Youtube daily report Mar 7 2017

These are our ways, this is our territory

Our village is called Bameno

and we are Waorani, the jungle people.

This is our family clan in Bameno

I will introduce my elders

my cousin, my wife, my eldest son, my other cousin.

Before I was born, the cowodi invaded our land

and conquered us, something told already in our myths.

Kamperi, our father escaped and leaded our people here

together with his wife and brothers

they´ve founded Bameno back in our jungle

Now we are free to be ourselves again

raising our kids as our ancestors taught us.

I had a vision to escape and bring my people back here

to get back our natural well being.

Here we could teach again our lifestyle to the kids

The first lesson: to learn the spear hunting

Only the grown up men and women are allowed to go hunting

S. Korea condemns N. Korea's missile launch, vows stronger U.S. deterrence against N. Korea - Duration: 2:15.

Shortly after news filtered through about the missile launches,...

South Korea's acting president Hwang Kyo-ahn convened an emergency meeting of the National

Security Council at the presidential office.

For more on Seoul's reaction to Pyongyang's latest provocation,... here's Song Ji-sun.

At the National Security Council meeting, South Korea's Prime Minister Hwang Kyo-ahn

condemned North Korea's missile launches as a direct challenge and grave provocation to

the international community.

The acting president said North Korea's missile provocations are an imminent and existing

threat against the security and lives of the South Korean people.

The acting president also ordered the maintenance of a robust defense readiness in close alliance

with the U.S., and to deter additional provocations through the joint South Korea-U.S. military

drills that are currently being held.

"In addition to deploying the U.S. missile defense system THAAD in South Korea to defend

against North Korea's nuclear missiles, we must seek practical measures to reinforce

the U.S. deterrent against North Korea."

Hwang recently convened a National Security Council meeting after the murder of Kim Jong-nam

-- but this was the first time the acting president has chaired the meeting at the so-called

"underground bunker" of Cheong Wa Dae since he assumed the duty in place of suspended

President Park Geun-hye.

"Given the regime's brutality and recklessness, as seen in its murder of Kim Jong-nam, it's

hard to imagine what will result from North Korea's obsession with nuclear weapons."

Hwang pledged to focus Seoul's diplomatic efforts so that international sanctions are

practically and strongly implemented on North Korea.

National Security Council chief Kim Kwan-jin also spoke with his U.S. counterpart H.R.

McMaster on the phone... to beef up cooperation in pressuring the North.

CloseUP: M*A*S*H actor Mike Farrell a death penalty opponent - Duration: 6:51.

JOSH: WELCOME BACK.

OF THE MOST SUCCESSFUL SERIES IN

TELEVISION HISTORY, BUT HIS DAYS

AS A "M A S H" SURGEON, B.J.

HUNNICUTT, ARE WELL BEHIND HIM.

MIKE FARRELL IS TAKING A LEADING

ROLE IN THE DEBATE AGAINST THE

DEATH PENALTY.

THANKS FOR JOINING US.

HOW DID YOU GET INVOLVED IN

THIS?

MR. FARRELL: IN THE DEATH

PENALTY ISSUE?

THE SUPREME COURT REINSTATED THE

DEATH PENALTY IN 1976 AFTER A

FOUR-YEAR HIATUS.

A MINISTER FROM NASHVILLE

CONTACTED ME AND SAID WE WOULD

HAVE A BLOODBATH IN THIS COUNTRY

AND NEEDED HELP.

SO I WENT DOWN WITH HIM.

IT STARTED WHAT HAS BEEN A LONG

ROAD TO ABOLITION OF THE DEATH

PENALTY, WHICH I THINK WILL COME

TO US NOT TOO FAR AWAY IN THE

DISTANT FUTURE.

JOSH: NO ONE HAS BEEN PUT TO

DEATH HERE IN NEW HAMPSHIRE IN

DECADES.

WHAT IS THE PUSHBACK YOU ARE

GETTING AND WHAT IS THE CASE YOU

ARE MAKING?

MR. FARRELL: THE CASE I AM

MAKING IS THE DEATH PENALTY DOES

US HARM AS A SOCIETY.

THE PUSHBACK IS WE HAVE TO SHOW

PEOPLE HOW TOUGH WE ARE ON

CRIME, WE HAVE TO DO EYE FOR AN

EYE.

THAT IS THE USUAL THING.

WHAT IT IS MOSTLY JUST PEOPLE

ARE FRIGHTENED.

AND POLITICIANS KEEP TELLING

PEOPLE THEY SHOULD BE

FRIGHTENED.

THAT KEEPS US ON TENTERHOOKS

ABOUT WHAT IS THE RIGHT THING TO

DO.

BUT IT IS FAIRLY CLEAR TO ME,

AND I THINK CLEAR TO ANYBODY WHO

THINKS ABOUT IT, THAT WE HAVE AN

ISSUE THAT IS RACIST IN

APPLICATION AND IS USED AGAINST

THE POOR AND THE POORLY

DEFENDED.

IT COSTS A LOT OF MONEY, AND IT

TRAPS AND KILLS INNOCENT PEOPLE.

I DO NOT THINK WE REALLY -- WE

ARE THE LAST MAJOR DEVELOPED

NATION IN THE WORLD THAT

CONTINUES TO USE THE DEATH

PENALTY.

JOSH: ARE YOU MORE CONCERNED

ABOUT THE PHILOSOPHICAL DEBATE

BEHIND THE DEATH PENALTY,

WHETHER RIGHT OR WRONG, OR JUST

THE WAY THE CURRENT PROCESS IS

OR BOTH?

MR. FARRELL: I THINK IT IS

WRONG.

I THINK IT DOES US HARM.

AS FAR BACK AS THE FOUNDERS OF

THIS NATION, BENJAMIN RUSH -- HE

STARTED THE PENNSYLVANIA PRISON

SOCIETY, A PSYCHIATRIST AND

WONDERFUL MAN, AND HE SAYS THE

DEATH PENALTY DEHUMANIZES

EVERYONE, NOT JUST THE PERSON IT

KILLS.

WHEN YOU HAVE A SYSTEM THAT

TRAPS AND KILLS INNOCENT PEOPLE,

YOU DO GREAT HARM.

WE HAVE 150 SIX PEOPLE TODAY,

AND OUR COUNTRY, WHO HAVE BEEN

TRIED, CONVICTED, SENTENCED TO

DEATH AND WAITED DECADES,

SOMETIMES, WAITING FOR THIS

EXECUTION PROCESS, ONLY TO BE

FOUND INNOCENT AND FREED.

THERE IS A PROBLEM WITH THE

SYSTEM THAT GETS SO INVOLVED

WITH POLITICS, WHERE

POLITICIANS, WHO WANT TO ENHANCE

THEIR NAME OR REPUTATION AND

SHOW HOW TOUGH THEY ARE ON

CRIME, THEY BEGIN TO LOOK

ASKANCE AT WHAT THE FACTS ARE

AND ALLOW THEMSELVES TO BE LED

INTO THIS "I AM GOING TO WIN"

ATTITUDE RATHER THAN LOOKING FOR

JUSTICE.

IT SEEMS TO ME THOSE OF US WHO

CARE ABOUT JUSTICE REALLY WANT

TO SEE JUSTICE DONE, NOT JUST

KILLING.

JOSH: IN YOUR EFFORT TO MAKE

CHANGE, IS IT AT MORE OF THE

STATE LEVEL, PARTICULARLY WITH

THIS CURRENT ADMINISTRATION,

WHERE THEY ARE TALKING ABOUT

THINGS LIKE TORTURE AND

GUANTANAMO BAY?

DOES IT HAVE TO BE AT THE STATE

LEVEL?

MR. FARRELL: WE HAVE A HISTORY

IN THIS COUNTRY OF ITS ENOUGH

STATES STOP SOMETHING, THE

SUPREME COURT SAYS THE BODY

POLITIC HAS REALLY MADE A

STATEMENT.

THAT HAS HAPPENED IN TERMS OF

EXECUTING CHILDREN, FOR ANYONE

UNDER 18 AT THE TIME OF A MURDER

, IS NO LONGER HELD LIABLE FOR

THE DEATH PENALTY, BECAUSE OF

THE FACT THAT SO MANY STATES

SAID KIDS CANNOT REALLY BE HELD

RESPONSIBLE, BECAUSE THEY DO NOT

HAVE THEIR BRAIN DEVELOPMENT

FURTHER ENOUGH TO FULLY

UNDERSTAND THE CONSEQUENCE OF

THEIR ACTIONS.

THE SAME IS TRUE WITH MENTALLY

DEFICIENT PEOPLE.

LITTLE BY LITTLE, WE ARE

BEGINNING TO UNDERSTAND IT DOES

NOT MAKE SENSE.

JOSH: ARE PEOPLE TALKING ABOUT

THIS ENOUGH?

THERE ARE SO MANY ISSUES AT THE

NATIONAL LEVEL, AND THE DEATH

PENALTY HAS BEEN RIGHT THERE

WITH ABORTION WHEN IT COMES TO

THE SOCIAL ISSUES.

BUT THERE ARE SO MANY

DISTRACTIONS RIGHT NOW.

OUR PEOPLE LISTENING?

MR. FARRELL: -- ARE PEOPLE

LISTENING?

MR. FARRELL: THAT IS A QUESTION.

I FIND PEOPLE ARE BEGINNING TO

LISTEN.

TODAY, THE GALLUP POLL SAYS FOR

THE FIRST TIME, THE SUPPORT OF

THE DEATH PENALTY FALLS BELOW

OPPOSITION TO IT.

SO WHEN YOU SEE BOTCHED

EXECUTIONS, SEE INNOCENT PEOPLE

BEING RELEASED ON DEATH ROW, SEE

ALL OF THESE THINGS HAPPENING,

YOU BEGIN TO UNDERSTAND ABOUT

THE RACIAL ASPECT AND ALL OF

THESE THINGS.

AND PARTICULATE TODAY, THE COST.

IT IS HIDEOUSLY EXPENSIVE.

JOSH: THIS MUST BE A DIFFICULT

ARGUMENT TO MAKE, AT TIMES PD

HAVE TO DEAL WITH THE VICTIMS'

-- AT TIMES.

YOU HAVE TO DEAL WITH THE

VICTIMS' FAMILIES.

MR. FARRELL: VICTIMS' FAMILIES

GO BOTH WAYS.

SOME FEEL THE NEED FOR

VENGEANCE, AND OTHERS FEEL THAT,

IN THE NAME OF THEIR LOVED ONE,

THEY SHOULD NOT BE COMMITTING

ANOTHER MURDER -- WHICH IS WHAT

THE STATE DOES WHEN IT

EXECUTES SOMEONE.

SOMETIMES PEOPLE ARE JUST

GRIEVOUSLY INJURED AND ANGERED

AND WANT TO STRIKE OUT.

YOU CANNOT SAY THEY ARE WRONG

FOR FEELING THAT WAY.

I JUST SAY ULTIMATELY, IN TERMS

OF A SOCIAL RESPONSE TO

SOMETHING, YOU HAVE TO DO WHAT

IS RIGHT.

JOSH: I HAVE TO ASK YOU, JUST

BECAUSE THERE ARE A LOT OF

PEOPLE WHO KNOW YOU FROM YOUR

WORK ON "M A S H," ONE OF THE

BEST AND LONGEST-RUNNING SHOWS

EVER, IS THIS A FULL-TIME JOB

FOR YOU?

ARE YOU STILL DABBLING IN YOUR

FORMER CAREER?

MR. FARRELL: SURE, I STILL ACT

IN THINGS THAT ARE INTERESTING.

I DID A SERIES ON THE SUNDANCE

CHANNEL AT THE END OF THE YEAR.

AND I DO A PLAY.

ANOTHER ISSUE I AM CONCERNED

ABOUT IS THE AND BUY MEDS DO A

PLAY ABOUT THE DISCOVERER OF THE

-- ABOUT IS THE ENVIRONMENT.

I DO A PLAY ABOUT THE DISCOVERER

: N. Korea fires four ballistic missiles into East Sea: S. Korean military - Duration: 5:24.

North Korea fired off more missiles earlier today.

We are awaiting confirmation on what kind of missiles they were,... but we know they

flew hundreds of kilometers before coming down in the East Sea.

Our defense correspondent Kim Hyun-bin joins us today.

Hyun-bin I understand the significance lies in the number at this point.

The South Korean military says North Korea fired off four ballistic missiles this morning.

Experts say It is unprecedented for North Korea to fire four missiles at the same time.

"North Korea fired four ballistic missiles into the East Sea from its Tongchang-ri missile

site at 7:36 a.m. on Monday.

The missiles flew around one-thousand kilometers at an altitude of 260 kilometers.

Seoul and Washington are currently analyzing the launch."

A defense ministry official says that the missiles could be a mixture of mid-range Rodong

missiles... and Pukguksong-2 missiles, which are an upgraded version of the North's intermediate-range

Musudan ballistic missile.

Japan announced that three of the four missiles fell in its exclusive economic zone,... and

one came within 250 kilometers of Japanese land.

The South Korean military has condemned the launch.

It says it's on high alert and maintaining readiness for additional provocations.

"North Korea has launched another ballistic missile following the launch last month.

This is a clear violation of UN Security Council resolutions and an attack on the peace and

stability of South Korea and the international community."

Last Friday, the North had threatened to launch more missiles in response to the annual Key

Resolve and Foal Eagle drills between Seoul and Washington.

The large-scale field training drills called Foal Eagle has started two days before on

Wednesday... and the command post exercise Key Resolve will start next week.

It's common for North Korea to fire missiles during the drills, which are set to continue

through April, and experts expect the North to launch several more missiles through then.

This latest act is expected to solidify Seoul and Washington's commitment to deploying the

U.S. missile defense system THAAD.

This issue is becoming quite a controversy here in South Korea, with Beijing slapping

economic restrictions on South Korean products sold in China.

So why is the planned deployment causing such a fuss... and what are the pros and cons of

the defense upgrade?

South Korea and the U.S. confirmed early last year that they will bring THAAD to the peninsula.

They reached their decision after North Korea conducted its fifth nuclear test and launched

an intercontinental ballistic missile.

To get a better idea of THAAD's capabilities, let's take a look at this chart.

You can see Pyongyang has a range of missiles -- from its tactical Scud missiles, to its

intermediate-range Musudan ballistic missiles... and ICBM's.

They are also working to perfect submarine-launched ballistic missiles, creating another level

of threat since detecting an SLBM is very difficult.

During a war,... it's thought that the Scud series missiles, with a range of up to 500

kilometers, would be used to target key military facilities in the South.

Rodong missiles, which have a range of up to 15-hundred kilometers, would likely target

the U.S. base in Okinawa, Japan.

The troops there are the first U.S. troops that would be deployed in a time of crisis

on the peninsula.

The Musudan, which has a range of three thousand kilometers, is capable of reaching the U.S.

territory of Guam... and the Dapodong ICBM is able to reach the west coast of the United

States.

So with the deployment of the THAAD system, Seoul and Washington would be better able

to intercept some of these missiles when fired upon.

Before the THAAD announcement...

Seoul's defense ministry said it would pursue its own missile defense system known as Korea

Air and Missile Defense.

Officials say both systems are necessary.

Could you walk us through some of the similarities and differences?

Sure.

First, the two systems have different purposes.

The Korea Air and Missile Defense system mostly uses Patriot two and Patriot three missiles.

Both are part of a low-tier missile defense system and have an altitude range of around

15 kilometers.

THAAD is a mid-tier missile defense system able to intercept a missile from an altitude

of 150 kilometers.

So technically it gives Korea another layer of missile defense.

If THAAD misses the enemy missile, Seoul will have another chance to intercept the missile

with its low-tier Patriot missiles.

Given all of that, one expert has pointed to the potential goal of this latest launch.

"There is a possibility that North Korea fired the four missiles at once to neutralize THAAD.

However all four missiles are within THAAD's interception range so it doesn't have what

it takes to neutralize the system."

Now, we know that China is strongly opposed to the THAAD system.

What is the primary source of its objections?

Let's hear what an expert has to say

"The biggest problem is that the U.S. will be in charge of THAAD.

China is suspicious that the system could be used against them instead of North Korea."

THAAD is equipped with a X-band radar that has a detection radius of two thousand kilometers,

which, when deployed to South Korea, would make it possible to detect most of China's

key facilities.

Thank you Hyun-bin.

That was our defense correspondent Kim Hyun-bin, talking about North Korea's latest missile

launch and the issues surrounding the deployment to South Korea of the THAAD missile defense

system.

S. Korea struggle to stay at OECD economic growth ranking top 10 - Duration: 1:08.

South Korea barely managed to hang on to the 10th spot in the OECD's latest economic growth

ranking... after tanking to eleven in the year prior.

Gone are the glory days of easily staying in the top five.

We don't have to go back decades to see when that was a relatively sure thing.

As recently as 2014, Korea's numbers safely lifted it to the 4th spot.

Last year's two-point-seven percent is a far cry from near 5-percent growth recorded by

the likes of Iceland and Ireland.

As potential countermeasures, analysts point to the use of bold, long-term investment to

produce new companies, industries and jobs without government help.

But the period of low growth seems likely to persist, with factors like the Fourth Industrial

Revolution, income polarization, intensifying social conflict and anti-globalization...

expected to deal more punishing blows to Korea's trade-dependent economy.

Modeling in Japan // Kabuki Face Mask - Duration: 9:01.

Hey guys! Welcome back to my channel!

Today I'm going to do a video about my time modeling in Japan!

If you guys haven't heard of this

I do the modeling for the Kabuki Face Mask ever since it came out

You can find these products in Tokyu Hands, in Loft, everywhere

It's everywhere! It's at the airport

I'm everywhere but nobody knows it!

My face is covered completely

and yeah, you can't tell who it is

but it is me! And I have a couple of them here

right here these are from my shoots.

They gave them to me while I was doing the shoots.

I'm not a big One Piece fan, but

I was just thinking that maybe this could be a good chance to do a giveaway!

The face packs that i am giving out are the animal face pack

This is one of the first ones that I ever did

and it has a panda and a tiger in there.

The second one is a One Piece one.

I'm gonna send these together because sending things are very expensive

Which, by the way, i did start a Patreon page if you guys are interested in supporting this channel.

I definitely want to make some money to do some more giveaways and travel more

and just make great content for you guys.

But yeah, so I have some great content coming up in the future so no worries about that!

It's been a couple weeks, I apologize for not posting a video.

There's a lot that's been going on in my life

and if you guys are interested in hearing more about the personal side of my life

you can head over to my second channel "Liz Kelly"

and find out more about day-in-the-life stuff and vlogs and my music

and how everything is going with me on a daily basis.

This channel is meant for Japan only so you guys can

choose what you want to watch or watch both, whatever you wanna do.

But please subscribe to my second channel

and be sure to follow me on all my social media platforms.

and that being said, I'm going right into this video

Ok, so I have some clips from before when I was modeling.

I used to do it in Nagoya and I actually lived right next to the studio when I was doing it

And if you guys are wondering how I got this modeling position

It's through a friend of mine who had been working at the company Dentsu

for quite a while and they wanted a blond-haired girl to be their model.

The past few times I've been doing it's been very enjoyable and a great experience

I am in no way an experienced model.

It's a very different type of modeling.

Basically, they put these face masks on you and they try to wring it out as much as possible

but they also want it to stick on your face

so after they wring it out and everything they just plop it on your face

and they make sure it's nice and smooth

if there's wrinkles or anything they actually cut some of it

My face is extremely small, which apparently in Japan is like a huge thing

like girls that have small faces are like envied by other Japanese girls

I don't know, it's just the thing in Japan.

But yeah, they really really like the fact that I have a small face, but they don't at the same time

because they have to cut it and make it smaller just to fit my face.

So there's a lot of maintenance when it comes to modeling these things

Hey guys! I'm at the studio right now but I have to be quiet.

I'm about to get my hair done. Today is superheroes so it's pretty cool.

I'm super excited to do superheroes because we have Iron Man and Captain America

This is so exciting!

I hope I can get a lot of shots but we're gonna be busy.

So yeah! Let's get started!

That's true, but my friends always speak English.

Your friends do?

Yes, that's right.

Wow!

Ok, when they put them on they look so good

but they definitely don't look as good if you were to do it by yourself

because obviously you don't really care how good they look

But they're fun because you can take pictures with them

in the mirror with your friends at sleepovers! They're so much fun!

I've been doing it ever since and now I moved to Tokyo so they moved the studio to Tokyo.

A lot of them came from Tokyo anyway so this actually works out

I worked with another model I think he's half-Korean. He's also an actor.

So there were times when we would be together and we would be doing shoots together.

And then there are other times where they'll just Photoshop us in together.

They actually dress us up a lot!

Just to look the part. So for example, we did this Chinese type face mask

And they put a bunch of Chinese clothing on us and these huge head things, hats

I don't even know what they're called, but they were so heavy!

and it hurt so bad. Would probably never do that when you're dressing up with these on.

So they would dress us up, especially for Halloween.

I did a vampire one which was probably one of my favorites to do

Then there was one day where I did like a zillion shoots with like five different masks. It was crazy!

and they would put all these wigs on me

and it was mostly anime and manga characters which was pretty neat!

The process is very tedious and it usually takes a full day to do like three to four masks

It is very tiring. I actually would prefer to do more clothes modeling

because you move around a lot, do different poses, etc.

But basically, you just stand there and they tell you to

you know open your eyes or look this way

or look that way or hold a prop or something like that.

So it's not too much but it does take a lot of focus and a lot of stillness

and control of your body just to stand there for that long because once you start getting tired

your eyes kind of droop and they want your eyes to pop, so you have to open them really wide!

This whole experience has helped my Japanese definitely because I have to listen to directions

And throughout this experience, I've gotten a lot better doing it.

If you guys are interested in modeling there's a lot of agencies out there.

One of them that I know is called Avocado.

I know a few people who've joined that just to get some jobs.

With other companies, it's actually very difficult to model in Japan

There's a lot of competition when it comes to modeling.

So I definitely probably wouldn't choose it as my career.

But if you're interested in participating in this giveaway

comment down below which one you like the best and why.

not just between these two but the ones on the website, which one do you like the best?

and i will send you a message personally and send this to you guys.

Actually, I was in the newspaper not too long ago which was pretty cool

because there was a meeting for all the presidents around the world at the summit

And they gave these to all the presidents!

And they also gave the brochure to all the presidents so basically Obama saw my face!

He knows me, but he doesn't know that he knows me!

Yeah, that was pretty cool i thought that was really exciting.

I'm still everywhere, my face is everywhere so if you guys find it

just take a picture of it and send it to me on Twitter

Hashtag, I dunno, #modelkelly

It's pretty cool, it's interesting it's weird at the same time!

These, just so you guys know, are about $10 a piece.

They're not cheap, but they come with two in one pack.

This is a great souvenir if you guys are traveling in Japan to bring back home with you.

But anyway, I hope you guys enjoyed this video and I will see you in the next one!

Bye!

English Expressions: Are you up for it? / Do you fancy it? - Duration: 5:31.

Hello, hello!

Welcome to Anya Teaches English.

My name is Anya and today, we will be learning two very useful English expressions.

The first one is...'Are you up for it?'.

That's 'to be up for something'.

And the second one is...'Do you fancy it?' so that's 'to fancy something'.

Both of these expressions are informal and they're very similar in meaning.

To be up for something means that you want to do it and you can do it; you're able to

do it.

This expression can be used both in British and American English.

The rules for this expression is that it must be followed by either a NOUN or VERB-ING.SO

let me give you an example.

I can ask you..."Are you up for some pizza tonight?".

It means do you want to eat pizza tonight.

Another way to ask the same question is..."Are you up for ordering or eating pizza tonight?".

Notice I said orderING pizza.

I CANNOT say "Are you up for order pizza?".

That would be wrong!

Another example.."Are you up for chess tonight?" or..."Are you up for playing some chess?".

So, how can we answer this question?

If your answer is a YES, you can say..."Yeah!

I'm WELL up for that!".

In British slang, the word 'well' means very or really.

So if you say, "I'm well up for that!" it means that you can do it and you really want

to do it!

And if your answer is NO, you can say, "Nah, I'm not really up for that".

And you might add something like, "I'd prefer to eat a salad instead", or, "Nah, I'm not

really up for playing chess.

I'd prefer to watch TV instead.".

Now on to 'fancy'.

The word fancy is definitely more British English than American English.

You won't hear it said very much by people in the States, only really in the U.K.

So...if you remember my previous video about phrasal verbs for Valentine's Day (I'll put

a link up here somewhere!), you'll remember that we can say 'to fancy someone'.

To fancy someone means you like them in a romantic way.

But we can also fancy someTHING.

When you fancy someTHING, it means you WANT it!

Something I promise you will hear in almost every British home across the U.K is the question..."D'ya

fancy a cuppa tea?".

I'll say that bit slower.."Do you fancy a cup of tea?"..."D'ya fancy a cuppa tea?".

We usually say it quite quickly.

And that simply means "Do you want a cup of tea?".

We do like to drink tea here in the U.K!

With this word, 'fancy', the same rules apply here as before.

So after this word, you will need to use either a noun or the verb-ing form.

So, let me give you a few example sentences and questions.

Number one: I don't really fancy going out tonight, I'd rather stay at home".

Number two: Do you fancy watching a movie later?

Number three: Do you fancy chicken or fish for dinner tonight?

And number four: Hmm, I quite fancy going for a walk later today!

So that's it for today.

If you FANCY learning some more useful English expressions like that, you can book a class

with me at anyateachesenglish.com ;) I also offer a 20-minute trial class for just

£2 and I'll put that link in the description for you.

What I want YOU to do now is, in the comment, let me know what you're up for doing today

and what you DON'T fancy doing.

I look forward to reading those and remember to 'like', comment, subscribe, and share this

video and I look forward to seeing you all next week!

Until then...buh bye!

Quantum Logic Exposes the Illusory "Boundaries" of Reality - Duration: 7:13.

Quantum Logic Exposes the Illusory Boundaries of Reality

By consciousreminder

Within the ever broadening field of quantum mechanics, comes a new revelation: There are

no boundaries!

Enjoying lunch with friends, our conversation turned to the limitations of arbitrary lines

of demarcation. We have boundaries for geography, race, genders, age, politics, and religion

that seem real to us when were closely involvedbut as soon as we get some distance,

its harder to explain why we need all of them.

While these lines may seem benign, they can contribute to serious problems. One of my

friends explained how shed conducted a search for an African American computer engineer

employee a few years ago. Shed thought finding a black programmer would be fairly

straightforward, and was surprised to discover that was not the case. When she finally found

and hired a young black man, she asked him why he thought there were so few blacks involved

in Information Technology. He replied that African Americans, just dont have the

required skills. While this young man clearly believed this to be true, my friends and I

were aghast at how such a thing could be. Even if young African Americans are not provided

with requisite skills to be accepted to college computer science programswhat belief system

is contributing to this situation? At some point there must be an artificial line of

demarcationsome point where those fit to learn computer programming skills may proceed

onward and upward, and all considered to be unfit may not.

Why do we feel such a burning need to draw these boundariesthese artificial lines

of demarcation? One of my friends pointed out that we could, as John Lennon invites

us to do in the lyrics in his song, Imagine, simply choose to walk through those imaginary

boundariesyet the reason most people dont do just that has to do with a fear of losing

control. He summed it up as,

We set boundaries because of a need for control.

All of this was on my mind when I received an email from a thoughtful reader, who wrote:

While QM (Quantum Mechanics) itself gives many observable examples of the fluidity and

variability of our realities what is being developed as quantum computing does not. Thats

because it has been developed in a put new wine in old bottles fashion. It uses

binary as base. So in classical computing a bit can be in one of two states 0 OR 1.

A qubit can be in one of three states 0 OR 1 OR (0 and 1) the state of superposition.

Of course computers have to be practical so such an approach, limited though it may be,

makes sense.

Its like the cat in the box. The example was given using only alive and dead. But in

actuality a superposition can be and usually is more (alive|dead|male|female|tabby|calico|etc)

Superposition is the confluence of two or more seemingly discrete states. But our thinking

at the moment is strongly binary. Hence our creation of digital as being the foundation

for our current approach to computing.

I replied to this email stating I agreed that a bias exists toward viewing the world with

a bias toward binary / classical operations. I love the example of Schrodingers cat

not simply being alive or dead (which is essentially a throwback to binary either/or classical

thinking), but rather alive, sickly, pregnant, old, young, dead, etc. The way quantum

logic was initially described indeed contains classical binary bias, with its von

Neumann cut being an imaginary line by which one supposedly can determine whether

to employ Classical or Quantum physics equations.

But what if this arbitrary line of demarcation is just as artificial and man-made as all

of our other artificially constructed boundary lines? What if the scientists seeking a Theory

of Everything (TOE) one day prove the physical world is ruled by quantum physics laws and

equations, and classical physics is just a limited, special case? As far out as that

may seem, a growing number of scientists are writing research papers and proposing theories

stating just that.

Classical logic is a special case (subset) of quantum logic. Illustration from Cynthia

Sue Larsons paper, Primacy of Quantum Logic in the Natural World.

In my paper Primacy of Quantum Logic in the Natural World, I pointed out that we need

true quantum logic, and not classical Boolean logic approaches that cant ever get to

the heart of quantum logic and phenomena. As I explain in my paper, quantum logic and

phenomena is the larger set within which classical physics and logic reside, and not the other

way around. We thus must pay better attention to the natural world in order to learn to

recognize the natural order of quantum logic all around us, including occasional evidence

of reality shifts and quantum jumps demonstrating Evidence of Macroscopic Quantum Phenomena.

Quantum computing represents the beginning of a new form of technology, indicating were

entering the Quantum Age. In order to build quantum computers, we require quantum phenomena

occurring on a macroscopic scale, as well as a true understanding of quantum logic.

Thanks to the work of researchers in the fields of quantum biology, quantum cognition, and

quantum cosmologysuch as Johnjoe McFadden, Jerome Busemeyer, and Yasunori Nomura who

Ive interviewed in my blog and my Living the Quantum Dream radio showwe can now

start to recognize that Nature is already utilizing quantum logic. The photosynthesis

of plants has been proven to be a quantum process happening in a warm, wet, noisy

biological environment where such things werent supposed to happen, yet clearly they are.

And fortunately for us, it increasingly seems more and more clear that rather than living

in a binary, limited, boundary-constricted worldthe natural world is likely much more

unrestricted, open, and quantum in every way.
