Hello once again everyone, and welcome
back to 'One English Tip in One Minute for
Speakers of Chinese (and its many
language varieties)'. In these videos, I
discuss each week, in detail, one common
English mistake made by Chinese speakers,
and this is video number 23.
So yes, I know I probably sound like a
broken record by now, but I think it's a
very cool, smart and practical thing to
do for you to improve your English. I
hope you keep it up. In these videos, I
show you a slide, and on the slide there
are two sentences: One is the correct
way a native English speaker would say
something,
the other is the wrong way that many
Chinese speakers say it. Your job is to
decide which one is correct. Do that
now. Read the sentences,
listen to me read the sentences, pause
the video, think about your answer and,
again, I will discuss the answer in the
slide that follows this slide.
If you didn't get it -- or you kind of guessed
right but don't really know why you got
it right -- it just simply means you need
to study this a bit more. You're like
many other Chinese speakers out there.
To get you started on that process I've
given you three sentences to study from.
As I always remind you -- because it is
important -- study the sentences in their
entirety, review them, really drill them
into your brain and then put into
practice what you've learned through
speaking or writing or both...and again
it's always a good idea to go outside of
these videos and try to learn more from
the billions, well, many resources on the
internet and in bookstores.
