Gimbal Comparison: DJI Ronin S vs. Zhiyun Crane 2 - Duration: 9:40.

All right, this is JP Morgan then this is Kenneth Merrill and we have with us today

Lesl Gonzales is here to help us compare these two gimbals one with another, one with another?

We've got the Zhiyun 2 not the Zhiyun V2 , but the Zhiyun 2

and we're comparing it with the DJI Ronin s

I've been really curious about these two gimbals which one's better which one's smoother which one's easier to set up

We're gonna start answering all those questions. What else do we want to know? I

Think the biggest thing for me is like how flexible is a gimbal how quick is it to use in different circumstances?

And what kind of things can you do with it? I know the Ronin s boasts like a couple of cool features like the

360 degree roll and stuff that I can only see myself using maybe once my entire life

But we're gonna try it out we have to do that we do

So borrowlenses check them out. So let's talk about some of the tests. We're gonna do here today. First up

We're gonna use the same operator Ken. It's gonna operate so you're not dealing with the operator error

You see the same operator doing each shot with the different cranes and that way you have it's a much better

comparison of what each of them can do the first thing we want to test is we want to do kind of a

Medium pace jog. Well, that's yeah, that's that's the most difficult because you're running with these things

Yeah, it's hard to walk really smooth because you're moving fast and we're using these legacy 5d canon cameras

Yes, that's a 70 mark too. But that's right. Anyways, they're heavier

So the motors are gonna have to work harder to keep it stabilized. So we'll see which one does the best with the run

This running shot is

Really good considering how bouncy I wasn't how happy that camera is absolutely. I mean, it's very impressive

You can see a little bit of the breathe in it just a bit, but you know what?

There's not enough unless you're a camera person. You're not you're not gonna be focused on it

You're looking at her you're looking at what's going on right off the bat with the Z and crane?

I notice a lot more jitter. You see a little bounce in the corners of the frame for sure and there is no auto

calibration with the camera as weight on it that we could figure out at least both these Gamble's would be a little more comfortable with

An a7 r3 or in a 73 something that's just a little lighter and easier to run

So there you have it it's Atlanta's face up

Let's see if the camera is still recording it is still recording

It's looking good this thing's been talked about eight of ten times now in this case this cameras doing great

So they have it it still survived. Keep those cameras rollin. Keep on clickin

We also want to do a low mode an underslung mode. Both of these can do that. I found though

I'm finding that the Ronin underslung mode makes a lot more sense. It's easier to get into in control, but we'll see how it looks

The underslung mode on the Ronin is super easy. I loved it so easy to get into

again

This is the Ronin. Well, I'm feeling a little bit of bounce in that though

It was harder to control it underslung like this

And yeah, it is it's not quite as stabilized the Zeon crane to shoot underslung

It was just so it was very convoluted to get into it

I felt like I didn't have nearly as much control because the joystick is needs easy to use and there's tons of bounce on it

Or there's a ton of bounce on yeah. Yeah

so this is a tougher move a

Tougher video look to be able do that under slow because it's you're bouncing up and down and pulling that thing up

But well, that's really bouncy. Yeah, I think the Ronin wins again on that round. Yeah

So the next shot we're gonna do is that kind of under slung up into her face

Which is a really nice thing you can do with this

Which really is an advantage for a gimbal but especially these because you have that ability to come up

And to go up into her face which looks really nice. Yeah. It's like a crane moves

You can't even get that with like a professional

Steadicam now because the way it's built the gimbal is very unique and being able to do those dramatic

like enjoyable

I loved how easy it was to do this with the Ronin just the way that you use the trigger

You sound annoyed a fan. Was that sort, you know?

Well, it was just so easy to use

whereas

The JIP it wasn't terrible. It wasn't hard on the Xion crane. It took a little more fun angling

The joystick doesn't work in the same way. You can't make those fine tuning adjustments on the fly that you can with a Ronin

Joystick, but once you get it working, it's fine

The classic for me is the walking around somebody, you know just that I think that looks cool. I love that shot

Yeah, so we have to do that shadows like that one

Love this shot the 360

You know, I just think it's so fun like you're coming up on someone you kind of roll around them

Even if you don't even use the whole shot, it's just a fun. Look. Yeah, super man. This Ronin is so smooth

That's just really pretty. Yeah, really pretty shot again. The Xion creme. You have a little bit of that bounce

It's not as bad because I'm not sprinting but overall just a little less. Ooh, it was a little more jittery. Yeah, it really does

and finally

we want to try out the 360 degree flip on the Ronin s

Mable try the 180 makes a little more sense to me do the 360 go all the way around. Let's look at what the heck

I'm interested see this one has a really crazy ability to do the 360 degree. It's kind of fun and

Why would you not use that in every video?

Every single one, what do you think? Wow, that's pretty obvious

It just seems like the Ronin is kind of hands down

Smoother a downside you're working with a heavier gimbal and that's probably one of the reasons it's smoother - mmm

You've got more weight that you're working with there, you know, which just keeps it a little more balanced, you know

You're not bouncing up and down as much but but that's the downside but on the upside

It's just really a smooth and easy easy to set up

I mean I balanced it in just a couple of minutes was not hard to set up

well

so the one thing you said you really did like about the Zen crane was the fact that you could just grab the camera and

Position it to look where you want it to lay forgot

Yeah

that is I

Really do like that feature of the Z and crane just being able to grab the camera and point it up or point it down

I find that that tilt adjustment to start your shot as the one I'm always making

Well, it's pretty hard to not say that the Ronin kind of came out the winner here

Yeah, not on top on this as of this today

I have a hard time saying that you know, the Roman is that's the best one to purchase are there

Yeah, I've definitely got for it. All right

So there's a look at the Zen crane and the Ronin s which was I thought they'd be a lot more head in head

Yeah, you said you remember? Oh, they're all gonna be both I said they're both gonna be the same

I don't think there'd be a difference at all

There are some differences in these cranes and it's good for you to do a little research and see the one that's gonna work best

for you, I'm definitely a fan of the Ronin after this test and

Unlearning God: How Unbelieving Helped Me Believe - Duration: 5:34.

It seems to me that when I think of people who are spiritually well and happy–and here

I'm positing that happiness ought to be the goal of religion, not only our happiness

but the happiness and well-being of others–people who are spiritually well and happy have all

gone through a process of unlearning some of the first things they were taught about

God.

My name is Phil Gulley.

I live in Danville, about 20 miles west of Indianapolis.

I'm the pastor of Fairfield Friends Meeting in Camby, IN which is just south of the Indianapolis

International Airport, and I serve as the pastor there.

I also write books.

First was the belief that there was a one true church, that a human institution had

somehow become the only legitimate community in which folks could gather and worship and

learn and grow together.

So I had to unlearn that, that there was a "true church."

And the other thing that I had to unlearn was what I learned and were called the "omni"s.

That is–God is omnipotent, God is omniscient, God is omnipowerful (all-powerful), which

lasted for a long time, until I grew old enough to start having bad things happen to people

I loved.

These were people of faith, wonderful people.

It became impossible for me to sustain the belief that God was both all-loving and all-powerful

and all-knowing.

I just could not continue in that belief.

Once I released that, I liked God a lot more.

Before I began unlearning the first things I was taught about God, I would have moments

in my life where I was very angry at God because the world seemed to me to be a very unfair

place.

And it is unfair.

But I had convinced myself that the reason for that was because of God's failure to

act.

When you see evil and when you believe that is a consequence of God's failure to act,

it is very difficult to sustain any kind of relationship with God, because you just have

this spiritual resentment.

When you no longer have the need to say everything in this life happens because of God, or doesn't

happen because of God, then you are free to have a much healthier relationship, not unlike

parents and children.

Children, when they're young, think their parents are so powerful that they can do anything,

which is a good belief to have when you're young and insecure and need so much.

But if an adult child has that opinion of their parents, wouldn't we say that they

have failed to grow?

And yet so many adult Christians persist with this belief that God can do anything and that

everything that happens is for a reason and that God knows the reason and God has caused

this thing to happen.

I think that is a patently unhealthy view of the power and personality of God.

It's hard to like a God who is all loving and all powerful and then doesn't do something

when innocent people suffer.

But when you let go of that burden and you no longer have the need to have God be all-powerful

or all-knowing, it really liberates your theology.

I had the opportunity to test other boards during some shop visits

and I have to admit that this one is quite light compared to the other ones

as you can see, the design is really clean, no apparent cables

the board is made of carbon fiber

both engines are in the back wheels

here's the little plug for the charger

which is waterproof as you can see

under the griptape you got the battery and the whole system

and it is waterproof as well. You can skate that thing in the rain, there's no risk

I have watched a few reviews of that product on youtube

and it really made me want to test this product

it is really fast, especially on a skate so I'm going to be careful

I'm curious to test the brakes as well

when you use them, it reloads the battery a little bit

but what's gonna be interesting for me to see is how good they brake

I haven't stepped on the skate for a long time

Why Do People Join Cults? - Duration: 4:47.

When you hear the word cult, you might think of a dark chamber with a bunch of robed people

chanting because of weird, sinister beliefs.

Or tragedies like the over 900 people who committed mass suicide in 1978 because they were instructed to by Reverend Jim Jones.

It's easy to wonder who would ever join a cult, and assume there's something wrong with those people.

But cults come in many forms, and are more common than you might think.

And most of the time, the people who join are just like you and me.

Defining cults is tricky, even for researchers.

They pretty much agree that cults involve extreme devotion to some idea, thing, or person.

But some researchers emphasize a religious element, calling them a New Religious Movement.

Others focus on manipulative persuasion tactics.

And some highlight destructive groups that seek to control and isolate people,

as opposed to groups that might share some cult-like qualities but aren't harmful or could even be beneficial.

The reality is, it's sometimes hard to give a clear-cut answer as to whether a group is a cult.

But psychologists are still trying to figure out who joins cults and why.

Most studies involve recruiting former cult members from all over the world to ask them what their experiences were like.

It's hard to interview current cult members or people before they join.

So, while researchers have learned many things from these people who left, there's still a lot we don't know.

But what we do know is a bit surprising.

For instance, in one study from 2007 at the Autonomous University of Madrid, researchers

interviewed 101 former cult members and found that they're just normal people.

Some said that they joined cults because they were dissatisfied with their life, or were

looking for self-development or spiritual growth, which are totally normal psychological phenomena.

Everyone usually wants to belong to a group of people that cares about them,

and might look for answers to big picture questions, work to improve themselves, or seek spiritual enlightenment.

Sometimes, people just find those things in cults.

And, even though all this research is far from conclusive, there might be factors that put us more at risk of joining one.

Who you're around could matter.

For instance, if your family or friends are already part of a cult, your chance of joining is greater.

Same with having a dysfunctional family that's not very supportive or even abusive.

But family can also be a source of protection if you do join.

Having a supportive family that isn't judgmental and critical can help you leave.

Some personal qualities might also matter, like being more spiritual or religious,

or being curious about other people's views.

People who are having a difficult time in their life, dealing with stress, or having

problems managing emotions or daily life pressures, are also at a greater risk.

All this makes it sound like everyone is at risk, which… we kind of are.

But also in that 2007 study, the former cult members rated manipulation as the most important factor in joining.

People usually thought they were joining a normal, healthy community, because of various persuasion techniques and lies.

This manipulation is often a long, gradual process, taking months or years to change your attitudes so that you'll commit.

The leaders are typically very charismatic and confident.

They do things to make you like them and their group, which is called ingratiation.

Sometimes they'll give small gifts or do favors.

Thanks to reciprocity, it makes us want to give something back.

Then, to get you to stick around, they use techniques like fear, humiliation, or shutting down any dissent or questions.

And they often isolate you, restricting your independence, like if and where you work, and whom you're allowed to talk to.

When everyone around you seems to believe in the group's mission, and any voices that

say otherwise are quickly shut down, it's hard to question what's going on.

And if your old life is gone and you have no job, friends, or family to return to, it's a lot harder to leave.

But it is possible.

Once out, people often deal with many mental health problems because of the trauma and

abuse they might have experienced, developing things like PTSD and other issues.

The good news is that research is being done to understand how to better help people leave

cults, return to regular society, and live a healthy life.

A lot of therapeutic techniques are involved, from focusing on basic mental health to unpacking

why they joined a cult in the first place and unlearning any harmful beliefs the cult gave them.

And the other good news is that psychologists do know a thing or two about how to resist persuasion.

For instance, there's forewarning: If you know that someone's going to try to convince

you to do something or buy something, you tend to evaluate them and their message more

negatively, so you're less persuaded.

But, according to a 2009 study by a researcher at Opole University in Poland, this doesn't

work equally well on all kinds of messages.

Forewarning helps us resist persuasion more if the cult is focusing on your personal life.

Because when we think about ourselves and our personal values, we're more protective.

But if the persuasion is focused on bigger philosophical things, like why the answer

to life, the universe, and everything could be 42, the warning doesn't have as much impact.

So it's normal to want to belong, figure out who you are, and hang out with cool people.

But not every group has your best interests in mind… so just be careful.

And there are plenty of awesome communities out there, too.

When a great cineast decides to make a film , he also thinks of the choice of music.

Generaly he will have a team which is responsable of collecting, analysing, criticizing and

selecting or choosing from several hundreads of thousands of submitted musical propositions.

Why in your opinion do they do that  ?

It's because the music is an important support.

Music helps to carry the image.

Music has the power of amplifying the image and emotions found in your scenario and dialogue.

It's that simple.

Certainly if you're gonna choose music on the internet because you don't have the necessary

million dollar budget for your video, music makers who make their music available for

little or no cost will interest you.

Because who doesn't love to have things for free  ?

But because you are serious about what you do, your approach is different,

you want to be distinct from the others

so you will do research in musical libraries to obtain just

the right material needed ( action, humour, drama...).

You who produce videos, imagine as a video producer, you have the ideal music for your

intended production which fits exactly your personality and caracteristic traits, your

message and brand image.

Won't that be like wearing a well tailored costume  ? You would feel hyped.

Hello and welcome back to my channel. So I have done a few videos about my shopping hack which

is where I talk about how I attempt to protect myself from the manipulation of

adverts and the way that I do that is, as soon as I begin to get an emotional

response from an advert, I think, first of all, what is the emotional response that

I am getting from this advert? And second of all, how is it doing it? I pick it apart

and I think - you know marketing is incredibly clever - what tricks are they

employing to make you feel the way this advert is making me feel. This means that

instead of the message just washing over me and me just believing whatever it is that

I'm told by I give myself a little bit of distance from younger and enough

space for me to think what do I actually think. Is this a trick?

Is this genuine? What's going on here? And that means that the message of the advert is

generally less effective. So the two questions I'll ask myself is what am I

feeling and how is it making me feel this and usually the way that adverts

do this is by drawing upon some sort of feeling of inadequacy so they'll

usually show beautiful, popular, rich people promoting their products because

they kind of go with the assumption that you might be feeling somewhat inadequate

in your beauty, popularity or richness just as a general human being. And then

they want you to draw some sort of association that if you buy that product

you will be beautiful, popular or rich sort of by default which

obviously isn't how it works - we're talking very subconscious, here, but that

is how marketing is so successful. People usually feel inadequate and if you can

draw upon that to sell your products, you're gonna do well. Now I feel like

I've slagged marketing off a lot but I have so much respect for it. I think it is a

genuine art form. I think in order to be good at marketing, you have to be so so

clever and you have to know so much about psychology and the way that the

human mind works and I think it's a fascinating topic but also, you know,

I don't like being told what to do so stop telling me what to do.

So the thing I want to talk about is a few days ago I was in

a shop and I got an emotional response from a product and this doesn't usually

happen so I asked myself the same questions what am I feeling why am I

feeling it. The product in question was a notebook. Now, I usually do have a bit of

a weakness for notebooks. I think a lot of people who want to be

organised or who associate notebooks with being organised have that same kind of...

There's just something exciting and magical about a new notebook that...

I don't know what it is but they're great. But these weren't any ordinary

notebooks; these were self-aware notebooks; these were notebooks that knew

how I felt about notebooks and were playing on it. They were taking advantage

of the fact that when I see a notebook I think a brand new start; I think I can

start my new project now that I have this notebook. All of those ridiculous and

incorrect thoughts I have regarding your books - and I'm very aware that they're

ridiculous and incorrect - this knew. This note book knew. So this one says, 'big

ideas have small beginnings' which is not untrue, you know, that's kind of how

growth works. So the problem that I have with this is that we are quite

used to companies cashing in on our insecurities about the way we look, about

our youth, about our status; this is very commonplace now but here

we have a product that is trying to cash in on our aspirations and are desire

to live a better life and I just don't like that. It took me so so long - it took

me so many years to understand that the reason that I really liked note books

and that I really like stationery is because I wanted to be someone who had

projects on the go. I wanted to be someone who was organised and I thought

that I could somehow bypass that. If I bought the products that I associated

being organised, it would somehow make me organised and that isn't how it

works and that is so true of so many things that I bought. I felt like I

could bypass the hard work by making a purchase but you cannot. There is no

substitute for hard work at all. Buying a planner does not make you more

organised and buying new trainers does not make you fitter but this is something

that we've been told again and again and again in adverts - that if we make that

purchase then we buy with it this whole new life but that's just not the case

and it takes learning that lesson to finally realise that it's all on you, you

know, you need to put the time in and there is no substitution for it and

also I'm not saying don't buy a new notebook - there's

nothing wrong with buying a new notebook if you need a new notebook but

don't be fooled into thinking that you're getting anything more then just

paper when you buy a notebook that's that's all it is.

This one says, 'your only limit is you' which is a rather reductive and unfair

thing to say but I'm assuming that they are intending for this to be

inspiring so we're just gonna remember that at the moment. Another problem I

have a companies cashing in on what is essentially just a dissatisfied

generation is that if the user does not use it as they intended to then that

product is just gonna sit there mocking them; mocking them with these

inspiring slogans. They're just gonna be sitting around the house gathering dust

and reminding them of that time where they thought that they were gonna

achieve something or, you know, start a new project. And you can feel free to

tell me that I'm reading too much into this but I know that I'm not. I know our

subconscious is so susceptible to any feelings of inadequacy - any feelings of

anxiety - any sort of shortcoming. We are so primed to be aware

of how we don't measure up as a society, I guess. And I and I'm someone

whose benefitted firsthand from getting rid of all of those things so I know the

difference that it can make. Things affect us subconsciously all the time - we

don't even have to have noticed it's there and and we will be affected by it.

This is an interesting one - this is a folder that says, ;it's a beautiful thing to

start' and it is. Every single day is. It's a very inspiring thought; it's very

inspiring folder but this is something that I've been learning so the good

feelings that we get from a rush of motivation and inspiration and that

feeling of like, "Oh, my god! I'm going to achieve this, I'm going to do

this and everything's gonna be great!" That intense burst is actually a

burst of dopamine and dopamine performs its tasks before we obtain rewards

meaning that it's real job is to encourage us to act either to achieve something good

or to avoid something bad that is something that I read in an article: a

scientific article so you know science and that. But essentially what it means

is that they are drugging us by offering us this small token of

motivation, we feel this dopamine purged and we get inspired to

take action and to do something about it and if drugging someone to buy something

isn't manipulation then I honestly don't know what is. So here we have

'live more worry less' let which is a fine concept but again it's kind of targeted

towards people who might be worried or essentially just vulnerable; maybe

someone's having we have a crap time. They see this notebook and they think, y'know what, yes.

I am gonna live more and worry less. They buy it, they're two pounds down,

they think that they're gonna change their lives and what you know the lives

are exactly the same because that's not how life works. It's not fair. It's taking

advantage. Then we've got 'just chill', we've got, 'live every moment', 'hashtag

positive vibes' . This is all the same issue. It's taking advantage of people

who want to improve their lives but haven't quite figured it out yet and who

think that maybe by spending this two-pound you know it's only two pound

on a book on some stationery that they are going to get closer to their goal.

If you need a new notebook that is completely fine I am NOT saying don't

buy new notebooks by you know maybe just get a plain notebook that won't have a

judgmental slogan on it. There is no shortcut to hard work. It takes time,

it takes perseverance and consistency; and if any advent of anyone or any

product tries to convince you otherwise then you are being lied to. This turned into a bit of

a rant and I apologise but I sound like I hate notebooks - I don't hate

notebooks - if anything I love notebooks - but I hate people being taken

advantage of and I really feel that this whole new branding thing is exactly that.

I think it's a trick. I think it fools people into thinking

that they've been given some sort of key to unlock their future with and it ends

up just being a notepad or and just being a pair of trainers or it ends up just being a dress.

You know, there's so many things that are so important to being a happy human

being that you cannot buy. But adverts work by trying to convince you that you

can't so please try and remember that if ever you find yourself getting an

emotional response from an advert or from a product just question it and pick

it apart. Try and work out what you're feeling,

why are you feeling that way. Ss it genuine? Sometimes we might get a genuine

feeling and that's totally fine. There's nothing wrong with

seeing something incredibly beautiful that you love and thinking, you know, I

think I would love to have this in my home. That's totally fine but it has to

be sort of an authentic genuine connection.

It can't be you being manipulated by whoever's created the product. I hope
