Alright, today is International Women's Day and I just had the honor of doing a coaching

session with Erica Parsons.

Now if you don't know Erica Parsons she's actually, has one of the most fascinating

careers.

She is a celebrity ghost writer.

I'm in a second see if she's still there.

We're gonna see if we can get a quick interview with her.

It's kind of fascinating stuff.

- [Erica] Hey Thaddeus.

Do you have time for this?

- I do.

- Alright so ladies and gentlemen.

My good friend, Erica Parsons.

Erica is one of those people who gets to meet and hang out with celebrities.

The caveat is... she never talks about it.

- Shh.

- A confidentiality thing.

What I loved about working with Erica is your... passion for words.

I know you helped do some editing on the workbooks we just finished.

And I was kind of blown away at the word choice.

I thought I was good writer until I saw your comments, then I'm like, I got some work to

do.

Tell me a little bit about your passion for words, where did this come from, how'd you

get into writing?

- My passion for words definitely came from my mom.

I think my first children's book I started out by talking about how she would read us

bedtime stories from the encyclopedia and the dictionary.

So that's where the love comes from, and I just started...

- Bedtime stories, from the dictionary?

- Yeah.

- Encyclopedias make sense.

- Yeah, couldn't tell her that that didn't really count as bedtime stories, but that's

where it came from.

I think the two of us, we wrote a book, Locked In, in 2001 and self published it, had no

idea what we were doing.

It just kind of took off and people started coming to me to help them write and craft

their stories.

- And this was the book on poetry, this was a book of poetry?

- That was the book of poetry and it was just a fluke that; we released it, we self published

it, and it ended up becoming a textbook for Wayne State University, for one of the sociology

classes.

- Wait you wrote a textbook?

- I guess I did, turns out I wrote a textbook.

- Pretty cool.
