BATMAN | Batman v Superman | Featurette [+SUBTITLES] - Duration: 5:00.

We had designed one grappling gun with carbon fiber

and we tried to give it a little bit of a techy look.

It shoots that dart out.

There's a CG cable that goes out with it.

Zack was like, "l think that should be wood."

<i>He thought, "I 'd really like to add some more organic materials into the gun</i>

These are some of the weapons that we've used throughout the movie.

This is his grenade launcher.

He uses this during the mech suit fight.

We fabricated this. It's supposed to be a carbon-fiber canister.

This is Batman's long-range rifle that shoots a tracking device.

This is the Batarang of choice for the movie.

We wanted some earlier generation, so we decided to make this as well.

Just to show that there is a transition.

He has evolved in terms of his technology.

Zack, he wanted our Batman to be a brutish kind of a brawler.

Batman, when he's fighting, he's in charge.

The odds may be against him,

he may be fighting five, six, seven, eight guys at one time,

but he's in charge.

He doesn't cower to anyone.

And although being very strong and very physically fit,

he can take you down in a number of ways.

And he's very technical,

and you see this guy's moves, and you see what he can do.

WILKINSON: His power wasn't through the armor

and the technical details of the suit,

but just the brute strength of the man inside the suit.

BEN: <i>I got in the best shape that I'd ever been in,</i>

and then I sort of got past that.

'Cause we were going for this idea of like a big, hulking,

thicker, bruiser physique,

<i>which wasn't lithe and ripped, it was more like big and brawler.</i>

Fifteen months ahead of time,

I was training four and then five, and then, ultimately, six days a week.

It's hard to add muscle to your body, especially at my age.

lfstough.

And that's what we did.

I ended up putting on about two-and-a-half pounds of muscle a month,

and really, really changing my body completely.

You could see there was muscle definition from head to toe.

He was incredibly ripped.

The suit, in fact, skims the body, you can see every muscle.

So, it's this incredibly intimidating figure

that looks a lot like the way he's drawn in the graphic novel.

Even through the boots, through the gloves

you get this impression of a tower of strength.

Zack really wanted it to pay homage to the batsuits

in the graphic novels and comic books over the last 75 years of his history.

GEOFF JOHNS: Well, the greatest thing about the new costume,

I think, is that we have the gray back.

Just because we've been armored in black and it's cool, that they've done it.

And now the fact that we get to go back to this gray look

with the big black bat and the short ears.

WILKINSON: Zack really wanted the costume

to look like it'd been around for a long time,

that he'd fought in this costume over the decades.

He wanted the sense that there's a battle-worn quality to the costume.

So, from head to toe, there's wear and tear.

There's scratches, there's bullet holes.

There's all sorts of signs that he's been out there on the streets

for a long time now.

<i>It's interesting, 'cause the batsuit may at first appearances seem</i>

quite simple and low-tech.

But the costume technologies

and the thinking that goes into achieving that look

are actually pretty cutting edge.

We create a mannequin of him, we do the muscle-sculpt on top of that.

And then, of course, you have to make the molds,

and make the positives and the negatives.

Pour the foam latex, tint the latex, paint the cowl.

It's a huge achievement in costume engineering.

ZACK: The mech suit doesn't really make him stronger, necessarily.

We don't really show that.

But it does... There's more armor in case Superman hits him.

WILKINSON: What Zack liked about it is this sense

that it's something that a guy has put together, welded,

prototyped in his workroom.

It's kind of unfinished and raw and oversized, and a little brutish.

And that worked for our idea

of him having to really put everything into this suit

in order to prepare to face Superman

and feel like he had some chance against this incredible superhero.

Henry'|| come in and he'll do that, but then it's a right hook.

Okay.

Let me tell you, when you're in the rain, up on a rooftop, shooting IMAX,

it's not the most practical thing.

But we made a determination that we wanted to use the real mech suit.

It definitely grounds the fight in reality.

And the way that Henry reacts to Ben when he's in that suit,

I think, is different than if it was just a mocap suit.

Of course there are scenes,

because some of the fighting is extremely difficult

and you can't move in that suit that much,

where we did use the motion capture suit

but we tried, whenever possible, to go with the real thing.

Challenge 002# 3-Marker-Challenge [ with Voiceover ] - Duration: 11:05.

Welcome to my channel and today I will show you a another Challenge which is the 3 Marker challenge

surely you might have noticed, that I had finally spoken and that's because I have a high pitched voice and mumble a bit

so I didn't really wanted to speak on the camera

but I think it's better to speak because, so I can explain for you e.g. what rules the challenges have

and that you might have a clue, what for a person is hiding behind the camera

and Voila! Now you know that I'm a young girl

with the meaning of...

But anyways, I'm gonna start now to explain the rules

therefore I give you an example

the simple rule is to take 3 Markers blind

"Blind" which means closed eyes

to randomly take 3 Markers

and you must color with the taken markers

In that case even if you took the "baddest colors"

Unfortunately you must color with these too

There are no exceptions and cheats

and if you have noticed in the other Challenge,

which was actually really conspicuous that I had drawn with an extra pen

If you haven't noticed the pen then congratulations!

But if you saw it then it's eventually this pen

which is a white pen

and I can't do a thing without this pen

because I'm really weak in color things in with markers

and e.g. color in hair which I use this pen to highlight

and that's why I always use this pen to highlight and to make details

Now we gonna to pull the markers

And I've prepared some bowls where the names of the markers are written down

You see a small and a bigger bowl

in the bigger bowl there are the grey shades, browns and skin tones

and in the other bowl there are intensive colors e.g. Blue, Red, Yellow, green shades and more colors

I will pull 2 numbers from the smaller bowl and 1 from the bigger bowl

As a small info

I don't have a basic skin tone because the basic skin tone is empty so I didn't put it with in

and there is no refill for the Marker so I can eventually throw it away...

If you want to know

the markers that I use are called Touchfive

and are basically an alternative like the actual copics

The touchfives are not the same good as copics

But on the other hand they're more cheaper than the copics

Even almost the same good as copics

just that copics are more expensive and a bit better to use than the touchfives

So now I'm gonna to pull the numbers

And have closed my eyes

Of course I can't prove you, that I didn't cheat, because you can't see me

But I will make sure, that I don't cheat :)

First I'm gonna pull from the grey shades

Well I can tell apart which bowl which is of its height

and I'm really excited that I don't get bad colors

and I don't know if you can see the number

I hope that you can see the number

and I'm really excited

I will put it here

Then I'm gonna pull from the other bowl

I wish that all the colors are bright and smooth

because I actually wanted to color in the hair with pink

But when I'm do this challenge...

And the last number

I'm really curious

So now I've opened my eyes

and I'm really amazed and at the same time disappointed

because I've pulled the baddest colors

I'm really disappointed that I pulled the bad colors

I don't know what to do with these colors

and the next clip will be shown as a speedpaint

and I will correct this artwork quick before I color it in

You don't have to worry

And it's very a pity that the pen has not very much content

but

if you really draw much with these pens

then you must buy more of these pens

what I also will do in the future

some other youtubers just throw their pens on the desk

and take their pens even if they had closed their eyes

it looks like

that they cheat and pick up a certain marker

Thats why these bowls are more easier to use

and it looks less suspicious

After you picked up your colors

then you always must clean your desk, what also takes your time

Just write the Colornumbers on a paper

and cut it small and if you do more challenges

you just can reuse it

Hi survivors, here we are again for the 14th episode of Update Express, for the 153th Devblog.

As you've probably seen if you're here since at least 1 month, I'm making more and more non french videos,

Let's begin, this week new binoculars are in. We can see even further with it that with the x4 scope, so it's easier to look at the neighbor's wife.

About the russian roulette, now if you throw somthing on it will stick on it's place even if you turn it (I don't even know if this is english)

Oh and this netting has seen its cost reduced. It costs now 4 Ropes and 200Wood instead of metal.

A BIG change about furnaces, they can't vomit anymore, if a furnace is full, it will just turn of to limit server lags.

For the one who never seen that, that was the time of the charcoal factory :/ Now you can't do that anymore.

You should see more crossbows this week because its cost has been changed too, it now costs 200wood, 75 metal frags and 2 ropes.

C4 only costs 2 tech trashed now, holosight only 1, the silencer is cheaper, and the muzzle break is more accurate and durable.

Oh and one last change that will be really useful, you can now pick up turrets, candles and lantern if you have the acces to the cupboard.

The World's Bird Poop Obsession - Duration: 4:50.

Throughout history, humans have prized a lot of animals for making products that we find

beautiful or useful.

Silkworms for their silk, whales for their blubber, sheep for their wool.

But in the mid-1800s, a bird called the guanay cormorant was considered the most valuable

in the world!

It was nicknamed the 'billion dollar bird,' because its poop, or guano, was an amazing

fertilizer.

At the beginning of the 19th century, populations were exploding – and all those people needed

to eat.

Large-scale agriculture had been booming for a few hundred years, and soils were quickly

getting depleted of nutrients.

Enter Alexander von Humboldt, European explorer extraordinaire.

While exploring the coast of Peru in 1802, von Humboldt came across workers unloading

a shipment of guano from the Chincha Islands.

Indigenous cultures in the area had been using the guano on these islands as a source of

fertilizer for hundreds of years, so von Humboldt definitely didn't discover guano.

But, like any good explorer, he took a sample of it back with him to Europe.

And at the time, people didn't know much about the science of fertilizers.

Farmers recognized that adding things like ground-up bones, ash or feces to soil helped

plants grow, but scientists weren't sure why this worked.

We now know the answer is elementary.

Actually elementary — like literally it's elements that are involved.

These materials all have a lot of nitrogen, phosphorus, and other elements that help plants

grow.

Plants use nitrogen to make important proteins and pigments, like chlorophyll, which lets

them absorb sunlight and do photosynthesis and not die.

Phosphorus is needed to make DNA and RNA, as well as cell membranes and the molecules

all living things use to make and store energy.

Without these elements, plants can't make more cells or even function with the cells

they have.

But even if scientists had known this at the time, it wouldn't have helped them very

much – there just weren't many good sources of nitrogen and phosphorus that plants could

use.

There's plenty of nitrogen in the air, of course, but plants can't just suck it in

like carbon dioxide.

They usually rely on bacteria in soil to convert, or fix, the nitrogen into a slightly different

form -- like nitrate or ammonium --- that they can actually use.

If the soil has been exhausted of these chemicals, it's really hard to grow crops.

Which brings us back to the Chincha Islands.

It turns out, bird guano is amazingly rich with these sources of fixed nitrogen and phosphorus.

In fact, it's even better than cow dung or horse dung.

Cows and horses only eat plants.

But guanay cormorants feast almost entirely on anchovy-like fish.

That protein-rich diet means a lot of nitrogen eventually shows up in their poop!

Plus, bird poop is really poop and pee combined, so that's extra nitrogen and phosphorus

that other animal dung leaves out.

As for why this natural fertilizer could just pile up, thank the dry climate of coastal

Peru.

In most of the world, bird poop will simply get washed away.

But ocean currents from Antarctica ensure it almost never rains on the islands, allowing

guano to harden, locking in layer upon layer upon layer of nitrate-phosphate goodness.

So, when word finally reached Europe that von Humboldt had potentially found a great

new source of fertilizer… they went crazy for it.

Almost immediately, the Peruvian government started huge mining operations, selling the

guano to any country that wanted it.

Other countries got involved, too.

In 1856, the United States even went so far as to pass the Guano Islands Act, which allowed

American citizens to claim any island they wished, so long as it had guano on it and

wasn't already claimed by another country.

Guano miners came from all over the world, harvesting the seemingly limitless resource.

But while the guano boom was great for agriculture, it was bad news for the guanay cormorant and

other seabirds that called the islands home.

Miners ate the birds and their eggs -- which was not really smart, when you think about

it -- and destroyed their habitat to the point that their populations began to fall.

By the 1870s, most of the guano on these islands had been already been mined.

A few decades later, Peru started protecting the remaining cormorants -- it's one of

the first examples of a government stepping in to protect a natural resource.

But for the guano industry, it was too late.

With fewer droppings to mine, and the discovery of artificial fertilizer, the guano boom went

bust.

German chemist Fritz Haber had figured out how to fix nitrogen from the air and turn

it into ammonia, which could in turn be used to develop synthetic fertilizers.

These worked just as well, if not better, than guano.

We've been using these fertilizers for decades to feed billions of people.

But guano might not have outlived its usefulness just yet.

Recently, the rise of organic farming has increased demand for high-quality organic

fertilizers, and guano is one of the best.

A praia de Taganga - EP 03 - Duration: 3:57.

From Tayrona National Park we took a taxi to Santa Marta, then the girls left as it was their last day here in

Colombia and I decided to go to Taganga, a small fishermen village 5km away from Santa Marta

and that became really famous between backpackers. By the way, Santa Marta can be used as a gate to visit

a lot of other places on that region, as Costeño Beach and the Tayrona Park that we visited,

Taganga and a lot of other places. From Santa Marta you can take a bus to Taganta which costs

COPS 1500 (US$ 1,00). This trip takes around 20 minutes. Usually travellers go to Taganga before

going to the Tayrona National Park, which is the park I showed on the previous video.

From Taganga you can take a minivan to the park entrance or take a boat.

Taganga has no waves at the sea and the waters are cristal clear. There are a bunch of stuff to do there,

like scuba diving, snorkeling, daytrips to a beach nearby called Playa blanca and so on

What I decided to do was to walk on a trail just next to the beach and on the mountains around the city.

On this trail you get to a lot of other small beaches with cristal clear waters. The further you go, less people are

around on those small beaches.

After like one hour and a half walking you get to the end of the trail, which is at the Tayrona National Park.

From that point you have to walk back, as the entrance there is not allowed.

The most famous beach around that area is the Playa Grande, which is just on the other side of the first hill.

It is really easy to get there, you just have to walk for like 20 minutes and on that beach you are gonna see a lot of people.

There are also lots of bars and restaurants if you want to hang out around there.

A cool place to watch the sunset is the main beach just in front of the city.

The sunset there is beautiful. This beach is small and simple, but good for swimming.

On the weekends this beach gets full of locals coming from Santa Marta and cities around.

Taganga is pretty, relaxed and has a strong backpacker atmosphere. As it is located nearby Santa Marta, you

just do it on a daytrip. My last sugestion is that you should take money if you go to Taganga, as there

is only one ATM in Taganga and maybe it could be broken or out of money

Challenge 002# 3-Marker-Challenge [ with Voiceover ] - Duration: 11:05.

Welcome to my channel and today I will show you a another Challenge which is the 3 Marker challenge

surely you might have noticed, that I had finally spoken and that's because I have a high pitched voice and mumble a bit

so I didn't really wanted to speak on the camera

but I think it's better to speak because, so I can explain for you e.g. what rules the challenges have

and that you might have a clue, what for a person is hiding behind the camera

and Voila! Now you know that I'm a young girl

with the meaning of...

But anyways, I'm gonna start now to explain the rules

therefore I give you an example

the simple rule is to take 3 Markers blind

"Blind" which means closed eyes

to randomly take 3 Markers

and you must color with the taken markers

In that case even if you took the "baddest colors"

Unfortunately you must color with these too

There are no exceptions and cheats

and if you have noticed in the other Challenge,

which was actually really conspicuous that I had drawn with an extra pen

If you haven't noticed the pen then congratulations!

But if you saw it then it's eventually this pen

which is a white pen

and I can't do a thing without this pen

because I'm really weak in color things in with markers

and e.g. color in hair which I use this pen to highlight

and that's why I always use this pen to highlight and to make details

Now we gonna to pull the markers

And I've prepared some bowls where the names of the markers are written down

You see a small and a bigger bowl

in the bigger bowl there are the grey shades, browns and skin tones

and in the other bowl there are intensive colors e.g. Blue, Red, Yellow, green shades and more colors

I will pull 2 numbers from the smaller bowl and 1 from the bigger bowl

As a small info

I don't have a basic skin tone because the basic skin tone is empty so I didn't put it with in

and there is no refill for the Marker so I can eventually throw it away...

If you want to know

the markers that I use are called Touchfive

and are basically an alternative like the actual copics

The touchfives are not the same good as copics

But on the other hand they're more cheaper than the copics

Even almost the same good as copics

just that copics are more expensive and a bit better to use than the touchfives

So now I'm gonna to pull the numbers

And have closed my eyes

Of course I can't prove you, that I didn't cheat, because you can't see me

But I will make sure, that I don't cheat :)

First I'm gonna pull from the grey shades

Well I can tell apart which bowl which is of its height

and I'm really excited that I don't get bad colors

and I don't know if you can see the number

I hope that you can see the number

and I'm really excited

Then I'm gonna pull from the other bowl

I wish that all the colors are bright and smooth

because I actually wanted to color in the hair with pink

But when I'm do this challenge...

And the last number

I'm really curious

"The last color"

"The last color of the choice"

And the number is..

I don't even know what the number is

Therefore I put it down

So now I've opened my eyes

and I'm really amazed and at the same time disappointed

because I've pulled the baddest colors

and

The numbers are "CG8, 70 and 50"

You probably can't see it

it's called "Royal Blue"

and it's a dark blue

then I take the

Sorry I must look for the color

the number 70

I've found it

I mean 50

it's called "forest green"

a very dark green

and the last color

is number CG8

i must search al bit

and I've found it

and its a very dark grey shade

I'm really disappointed that I pulled the bad colors

and

I don't know what to do with these colors

but I hope I can make something useful with these

and the next clip will be shown as a speedpaint

and I will correct this artwork quick before I color it in

You don't have to worry

I wouldn't color in like this

And I'm really amazed that I could color it in with these bad colors

and

like I've said

That i can't draw without this and only pen

So if you want more information about this pen

very easy

you can buy it in every stationary

I bought my on "Mac paper"

I even bought 2 of them

And how you can see

these pens consume very fast

that's why I must buy a bit more of them

These pens are not very cheap

so about 2 euros

How the pens are called

they are called white gel pen

and

how you can see its consuming very fast

from up there to down there

and

the other pens content

it's just that much

And it's very a pity that the pen has not very much content

but

if you really draw much with these pens

then you must buy more of these pens

what I also will do in the future

and

a small Lifehack

like what you saw in the video

the bowls

and it's very easy

e.g. some other youper...you... yourpersters :D

some other youtubers just throw their pens on the desk

and take their pens even if they had closed their eyes

it looks like

that they cheat and pick up a certain marker

Thats why these bowls are more easier to use

and it looks less suspicious

After you picked up your colors

then you always must clean your desk, what also takes your time

Just write the Colornumbers on a paper

and cut it small and if you do more challenges

you just can reuse it
