Waterfall of Entraigues under the snow - Puy de Dôme - France [DJI Phantom 4 PRO] - Duration: 5:53.

Hello, today I am in Auvergne , in Puy de Dôme

in Egliseneuve d'Entraigues

and I am going to see the Waterfall of Entraigues

And I am also totally frozen

It's very sunny today but it's also very cold

It's -4°C

And there is a lot of wind

Trust, I can feel it

So the path to the waterfall is simple

It's well indicated

On the website, I will add the GPS coordinates

You have to park next to a lake

The Lake of Entraigues

It's also a camping place

It does not look like a great place since you are next to the road and a camping place

but from here, you can make some great pictures

Tanks to this tree

I have already been here in automn

It's magnificent, it's deep orange

It's the river called Clamouze which falls

It's 18 meters high fall

I think I was too happy to quickly

It is indeed stunning

Superb

The ice, the snow everywhere

but taking pictures of it

It's not going to work

I will have to accept it's a fail

Let me explain it why

One half of the waterfall is in the sun

and the other half is in the shade

To start, this is tricky

In order to show it to you in video

I took a gratuated ND filter

I put it with the angle of the sun

I will then have less contrast

And I will then

have the sunny part not burnt

But it does not mean

On a video, you will then see the waterfall

all frozen

But it does not mean it's going to be pretty

So

I tried with the wide angle 17-40 mm : NOTHING

I am trying now with the 24-70 mm

NOTHING

The only chance I have

is to go and get some stalagtites over there

70-200 mm, I will add my 1,4X extender

in order to see far

I am a bit frustrated

I am totally frustrated !

I am trying now with the 70-200 mm to see how it looks

I will try to look for

the details

but I do not think I will be able to do a nice photo today

with the wide angle

I will do it anyway

for the documentary part

But in order to have a nice image

which I am proud of

It won't be today

Let's have a look

Here is the composition I found

For once,

I will not respect the rules

I will center my subject

Because there is ice on the left, and on the right

Stalagtites which have different forms

with some contrast

and in the center, the waterfall which drops

with the ND6 filter

1,3 sec

As you can see, it works a bit

It's I think the best photo I will do of this waterrfall today

because

I may have not come on the good day

It's missing some foreground in the photo

It's all flat, it's only ice

I ma not able to catch the view with the eye

I will not have

any depth in the picture

There are some days like that, when everything is wrong

Now if I want to do a good photo of this waterfall

with some snow

I will then have to come back

But it does not bother me at all :)
