Youtube daily report Jun 6 2018

My name is Dr. John P. Fischer.

I'm a plastic surgeon here at the University of Pennsylvania.

An example of a patient that was recently treated here

at the Penn Hernia center was a patient of mine.

Who's a forty-five year old gentleman.

He had a previous hernia repair following a colectomy

in which he had his colon removed and he an recurrance

of his hernia so he came to my office with a fairly large

lower abdominal hernia.

So when he first came in to see me,

we spent significant time going through his history

and also obtaining all of his previous operable reports

to get a better understanding of his unique condition

and we also talked in a lot of detail

about how the hernia bothered him and how it affected him

and the activities that really meant the most to him.

And we also learned a lot about what types of approaches

we could offer this patient based on his unique conditions

including his recurring hernia, the fact that is was below the

umbilicus or belly button and the fact that

the patient was obese.

So we offered several different interventions including

placing the mesh on the inside of the abdomen verses

placing the mesh beneath the muscles.

Placing the mesh beneath the muscles leads to a lower chance

of the hernia comes back and really that's our goal,

we try to fix these more complex hernia's

is try not to have it come back.

Because of the different types of techniques

that we're able to offer, we're able to use a state-of-the-art

type of flap called the "TAR" flap,

which is transversus abdominis where we release one of the

inner muscles of the abdominal wall without having to raise

any skin flaps up which means the patient has a lower chance

of developing a post operative wound complication.

This patient did great following his surgery.

He left the hospital after day two and recovered quite well.

He's able to go back to doing the things

that he really cared about which included playing sports

and really being involved with his two children at home.

Dr. Virginia Apgar Biography - Duration: 2:09.

Dr. Virginia Apgar Biography will be helpful for the people to understand the American

obstetrical anesthesiologist and the leader in the fields of anesthesiology and teratology,

and introduced obstetrical considerations to the established field of neonatology.

Every baby born in a modern hospital anywhere in the world is looked at first through the

eyes of Dr. Virginia Apgar. Her simple, rapid method for assessing newborn viability, the

"Apgar score," has long been standard practice.

Developed in the early 1950s and quickly adopted by obstetric teams, the method reduced infant

mortality and laid the foundations of neonatology. While best known for this achievement, Apgar

was also a leader in the emerging field of anesthesiology during the 1940s and in the

new field of teratology (the study of birth defects) after 1960.

Apgar was born in Westfield, New Jersey, on June 7, 1909, to a family that "never sat

down." She was the youngest of the three children of Charles E. Apgar, an insurance executive,

and Helen May Apgar. The family was a musical one, and Virginia learned to play the violin

as a child, and continued throughout her life.

Apgar received her AB from Mount Holyoke in 1929 and began her medical training at Columbia

University's College of Physicians and Surgeons (P & S), one of only nine women in a class

of ninety.

She completed her MD in 1933 and started a two-year surgical internship at Presbyterian

Hospital.

In 1949, the Division of Anesthesiology became a department. Apgar expected to be named chair,

but the position was given to a male colleague, Emanuel Papper.

Apgar, however, was appointed a full professor of anesthesiology at P & S, the first woman

to hold that rank there.

Apgar never retired, and remained active until shortly before her death, though she was slowed

down by progressive liver disease during her final years.

She died on August 7, 1974, at Columbia-Presbyterian Medical Center, where she had trained and

then worked for much of her life.

An unforgettable spring in Kyoto - Duration: 18:07.

Welcome to this new episode of Fushigi Nippon

where we'll discover famous spots of Kyoto

but also funny spots of Japan in general.

I just arrived in what in my eyes is

the most beautiful city of Japan...

Kyoto.

I'll try a lot of things out here in Kyoto!

I'm now in a Kaitenzushi, in Kyoto...

with my friend Emi.

What's this?

*This a sushi made of fish eggs*

*Do you want to try?*

It looks like Dragon Balls...

*Yes, the colour*

I'm in the sushiiiiii paradiiiiiise!

Which one I'll eat? I don't know yeeeeeet!

The only thing that I know is that I'm hungryyyyy!

And this one is?

*This is the Chūtoro* (medium fatty tuna)

The Chūtoro...

*Yes*

In other words, it's the little brother of the Ōtoro, right?

*Yes, yes, exactly!*

*Let's try the Chūtoro!*

You're skilled!

In a Kaitenzushi, you can serve yourself directly

on the rotating carpet or...

make an order with the little touchscreen.

When the order is ready, a notification appears

on the touchscreen.

You can enjoy the green tea and all sauces

as much as you want.

A little washbassin for sushi plates

is available at each table.

The plates are added up on the touchscreen...

once we reach 10 plates...

a short anime appears on the screen.

In function of the anime that appears,

a little toy can be win that comes from above.

*Impressive*

What's this?

*This is...*

*How should I explain it?*

It looks strange!

*It's the thing of the fish...*

*How can I explain?*

*I don't know but it's delicious!*

It's looks weird, right?

*Yes, that's right*

It looks like a kind of mayo sauce...

*Totally not!*

You like weird things, don't you?

*No, no! I just like delicious things, that's all!*

So, I was trying to find out what that sushi was...

while looking at the color and texture of it...

I tought that it was a kind of fish stomach.

Actually it was not! It was something made

of fish sperm. If I had knew, the following sequence

would never have existed...

*Good luck!*

I'm now going to eat...

a fish stomach,...

his intestin...

She told me that it was awesome, I'll try right now!

I'm not ready for this kind of stuff!

But I'll try!

I have to think about chicken or a casual fish

and it will be all right!

We're walking in the Bamboo Forest...

in Arashiyama...

and because it's weekend, there're many people today!

It's crazy!

We're visiting the Fushimi Inari right now...

we'll try to reach to top...

I already did it once...

but she didn't, she gave up after 20 min.

That's what's she told me...

So I'll try to keep her motivate until the top...

and see that amazing view of Kyoto.

There're less people than in the beginning...

just after 15 min, because most of the people

stops at the entrance.

They stop after a couple of minutes

just to take some pictures and they go back home.

That's why it's "a path only for the strongest ones".

Those usually reach the top.

Like I said, I already did it once...

and I'll do it again! I know the way!

I think that we're now halfway.

We reached the point where we see the city of Kyoto.

My first time here, it lasted me more...

like 3 hours, because I went through all the small ways...

but this time we're going straight to the point!

Are you tired?

*No, I'm okay*

We're having a little break...

we did half of the job!

Is it good?

We're eating sushi's.

We did half of the job, so we have to go forward

for less than an hour...

to reach the top!

Once we arrive, I'll interview her...

like Nelson Monfort always does.

You did it! You did it, right?!

*Yes I diiiiid!*

How do you feel right now? A little comment please?

*It's magnificent!*

We reached the top very fast...

in less than 1 hour and a half...

I think that my first time here, I went through an illusion

because I walked for 5 hours before reaching.

Whaaaat?! Here, it's Enoshima!

Stop saying bullshit! You're here in Asakusa!

Where's that "vacant land" in front of my house?

Poor guy! What are you talking about?!

What the...? Are you blind or what?!

This is Yokohama!

We'll visit a temple...

the Ninna-ji temple...

in Kyoto.

It's raining, the weather is bad today...

but, yeah...

thanks to Emi she has an umbrella...

so I'm safe in other words!

I'm in a karaoke, warming my voice up...

with this micro!

I'm warming my voice up! You know!

You know how it works, right!

I only sing these ones that I know...

obviously!

I know some anime openings...

and some famous songs but that's all.

An opening usually last 1 minute...

an opening song last 4 minutes...

so yeah, I'm good until the end of that minute...

and then I usually simulate a voice problem.

A problem only understable by real artist.

We have to leave the karaoke in 10 minutes...

I'll sing one last time, but this time

I'll sing with my heart!

I'll give everything! All my soul!

I'm on fire guys!

Thank you!

What's... what's going on?

I don't hate singing...

but I've never had a standing ovation like this before.

I got it!

You want some more, right?

We're walking around in parc...

we were first in a temple that fusioned with this parc...

and there're a lot of little shops like in a matsuri.

What's the name of this place?

*The Maruyama parc*

I'm in a neko cafe (cat cafe)...

near the Fushimi Inari.

It's 600 yen for 20 minutes...

and the cats here are not obedient.

If you haven't any food they'll not come...

they will just ignore you.

You can give them some food...

that you can buy here, inside the cafe.

It's less than 200 yen that you have to add...

in addition of the entry price.

I'm going to feed them a little...

It's quite difficult to pet them...

because there isn't that trust relationship

between the human being and the animal...

instead of a cat that lives with you at home.

These cats are very difficult to touch...

only if you have something to eat in your hands.

Otherwhise, it will be very difficult to touch them...

also because you see them for maximum 1 hour.

No, not that... not thaaaat!

Caaaaaaats!

You're looking good!

Bastard! How do you know my weakness?!

We're visiting the Kiyomizu dera in Kyoto.

I heard that there was a magnificient nightvieuw...

and that in the evening the castle was shinning.

So... we're going to check that...

and while going up you can see

a beautiful view of Kyoto.

So we're going to take our chance and

go so high as possible.

Here we're in front of the fontain of the temple...

we have to drink a cup....

so I'll drink a cup for you guys! Cheers!

Now it's dinner time! So we're going to dinner...

in a restaurant where you can find "chicken tikka".

How should I explain what chicken tikka actually is?

It's the ultimate chicken!

A chicken maintained from generation to generation...

Chicken tikka is just a wonder!

It's just like Ōtoro except that it's chicken.

But I'll also eat some kebabs...

and... everthing that is "halal".

I'll eat everything because I'm very hungry!

I have a shortage of meat and proteins...

so, I'm going to fill up my reserve.

There's somebody that greeted me, behind...

she didn't saw that I was recording on my side,

but I appreciate!

We ordered and...

he brought us a soup teapot with cups.

It's teapot with soup inside...

it looks like Fanta!

Fanta in a cup!

I just received my plate.

I ordered some kebabs...

a tandoori chicken curry...

and some rice.

Let's see discover together...

here we have the tandoori chicken curry.

It's seems that the chicken fought until the end...

and here we have the kebabs...

he putted it on my plate like cigars.

He putted it in a weird manner, like "try this bro!"

I also wanted to introduce the place

where I usually stay when I'm in Kyoto.

An awesome guest house where the staff is...

wonderful!

Check this out!

The J-Hoppers has guest houses everywhere in Japan.

It's a guest house that likes to remember the travelers

who already came once

by putting some pictures of them on the walls.

The reception has very good advices for travelers.

The rooms are mainly equipped with bunk beds

but Japanese style rooms are also available

for 1 person of more.

Kimonos and masks can be rent at democratic price

at the reception desk.

You can find more in the description of the video...

don't hesitate to go check it!

And I'm reading a manga right now...

GTO.

That's the scene when...

he enters the class for the first time...

and he introduce himself.

"Hi everybody, it's me Onizuka!"

"I'm the Great Teacher!"

I'll be your head teacher from today!

I'm the Great Teacher Onizuka!

Nice to meet you guys!

I hope you really enjoyed this episode!

Don't forget to share it and subsribe to my channel...

and I hope to see you soon for my next video!

Omiya-san...

This street racer is an example.

I can smell the stench in her driving.

I will be the one to judge, if your driving will work in Kanagawa Prefecture!

Ah... I am impressed. I feel that you have a good aura around you.

Today I will return you the favor you gave on Irohazaka.

I bet that both you and your car has evolved, however...

...it won't be any sort of surprise to me now.

I will be the one in control this time!

There is nothing I could do now... The battle had been decided... I have to accept defeat, if I gave in my best and still lost.

During a street race,

There are times when odds stack up in your favor.

I hate winning unfairly like that.

You will never know what will happen before the finish line.

That is why Touges are so terrifying.

Listen up...

Even though you will be racing,

This is a battle for the entire team.

We will be cheering for you all the way!

Destroy them!

"Myogi/Hillclimb/Dry/Night"

I am lucky today!

Good luck have fun!

"Hakone/Hillclimb/Dry/Day"

RENOLIT DOLPHIN S Test Results - Fouling Release - Duration: 4:41.

At the beginning of 2015,

RENOLIT contacted us with a request for advice and consultation

in questions of fouling and anti-fouling measures.

The background is that RENOLIT is a renowned manufacturer of plastic films

and wanted to launch its first underwater anti-fouling film on the market.

As this was a new field of expertise for the company,

it requested consultation regarding the legal requirements,

the overall legal position

and what it has to do to prove effectiveness in order to,

ultimately, roll out the product on the market.

First of all, we examined the extent of fouling

in the Port of Norderney

if no anti-fouling measures are taken.

This involved a panel which was submerged in the water for three years

and which impressively illustrates

that substantial encrustation takes place even in temperate latitudes.

Very many mussels can be seen.

On top of the mussels,

one can see small sea anemones

which appear to be just hanging on and don't look particularly nice.

The yellow areas are meandering ascidians or sea squirts

and on top of the mussels are a large number of barnacles.

This is not what one wants of the surface of a hull.

I think it is obvious that these slow the vessel down

and if the steering gear was encrusted,

this could make the ship unmanouverable.

This here is a frame of panels

which has been statically exposed for an extended period.

Here we see a panel

coated with RENOLIT film

which has been on test at the Port since 2015.

The panel has therefore been exposed

to three fouling seasons without cleaning

and still looks good.

Next to it is an anti-fouling system containing biocides

which displays more encrustation

and these here were placed in the seawater later.

Here we see the extent of fouling

compared with no anti-fouling protection in the same period.

In other words,

we can see here how much encrustation would have occurred

without any anti-fouling measures and how much the RENOLIT system avoided.

The only fouling to be seen is on the frame.

Both are static tests

which do not fully reflect the prevailing reality on the hulls of vessels.

We therefore developed an additional dynamic test procedure

which we named the Rotomarin test rig.

This involves test panels being rotated

to simulate a speed of 12 knots

which is approximately the speed of coastal shipping in this area.

This naturally replicates real-life conditions on the hulls of vessels better

because the anti-adhesion effect is a decisive point.

The next steps are then tests on actual objects.

An example is the pier at the Port of Norderney,

half of which has been protected with RENOLIT film and the other half not.

The coated half displays much less fouling.

The last step is on real ship's hulls.

RENOLIT coated two test areas on a ferry

operatingin the Lower Saxon Wadden Sea National Park for two years,

and which to date, displays no encrustation.

This here is a dynamic panel

which we remove during the winter because no fouling takes place during this time

and because we can't place it in the water because of current considerations.

Compared to conventional anti-fouling systems,

RENOLIT has the major advantage that it is biocide-free.

95 % of vessels are currently protected with biocidal coatings

but such vessels may not be permitted to enter some ports in the future.

It is difficult to predict if and when some regional restrictions may come into force.

If such an effective biocide-free alternative is used,

then one not only promotes environmental protection

but ship-owners are also protected against potential restrictions.

Summer make-up tips - Duration: 4:21.

Health Network, For Public Health

Hi, you are listening to audio on mangyte.vn website

Summer make-up tips

Hot will make the skin more oily, pores expand, skin irritation, easy to dust, easy to acne and you easily lose confidence when the makeup.

However, just a little tip, you can always be beautiful, regardless of the weather like!

1. Skin Care:Although your skin is beautiful, you should not overlook the process of taking care of it.

It is best to supplement your skin with vitamins and minerals from nature.

- You can mix egg yolks with a few drops of lemon juice, rub on the face until the mixture is near dry, then rinse with plain water, do not use cleanser.

In this way, your skin will gradually soften, whiten, and pores are also reduced, made 1 to 2 times per week.

- Mix a few drops of lemon juice with honey, then apply the mixture to the face, within 10 to 15 minutes, then rinse with water, make your skin clean, healthy and smooth, only made 1 to 2 times. every week.

2. Makeup:

Make-up in the summer, should be very thin and do not make heavy makeup, the important thing is, makeup should help protect the skin from ultraviolet rays, avoid excessive sweating, reduce mucus, and prevent The acne grows due to clogged pores.

You only need 3 steps:

Step 1:Creams:The recent trend is to use lotion, to provide the minerals, and the moisture needed for the skin in the summer, so skip the foundation and apply a moisturizer. Sunscreen.

Step 2:Powder:Powder used in summer color should be lighter than winter, especially with SPF sun protection index, and high suction capacity.

Do not pollinate thick, just pollen is thin, after 2 to 3h can cover lightly once.

Skin is healthy and natural, always suitable for summer.

Step 3:The lines:so gentle but subtle:

- Eyebrows:Use lead to create a light eyebrow, then use the brush head, to disperse lead powder for the natural.

Use only light brown, avoid reddish brown, black.

- Eyes:Use fine eye color and high grip.

Use shades of gray, light pink, light blue, to create a cool feeling, and only use waterproof mascara.

- Lipstick:Skip lipstick, should use the brush to spread it evenly, pink color will be the best choice for summer.

- Blush:Nothing impressive, more natural than a beautiful skin, fresh roses in the summer.

To achieve this, apply a bronze color to your forehead, cheeks, nose and chin.

Then use light pink powder to spread evenly on the cheekbones.

3. Summer Rules:

Cleansing the skin before makeup is a must.

If your foundation does not have sun protection, apply a sunblock under the make-up area, for optimal skin protection in the summer.

Do not forget to bring paper with oil.

To prevent dry lips from becoming dehydrated, you should choose moisturizing lipstick.

Be careful not to use dark and hot tones.

Do not use aromatic cosmetics in the summer, because the smell increases the sun's harmful effects on the skin, making the skin more prone to burns.

Always cleanse and wash your face after makeup, and allow your skin to "breathe" for at least 3 to 4 hours a day.

Episode#41 Favorite controls? - Duration: 2:55.

hello and welcome to another edition of askExcyte I'm Tim Bushnell with expert

cytometry and today's question comes from Christine and she asks what are

your favorite controls for flow cytometry now Christine that's a great

question my answer is all of them let me expand upon that a little bit so during

the panel development phase as I'm optimizing my panel I'm going to use

every control I can conceivably think of so I'm going to have the florescence

minus one controls in every channel I'm going from doing a stimulation

experiment I'm going to make sure I have unstimulated in stimulated samples I'm

going to look for reference controls I'm hoping that during that process I will

identify internal negative controls and ways to find them I will not use an

isotype control but that's a separate story and we've talked about that on our

YouTube channel I mean you can refer back to that each of the controls the

goal is to help me set the best location for my gates so I can identify my

populations of interest and during the assay development phase I will use each

control to determine if it helps me or not if it does not help me then when I

go to the final production panel I won't be using it but you also have to think

about what you need and what each control gives you for example an

unstimulated control will help you understand the background binding in

your sample especially if your cells should not be expressing your target

antigen when they're not stimulated the FMO control can help you address issues

of spectral spillover into your channel of interest there are those cases where

sensitivity is reduced the internal negative controls are a great control

because they're treated the same as your positive sample they're inside there

they're in the same tube effectively but they're a population that should not be

expressing the targeted marker and they can also help you identify a positive

from negative gate so those are my favorite controls and again during panel

development is essential to use them all of them and figure out which ones are

important but once you go to production you only use the ones that are

absolutely necessary for you to find your population of interest especially

if you have limiting number of cells but in that

case you must use those controls that help you find that population because

otherwise how do you set the gates properly and that's really the bottom

line about why we use our controls and how we use them so thanks a lot for your

question Christine and remember if you have more

questions go to get flow training comm to get all your answers or email us here

at askexcyte@expert cytometry.com you could also hit us up with a hashtag

askexcyteso thanks for listening through another edition of askexcyte until

next time be sure to stay right here to get the best practices in flow cytometry

from your friends and flow Tim and team excyte

Sony Cybershot RX100 VI First Look - MEGAPIXEL - Duration: 4:14.

The design of the camera follows the RX100 design style, and as the saying goes "If

it isn't broken, don't fix it."

So if you're familiar with other RX100 cameras, the VI will be easy to use, however, the screen

has now been updated so that it can be moved more freely, and it's possible to tilt it

up 180 degrees (for selfies) and you can also tilt it down 90 degrees.

The Cyber-shot RX100 VI features a rather impressive 8.3x ZEISS Vario Sonnar T* 24-200mm

optical zoom lens, giving the user a focal length that goes from wide to telephoto in

a very small body.

The aperture range is also good ranging from f/2.8-4.5 and as the lens is ZEISS branded,

which means it has to pass ZEISS quality control standards.

As for the lens elements, there are 15 elements in 12 groups, with 8 aspherical elements,

4 advanced aspherical (AA) lenses to limit chromatic aberrations (CA), and 2 ED elements

to limit CA at 200mm.

The lens can also focus in 0.03 seconds which is currenty the World's fastest AF performance,

using Phase detection AF, and Direct Drive SSM.

Optical Steady Shot Image Stabilisation will help you keep shots shake-free, when shooting

in low-light or when using the optical zoom.

Inside the camera, you'll find a 20.1 MP 1.0-type (1inch) stacked Exmor RS BSI CMOS image sensor,

with DRAM chip and an upgraded BIONZ X image processing system with a front-end LSI that

maximises processing speed and optimises image quality, inherited from the Sony Alpha 9.

There's also a Fast Hybrid AF system with 315-point phase-detection AF points built-in.

The camera can shoot at 24fps AF/AE which should mean you don't miss any action.

Video fans will be happy to hear that the Cyber-shot RX100 VI shoots 4K video, in fact,

it can capture 4K HDR (HLG) video and it offers a 960/1000fps high-speed shooting recorded,

although at a reduced resolution.

4K video is recorded with full pixel readout and no pixel binning for sharper video quality.

Stereo microphones are built-in, and the camera supports S-LOG 3 and S-Gamut 3

A first for the Cyber-shot range, the RX100 VI features a touchscreen as well as a touch

shutter that can be activated by tapping the back LCD screen.

The screen can also be rotated 180 degrees upward or 90 degrees downward.

Other interesting features include a zoom lever with customisable zoom speeds and a

one-push electronic viewfinder (EVF).

The EVF has a high resolution of 2.359m dots, and there is adjustable dioptre correction.

The biggest demand from users of the RX100 range is improved battery life and with the

RX100 V offering just 220 shots (previous models offered more), Sony say they have been

listening to users and with the RX100 VI, have extended the battery life to 240 shots

or even 310 shots when using the Monitor Auto OFF function.

As for size and weight, the RX100 VI is the same width/height as the previous RX100 and

weighs just over 300g (with battery and memory card) so it definitely won't weigh you down.

It also fits well in the hand and is comfortable in use.

Sony say the RX100 VI offers excellent image quality as well as improved colours and textures,

particularly for skin, something we'll be putting to the test as we capture images with

the camera.
