Hello! I'm Natalie Polutta! I'm a group
fitness instructor and a wellness coach. And
I wanted to ask you: do you like to eat?
I love to eat. I like food. I like to taste
good things that are mixed together and
prepared well. This weekend, I was at a
conference for my company, and a man
named Joshua, Dr. Joshua Dunsky, shared
with us some interesting things about
our food in America. And so I wanted to
share about that. Did you know that in our
current state, the kids in the generation
that is coming up, they are the first
generation to not be expected to live
longer than their parents. And that's
pretty sad to me. We have billions of
dollars of research going towards health,
but our health is declining at an
alarming rate. We've got cancer and
diabetes on the rise. Forty-two percent
of Americans will be obese by 2030, he
said. We have something that's called the
TDOS syndrome. That is toxicity,
deficiency, overweight and obesity, and
stress. All of these combine to bring
our health down. And there have been over
a hundred thousand new chemicals
introduced since World War II, and because of
that we have a lot more deadly toxins in
our bod. A lot of that comes from the
food that we eat. Some of it is unavoidable
just in the environment that we're in.
We have genetically engineered food,
we've got insecticides, hormones being
used, all kinds of things that are being
used that are affecting our food. And 1 in 8
women are going to develop breast cancer
and only ten percent of that is because
of genetics. The other ninety percent is
because of our environment. And that's
disturbing. I mean, that is flat out disturbing to
me. And obesity... because of the obesity in
1982, we were told go and eat a low-fat
diet. And do you know that since
time we've actually become fatter and
sicker as a nation? So what happened?
Sugar. Sugar is a big part of that. And we
have lots of sugar in everything that's
packaged that we eat and especially drinks.
Sodas. One can of soda a day, one can of
soda a day can equal 15.6 pounds of
visceral fat. That's fat around your
organs in your body. So you may look
thin on the outside, but you may have
all that fat on the inside that's still
not good for you. Plus the food that we
have is bankrupt. It's deficient, and so
that leads to obesity, also, because we're
just taking in these foods, but our body
is not using them properly. We need trace
minerals through 70 trace minerals that
we need for our body to function
properly. We're not what we eat, we are
what we absorb. And our body doesn't see
calories. Calorie counting doesn't
work. It's not a good fit, a good measure.
What it sees is nutrients, what are
actually good things that are going into
your body. And according to Dr. Don
Colbert in this book, it is called Eat This
And Live, he says some of our food
shouldn't even be labeled as food. It
should be labeled as "consumable product"
or "edible, but void of nutrient content."
That's pretty telling. He shares about
living foods and dead foods.
Living foods are fruits and veggies,
grains, seeds, nuts. They're packaged in
things like skins and peels... those are
good living food. They are not bleached, they are
not refined, they're not chemically
enhanced, they're not preserved. They
are plucked, they are eaten and they're
recognizable as food. On the other
hand, you have dead foods. And they're
altered in every imaginable way because
the manufacturers want them to last a long
time and they're addictive! That means
they have sugar put in them and man-made
fats, all things that are not good for
you. So life breeds life and death
breeds death
And you don't want to take in foods that
are going to cause death. So, let's talk
about living foods has
enzymes, enzymes in them that actually
interact with your digestive enzymes in
a good way, in a proper way. And they
have the natural ingredients that God put
in them, and vitamins and minerals,
phytonutrients, fiber, antioxidants, and so
much more that your system needs and it
uses them in their natural state.
And they actually cause your digestive
system,and your bloodstream, and your
organs to function properly. The dead
foods, they hit your body like a foreign
substance and the chemicals place a
strain on your liver. You have
these toxic man-made fats that begin to
form in your cells. (Uh, oh. I just flipped off of
my screen. Sorry about that. We'll come
back.) These toxic man-made fats
that begin to form in your cell
membranes and they're stored as fat and
they are also delivered as plaque. They
form plaque in your arteries. Not good!
And your body tries to get what it can
out of these dead foods, but it leaves
you undernourished, overfed, and
overweight. You have auto-intoxication...
Dr. Dunsky from this weekend
talked about auto-intoxication where
your blood capillaries in your colon
pick up toxins and poisons, and it seeps
through into the bowel wall, and so it's
just a toxic situation in your body. So what can
you do? Well one solution, of course, is to go with
living foods instead of prepackaged
foods. Look for things that are whole and
natural and real good foods for you.
The other thing which I alluded to or
talked about last week was nutritional
cleansing with the intermittent fasting,
because dieting doesn't really
work. What dieting does is it goes after
calories. It doesn't remove toxins. When
you reduce calories, you will see
some weight loss but those toxins have
been released into your body
and they're the things that
are going to help cause you to rebound
and lose or gain even more weight after
you get off your diet. Dieting based
on calorie count is not a good permanent
solution. If you would like information

to eat foods that are in our society.
