What is your favourite memory of Year 12?

I would pick the first time that I taught you guys English,

having students learning and being really excited-

We love learning

Every day was a magic moment

You can tell you're lying

Probably our cooking session

when we did waffles

and, um,

You created Eiffel Towers and French flags

Most of the class would get here on time but

pretty much every lesson the boys would get here [late]

and their reason would just be 'we're playing basketball'.

Remembering them in Year 7 and

they're finally, um, growing up and

getting to where they want to be.

So many, so many ensemble students

You know,

Solomone, Bradley, Jakob,

Phoenyx, um,

DJ Fizzy

Probably, uh- just walking in the playground

and actually realizing how many Year 12s just lay on the floor,

just wherever you go.

Shoes off, socks on.

In the middle of the sun.

My sports coaching class

alrighty

We're family,

they're my family

Stop it!

Oh my gosh-

Bribing Zane for a whole term to come to class

on time

and I'd give him a box of chocolates.

When they were hungry and every single morning I'd actually have food for them

When Cemo did the splits in class

When I went to camp with Year 12 and we were playing cards until 3 o'clock in the morning

Face masks,

fixing people's haircuts

No sleep

No sleep

I was sitting next to Sarah when we were fishing on the last day

and her phone was in her pocket and

it just fell in between the planks and into the water and she started crying

My favorite memory of camp has to be Mr. Abbas screaming like a little girl

Probably would be my first day here at the school

Oh yeah, oh yeeaah

and ummmm

- The worst day of my life - at the time,

and I think I lost my voice that day

This is his first class guys,

It's embarrassing to talk about

Take a year off before you start uni,

I would have done that if I could go back again.

My advice is not to break your leg

Always begin as you wish to finish

Do what you love, don't do it for the money

Have fun in life, life is too serious

and laugh every day

Follow their hearts to seek something that they enjoy doing

If it's not gonna matter in five years then it doesn't matter

Never lose sight of what is important in life

Keep doing what you love doing and don't stop

Be rebellious but don't break the law

Be committed to planning your future

Always remember, um, your time at Granville South

remember all of the, um, support that you've been provided by the teachers here at the school.

Um,

we all know that life can be challenging, that there will be issues that you have to face

and sometimes they may seem far too difficult for you to deal with but be positive,

stay strong and keep moving forward.

Look for opportunities that might come your way.

Sometimes life doesn't always go the way we plan

but if you are open to opportunities

then your life might take you in a direction that you didn't even think of.

And when those challenges are in front of you just remember,

as a former Granville South Creative and Performing Arts student,

that you will never give up.

today I want to answer a question

is it worth to visit Xela (Quetzaltenango)?

well

when I arrived in Xela I was really

quite overwhelmed by it

quite chaotic...

I arrived quite late

it was grey

there were loads of dogs looking for something to eat

and then I thought: probably I would just stay here 1 night

at the end I spend there 5 days

what's worth it in Xela?

might be the hiking around

you can climb Baul it is not a must do

on the first day

you can organize a hike to the Chicabal Lagoon

how to do it exactly, I am linking the videos below

then on the 2nd day you hike to the Santa Maria volcano

quite a steady steep hike

also, very easy to do it by yourself

and instead of paying 275 quetzales for an organized tour

you pay 4 quetzales in total

because you use the public transportation

then there is active volcano which is

called Santiaguito

which is not that difficult

then you can do Tajumulco volcano

it is the highest volcano peak in Central America

to get there you need to take a three-hour bus

super early in the morning

then on the 3rd day you can go to

Fuentes Georginas

natural thermal baths

When in Xela, make sure

you go to the Indian restaurant in Guatemala

I know, that sounds like a bad joke...but...

the food is... OMG!

If I had only 1 day in Xela, I would probably choose...

I've decided to go for the 3 day hike

from Xela to the Atitlan Lake
