Youtube daily report Sep 28 2018

Hi, my name is Dorota Freitag. I'm from Kreatywnie.com.

Today I have for you chalk paint project on metal can.

I start the project with cleaning the metal.

It is important to remove all the stickers.

I also polished up the top of the can to open and close it easier.

I am using the chalk paint directly on the can. No primer.

The firs layer looks always not attractive. But believe me it is better than primer.

I tried to open and close the can - the paint is very hard and stable.

The second layer is covering.

I use the black color to make some "tacks".

It is hard to find the perfect mix of water and black paint. I am using a very fine brush.

To make the project more vintage I am blending some black paint on edges.

The paint is only on the top of the brush. The brush is wet. I makes the line very softly.

If there are any mistakes I am using the wet wipe.

I am using the mirror print and transfer medium of La Pajarita.

The link to the movie about how to make the picture as mirror print you will find below.

I am covering the print and the can with transfer medium.

It is a test of the medium - also for me.

I am using the sponge brush.

Stick the print and rub a little bit to remove all air bubbles. You can also use a roller.

I have to let it dry. I am using the hair dryer like during the workshop.

Now I am using water to make the paper soft and remove it.

I am rubbing the paper to remove it completely.

The good surprise is that there are no visible edges of the print ...

The bad surprise is that the print is sometimes removed like edges. It means that the medium is soft and you have to be very careful, use more layers or dry longer.

It is ok, I have to give the medium the second chance.

Now I am using the ultramat varnish.

This is perfect! The varnish is the discovery for me!

It is hard, not yellowing, perfectly mat!

At the and I am using the wax - but only for visual effect. I just like the wax :)

The summary for my test is, that the transfer is only OK, but the varnish is perfect! :)

Share the movie if you like it, leave some comment, thank you for your attention! See you next time!

Sheryl Sandberg Shares Why She Embraces Embarrassment at Work - Duration: 2:04.

- [Narrator] If you want innovation,

you have to encourage experimentation.

And to really give your employees

the freedom to experiment,

you have to get comfortable with embarrassment.

I asked Sheryl Sandberg, Facebook's Chief Operating Officer

to tell the story of a legendary embarrassment

that's now part of company lore.

- Ta da! - So we have a

kind of very famous story at Facebook

about a young summer intern named Ben

who wanted to help figure out

how we could not take the site down

and to understand how we could recover from bugs triggered.

So he triggered the bug, and took the site down

for like 30 minutes.

And you know in our industry that is crazy.

And he got hired full time. - Welcome aboard!

- And they started calling what he did "Ben testing".

So we put things in place so that

you wouldn't take the site down,

but it was the celebration of, that was a good idea,

not well-executed, but we still want to do those tests.

- [Mascot] Here comes something special!

- [Employee] We had the whole system down.

We had the window that we knew to keep unlocked.

We knew how to keep the door propped open.

That's Jeff Staple, a legendary streetware designer.

He printed his first t-shirts

by breaking into a school lab.

- [Jeff] We would just be running t-shirts

'til three, four o'clock in the morning,

and it was so much fun.

- [Employee] Jeff turned this underground operation

into a global company, but it took 20 years.

- [Jeff] The reason why it took so long

for me to get to where I am today

is because I learned through trial by fire.

- [Employee] Jeff shares what he's learned

by teaching on Skillshare, an online learning community

with thousands of creative tech and business classes.

- [Jeff] I love the idea of being able

to take the 20 years of learning that I had

and pass it on to someone so that it only

takes them half the time now.

It's really, really dope to see how that's possible

with Skillshare.

- [Employee] You can learn from Jeff

and other thought leaders right now.

Just go to skillshare.com/masters.

Your first two months are free.

Mike Pompeo Reveals The Truth About Yemen | Yemen 13 | MIC 17 - Duration: 5:36.

Hey there.

Today I am going to be dealing with a single news story, which I don't normally do.

But it is so important, and it says so much about the stuff that this channel covers that

I think it's worth unpacking this in depth.

Last week the Wall Street Journal revealed that Secretary of State Mike Pompeo overruled

almost everybody at the state department to keep the war in Yemen going.

He chose to continue this slaughter to preserve a measly 2 billion dollars of arms sales.

This story reveals the sad truth about US policy in Yemen, and US foreign policy more

generally.

Let's start this sad story with a bit of good news.

In August the outrageously expensive John S. McCain 2019 National Defense Authorization

Act became law.

As I have talked about before, opposition to the US Saudi war on Yemen is increasing

in Congress.

All the serious attempts to stop the war were kept out of the 2019 NDAA, but the war hawks

couldn't keep Yemen out completely.

As of last month US refueling of Saudi and UAE planes is contingent on the State department

certifying that those countries are making an effort to murder fewer civilians.

This is not enough.

But it is something.

The defense department has also been required to do a review, but hopes were much higher

for the diplomats at the state department.

The decision on certification was eagerly awaited.

We were all disappointed.

On September 10th Mike Pompeo, the head of the State department, certified that Saudi

Arabia and the UAE were making good faith efforts to stop the war, provide humanitarian

aid, and correct the policies that have led to the slaughter of of over 16,000 civilians.

The certification was accompanied by a standard memo citing the evils of Iran that could have

been produced by the Saudi government.

This was terribly disappointing.

Last week we learned that we weren't the only ones who were disappointed.

The Wall Street Journal attained a memo that made it clear that all of the State Department's

experts thought Pompeo should not certify.

They knew that Saudi Arabia and the UAE were doing none of the things that US Law required

them to investigate.

The slaughter continues, and the US government is very, very complicit.

But Pompeo was more interested in selling another 2 billion dollars of missiles, so

he certified anyway, quite probably breaking the law.

Why?

At this point I think it's worth looking into who exactly Secretary of State Mike Pompeo

is.

He came to national prominence when he was elected as a tea party Republican from Kansas

in 2010.

Though he endorsed Marco Rubio in 2016, he quickly reconciled himself to Trump World

and he was rewarded, first as head of the CIA, then as head of the State Department.

So he looks like a good anti-establishment type of guy right?

Tea party guy from Kansas and a born-again Trumpkin?

Unfortunately it's all bullshit.

Mike Pompeo is the elite personified.

He was born in hyper wealthy Orange County California.

He attended West Point and Harvard Law School, two of the world's most elite institutions.

After law school he worked at one of the most prestigious law firms in the country.

In 1998 he moved to Kansas with some West Point buddies to set up a Defense Contractor.

His financial disclosure forms make him one of the poorest members of the Trump Administration,

but I find that hard to believe, considering the fact that he sold his company to the massive

private equity firm Highland Capital Management in 2007.

My guess is that his wife or his son is probably a lot richer.

His entire resume is filled with links to the Koch brothers and defense contractors

like Lockheed Martin and Raytheon.

Mike Pompeo is the Military Industrial Complex.

This guy isn't anti establishment.

He is the establishment.

And when he had the chance to do the right thing the decent thing, and even the legal

thing on Yemen, of course he didn't do it.

His whole career made this inevitable. The fact that this guy is one of the most trusted,

powerful and well rewarded members of the Trump administration makes it very clear that

Trump doesn't represent anything new.

US foreign policy is just as owned by the Military Industrial Complex as it always has

been.

This is profoundly sad.

But we should be grateful to the Wall Street Journal for running this story and making

the Truth about Yemen and the man who runs US Foreign Policy so painfully clear.

Staff hail Edna Molewa as a fearless fighter against wildlife crime

Staff hail Edna Molewa as a fearless fighter against wildlife crime.

Late environmental affairs minister Edna Molewa has been hailed as a fearless leader who led the fight against wildlife crimes from the front.

Staff at the department of environmental affairs gathered at the Christian Revival Church in Silverlakes in the east of Pretoria on Thursday to bid farewell to Molewa.

CEO of SanParks Fundisile Mketheni lauded her for her anti-rhino poaching efforts and commitment to the environment.

"She was a crusader against wildlife crime‚ she hated it.

She was concerned about the killing of rhinos‚ you would even think she was a minister from the security cluster because she always wanted to work with them to fight this‚" he said.

But Molewa was also concerned about the safety and welfare of rangers who worked in the trenches to protect South African wildlife.

"We lost a hard worker‚ a mother.

She celebrated our achievements‚ we will continue with our mandate‚ we will protect and preserve the inheritance of the people of South Africa‚" he added.

Chairperson of the board of the South African Weather ServiceNana Magomola‚ praised the late minister for believing in women leaders.

"It's exhibited by the many women she has appointed.

Anyone of us who worked with her was empowered‚ it is for us to now pick up the baton.

"[She] epitomised authentic leadership‚ she was genuine‚ self-aware‚ mission-driven and results-driven.

We can honour her memory by emulating the person she was‚" she said.

Molewa was due to be laid to rest next week after she died at a Pretoria hospital on Saturday.

The deputy director general of the department‚ Mark Gordon‚ said Molewa would be remembered for her "commitment and dedication to the rights of the poor".

In a moving tribute‚ Gordon spoke of Molewa's dedication‚ passion and tireless efforts over the years and what a great leader and champion she was.

"I had seen her commitment and dedication to the rights of the poor‚ the downtrodden of society.

"She took the plight of waste collectors and recyclers to forge a 'recycling economy' for job creation‚" he said.

Gordon said Molewa was passionate about change to people's lives and restoring their dignity.

"I remember seeing her compassion when she used to drive around seeing them [recyclers] pushing their trolleys during winter mornings.

She would say: 'Mark we need to do something about this'.".

Shock Aaron Ramsey news has Arsenal fans saying the same thing about Paul Pogba and Man United - Duration: 2:28.

Aaron Ramsey looks to be heading for the Arsenal exit door after contract talks with the club dramatically broke down

The Wales international, who moved to north London from Cardiff in 2008, is out of contract in the summer and negotiations have been going on for months over a potential new long-term deal

As little as two weeks ago, both parties thought an agreement was close, but in a shock development, Arsenal have now abruptly pulled the plug on further talks and are open to allowing Ramsey to leave in January for a reduced fee, rather than on a free transfer next summer

Several clubs are believed to be keeping tabs on Ramsey's situation, including Manchester United - and some Arsenal fans have come up with a plan which will see the Gunners doing business with United once again, just as they did last January when Alexis Sanchez and Henrikh Mkhitaryan traded places in a high profile swap deal

But this time it's Paul Pogba who some Arsenal fans are keen to land in a deal which would see Ramsey go the other way

Fanciful? Perhaps, but the way things are going between Pogba as Jose Mourinho right now, you never know what could happen with the France international

Here's a look at what's being said on social media. @Official_JC95: Well if that's the case then let's do a Alexis-Mkhi 2.0

Ramsey-Pogba swap deal. @MrJackArsenal: Ramsey isn't signing a new deal. Pogba wants out seen weirder things happen

@RidarKh: So Ramsey isn't signing a new deal and Pogba wants out of United. cheeky swap deal plus cash? @goodridgeafc: Would take pogba at arsenal if Ramsey went the other way I'd happily drive Ramsey myself! Also I'd pay cash plus Ramsey for pogba well worth it!

Shapiro: I Thought Kavanaugh Was Finished, But After Testimony He's "Very Much Alive" - Duration: 4:40.

Conservative author and commentator Ben Shapiro, like many of the Republican members of the

Senate Judiciary Committee, has gone out of his way to remain open-minded and considerate

as to the story of sexual assault put forward by a liberal California professor named Christine

Blasey Ford.

Ford has alleged that Supreme Court nominee Brett Kavanaugh attempted to grope and undress

her while drunk at a party in 1982 when both were high school students.

As the plausible but uncorroborated allegation put forward by Ford was joined in recent days

by additional allegations that were far less plausible and equally uncorroborated, intense

pressure from Democrats and the liberal media was mounting against Kavanaugh that had some

on the right, including Shapiro, thinking the judge's nomination was at risk.

But everything changed for Shapiro during the committee hearing on Thursday where both

Ford and Kavanaugh spoke under oath about the allegation, as per a piece Shapiro published

with The Daily Wire.

Shapiro noted that, early on in the day, while Ford was delivering her emotional testimony,

he was concerned Kavanaugh's nomination was "on the ropes" — as the judge was

essentially being asked to disprove a negative and respond to emotions, not facts.

And then the afternoon session began and Kavanaugh "changed the game" by coming out swinging

and firing with both barrels on the Senate Democrats and liberal media — who've both

shamelessly perpetuated and promoted the unsubstantiated allegations against him in an overtly transparent

attempt to stall and derail his nomination to the Supreme Court.

Shapiro wrote, "Kavanaugh unleashed on Senate Democrats and their media enablers, defending

his innocence and his character.

He cited evidence, background, and character in his defense — and he laid bare the political

gamesmanship of the Democrats."

He noted that Kavanaugh displayed an "appropriate" level of "justified and righteous anger"

against those who'd been smearing his name and reputation over the past two weeks, noting

how they'd called him a "liar," "rapist" and even "evil," all without a shred of

evidence to back up such slanderous besmirchment of his heretofore stellar and unblemished

record.

Here is just a taste of the absolute fire and fury that Kavanaugh delivered as part

of his opening statement:

But, of course, many Democrats and media figures viewed Kavanaugh's righteous anger in defending

his name as "inappropriate" and even "disqualifying" for the Supreme Court, which Shapiro duly

noted by posting several tweets from Democrat politicians and members of the liberal media.

California Rep. Ted Lieu said of Kavanaugh's anger in a tweet, "Imagine what he's like

when he gets inebriated," and Hawaii Sen. Brian Schatz tweeted, "It is hard to imagine

this person being objective and fair on the Supreme Court."

We won't bore you with the idiotic anti-Kavanaugh musings on social media by "alleged journalists"

and opinionated reporters who've made little or no effort to hide their liberal bias.

Suffice it to say, they were unimpressed with Kavanaugh's vehement defense of his name,

his reputation — and perhaps most importantly — his family, who've been truly victimized

in this disgusting charade of a confirmation process.

"This is absurd nonsense.

A wronged man would be angry.

Anything less would not comport with Kavanaugh's account," wrote Shapiro of the media reactions.

"Kavanaugh was on the verge of tears nearly every time he mentioned his family — as

he should be.

And by wearing his heart on his sleeve, Kavanaugh may have just saved not just his nomination,

but his reputation," Shapiro concluded.

Indeed, arguably one of the most compelling moments of the day — from either portion

of the hearing — was when Kavanaugh choked up and was reduced to tears as he described

how his youngest daughter had included her father's primary accuser — Ford — in

her nightly prayer.

Kavanaugh's nomination to the Supreme Court, once considered in jeopardy as the Democrat's

patently obvious smear job increasingly took a toll, is now "very much alive" and in

fighting spirit.

Barring anything else arising unforeseen, or some moderate Republican senator going

weak in the knees at the last moment, Kavanaugh will almost certainly be confirmed to the

Supreme Court after his fiery defense against these slanderous attacks.

Man Utd news: Jose Mourinho receives Anthony Martial boost despite Brighton loss - Duration: 2:52.

Martial had been expected to leave the Premier League club this summer with the likes of PSG, Juventus and Barcelona believed to have been interested

Martial's agent even insisted over the summer that the Frenchman wanted to leave Manchester United

Over the summer, Martial's representative Philippe Lamboley said: "After thinking about all the factors and possibilities, Anthony wants to leave Manchester United

" But the Sun now claim that Martial has had a change of heart and wants to stay at Old Trafford

That could be a boost to Jose Mourinho though Martial struggled in United's 3-2 defeat at Brighton at the weekend

Indeed, the 22-year-old has failed to impress on a regular occasion under Mourinho despite the consistent support from United fans

The European transfer window remains open until the end of the month, but Martial is reportedly keen to fight for his spot at the Premier League giants

But former England manager Sam Allardyce believes the former Monaco star isn't good enough for Manchester United

"You'd look at Louis van Gaal who brought in Martial and it doesn't matter who the manager is, Martial isn't good enough for Manchester United," Allardyce told beIN Sports

"If you want to be super critical and look at the players he's got. He is not the player they thought they were getting

"There was a chance where you get a very big young talent for £50million. "But we are in his third season and he is no better than when he first came

"He should have progressed. He should be as good as Leroy Sane and people like that

That's not Jose's fault." Martial may get another chance to impress as Manchester United host Tottenham on Monday night (8pm)

While United have suffered an indifferent start, winning one and losing one, Spurs have won their opening two encounters

Germany beats Turkey for right to host Euro 2024 - Duration: 3:22.

Germany beats Turkey for right to host Euro 2024

Germany beats Turkey for right to host Euro 2024.

Germany on Thursday won the race to host the 2024 European Championship as Uefa backed a bid seen as safer than the rival Turkish proposal.

Uefa President Aleksander Ceferin announced the winner following a campaign that saw politics and concerns over human rights in Turkey play a central role.

"I'd like to thank the Uefa Executive for their incredible confidence and I feel the responsibility -- we will do our utmost to live up to expectations," said German Football Association (DFB) president Reinhard Grindel after the announcement.

"We want to put on a huge football festival and show the world how hospitable we are," said ex-Germany captain Philipp Lahm, who will head the organising committee.

Uefa considered that the German bid already had everything in place to host a successful event -- from stadiums to infrastructure and hotels.

European football's governing body has also said it wants to make as much money as possible from the 2024 tournament and Germany was considered the better financial bet.

The win also offers a boost to German football after a disastrous 2018 World Cup, when the country failed to qualify for the last 16 -- after winning the tournament in 2014.

German foreign minister Heiko Maas said the 2024 tournament "will be an opportunity to show what we stand for in Germany: openness to the world and tolerance, freedom and respect.

"Together, we have to make the European Championship a tournament for all Europeans," he added in a statement.

Turkey meanwhile had been desperate to host its first ever major sporting event but its bid was weakened by concerns over its faltering economy, lacking transport network and, perhaps most importantly, human rights.

Turkish President Recep Tayyip Erdogan loomed large over the campaign and Thursday's defeat may be seen in part as a personal rebuke.

His government's unprecedented crackdown, including thousands of arrests, following a failed 2016 coup has raised worldwide concern.

That unease was shared by Uefa, which noted in its evaluation report that the Turkish bid's "lack of action plan in the area of human rights is a matter of concern.".

[ "Iris" ]

Your trembling figure on a distant rainy day.

The continuation of a broken dream that does not need words.

I wanted to stop the flow of time when it started to move forward.

"I will not be back anymore."

Your words were too painful,

and I strive to implore that night.

Do you still remember that wonderful distant day?

We are surrounded by dazzling lights that connected to the cold sky.

Your words were beginning to distort, and I could not hear them.

My heart, which continued to writhe,

carried an eternal oath in time.

Now...

Also your kindness, even your warmth,

in this way, everything moves away.

Even your suffering, besides the unforgettable pain,

disappear through the night ...

I wanted to stop the flow of time when it started to move forward.

Your heart, so endearing, will not return ...

Now...

Also your kindness, even your warmth,

in this way everything moves away.

Even your suffering, besides the unforgettable pain,

disappear through the night ...
