugh ever raped
anyone.
In fact, the allegations that he even allegedly groped Ford are so shaky that even Sen. Diane
Feinstein, D-CA, has admitted she "can't say everything is truthful" regarding Ford's
claims.
While all of the accusations against Kavanaugh are flimsy and nothing more than hearsay from
almost 40-years-ago, leftists like Carrey are calling him guilty and accusing him of
being a rapist.
This is what Kavanaugh and his family are having to do deal with every day from liberals.

White Growths on Caterpillar? Parasitoid Wasps! | VIEWER QUESTION | Koaw Nature - Duration: 5:26.So dace_88, one of Koaw Nature's viewers
and generous jaguar Patrons from Patreon,
sent me a question and some pictures.
"Hi. Today I was picking tomato worms off of my plants
in the garden and came across three worms
that had parasitic white eggs all over their body.
I assume these will eventually kill the worms for me.
Can you provide some more insight into the nature of this parasite?"
Well dace, you are definitely correct in that your hornworm has a parasite.
And I find this sort of parasitism to be fascinating,
so let's definitely clear up a few things for you.
[bumper music]
[upbeat music]
Firstly, to clarify for a bit of accuracy—
your tomato plants are in your garden
are not being eaten by tomato hornworms,
rather that is a tobacco hornworm you have there,
which, is also the tobacco hawk moth or Caronlina sphinx moth.
Both species of hornworm eat from the same family of plants,
thus a tomato hornworm can be found on a tobacco plant
and a tobacco hornworm on a tomato plant.
The two species look very similar
but you can tell the difference by looking at the horn and stripes.
The tobacco hornworm has a reddened horn
while tomato hornworms have a black or blue horn.
Also, the tobacco hornworm has seven diagonal white stripes
with black borders
while tomato hornworm has eight V-shaped white markings with no border.
But let's look at those interesting white objects
growing out of that fat green larva.
So those aren't eggs,
but they are cocoons of wasp larvae
that had been eggs
which hatched into larvae inside of the hornworm
developing within for about two weeks.
So that hornworm is a host for a parasite –
a parasitoid wasp to be more precise.
And what is unique about parasitoids from other parasites
is that they will kill their hosts
or at least render them sterile.
There are thousands upon thousands of parasitoid wasp species
that specialize upon different insect orders.
There are two main strategies for this parasitism –
an endoparasitic type
where the parasite develops inside the host,
letting that host continue to feed and live for a period of time—
and an ectoparasitic type,
where the host is paralyzed immediately.
The moth larva infected here
has been parasitized by an endoparasitic type,
that is, within its body,
by what is likely the species of wasp (Cotesia congregata),
from a family of parasitic wasps known as braconids.
But what is utterly fascinating about this parasitism,
is that these parasitoid wasps have coevolved with certain viruses
that are injected along with the eggs inside of the host—
a mutualistic symbiosis existing for tens of millions of years.
These viruses are known as polydnaviruses
and are integrated within the wasps' genome;
[upbeat music]
when injected, a polydnavirus works to
protect the eggs and larvae from immune suppression
by the host's hemocytes.
A venom is also injected
that works to enhance the effects of any virus injected.
The parasitic eggs will hatch within a couple of days
and undergo two molts within the hemocoel,
or the body cavity containing all the blood cells and other interstitial fluids,
all the while that parasitoid is feeding off of the nutrients
provided by the host that is still alive and feeding,
which, in dace_88's case, is the foliage of a tomato plant.
The hornworm will continue feeding
until about a day before the larvae emerge.
Then the larvae will form those white cotton-candy looking cocoons
from which adult wasps will depart roughly a week later—
seeking to once again find a host to parasitize.
So if you care about your tomato plants in your garden,
you might as well just leave those parasitized hornworms
where they are as nature will take its course.
And those wasps emerge from those cocoons.
And those hornworms won't pupate,
that is, they won't become moths and lay eggs.
So you have a natural pesticide going for ya.
And I mean overall when you think about it—it is a gruesome occurrence.
Even Charles Darwin found this to be quite disturbing
as he wrote in a passage about a different
but very similar family of parasitoid wasps.
"There seems to me too much misery in the world.
I cannot persuade myself
that a beneficent and omnipotent God
would have designedly created the Ichneumonidae
with the express intention of their feeding
within the living bodies of caterpillars." - Darwin
Yes Charles, that is a little messed up
but that's life.
And thanks again to dace_88
for posting that question and sending me those pictures.
Good luck with your garden!
And I'm going to post another YouTube video
with some better footage of some actual wasps
parasitizing these hornworms that was taken in a lab.
So check that out if you're a bit more curious.
Spread some knowledge and be nature heroic!

Career advice from the "Edison of medicine" | MIT's Robert Langer - Duration: 4:56.I do advise my students to be broad and open-minded in their thinking when it comes to careers.
I mean basically what you want is somebody to have a great career and to be happy; and
so my advice to students is to don't do what's going to make you the most money
or the most security, but do something that will make you happy—whatever that is.
Well when I got done with graduate school or when I was finishing graduate school this
was the 1970s and there was this gas shortage just like a few years ago and the prices of
gas kept going up.
So what that meant if you were a chemical engineer (like I was) is you'd get a lot
of job offers from oil companies.
And pretty much all my classmates went to oil companies and worked there and they got
very high-paying jobs.
I did get 20 job interviews from these companies, and I got 20 offers too, but I wasn't very
excited about doing that.
I remember one interview where they told me if I could just increase the yield of this
one petrochemical by .1 percent that would be worth billions of dollars, and I just wasn't
excited about the impact that that would have, and I kept looking for ways where I guess
I felt I could have more of an impact on the world.
Well let me give an example of one thing we did.
Actually when I was a postdoctoral fellow with Judah Folkman one of the questions that
we asked was: could molecules exist that could stop blood vessels from growing in the body?
A lot of people didn't believe that that could happen, but my boss at the time, Dr.
Folkman, did; and he hired me and we found that cartilage was able to block blood vessels.
This was done with Henry Brem as well.
And then we found what—we wanted to see if we could find an extract.
In other words what are the real substances that could stop blood vessels from growing
that might exist.
And well there's a lot of things—you have to break up the things into different parts.
So first where might a molecule exist that could stop blood vessels?
The answer to that was possibly cartilage, which doesn't have blood vessels.
Then you have to have a way to study it, and that was very, very hard because blood vessels
actually grow slowly over time, and we needed what we call as a bio-assay.
And to develop a bio-assay we needed something that could release these substances for a
very, very long time.
So a little polymer or micro-sphere or micro-particle.
So we developed those but none of those had ever been able to slowly release molecules
that were really big.
And the molecules that we thought would stop blood vessels were really big.
So we had to actually then create ways to release these molecules slowly even though
they were big, and release them for months.
And that was something people never thought was possible.
But I spent several years working on it, experimenting with different techniques, and eventually
I figured out a way to do it.
And when we did that we published a paper in Nature showing that for the first time
you could release molecules of any size from these little micro-particles.
And then we used that to create the bio-assay and we isolated the first substances that
could stop blood vessels from growing in the body.
Both of those discoveries, the polymer slow-release systems and the substances that could stop
blood vessels from growing led to major industries.
Well when I first gave lectures and on the work we did on slowly releasing these large
molecules from polymers and we first published this work pretty much everybody in the scientific
community didn't believe it.
And the consequence of that is that I didn't get any grants.
My first nine grants were rejected.
Also when I started to apply for faculty positions—I'm a chemical engineer and no chemical engineering
department in the world would hire me.
I ended up going into a nutrition department, but the problem there was that the people
in the department didn't think very much of what I was doing, and they basically told
me I should start looking for another job.
So it was not very pleasant in the beginning.
I think if I'd moved away from it—you know, I don't know what would have happened.
I mean it's very hard to figure out alternative paths.
I think if you give up too easily that's not good.
Obviously you don't want to keep banging your head against the wall forever, so I think
there's some compromises you have to make.
But I think if I gave up on something like that maybe I'd give up on other things that
were important too.
I just don't know.
I'm glad I didn't.

The Origins of Beverly: The Soda People Love To Hate - Duration: 5:54.Over in Epcot, right by the Fountain of Nations in Future World, there's an attraction called
Club Cool.
That's a very loose application of the word attraction by the way, because Club Cool is
essentially a little Coca-Cola sponsored Coca-Cola store.
However beyond just buying drinks and merch, Club Cool also offers free testing stations
where guests can sample select Coca-Cola products from around the world.
Like most soda, the bulk of the offerings have various sweet tastes, ranging from pineapple
to mango to melon.
Then there's Beverly.
It's not as bad as I- oh my gosh!
Why does the Beverly soda taste so bad?
Is it an Italian thing?
Do they just like awful soda over there?
Where did it come from?
Where is it now?
Why do die-hard Disney World fans love, or love to hate, Beverly?
Part of the answer is actually spelled out for us right at Club Cool.
It's not a matter of Americans just having a different palette, it's admittedly a bitter
drink on purpose.
The description posted above the Beverly soda fountain reads "Beverly, with its bitter
flavor, is a popular non-alcoholic aperitif that is a traditional part of Italian refreshment culture."
The key word there is aperitif, because that alone changes the way a drink like Beverly
is meant to be consumed.
Many cultures around the world have a lengthy history of treating digestive ailments with
bitter herbs.
It dates back as far as the middle ages, potentially ever further.
To make them easier to consume, a lot of those bitter herbs would be mixed with alcohol,
and the the resulting concoction eventually went by the name of… well… bitters.
Over the years these bitters eventually evolved from a medicinal treatment to a preventative measure.
That is where the aperitif comes in.
Most popular in France and Italy, the aperitif is a bitter cocktail that's consumed shortly
before a meal as a way of aiding the digestive process and preventing future issues such
as indigestion.
On top that the bitter taste supposedly helps in preparing your palette for the food you're about to enjoy
So with that in mind, the aperitif was not consumed in large quantities nor was it quickly consumed.
It was a modest cocktail you'd casually have before dinner, and it was most of time,
an alcoholic beverage.
However in 1969 at the Fiera di Milano, or Milan Fair, Coca-Cola would introduce a non-alcoholic
aperitif to the Italian market, and it was called Beverly.
Bottled in Monza, Italy, Beverly was advertised to be "cold as Helsinki, sparkling as Rio"
and "dry as El Paso"
It was originally sold in small 3 and 6 ounce bottles, which was fitting considering it
was intended to be enjoyed as an aperitif.
And while it was originally a darker drink, very visually similar to Coca-Cola, the company
would eventually introduce a clear version in 1978.
Considering its purpose and taste, and considering we don't typically partake in aperitifs
here, the drink was never brought over to the United States beyond the fun marketing gimmick.
It was introduced to the World of Coca-Cola in Atlanta, and in 1998 a Coca-Cola sponsored
attraction called Ice Station Cool, later Club Cool, would open in Future World.
It would offer Americans a free taste of various sodas from around the world, including Beverly.
And while it didn't happen right away, the popularization of vlogging combined with Beverly
being this unexpected and unpleasant experience for many, lead to a cult following around
the practice of getting your unaware friends and family to try the drinks so that you could
capture their reaction on camera.
It would eventually become popular enough that the Coca-Cola Rooftop Bar in Disney Springs
would offer a mixed drink called Beverly's Revenge, which features the soda along with
gin and blood orange liqueur.
Today there are even fan made t-shirts for the soda.
As for Beverly, the drink was eventually discontinued in 2009 and the only real explanation offered
by Coca-Cola was that it was a part of "ongoing product consolidation".
Personally that sounds like PR speak for "it stopped selling well enough".
I couldn't find any Beverly or even Italian specific figures, but I did find that Coca-Cola's
European market as a whole experienced a nearly half billion dollar drop in revenue that year,
so perhaps that played a part in the decision to end the production.
Or perhaps the competition was too much for a market too small.
By that point both Campari and San Pellegrino, two major Italian aperitif brands, had their
own non-alcoholic offerings as well, and while here in the United States Coca-Cola is one
of the most popular brands ever, soda consumption is much lower over in Italy, meaning it wouldn't
be as easy of a market for Coca-Cola to dominate.
So today our, uh, enjoyment of Beverly is limited to these taste test stations at various
spots across the country.
If you find yourself in Epcot, and you wander into Club Cool and you decide to give Beverly
a shot, remember, it wasn't the kind of soft drink enjoyed like this.
It was enjoyed like this.
I still think it tastes nasty like this, but at least now we know that people in Italy
weren't downing the stuff 20 ounces at a time.

Testing Small Unit Leaders - Duration: 2:44.Exercise Koolendong was a multi-national live fire training exercise in which the Australians,
Americans and French showcased some interoperability during platoon and company level live fire.
The exercise was about ten days.
Mount Bundey is a great place to train; it challenges you, both mentally and physically.
The heat is as oppressive as you'd want it to be, and the terrain is pretty arduous
to make some of those foot movements over. So, all in all it's a good place to train.
It required some mental toughness that the Marines had to endure while they were there.
Some other challenges just associated with austere conditions.
The tactics associated with maneuvering in some of that compartmentalized terrain, and
then rocky terrain as well, challenged leaders at all levels.
I think the picture was very clear for every unit that was out there, hooking and jabbing together.
So, I think we did all together pretty well.
One of the main issues that we were having
and trying to discuss amongst the leadership, was being able to combine machine guns and
the 11s (0311 infantry Marines) maneuvering,
the machine guns being able to find our lead trace
and one way that we fixed that was utilizing the drone.
What we had done was strap a glow belt around the InstantEye.
That way guns could see our lead trace while we were maneuvering down in the maneuver box
during the live fire.
One of the main parts was being in a small
unit leadership billet is basically being able to communicate without even using comms.
Small unit leaders performed magnificently, they conducted their pre-combat checks and
pre-combat inspections.
They received back briefs from their Marines and they really interfaced well across a multi-national force
that was operating out during exercise Koolendong.
They're coming up to the end of the rotation.
We've been a team now for about 15 months or so.
To see them kind of showcase their final training exercise here as a part of MRF-D 2018,
it was absolutely amazing.

Typically, that kind of statement would cause someone to shut down.
They would accept that statement as fact, then find some job that allows them to

But where's your passion?
Where's your dream?
I was the first man in my family to attend college.
I worked 2 jobs on campus, took 18 to 20 credit hours, and was a part of 2 dance companies.
It was crazy, but I was hungry!

Man Utd news: Jose Mourinho tipped to LEAVE after Paul Pogba row - bookies - Duration: 3:22.That's according bookies Paddy Power who reckon the Portuguese will be out of the door first
Pogba was dropped for the Red Devils' EFL Cup defeat to Derby last night. Mourinho has also stripped the France international of the vice captaincy
Today, during training at Manchester United's Carrington complex, Pogba was seen glaring at his manager when he jogged onto the field
Mourinho appeared to rile Pogba which resulted in the midfielder giving his manager an icy stare
The pair were then seen exchanging words with Pogba looking far from impressed. Paddy Power make it 1/3 that Mourinho departs Old Trafford first, while making it the same odds-on price that at least one of the duo will have left United by the start of next season
It's 2/1 that one of the feuding pair will leave by the end of the January transfer window, and just 3/1 that they'll BOTH have exited the club come kick-off for the 2019/2020 season
After last night's defeat, Mourinho has been installed as the favourite in Paddy Power's 'sack race' market – it's 3/1 he's the next Premier League manager to vacate his position
Zinedine Zidane (2/1) is the favourite to succeed Mourinho. Spokesman Paddy Power said: "If I could give Mr Mourinho any advice, it would be that PP always wins
"Oh, and to move out of that hotel. Seriously, that room service menu isn't getting any better
"Pogba, clearly, is the more valuable asset – though that might just mean they're more likely to sell him
"Personally, I'd flog the Pog, and then the use some of the cash to tell the limelight hog to jog
" Former Premier League midfielder Craig Burley says Mourinho made the right call taking away his leadership responsibilities
"Whether you like Mourinho or not, Pogba has hardly been absolutely wonderful for Manchester United since joining," Burley told ESPN FC
"But you can't have, as a manager, a guy out undermining you like that and getting away with it
"So I think it's understandable. "If someone is criticising your tactics, you're not just going to sit there and take it
"I've said it before, and I'll say it again, there are too many at Manchester United prepared to hide behind the flak that Jose Mourinho is taking for his style of play
"I'm not saying Mourinho is innocent, he's clearly not, but there are too many players hiding
"

Top 10 Gordon Ramsay Dishes (The F Word) - Duration: 13:06."Gordon Ramsay's F Word" was a British food cookery and food magazine program featuring
a wide range of topics: from recipes to food preparation and celebrity food fads.
Every episode was centered around Gordon Ramsay's three-course meal at the F Word restaurant
which seated 50 guests.
It's a tall order trimming our list to just a few!
But here are the 10 dishes that rocked our world!
Gordon Ramsay Makes Sea Bass with Sorrel Sauce
They don't call it the "superstar of the seas" for nothing!
This fish is so delectable, it's finding its way into many of Britain's homes and
professional kitchens.
Why is this fish exceptional?
Chef Gordon Ramsay goes the simple route for both sauce and fish… a knob of butter, shallots,
salt, pepper, vermouth, fish stock, and sorrel.
Sorrel is a European plant of the dock family.
Its prominent arrow-shaped leaves are used for salads and cooking.
Simply score, season, and pan fry.
Seabass is a lean, saltwater fish.
Absolutely great for grilling and pan-frying.
Sea bass' silver scales always provide that level of sophistication to any restaurant's
menu.
These days, you will always find it lining the shelves of supermarkets in small portions.
The crispy sea bass skin, the earthy flavor of broccoli… an exciting combination that
balances all the flavors.

Gordon Scores High with Pressed Belly of Pork
Pork Belly tastes so good, it borders on sinfully delicious!
Pork is already great, to begin with because it is reasonably priced.
Bacon is cured, smoked, and sliced to perfection.
Pork belly, on the other hand, is uncured, unsmoked, and unsliced!
But this is what makes it such a great canvass for almost any type of cooking.
In this recipe, Gordon Ramsay enhances the pork belly with thyme, salt, pepper, and olive
oil.
He scores the belly and has it sit on a bed of garlic.
The bed of garlic lifts the pork belly off of the tray to prevent it from drying out.
He then adds a generous amount of white wine and finally covers the tray with tin foil.
Then he pops it in the oven for two hours.
The result?
Absolute perfection!
Gordon Ramsay then places the pork and weighs it down to set in the fridge for a good six
hours.
10 minutes in the oven – awesome flavor, nice and crispy on top!
Ramsay's Unique Scallops with Cauliflower Puree
Scallops and cauliflower are definitely strange bedfellows!
Fresh scallops are packed with nutrition.
It's a healthy source of protein.
Scallops sport a nice beautiful shell but what you're actually served is the muscular
tissue that keeps the scallop closed.
These white pearls of succulent perfection have a sweet and steamed taste.
Cooked scallops are great by themselves but are even more delicious when quickly fried
and tossed in sauces.
The cauliflower puree is buttery smooth and remarkably comforting.
Chef Ramsay makes it look so easy!
It's finished with a touch of cream for three minutes.
Then blended while it's hot.
As Gordon gingerly places the scallops into place, he says that the fewer elements the
dish has, the more important the plating is.
There is no room for satisfactory in Chef Ramsay's kitchen.
He has his junior chefs plate it to perfection.
Chef Ramsay Creates His Signature Roasted Peaches in Rum
Got a sweet tooth?
Gordon Ramsay's Roasted Peaches in Rum is an indulgence.
What we absolutely adore about this heavenly dessert is the way this dessert is so versatile.
Serve for those special occasions or whip it up for a relaxing evening at home.
Gordon Ramsay's version has him tossing fresh sliced peaches onto a hot pan.
But other than eating peaches as is, grilling them takes them to a whole other level.
Gordon Ramsay begins with fresh peaches, a hot pan, and castor sugar.
...then adds the butter, rum, lime cream, and double cream.
Icing sugar, lime zest, and voila!
A golden twist to this favorite is roasted peaches with lemon, lime, and basil crème
fraiche.
Chef Gordon Ramsay Makes Chickpea Samosas
Call him what you like, but Gordon Ramsay has a knack for simplifying mysterious and
seemingly complicated recipes!
A Samosa is a fried or baked dish with an aromatic filling.
Fillings are typically onions, spiced potatoes, lentils, and peas plus are traditionally triangular
in shape.
Indian samosas are vegetarian and are usually accompanied by mint chutney.
Gordon begins by prepping the filling.
Vegetable oil, curry powder, marsala, cumin, and turmeric, all cooked and fried with onion,
green chili, garlic, and ginger.
He finally crushes this mixture and allows it to cool.
He rolls out samosa dough, cuts it out, places a generous amount of samosa filling to the
cone and seals with water.
Hot pan, veggie oil…
Fried to a golden crisp!
This chickpea samosa is good enough for us.
But Gordon Ramsay takes it further by pairing it with a nice green salad.
Gordon Ramsay's Poached and Sauteed Chicken
Gordon Ramsay ups the ante with his Poached and Sauteed Chicken Recipe!
Chicken is to a chef as a blank canvass is to a painter.
It is so versatile, easy to cook, and flavourful with both summer or winter vegetables!
Gordon Ramsay begins by removing the legs and wings and stuffing the chicken with garlic
and salt.
He then prepares a poaching stock: carrots, celery, leeks, pepper, coriander, thyme, and
bay leaf.
He poaches the chicken for a good 12 minutes.
Next is the Mirelle mushroom sauce.
He sautees the mushrooms with shallots, salt, thyme, and garlic.
The finishing touches involve stock, double cream, and parsley.
He removes the chicken, separates the breast and fries the breast fillets.
We know what you're thinking… why not just sautee
the bird?
This dish goes well with mashed potatoes!
And just so you know...
Gordon's Ultimate Crab Cakes
Crab cakes with creamed corn and sautéed asparagus is what dreams are made of!
The perfect crab cake is a deep-fried sphere with the true taste of crab bursting through!
The tall order is to shape and form crab cakes the night before and allow it to sit in the
fridge overnight.
But the magic does not end with frying the cakes in oil and butter.
The charm is in the side dishes.
Creamed corn for us would mean something in a can, but creamed corn for Gordon Ramsay
is a mixture of white onions, butter, garlic, fresh corn removed from the cob, which are
all toasted.
To add to the creamed corn, he brings out the asparagus.
Asparagus is dry-roasted until the skin blisters.
A touch of butter, freshly grated parmesan, and scallions are added.
Finally, he plates it and we completely lose our minds!
Ramsay's Dream Cut - Skirt Steak with Chimichurri Sauce
How does Gordon Ramsay describe skirt steak?
As he prepares the dish, he lets us in on a secret – ESPELETtE.
Espelette is a mildly hot pepper from France.
It is spicy, warm and packed with tasty undertones.
The Espelette itself tenderizes the steak, but it's the shallow slits he makes on the
skirt steak that allows maximum absorption of flavor.
Chimichurri sauce is a sauce made with fresh vegetables and herbs.
Gordon Ramsay's version includes fresh oregano, fresh dill, mint, coriander, and parsley,
with the added zing of, lemon zest, lemon juice, and olive oil.
The moment he spread the freshly prepped chimichurri sauce onto the resting skirt steak, we knew
that we would never look at skirt steak the same way again!
He dices Spanish chorizo and sautees it with shallots, garlic, cannellini beans, chicken
stock, and rainbow chard.
Chef Ramsay and His Legendary Foie Gras
Ninth on our list is the ultimate when it comes to starters!
Why don't people make this dish at home?
When you think French cooking, the first item on the menu is, you guessed it…
Foie Gras!
Foie gras is a popular delicacy in French cuisine.
It is eaten whole or prepared into a pate, parfait, or mousse.
It holds its own as a dish but can be served to accompany steak.
It looks complicated but it really is quite simple…
That is, if you're Gordon Ramsay!
Foie Gras is 90% fat and so doesn't need oil to cook.
What to serve with foie gras?
A bed of green lentils!
One cannot possibly argue with the comfort of eating foie gras!
Chef Gordon Ramsay's Unrivaled Trademark Beef Wellington
Beef Wellington is a traditional British dish that consists of a seared filet mignon, covered
in whole-grain mustard, layers of mouth-watering, salty prosciutto, mushrooms that have been
reduced to a paste, and buttery puff pastry.
This amazing piece of heaven is baked until the crust browns to a golden crisp, and the
meat turns a perfect medium-rare Beef Wellington is a regular at the holiday table.
It's the ultimate indulgence.
Filet mignon is the leanest and most expensive cut of beef.
The secret?
English mustard gives it a bit of heat.
For the Christmas table, Gordon Ramsay adds a handful of chestnuts to the mushroom paste.
What we love about the Beef Wellington is its versatility.
Pair it with Brussel sprouts, mixed veggies with creamy mashed potatoes, or roasted vegetables
with garlic and herbs.
A medium to full-bodied dry red wine enhances the flavors too.
If Beef Wellington finds its way to your holiday table, make like Gordon Ramsay and pop a bottle
of Bordeaux.
We hope you like the video!

Max Verstappen: Close friend makes revelation on 'tough period' for F1 star - Duration: 2:15.Max Verstappen: Close friend makes revelation on 'tough period' for F1 star Dutchman Verstappen was tipped to challenge his Mercedes and Ferrari rivals for the F1 championship this season. The Red Bull driver enjoyed a progressive season last term and there were expectations he could battle for chequered flags this year. But the Dutchman has so far won just one race all season. There is concern Verstappen may never fulfil his true potential in F1.
But his compatriot and karting icon De Bruijn insists is just going through a bad patch - much like football players do. "No one is free from mistakes," he said. "It is just like football, if one is playing badly, people think it will never be okay! "I am convinced that Verstappen has everything in him to withstand those kind of tough periods." Asked to compare Verstappen with icon Ayrton Senna, De Bruijn said: "It is no secret that Max has the same qualities.
"He can qualify well, is very fast and knows how to find grip, like in Brazil in 2016. "Hopefully he can become champion at least as often (as Senna)." Next up for Verstappen is the Russian Grand Prix this weekend. The Dutchman has never won in Sochi and indeed retired from the race in 2016. Last year he finished fifth - behind the Ferraris and Mercedes.
Discussing his poor season this year, Verstappen acknowledged he may already be looking at 2019. "I'm still very young and I guess the more experience I get the faster I'll be," Verstappen said. "For sure the target next year is that the package will be even more competitive and we'll see what we can do.".

Avenatti Claims Kavanaugh Ga*ng Rap*ed Girls, Judge Makes Him Regret It - Duration: 5:57.Michael Avenatti is accusing Judge Brett Kavanaugh of gang-raping girls in high school.
Avenatti, who has become famous for exploiting a porn star and manufacturing media feeding
frenzies, claims he has a "credible witness" who will testify Kavanaugh and his friend
are guilty of the most heinous acts.
Well, Avenatti just got gut-punched by the SCOTUS nominee, who made him regret it.
Maybe in the sick world that Michael Avenatti inhabits he has come across disgusting individuals
who look at something like accusing a distinguished judge and family man of committing heinous
acts is just one big game.
But most Americans will soundly reject the creepy lawyer's accusations that Brett Kavanaugh
gang-raped girls in high school.
In fact, the Democrats must be losing their minds over Avenatti's outrageous allegations.
You see, the Democrats game plan was to use the sexual allegations card to stall and hopefully
stop Kavanaugh's nomination.
But Avenatti was not getting enough attention.
So he screwed up their plan with these totally crazy allegations, which will end their plot.
Vox reports, "It all started Sunday evening.
Avenatti, an attorney who rose to fame this year for representing porn actress Stormy
Daniels in her battle with the White House, tweeted that he was representing a woman with
'credible information' about Kavanaugh and Mark Judge, a friend of Kavanaugh's."
They add, "The attorney began to post emails between himself and Mike Davis, the chief
counsel for nominations for the Senate Judiciary Committee, in which Avenatti claimed that
he has 'significant evidence' of parties in Washington, DC, during the 1980s during
which Kavanaugh, Judge, and others would 'participate in the targeting of women with alcohol/drugs
in order to allow a train of men to subsequently gang rape them.'"
Wow.
No one with half a brain is going to buy that ridiculous story.
Can you imagine in a wealthy suburb where boys and girls going to a private religious
school and are witnessing gang rapes and no one, not one person, informs their parents?
Now, you can see why the Democrats have distanced themselves from the creepy lawyer.
But Avenatti could not stop there.
He had to add salacious details that are even more unbelievable if that's possible.
Avenatti said the committee should also ask Kavanaugh about an entry in his yearbook that
reads 'FFFFFFFourth of July,' which he believes stands for 'Find them, French them,
Feel them, Finger them, F*ck them, Forget them.'
He also mentioned the term 'Devil's Triangle,' a phrase that refers to sex between two men
and one woman," Vox also reported.
Well, Judge Brett Kavanaugh gave an interview to Fox News Martha McCallum and just blew
up Avenatti and the Democrats' claims, once and for all.
Now, remember, Kavanaugh knows anything he says in a TV interview can come back to haunt
him, which makes the statement by the SCOTUS nominee so stunning.
After Martha McCallum quotes Avenatti's wild gang-rape accusations, Kavanaugh says,"That's
totally false and outrageous.
I have never done any such thing, known about any such thing.

'Little Flower' ( Little Flower Catholic Church in Bethesda, Maryland), working on
my service projects, working on my friendships with my fellow classmates and friendships
with girls from the local all-girls Catholic school."
"And yes there were parties, and yes there was drinking and the drinking age was 18,
and the Seniors were legal and had beer there, and yes people might have had too many beers
on occasion," said Kavanaugh, adding, "But we are talking about an allegation of sexual
assault, and I never sexually assaulted anyone, and I did not have sexual intercourse in high
school or anything close to sexual intercourse in high school or for many years thereafter…"
Kavanaugh's statement rings true for many who attended all-girl or all-boys Catholic
high schools in the 1980's.
I graduated from St. Joseph Catholic High School in 1982, an all-girls private school,
and we also had an all-boys Catholic brother school which we had dances with and socialized
with on a regular basis.
Back then, not one of my friends had sexual intercourse in high school.
A few that we heard of through vague rumors that may have, well, it was viewed as so scandalous,
it was just plain shocking to my group of friends.
Sure, we had parties where people got drunk.
But it was so ingrained in our culture that sexual intercourse outside of marriage was
a grave sin, along with birth control was a sin, that something like a gang-rape is
