City boss Pep Guardiola wary of 'unstoppable' Liverpool strikeforce
Pep Guardiola has warned that Liverpool's forwards are "almost unstoppable" – but Kevin De Bruyne believes Manchester City can silence Anfield on Wednesday.
Guardiola may have taken City to the brink of being crowned Premier League champions but he is braced for a tough test against the Merseysiders in their Champions League quarter-final.
Mohamed Salah, Roberto Firmino and Sadio Mane head into the first leg of the eagerly anticipated tie having scored 75 goals between them in all competitions this term.
Salah struck his 37th in Saturday's victory at Crystal Palace.
City boss Guardiola said: "Not just him (Salah) – Mane and Firmino, all three, they are almost unstoppable.

The atmosphere could be a significant factor again on Wednesday but midfielder De Bruyne is convinced City can handle it.

"But you saw it against Everton – they have a good crowd – but if you are three goals ahead then it is really difficult for them to get into it.

Liverpools 2-1 win at Crystal Palace highlighted a familiar problem for Jurgen Klopp to consider ahead of Wednesdays clash with Man City.
The Reds fought back from a goal down to secure their 19th win of the Premier League campaign, maintaining their hopes of a second-placed finish come May.
Stepping off the turf at Selhurst Park, however, Klopps side will have swiftly turned their attentions to Europe, with City arriving at Anfield for the Champions League quarter-final first leg in midweek.
Another victory against a lesser side, particularly after the international break, will be a confidence-booster for Liverpool as they prepare for their biggest challenge of the season.
But the way in which Palace exploited the right-hand side of Klopps back line should be a cause for concern.
And setting up the Reds for victory over City as they bid for a place in the semi-finals, plugging the gap at right-back is of paramount importance.
Hodgson Follows Mourinhos Blueprint.
Pitting Klopp against Roy Hodgson on Saturday provided a stark reminder of the progress Liverpool have made as the decade has gone on.
Back in 2010, the Reds were playing some of the most turgid, uninspired football in recent memory, as Hodgsons distinct brand of conservative play prompted a downward spiral at Anfield.
Fortunately his reign lasted just six months and now, three managers later, Klopp is overseeing a major all-round improvement on Merseyside.
However, that Klopp is a significantly more accomplished manager than Hodgson did not guarantee an easy victory in Croydon, as the opening 45 minutes of the weekends win highlighted.
Wearing the same colours as three weeks previous, Liverpool were set against in exactly the same way as in the 2-1 loss away to Man United in mid-March.
Palace opted to pump balls long, with ex-Reds striker Christian Benteke the target, while the pacy Wilfried Zaha peeled off and settle into the space between Joel Matip and Trent Alexander-Arnold.
Zaha, the Eagles best player, took advantage of the inexperienced Alexander-Arnold much in the same way Uniteds Marcus Rashford did in the defeat at Old Trafford.

This provided another victory over a smaller side, but now attentions turn to the most fearsome outfit in the league, standing in their way of a semi-final berth in Europe.
And there remains the possibility that, like Hodgson and Mourinho before him, Pep Guardiola could adopted a similar approach if Liverpools flaws remain.
Is Pep Willing to Go Long?.

City have played with sheer attacking ferocity this term, controlling games with ease and picking apart sides from the bottom to the top at will.
They are one win away from the title, and their effervescent brand of football makes them deserving champions, as Guardiolas famed ideals have set in well in his second campaign with the club.
However, while Guardiolas approach has, historically, seen his sides keep the ball on the ground, creating opportunities with excellent movement and inspired creativity, he is not dogmatic.
There is no guarantee Guardiola will set his side up to go all-out at Anfield, particularly given the way in which they were dismantled in the last league meeting in January.
Instead, it is feasible that the Spaniard instead takes his cues from his managerial inferiors, having noted a clear weakness in Liverpools setup.
There is certainly precedent for Guardiola going long against Klopp, with Bayern Munichs comprehensive 3-0 win over Borussia Dortmund back in 2013 a prominent example.
As Rafael Honigstein assessed for the Guardian at the time, Klopps all-or-nothing strategy appeared one dimensional with Bayern pumping long balls forward.

Time For Clyne?.
The prospect of Alexander-Arnold struggling in the same way he did against United and Palace may be ignorant of the 19-year-olds maturity and ability to adapt.
But in a two-legged knockout clash, the need for stability is salient, and it is certainly worth considering a change at the back.
Nathaniel Clyne made his first appearance in the matchday squad for Saturdays victory, and though he didnt make it onto the field his presence is a considerable boost.
Having missed the entirety of the campaign so far through injury, Clynes return to the fold provides Klopp with his first-choice right-back for the first time since last May.
So far, the 26-year-old only has 180 minutes of U23s football under his belt and, therefore, is short of match fitness, but he does have the qualities required to plug the gap exploited of late.
Clyne is a more naturally defensive right-back, with a better understanding of the role and, crucially, is more suited to operating in central areas than Alexander-Arnold.
It would not be remiss to highlight Clyne as a candidate for the augmented centre-back duty Walker took up for England during the recent international break, such is his quality inside.
Though it would be a gamble, naming Clyne in the starting lineup at Anfield on Wednesday could give Liverpool a better chance of countering a potential long-ball approach from City.
Another option, if Clyne is deemed not fit enough and Klopp holds similar reservations over Alexander-Arnold, is switching to a back three.
Albeit impromptu, deploying a three-man defensive line in the latter stages of Saturdays win, with Dejan Lovren joining Matip and Virgil van Dijk, gave the Reds more stability.
It also gave Liverpool further license to push forward and find the winner, and such margins are hugely important in the Champions League.

North Korea may be constructing a new building inside the perimeter security wall of its
Yongbyon nuclear complex,... near its experimental light water reactor.
According to 38 North,... satellite images from March 20th suggest significant movement
of vehicles and equipment at a nearby construction yard that's directly involved in building
the light water reactor.
The purpose of the new structure is unclear,... but light water reactors can be used to create
materials for nuclear weapons.
As the finding comes at a sensitive time ahead of two historic summits with North Korea,...
this could negatively affect the upcoming talks.

In contrast to the peaceful mood in the peninsula, John Bolton, the incoming U.S. national security

to 'buy time' to develop its nuclear weapons.

The first of two special concerts by South Korean artists visiting Pyongyang wrapped
up.
Among the guests were the regime's leader and his wife.
Kim Jong-un reportedly enjoyed it so much, he suggested holding another one in autumn.

Sunday night, a group of South Korean musicians put on a concert in Pyongyang,... dazzling
an audience that included North Korean leader Kim Jong-un.
Kim was accompanied by a few well-known faces: his wife Ri Sol-ju,... his sister Kim Yo-jong,
who visited South Korea in February for the Winter Olympics,... and Hyon Song-wol who
led the North Korean delegation in talks to set up the show.
It started at around 6:20 PM, North Korea time -- that's 6:50 PM in the South -- and
lasted for over 2 hours.
It was called "Spring is Coming," and featured eleven South Korean artists... including Cho
Yong-pil, Lee Sun-hee, the idol group Red Velvet,... and Seo Hyun of Girls' Generation.
"I hope this concert gives us a chance to truly feel that we are one."
The South Koreans sang to a full house -- 15-hundred seats -- songs representing the fact of the
two Koreas' division.
They ended with two numbers called "Our Hope is Reunification" and "Until We Meet Again."
"When we South Korean artists all sang together, the North Koreans sang along with us.
That made me feel that we are one people.
It was touching, and that's why I teared up."
As he watched,... Kim Jong-un reportedly said...
there should be more cultural and art performances put on by Seoul and Pyongyang.
He also suggested holding another concert in the autumn -- this time in Seoul -- which
would signify that the two Koreas are seeing "fruitful results" from their diplomatic push.
Kim's attendance was a surprise to many, but there were clues that it might happen' the
start time was changed twice on the day of the concert.
His original plan, reportedly, was to attend on Tuesday... a joint performance by both
South and North Korean artists -- but he had schedule conflicts.
But his sudden appearance, which naturally came with strict security,... prevented most
of the South Korean journalists from covering the concert.
Kim entered the concert hall when he South Korean press were outside,... and without
notifying the reporters, the performance began right away.
Only one cameraman stayed inside throughout the performance... while the rest had to watch
it on a television in a nearby room.
Afterwards, the North Korean side apologized,... explaining that their exclusion wasn't intentional
but the result of a lack of communication.
The South Korean artists will hold a joint performance with their North Korean counterparts
on Tuesday afternoon... before returning to Seoul.

China lashes out at Japan for claim to Diaoyu Islands - Duration: 1:42.
The Japanese government continues its misguided claims to Korea's Dokdo... the latest in this
effort is endorsing a revised high school textbook guideline with such distorted facts.
Seoul is not alone in expressing anger over such moves by Tokyo.
Ro Aram explains why China is on the same page with Korea.
Japan's territorial claims to disputed nearby islands are nothing new.
At the end of last week, Tokyo renewed those claims by approving guidelines that require
high school textbooks and teachers to tell students that these islands belong to Japan.
They include Korea's Dokdo Island in the East Sea and the Diaoyu Islands in the East China
Sea, known as Senkaku in Japan.
The repeated claim to Dokdo has always been a thorn in relations between Tokyo and Seoul
and last Friday, Seoul called in Tokyo's ambassador to protest the new educational guidelines.
On the following day, Beijing joined Seoul in denouncing Tokyo's move.
At a regular press briefing, China's foreign ministry spokesman Lu Kang said the "Diaoyu
Islands and its adjacent islets have been an inherent part of Chinese territory since
ancient times."
He added that China firmly "defends its territorial sovereignty and that any attempt to infringe
upon that would be "futile."
He urged Japan to adopt a correct historical view when educating young people and to stop
stirring up troubles on the relevant issue.
South Korea and China have for years been at loggerheads with Japan over territorial
and historical disputes,.... which have proved to be among the most divisive factors in their
respective relations with Tokyo.

Sunday's show performed the South Korean side was not the end of the special evening.
The icing on the cake was a joint taekwondo demonstration by athletes from both sides.
Lee Ji-won has the highlights from that display of unity.
South Korea's team of Taekwondo demonstrators, now in the North,... gave their second and
final performance Monday afternoon at the Pyongyang Grand Theater.
It started at 4 p.m.... in front of a North Korean audience of more than two thousand
people.
First up was South Korea's World Taekwondo team,... with a flashy show about 30 minutes
long,... followed by martial artists from North Korea's International Taekwon-Do Federation
for another half an hour.
The highlight of Monday's show was the short but meaningful collaboration by the two sides,
which lasted about 5 minutes.
Having worked together on performance for the PyeongChang Winter Olympics in February,
the two teams displayed harmony and synchronization... and won big cheers from their North Korean
audience.
Meanwhile, South Korean pop musicians in the North were preparing for their next concert
scheduled for Tuesday.
Then they'll be performing alongside North Korean musicians, and Monday they were reportedly
discussing how to arrange the lineup.
The 190-member South Korean delegation, including the martial artists, will return to Seoul
together after Tuesday's concert.

China-related stocks soar as retaliation against THAAD seem to loosen up - Duration: 1:56.
After months of Beijing's visible economic retalitatory action against Seoul to express
its disapproval of a missile defense upgrade, things are finaly looking up.
Stocks related to China have climbed... as its ban on Korean goods and services seem
to show signs of easing.
Kim Mok-yeon breaks down the digits for us.
Last week, Chinese State Councilor Yang Jiechi visited South Korea to brief President Moon
Jae-in on a summit meeting held between North Korean leader Kim Jong-un and Chinese President
Xi Jinping.
During his talks with President Moon, Yang reaffirmed the Chinese government's willingness
to strengthen cooperation with South Korea on easing tensions on the peninsula, as well
as look forward reinforcing and restoring economic ties between Seoul and Beijing.
The visit by the special Chinese envoy was not only a boost in Northeast Asia's diplomacy,
but also a promising picture for investors, as shown on many China-related shares that
took an upturn on Monday.
Shares of flight services including Asiana Airlines and Jeju Air rose 3 percent and 1.5
percent respectively since Friday, while those in the accommodation sector such as Hotel
Shilla saw their shares climb 6 percent surpassing the 95 U.S. dollar mark for the first time
in more than two years.
Shares of Duty Free shops rose dramatically, too, with Hanwha Galleria Time World soaring
nearly 18 percent and Shinsegae International also climbing nearly 9 percent.
Some of the most sought after South Korean cosmetic brands by Chinese customers, Amore
Pacific and LG Household and Health Care also saw their shares rise 5 percent, and nearly
4 percent respectively.
Firms in the Hallyu content industry, which were hit hard by bans and unilateral cancellations,
also showed signs of recovery.
Korea's major entertainment agencies YG and JYP entertainment rose along the 4 percent
margin, while smaller companies such as Chorokbaem media and CJ E&M both rose more than 2 percent.

S. Korean president calls Korea, U.S. FTA revision talks "job well done" - Duration: 2:07.
President Moon Jae-in has called the recently concluded negotiations between Seoul and Washington
"a job well done" as it managed to remove a possible source of conflict at a time when
close cooperation between the allies is more important than ever.
Our chief Blue House correspondent Moon Connyoung reports.
South Korean President Moon Jae-in is relieved that any potential conflict between Seoul
and Washington have been settled... by concluding negotiations on the six-year-old Korea, U.S.
free trade agreement.
Speaking at a weekly meeting of his top aides on Monday, the South Korean leader gave credit
to his trade officials who spent weeks hotel-hopping in Washington as they raced to overcome major
trade hurdles with their U.S. ally ahead of high-stakes nuclear discussions with North
Korea.
"As trade protectionism turns into a dominant trend around the world, removing external
uncertainties by swiftly wrapping up talks for the Korea, U.S. FTA amendment is a huge
accomplishment."
The trade officials' efforts culminated in a revised pact the two countries announced
last week that gives U.S. automakers and pharmaceuticals more access to the South Korean market...
while lifting the threat of a 25 percent U.S. tariff on South Korean steel in exchange for
quotas that will cut imports of Korean steel by about 30 percent.
The president, however, still asked his government to carefully review possible impacts of the
revised free trade deal and draw up necessary measures to make sure local industries aren't
negatively affected.
"It's also a job well done in that it has removed potential conflicts between the two
countries when close cooperation between South Korea and the U.S. is absolutely criticial
for the establishment of peace on the Korean Peninsula and resolving North Korea's nuclear
issue."

South Korea and the U.S. can focus on the road ahead... and keep all of their attention
on the high politics of peace and security... with the South Korean president set to meet

China imposes tariff on 128 items of U.S. imports - Duration: 2:14.
China is imposing new tariffs on meat, fruit and other products from the United States.
A move that further stokes fears of a possible trade war between the world's two largest
economies.
Kim Hyesung sheds light on Beijing's eye for an eye approach.
China has imposed new tariffs of up to 25 percent on U.S. imports,... in response to
U.S. duties on imports of steel and aluminum.
The Chinese finance ministry said in a statement Sunday that it is increasing the tariff rates
on 128 kinds of U.S. products, including pork and fruits, with the new rates coming into
effect on Monday.
Beijing said the move was to "safeguard China's interests" and balance losses caused by new
U.S. tariffs.
It's expected to have an impact of around three billion U.S. dollars.
Tariff rates on eight imported U.S. products, including pork and U.S. scrap aluminum will
be subject to a 25 percent additional tariff - on top of existing duties.
China is also imposing a new 15 percent tariff on 120 imported U.S. commodities, including
fruits and nuts.
The announcement comes after Beijing has made warnings for several weeks in an escalating
trade dispute with the United States.
"We have said many times that China does not want to fight a trade war.
But we have also said if we are forced to enter into a trade war, China has the stamina
and the confidence to protect its interests."
The tariffs mirror Washington's 25 percent charge on imported steel and 15 percent hike
on aluminum announced in March.
"Beijing's tariffs target the U.S. "farm belt voters" who elected Trump.
Farmers in America's rural areas who export wine, fruit and pork will be hurt by the move.
As tensions between the two over trade heighten, China may even impose tariffs on U.S. soybeans,
given that the U.S. exports one-third of its soybeans to China."
U.S. President Donald Trump has said Washington is planning to impose duties on about 50 billion
dollars of Chinese goods,... intended to punish Beijing for U.S. allegations that China systematically
misappropriated American intellectual property.
U.S. Trade Representative Robert Lighthizer has until April 6 to release the tariff list.
