For S. Korea, West Sea represents a history of conflict - Duration: 4:13.

On this fourth Friday of March, Koreans remember those who sacrificed their lives to defend

their nation... along the inter-Korean sea border in the West Sea.

An overview of what makes the West Sea such a contentious area that's so ripe for conflict:

our news feature tonight with Kim Jung-soo.

The attack on the Cheonan warship was the deadliest ever in the West Sea, claiming the

lives of 46 young South Korean sailors.

The remains of the vessel are on display in Pyeongtaek, Gyeonggi-do Province by the South

Korean Navy's Second Fleet.

"Coming here and learning about it, I start thinking about the possibility that the soldiers

could have been part of my family, and that their pains could also have been mine."

"I feel devastated by the sight.

I think the navy must become stronger... and I hope the world knows about North Korea's

actions."

"The sinking of the Cheonan warship back in 2010 serves as a grim reminder of the fact

that peace on the Korean peninsula is not a given, but must be achieved with dedication

and sacrifice.

Seven years later, however, security conditions in the West Sea have become increasingly complex,

making peace a much more difficult goal to attain."

At the heart of the security issue is the Northern Limit Line, the maritime border between

North and South Korea in the West Sea that runs along five major islands: Baengnyeong-do,

Daecheong-do, Socheong-do, Yeonpyeong-do and U-do.

"The concept of the Northern Limit Line was absent from the armistice agreement signed

between the UN Command, North Korea and China in July of 1953.

Then on August 30th of the same year, the UN Command unilaterally announced the boundaries

of the NLL... to keep its own ships from heading up north... and notified North Korea.

And for the next 20 years, North Korea didn't make any claims disputing the boundary."

But the UN Convention on the Law of the Sea, finalized in 1982, which granted member nations

territorial rights over waters less than 12 nautical miles off their coastlines... emboldened

North Korea to make its own claims.

In 1999, the North proposed its own version of the Northern Limit Line, saying it had

assumed control of the five major West Sea islands -- proclamations that South Korea

promptly rejected because it doesn't recognize the North Korean government as legitimate.

"According to the UN convention, the two Koreas need to work out an agreement on waters in

which their territorial rights overlap.

For that to happen, South Korea must accept North Korea as a proper nation, but our Constitution

doesn't see it that way."

There are other points of contention relative to the West Sea.

Seoul and Beijing have repeatedly held talks to try and reach agreement on a mutual boundary

for their exclusive economic zones, but that's not their only headache.

"There is an increasing number of so-called maritime militia in China.

These are fishermen who are highly trained to use military weaponry, hence they're operating

in a gray zone.

They don't use military vessels, so we can't say whether we should use peacetime or wartime

strategies, but they can always be used for real operations."

Meanwhile, some experts speculate that patient negotiations with North Korea could result

in a win-win situation for all involved.

"Chinese vessels have purchased fishing rights in North Korea's West Sea territory... and

are using the dubious situation along the Northern Limit Line to their advantage.

There's no clear-cut way to deal with this problem directly.

But if the two Koreas agreed on some way to share the economic zone near the NLL, that

could also indirectly solve the problem of Chinese fishing boats."

While the South Korean lives lost near the Northern Limit Line have come as the result

of North Korean munitions, it also seems hard to deny that they are, in a sense, victims

of a growing international trend that values exclusivity over sharing and mutual benefit

-- a trend that, tragically, has resulted in

greater disorder in the West Sea.

Hello. Welcome to the app recommendation screencast

of Stiftung Lesen and Deutsche Telekom Stiftung.

My name is Sigrid Fahrer.

Today I would like to introduce you,

the volunteer readers, to "The Human Body" app.

A learning app designed to help children at primary school level

learn more about how their body works.

The app itself comes virtually without any text.

The reading text is provided in a separate manual

that you can download free of charge

from the website of the app design studio.

Before we start, we first need to set up a player profile.

It is recommended that you do this prior to the reading session

so that you can get started right away with the first unit.

One note on the protection of children and adolescents:

At the bottom of the dashboard there is a link to the App Store.

Please restrict access to the store by setting a password.

So let's open the menu and select the first chapter.

This chapter describes the nervous system and the sensory organs.

To prepare for the subject

you might bring a selection of objects with a variety of different surface structures

which the children can feel with their eyes blindfolded.

This gives them a live experience of how their nerves work.

For they tell them whether something is rough, soft, or has sharp edges.

Read aloud from the manual:

The brain is constantly sending and receiving signals from tiny cells called neurons.

These messages are transmitted along the spinal cord.

Through neurons, our brains process messages from the skin, eyes, ears, nose, and tongue

about how things feel, look, sound, smell, and taste.

Now illustrate this using the interactive graphics.

At whichever point you touch the body, signals are transmitted to the brain.

What happens in our brain when somebody tickles us?

Let's try it and see:

The nerves transmit a great many impulses, and we laugh.

Read aloud the passage on laughing from the manual.

This way, using a combination of reading, explaining, talking and experimenting,

discover other fascinating aspects of the human anatomy.

How about the eyes, for example?

Tap on the eyes.

The camera integrated in the tablet will now take a picture

and illustrate how it is perceived in the eye.

It is actually upside down.

How did that happen?

Read from the manual or explain in your own words.

You can also activate the display of the terminology for better understanding.

The expressions can then be shuffled around

and re-assigned together with the children.

How do our pupils react to darkness?

Let the children cover the camera.

How do they react to light?

Allow one child to shine the flashlight into the eye.

As the app explains many complex anatomical relationships

that are not so easy to grasp at a first glance,

we recommend that you concentrate on a particular area

and explore it together in detail.

Depending on the children's age,

you can collect supplementary information from books

and incorporate them in the app.

Simply activate the speech bubble,

tap on the area you want to comment on,

and start speaking.

What's more:

Your spoken comment, again, can also be enhanced by a comment.

Our conclusion:

"The Human Body" is a learning app offering in-depth information

to guarantee hours and hours of discovery fun.

Ensuring an effective reading aloud session will require some level of preparation,

but the time and effort is most definitely worthwhile.

The app with its multitude of interactive features and experiments

will kindle the children's fascination for biology.

Reading aloud from the manuals, in turn, will demonstrate

that reading is not limited to books, but can also be experienced with pdf files.

Striker and Magnum took roughly the same time to develop.

However, while the rocket launcher was more demanding on the programming side,

artillery took longer in the creation of graphics and sound effects.

Before they actually started working on the Magnum,

our game-designers were considering two possible variants for this turret

the classic artillery, where the barrel goes up and down,

AND a kind of Bombard, which is a short barrel cannon,

where the turret has a fixed angle, but can rotate horizontally.

We chose not to make the Bombard, because we didn't find it cool enough.

Our plan was to have an artillery turret that would be great at mid to long distances,

but suffer at close combat.

It's not just the controls of this turret that work differently,

but also the sound effects.

For example, the sound of a shot depends on its speed.

Here's the sound of a slow shot…

and here's what a shot at maximum velocity sounds like…

Artillery also has 2 new kinds of sounds.

The first one is the sound the projectile makes when it's about to hit you,

like when a Striker rocket flies close to you.

So, when Magnum is about to hit you, you'll definitely hear it!

The other one, is a distant booming sound.

You will hear this no matter how far away you are from the turret,

and it is a reminder to all the players on the map,

of Magnum's terrifying power.

Now the practical part.

Artillery is very good at team battles,

but if you're skillful enough, you can also be quite successful at Deathmatch.

These are the turret's strong points:

HUGE damage.

Artillery with Double Damage,

can one-shot kill a heavy hull of the same modification level.

The biggest splash damage in the game.

In fact, it is not uncommon to deal damage to two, three, or even four tanks.

The ability to shoot from behind cover.

You can deal damage to enemies from a point where they can't hit you.

But what about the weak points?

This is a very new, and really challenging turret to use.

First of all, the control keys work differently.

Pressing the left turret rotation key, will point Magnum down, and vice versa.

It can be a bit confusing at first,

but as you might know, it is now possible to customize controls.

The second, is that this turret gives you limited visibility,

because it doesn't rotate horizontally.

This makes it impossible to look around while driving to a location.

And of course, there's the huge self- damage that can ruin your kill/death ratio.

One more thing.

Although this turret can fire from behind cover,

its booming sound, big flash,

projectile trail, and long barrel sticking out from behind cover,

make it fairly easy to find.

And here's an important tip:

Shaft can actually hit Magnum's barrel.

Damage indicators are a very important tool for the Artillery user,

since you can't always see where your projectile has landed,

and whether there was anyone there.

But thanks to this feature,

you'll be able to know whether you need to correct your aim,

or whether you've destroyed your target and need to find another one.

So, make sure you always keep this setting activated.

And to conclude, "Why «Magnum»? Couldn't you come up with something better?"

This name won, because of the raison d'être… the "Why".

In Latin, Magnum means "The Great". High caliber shells are also called Magnum.

Additionally, it is an international word,

and most people pretty much understand that "Magnum is something powerful"

Hey guys today we're gonna talk about 3 maybe 3.5 useful websites for Rust.

You might know them all, maybe not, but I'd bet you don't know them all.

What do I bet? Let's say -NOTHING-

So First, this is my first video fully done in english (exept for my little short movie),

We start with the one you all know I think, it's Rustafied.

"Why is it so good then?" Because it gives you infos about the next update like 2 or 3 days before the devblog.

They have a bunch of different servers, and they have some big guides too.

The second one is just my favorite one. I've always wanted to make an android or iOs app like this,

but I don't know how to do it, so now I just have my Youtube Money :kappa: I gave up.

It's just amazingly done, you have a full wiki on all weapons, resources, and animals of the game etc etc.

Nananananah, that's not all,

They are working on even more usefull fonctions like a calculator,

You tell him what you want, like 5c4 and maybe some rockets to go with it,

And it will give you the exact amount of what you need.

If you've alraedy farmed, just put that in this tabs and it will just remove what you already have from the recipe.

The 3rd one is, let's say... I don't know anyone who know it, and it's pretty sad, especialy for builders.
