Fiona: Duuudeee
Ok I've said this about 5 groups now but BTS is staaamnd (She's trying guys)
*Rossini's Semiramide Overture plays*
*Yunyi dab*
Umu: Ok so this is the Epilogue: Young Forever, it kinda sums up everything that you just watched
and the lyrics should be on
Lindsey: Uhhhh
*Jarod winku*
Davis: Do you wanna- Lindsey: 3
Davis: 2, 1
Lindsey: Hah
Lindsey: He did it already Davis: Haha
Lindsey: That was so mean Davis: That was really mean Both: Hahaha
Kevin: Music and art for healing (or killing us with lit jams)
I don't know if this heals me
It kind of
Scars me
Peyton: -that knows us Jarod: Ooh look at th at we ah- we just went from like
240p to 1080 (Gotta watch BTS in the highest quality it's the only acceptable way)
*KAWAII MODE ACTIVATE*
Henry: Forever
Leah: Oh
Henry: Woah they're in prison
Gwen: Are they in jail
Hugo: Oh my god XD
Davis: Oh It's a maze Lindsey: It's a labyrinth. They like these f***ing mazes in their kpop videos
Lindsey: Their mazes and their disappearing women
Fiona: Negative
Shimon: Woah Leah: Labyrinth
Fiona: Negatives turn positive Henry: So much film
Davis: Memories- Lindsey: Oh it turned into real
Fiona: This like pale ghostly colors, ethereal Henry: That bass just murdered me
Leah: And they have
Fiona: I have that ring
Leah: The old type of film
Davis: There's just so much bass
Kevin: Ay story of my life
I'm playing piano
Hugo: There's that theme of growing older
Fiona: Fetal position
Fiona: Ok oh it's on fire
Yunyi: Korean is such a great language for rap
Fiona: berp bing
Yunyi: It just works so well with rap
Kevin: Oh there we go
Davis: Yeah dude they must've just, grown apart right Lindsey: Cookies yeah
Jarod: Yeah this one's really deep
Lindsey: They just kinda drifted it looks like
Davis: That's why that's the vibe I'm getting from this pretty early on
Peyton: Oohh
Lindsey: They're all like missing each other but they think that they're better off
Leah: Water
Is that a banana (I thought that too tbh XD )
Shimon: No
Peyton: This is so sad
Jarod: He's caged in, caged in by reality
Peyton: Oh wow *Yawn talk*
Lindsey: And now they're going to try to find each other but they're in this labyrinth so it's hard
Fiona: It's a helipad!
Yunyi: This track is mindblowing
I love it
Umu: Do you like it
Davis: Yeaah
That's a good drop
Davis: Oohh that's really cool how they do that. They put them in there but it's like they're close but just not, cuz they're trapped
Davis: I'm trapped Umu: maze of youth OHmegid
Lindsey: I'm trapped XD
Fiona: All these memories
Henry: I definitely like this music a lot
Gwen: aw they all got out of the maze i'm proud of them
Fiona: If the flower petals represent his friends
Lindsey: Now they're flashing back to all the fun times that they had together in the other stuff
Fiona: He's lost, without his friends
In this maze that is life
Shimon: I feel like if you're young you know, you can be careless, you can do whatever you want really
Lindsey: Woah woah they're all upside down except for one
Kevin: That was a cool shot
He's like looking at everyone upside down
Shimon: But when you step over that line then you have more responsibilities
Yunyi: Oh complementary colors ungh
So prettyy
Davis: So one of them died
and that drove the rest of them apart
Davis: cuz it was just too much grief Lindsey: Oh yeah, I think the one who killed his father then jumped he died
Henry: Foreveer Fiona: I like this part musically because all of the extra synth music in the background drops out and it's more
vocals and like it's kinda chanty
Davis: I feel like that's really off base but that would be a cool story
Both: Southwest
Henry: Oh that was it
Yunyi: What does the airplane mean (They're leaving for the WINGS Tour lol)
Lindsey: It's over? Umu: It's over
Davis: What Lindsey: You need to read us this theory like right now
Davis: Now
Umu: What did you think of the song
Leah: There was no- It just did the forever we are young but there wasn't another part of the song that caught me
Umu: Mhm
Leah: I feel like there could've-
Umu: It was just the chorus over and over, it was like the rapping at the beginning and then the chorus over and over
Shimon: Yeah Leah: I feel like they could've had like a
Leah: A few verses
Umu: Yeah that's why I said at the beginning this isn't a full song that's the thing. It's an Epilogue so they didn't write a complete song it is missing a few verses
and like the bridge I think
Leah: But it was cool so it should've had, ya know
Umu: More, cuz you liked it?
Leah: Yeah Umu: Awesome
Davis: I'm s- I'm telling you man Justin Timberlake 20/20 experience
Lindsey: I liked it
Davis: That's what I'm hearing when I listen to this
Leah: I think the song really is important to the artists as people because they probably had to give up a lot to follow their dream to become musicians
And they gave up a lot of ...to their childhood but they like..want to keep it
Jarod: You know the music was like cool
But it's like not necessarily what you're focusing on because it's very much a story
I mean, obviously there's some of the motifs like some of the chords stuff that came like coming back at the end of things especially in that little mini montage
That like some of the stuff came back
And then the young forever it like
Ya know just that repeating young forever, saying that so many times it just kinda carves into your brain, forever
But it's like, it was all very kind of like a cinematic thing that really helps- like i'm sure If I listened to it, watched that again without paying attention to the story
I'm sure I'd be like I'd pick up a lot more things but it's cool because it was subtle and I feel like without me realizing it
It probably helped a lot
Umu: Ok so you liked this song out of all of them the best?
Henry: Nnnoo
Fiona: I think I liked- Henry: But it was the most consistent which was nice Umu: Mhm
Henry: The view was super cool Fiona: I don't- I don't know
Fiona: This last song was
It was like really
look at all these memories that we had, I'm lost in this maze of life because there's petals raining down around me which symbolizes my friends' death
and he's lost without
his friends, that was his home and his source of
comfort most of the time
Jarod: But you know it teaches you that if you
(Here it comes lol)
if you stab your dad and you run in the middle of a forest to an abandoned pool and hang out with your broskis
and just ya know just chill out you can get away with no negative repercussions
other than ya know depression, anxiety, crippling guilt, but other than that you're good
Henry: Are there any standing theories even at all
that
It's one person and it's multiple personalities
Are there any- are there any of those or am I the only one who is perceiving a little of that
There are standing theories
*Happy Henry is happy*
Fiona: Slow clap
Henry: It just looked like they were focusing on one person a lot so I was like
Das the dude
Yunyi: Dude I don't know what to make of this
I still don't think it's about corruption of youth
Umu: Do you wanna just read the storyline
Kevin: Sure Yunyi: Uum
Kevin: Wait wait Yunyi: Yeah
Yunyi: Corruption of youth, they want to be young but they can't stay young
Yunyi: That is my theory
Hugo: I don't know I think they represented just what struggles people go through as they try to figure out who they are and how to grow up
Gwen: Yeah but who the hell struggles with being in a tub (I'm pretty accident prone I'd probably drown lol)
Like what does that represent (Drowning lol)
Hugo: That represents a lot of depression man (that too)
Gwen: But so does the fire and everything could just be like, depression Hugo: Exactly there are different kinds-
Hugo: Yeah but there's different kinds of depression Hugo: Yeah I know so which one is which. That's what I'm trying to figure out
Umu: Ok are you guys ready to have your mind blown by what actually was happening
Umu: About the storyline Shimon: Oh is there an explanation
Umu: Yup
*Click the link in description for the theory*
Jarod: OOoooohhhh Umu: So that's the song, but it's even more the story of Jin, the oldest person who I was telling you about
Umu: Struggling with his own metamorphosis
Umu: Trying to return to the pretend world of Neverland which was the prologue which was the beach and all of them having fun together
Kevin: Where he thinks he will be able to reconnect with his youthful self and feel as a whole again
Soo
Yunyi: So I was right
Umu: I Need You, The Prologue and Run are a retelling of the same events over and over with shifting timelines and perspectives between characters
Lindsey: Mhm Davis: Ok
Kevin: Each of the boys has his own storyline illustrating typical stages and feelings of adolescent life
Self hatred and pain, J-Hope (MY BOO I LOVE HOSEOK)
Kevin: Who is- Umu: Pills Kevin: Ooh
Kevin: Through even depression, Jimin
Umu: Tub Yunyi: Lollipop guy, Oh Kevin: Tub
Kevin: Oh, anger and rebellion, V
Umu: Stabby and jump off water (Umu how do you jump off water)
Kevin: Oh
Angst and confusion, Suga (XDXD yall are laughing too KEVIN THAT WAS SO CUTE)
Umu: Suga, HAHAHHAHA su- HAHHAAHA
Kevin: Oh angst and deep
Volatility and longing, Jkook
Umu: HAHHA
Jungkook, that's the youngest he got- kept getting beat up
Kevin: Oh, denial and survival RapMon
Umu: RapMon is lollipop
Kevin: They are their own selves with their own multi-layered narratives but they should primarily interpreted as parts of Jin's own psyche
Umu: And then ultimately the whole trilogy is about the process
Kevin: Jin goes through an allegory going up
Oh wow that's so weird
Davis: Oh so this is all just Jin's thing Umu: This is Jin.
Umu: I have an allegory for- Lindsey: So yeah I was right then when I said that's why the guy disappeared from his own picture because he was dissociating with his childhood
Lindsey: And like moving on and growing up Davis: Right right because it wasn't necessarily the image of them together so much as it was like- Umu: Just his memory of ???
Lindsey: Yeah yeah that's what I mean Davis: Yeah no I was agreeing ya know collaborating
*THE POWER OF FRIENDSHIP*
Kevin: (What)
Umu: And the one that you recognized it's just like something French, It's used everytime as a wake up song for people involved in ?? Davis: Inception
Davis: Inception, that's what the plot of inception was. *Punch* *Punch* *Punch* I knew it
*Scared Lindsey*
Hugo: I don't know like I get that interpretation. I like interpreting it as their own stories of representations of different struggles that people go through
Gwen: I feel like it would be weird for them to write three songs just about like one dude in the group ya know so I feel like part of it has to do with they're all going through the same type of thing
Hugo: Yeah
Umu: So there you go Jarod: That's crazy
Jarod: Like there's so much thought
and time to create these really intricate sophisticated storylines, I mean props to the writers
Umu: There you go
Leah: That was, wow
