Youtube daily report Mar 9 2017

Hi this is Peter Stanley, welcome to my channel.

tonight I'm going to show how

I've been cloning

peppers using the AeroGarden

and also the Kratky method works for this too

but I'm going to demonstrate with the AeroGarden

so what I need is

grow sponge, you can use the AeroGarden

sponge, I use these Park Seed biodome sponges

they're just a lot cheaper and they seem to work better

snips for cutting the plant

you could also use a sharp razor blade

That's what a lot of people use.

These are pretty sharp.

got them at a grow store for two or three dollars

that's what the package looks like

and some regular scissors

for cutting the sponge

and this is the kind of basket that comes with the AeroGarden seed pod kits

you can also buy these separately

you can get a back of 50 for 15.00 give or take.

so the first thing I'm going to do is prepare my sponge

and do that by cutting it

half way and lengthwise

so there's a hole

in the very top

it doesn't go all the way through but kind of gives you a starting point to cut

also, before I start I want to say that I sanitized both of these with

vinegar and peroxide, and rinsed them off and dried them

so I don't spread anything to my plant

so all do is stick this in the center hole

and just cut it

so it spreads apart

so what I want to do is

when I get my cutting the way I want I'm just going to

spread this

lay it down in here

fold it back around

and stick it in here

well that's ready, I'm going to go ahead and

get my cutting

this is the plant that I'm cloning. It's a

it's called an Aji Painapple

and this is the f2

it's a cross created by D3 from thehotpepper.com

I'll put a link to his community crossing project in the description.

but it's a cross between an Aji Pineapple

and a Butch T Yellow Scorpion

It's growing really really fast

you can see the growth

characteristic is very similar to aji peppers

but also the leaves are more chinense looking

The fruits from the f1 were amazing.

I'm hoping the f2 is just as good.

What I look for is a little side shoot.

that's

kind of a younger, tender side shoot

that's not gotten all woody yet

and

probably this one back here

I think are also

generally called suckers. People pick them off

so I want to go with that guy

and I'm going to cut it at the

bottom, but I'm going to trim it again. I'll show you what I do with it.

Okay so I need to trim some of this foliage off.

these

You don't want a whole lot leaves, and you definitely

want any buds. If you see any buds pick them off.

and these bigger leaves I always cut them in half.

That's probably good, I could probably cut more.

and I want to

what I do is find a node

and I cut at a 45 degree angle

just below it

so I'll cut it right there

alright

and I'll go ahead and

spread this apart

just kind of fold that around like that

and now I just

drop it in the AeroGarden

so I'm going to

use this spot here

drop it in and let it go

and I'll check it every

probably it takes a few weeks to

root but

I'll start checking it in a few weeks

I've got three in here

that I've cloned. This one's actually grown quite a bit

this one, actually all of them have

see the roots on that

that was from a cutting

Once you see roots pop out then you know it worked.

some on that guy

see those

this one I could go ahead and transplant

You could also do this using the Kratky method.

Basically it's a non-circulating hydroponics

and

this particular one wasn't

from a cutting, it was a transplant

this is a White Devil's Tail

growing in here

Basically what you do is

if you're using the AeroGarden baskets they fit in these little

Ocean Spray bottles and anything that has a one and a half inch opening.

just like I put in the AeroGarden just drop it

in here with enough solution

that can wick up into the sponge

and just let it go. It's just a little longer

with the Kratky method but it works too

anyway

I hope you liked that

Thank you for watching

and please like, comment and subscribe.

Strumming Guitar and Changing Chords | Lesson #9 Beginner Guitar for Grownups - Duration: 9:45.

Strumming And Changing Chords 9

Hey there, how are you doing? Sore fingers yet? Well, welcome back. If youre here,

youre a trooper. Weve done the D chord, the Cadd9 chord and G chords now in this lesson

#9, were gonna add some strumming to it. And at the same time, youre gonna work on the

D, Cadd9 and G chords while youre doing the strumming. So to start off with, go ahead

and either grab a pick or you can use your fingers, thats very okay or even just your

thumb for straight down. Were gonna make the chordsand just do a simple strumming straight

down then Ill show you how to add (0:36) to it.

Start with the D chord, right. I put out my fingers down at ones. If you need one at a

time still thats great, just do it. And play the D chord, four times. Aim for four

strings and dont worry if you accidentally hit the fifth and sixth. Put your attention

right now in getting a good sound on the strings that youre hitting. Oh, that was five.

Four times then move over to the C add 9. Remember were aiming for getting those two

fingers over. Oh, Im sorry. First, put the pinky down now move those two fingers

over to the fifth string and fourth string four times, sounding good? Okay, its

okay. It sounds like this, itll get better.

Now to the G chord, were gonna move to second and first finger over again to the sixth and

fifth string thats the sixth and thats the fifth. So next, were moving to the

G chord. Move your first and second fingers over to the sixth string and the fifth string.

If you can, both at once. Its okay if you still need to do one at a time and then strum

all the strings. It makes a little adjustments but again just spend a few seconds on it,

dont worry about it. Do your best you can. And then you start over four in a D, four

on the Cadd9 and then four on the G.

So you might wanna stop just for a minute. This is really helpful just make the chords,

no strumming, just a couple of minutes and then move from one chord to the other, no

sound and then come back and try it with the strum again then stop, do it again and alternate

5 to 10 minutes.

Now were gonna add a little bit of groove to that. What I mean by that is were just

gonna be steady with our pulse. And you can play along with me. Were gonna go very slow

and Ill count it out. Start with a count of four and then were gonna strum each chord

four times, just straight down for now. Okay so make your D chord and get ready. Here we

go - 1 2 ready hit it, the D chord 1 2 3 think about that Cadd9 for now change. Ive left

a little pause between chords for now and were gonna tighten that up and thats four

G and back to the D four times. Good. How did you do? Ready to try it again? Same

thing.

This time, Im not gonna slow down between the chords. Its okay if you dont get

it but I want you to get the feel for it, its like you have to change right on time.

Best to start slow and then pick it up. Dont try to go too fast just pause because thatll

get to be a bad habit so lets go nice and slow and just try to keep up with me, here

we go 1 2 3 4 D four times, to the C. So I didnt pause there. I didnt slow down.

Here comes the G now that was right on the beat. Do it again, back to D okay thats

the end. Try now with me again, here we go start now, ready D 1 2 3 4 pinky down, move

1 2 3 4 then move, thats right on the beat and then back to D. Hey, how was that?

One little trick, did you notice I put my pinky down before I started changing? I anticipated

the change so I got ready. And putting the pinky down doesnt really hurt the sound.

Another trick is, sometimes when your changing, you can take all your fingers off and put

them back down. Even if theres a little gap between the change, its okay. Nobody

will notice that really if that is a small gap.

So now practice that by itself then add this simple strum. We talked about how to hold

the pick and the basic up and down motion. Now I want you to strum both down and up.

So its a good way to first warm up for that. Place your fingers over the guitar neck and

just start with the strum down down, up just to make this strumming sound. Dont worry

about the chord. You just get warmed up. So this is one beat and this is two beats so

its 1 and 2 and 3 and 4. If you need two chords, stop the tape and practice that a little bit

then do this with me. D chord. Ill count four. Were gonna go down and up on each

beat. Four beats but its gonna be a strum down up for each one so here we go 1 2 3 4

start D 1 and 2 and 3 and 4 and pinky down, change 1 and 2 and 3 and 4 and get ready to

change to D chord. Ill pause a little between chords to give you a chance and back to D.

Okay, that was one exercise.

Were gonna do it one more time and then Ill let you practice a little on your own.

Were gonna do it without pausing between chords so its a little harder and again its

okay if theres a little dead sound when your changing chords, not a problem. Start

with the D, here we go 1 and 2 and 3 and 4 and D 1 and 2 and 3 and 4 pinky down. Ive

changed right on the C - 3 and 4 and go to G then 2 and 3 and 4 and back to D now and

2 and 3 and 4. Lets do it again - 1 and 2 and 3 and watch for the pinky 4 and 1 and

2 and 3 and 4 and change 1 and 2 and 3 and 4 and back to D. Okay, good work. Good work

for hanging in there with me.

So of course, go ahead and practice this. Be patient a little each day works best. Come

on back were gonna do the next lesson which will Ill show you a little bit about fingerstyle

guitar and will keep it light but I want you to at least have an introduction to it in

case you want something to do. I look forward to seeing you in the next lesson. Bye for

now.

Is A Picture Worth A Thousand Words - Duration: 7:09.

Is A Picture Worth A Thousand Words

By Catherine J. Frompovich

The migrants were part of a wave of arrivals who came to Germany via the so-called Balkan

route.

Germany is facing a problem with refugees who apparently cant find housing, as the

tent city photograph above apparently depicts.

According to news reports out of Berlin, thousands of refugees have disappeared off the radar,

yet no one knows where they are.

Have they gone underground, as some think, waiting for instructions?

According to German prosecutor Irich Scherding, Fifteen to 20 percent of 18,000 refugees

are obviously submerged. Concern and fears grow that ISIS may be involved in controlling

the missing.

A boulevard in Paris, FranceRefugee crisis.

Source

The refugee crisis in European Union countries apparently is spilling over into geopolitical

ramifications insofar as EU member countries now are talking about leaving the EU.

The UKs taxpayers are finding out they will be left paying for student loans by EU

citizens, who studied in England but left the country without repaying those loans.

Whats the amount?

130 million or roughly U.S. $159,691,956 based upon the conversion rate when I wrote

this article.

Sweden has acquired a rather dubious title no one would envy.

Malmo, Sweden, is known as the rape capital of Europe. The BBC reports, According

to Eurostat, the agency that collects statistical data from all EU countries, in 2015 Sweden

had over 162,000 asylum applications or 1,667 asylum seekers for every 100,000 citizens.

A large majority of the 2015 asylum seekers 114,470 were male, 45,790 of them

between 18 and 34 years of age. [1] A majority of males between 18 and 34 years of agenot

families!

However, the following information needs to be factored into the Swedish problem:

The 2012 UN international rape rate comparison showed Sweden to have the highest rate of

rape in Europe and the second highest in the world, but the report did not contain data

for a total of 63 countries that did not submit any statistics, including, for example, South

Africa, where other earlier surveys indicated a very high rape rate.

[1]

Italy also has a refugee problem [2].

Greece, too, has a tremendous migrant/refugee problem.

According to the EU, there are approximately 60,000 migrants and refugees trapped in Greece!

[3] The EXPRESS reports:

Aid worker Nikos Gionakis says, But they are stranded in dire conditions, in camps

with little to no information about what will happen to them.

Generally, I can say people are not treated as humans.

The revelations come as EU foreign ministers meet in Brussels today to discuss how to prevent

a fresh influx of migrants crossing the Mediterranean to Italy from Libya.

Brussels wants to put an agreement in place with Tripoli similar to the one it sealed

with Turkey last year, under which economic migrants making the crossing to Europe are

returned back across the sea.

[3]

And yet, Americans dont read about these refugee stories in newspapers or see them

on the nightly news.

Why?

Here is some idea of the scope of immigrant problems facing countries:

Turkey, in 2016, had over 2.7 million Syrian refugees.

In January of 2016, 500,000 Syrians were in Saudi Arabia.

By the end of August 2014, 3 million Syrian refugees fled to Lebanon (1.14 million); Jordan

(608,000); and Turkey (815,000).

[4] Syrias population before the current conflict

and crisis was around 22 million.

Syrian and Palestinian Arabs made up approximately 74% of the population.

The Kurds made up approximately 9 to 10% of the population.

Syrian Turkmen, 4 to 5%.

Assyrians, 3 to 4%.

And the balance was made up of several minority ethnic groups.

Religions in 2006: Islam 87% of the population; Christian, 10%; and Druze, 3%.

[5] Wikipedias website Refugees of the Syrian

Civil War has a chart listing countries that have taken in Syrian refugees.

The Netherlands, however, is solving their refugee/immigrant crisis in a rather unique

mannerby housing migrants in closed correctional facilities [6].

One has to wonder when this global crisis of human suffering will end.

When will tyrants who break up countries for whatever geopolitical reasons realize that

humans are catching on to their game plan?

When will the one percent elites put their money where their mouths are to correct

this untenable human suffering some controlling interests apparently have contributed to?

We are grateful to the Washington Post, the New York Times, Time Magazine and other great

publications whose directors have attended our meetings and respected their promises

of discretion for almost forty years.

It would have been impossible for us to develop our plan for the world if we had been subjected

to the lights of publicity during those years.

But, the world is more sophisticated and prepared to march towards a world government.

The supranational sovereignty of an intellectual elite and world bankers is surely preferable

to the national autodetermination practiced in past centuries.
