Youtube daily report Sep 22 2018

Hi this is Tutor Nick P and this is Verb Phrase 66. The verb phrase today is

to talk someone out of something. Okay. Let's take a look at the note here. If

someone talks another person out of something, he or she tries to persuade

them why they shouldn't do it. Okay. Let's take a look at the first example here. I

tried to talk her out of opening a new restaurant by showing her the statistics

that 59% of new restaurants fail within three years. Okay. Yeah. They're always

talking about it's such a high percentage of restaurants are always going

out that you should be careful if you're really thinking about opening a

restaurant. Okay. Let's take a look at example number two here. Jill couldn't

talk her son out of joining the Marines. No matter how hard she tried. She is

going to be worried to death when they send him overseas. Okay. Good. It's a good

example. All right. also not only can you try to talk somebody out of something

you could try to talk oneself out of something. So you could try to talk

yourself out of something, not to do something, and of course, this of course,

it means try to convince yourself not to do something. All right. So let's look at

just one example of this. I was planning on buying that house but I talked myself

out of it. After I did research and realize housing prices are probably at

peak levels right now. So it may not be the best time to buy. You might buy when

it's really, really high and then you know we may possibly have a fall and it

may take years before it gets back to the same level. So in this particular

case it would be better, better to wait. So sometimes you could talk yourself out

of doing something by, you know, by looking or researching or whatever. Or

maybe you're worried something. You talk yourself out of it.

Okay. Anyway, I hope it's clear. I hope you got it. Thank you for your time.

Bye-bye.

Delta II's Final Flash & Japan's Space Elevator || kNews W.37/2018 - Duration: 6:37.

Delta II launches one last time and Japan brings a space elevator to the ISS.

Okay, that one is maybe a little clickbaity but it's real.

It's just that it's, well, tiny.

It's still important and I tell you why now on kNews.

Hey guys Lukas here, welcome to kNews for week 37/2018 and as always a big shout out

to my kNews boosters on Patreon.

If you like what I do you can help me over at funding.kNews.space.

Thanks for your thrust!

This week began with a delayed Falcon 9 launch which I covered in the last episode already

but I'll link you the replay in case you missed it.

Japan's H-IIB is next on September 13th from Tanegashima.

Wait, it got delayed and a new date is not set yet.

Sure is it will head to the ISS so it will follow the ISS orbit which is inclined at

51.6° degrees.

Up top is Japan's cargo spaceship Kounotori or HTV which will re-supply the ISS with just

over 6 metric tons of cool stuff.

There are for example fresh batteries, scientific hardware, cubesats and of course yummy food

for the astronauts.

What stands out to me the most though are two things.

One, it will carry a small capsule which will demonstrate a reentry and parachute landing

so that HTV will be also able to bring cargo back to earth safely similar to SpaceX Dragon

in the future.

And two, among those cubesats is one that will test a tiny space elevator called the

Space Tethered Autonomous Robotic Satellite or STARS for short.

The experiment involves two cubesats that will stretch out a string between them, along

which a small climber will drive from one side to the other.

The most popular of space elevators is of course the one connecting earth to space but

there are also many other uses in space only.

You could for example connect two sides of a spinning station or mount a satellite to

an asteroid using a harpoon.

The satellite could stay in contact with earth while a small climber would collect valuable

samples from the surface.

Tethers are incredibly useful and especially Japan uses them more and more often.

They for example also deployed a 700m long cable to deorbit their rocket's upper stage

using the earth's magnetic field.

They basically run a very weak current from the stage to a small counter weight that generates

a magnetic field along the cable.

Now because the counter weight is in another orbit than the stage itself the tether stays

stretched while it experiences a weak force that slows both vehicles down until they reenter.

That's an incredibly interesting solution I must say but I'm not 100% sure if they

use it on every rocket or if this was a so far one of a kind test on a previous mission.

Konichiwa my Japanese friends, feel free to share more information about that in the comments!

But next to launch on my list is India's PSLV on September 16th from the Satish Dhawan

Space Center.

A Polar Satellite Launch Vehicle will as usual fly South towards a 580 km high sun synchronous

polar orbit.

Up top the 4 staged rocket are two primary satellites, one for the United Kingdom's

Space Agency and another for the company Surrey Satellite Technology.

SSTL-1 here on the left uses a telescope to make pictures of the ground and the on on

the right is NovaSAR-S. SAR stands for Synthetic Aperture Radar which is itself also short

for Radio Detection and Ranging.

Acroception right there.

I talked about this in a past video already, what such a synthetic aperture does is to

simulate a bigger antenna than it actually has, by recording the reflected radio wave

over a longer period of time.

This is particularly suited for satellites that orbit earth really closely and fast.

The advantage of a bigger antenna is a higher resolution ground.

You can think of it as a bigger telescope lens that can zoom in further only with radio

waves instead of light.

Small ground features simply have a smaller radio footprint and the bigger the antenna

the more sensitive it gets.

Next to the primary payload PSLV will also carry some secondary cubesats one called Centauri-1

for the Australia based company fleet space.

Their goal is to build a small cubesat fleet to enable cheap low bandwidth connectivity

of ground sensors distributed all around the globe.

So this is right for you if you don't need 24/7 connectivity but instead can wait a day

or so for the satellite to fly by your sensor's location again to then upload a couple bytes

worth of data to it.

The data will then get send back to a ground station once it passes over it.

And the final rocket launch I want to cover this week is of course the last Delta II launch

ever on September 15th by the United Launch Alliance from Vandenberg.

Target is a usual launching from the US west coast a polar orbit.

Up top is ICESat 2 which is of course an acronym.

It stands for Ice, Cloud and Land Elevation Satellite 2 and is going to map and track

the global elevation using a LIDAR or Light Detection and Ranging which is essentially

a RADAR using light instead of radio waves.

This is especially important to track the ice coverage on the south pole.

While the north pole swims and doesn't affect ocean levels when melting, the south pole

is supported by a giant continent the Antarctic.

As the ice melts it actually spreads out into the sea and actually looks bigger from up

top so it is incredibly important to also track the overall elevation.

A bigger white surface reflects more light back to space so there could be some kind

of self-regulating effect where melting ice would lead to cooler temperatures and more

ice again.

In order to really figure this all out we need more data and thus more satellites and

other experiments.

As mentioned in my clickbait title this was Delta II's final take off and I really hope

you were able to watch it.

If not I will as always link you the replay in the video description.

I have to end this particular episode a little sooner than because there are some news on

the SpaceX front and I will work on a quick video for Monday about that.

Stay tuned!

If you want to support me and my channel to become a self sustaining colony on YouTube

please consider contributing to my Patreon campaign.

Every dollar helps, thanks!

Okay, that shall conclude this video and I hope to see you in the next one if you like.

Auf Wiedersehen and thank you for watching!

Tumeric Essential Oil | Bennefits of Tumeric Oil - Duration: 5:11.

today we're going to talk about one of the new oils tumeric oil this oil is a

fantastic oil and tumeric is not new although it seems to be all the rage

right now it's been around for about 4000 years it has been a part of

traditional art aruveydic medicine it is known for a whole variety of

reason anti-inflammatory anti-parasitic anti anti allergic antibacterial

antimicrobial it has been known to warm and strengthen the body and

traditionally you think of it an Indian curries but that's where it gets that

really strong yellow color the curry or a lot of curry yellow curry for that

reason it's also historically been used as a dye so the botanical name

curcuma longa is actually the steam distillation of the rhizome of the plant

and although the essential oil and most of the medicinal parts come from the

rhizome our roots in the plant will arise on one intruder difference but

with the underground portion of the plant all the parts of the plant are

edible which is interesting in fact I'd be carries what the others tasted like

first thing about this oil one of the key things about this oil is that you're

looking for two different compounds tumorous and the Kirk humans and they're

different compounds extracted they don't do nearly the same thing as they do if

they are extracted together and tumeric has them together which is like a huge

bonus so the other thing is if you use a co2 extraction which is what a lot of

supplements that are marketed you will get inconsistent results with the

volatile aromatic compounds and so when you get inconsistent results or you get

some of the compounds but not all of them more of this one and less of this

one when you get those Incans since these in the extraction you get in

consistencies in the results so steam distillation is the way to go with this

with this particular essential oil in a 2013 study which I'll link below

curcumin and tumor ins tumor owns were together proven to have anti-cancer

qualities in colon cancer of animals which is great many people say that

tumeric essential oil is one of the most promising oils when it comes to anti

cancer relief or potential relief but obviously it's still very early in

studies for that so there's no I can't make that claim yet all I can tell you

is what the study is so far have shown what does it do for you boost your

immune system improves your liver function it's anti-inflammatory which I

think in from inflammation is rampant I feel like almost everyone has some sort

of inflammation these days so this is a great little for that it can help

balance out feelings of anxious or depressed feelings so it can help those

feelings return to normal it's also a digestive aid how do you use it it does

not smell good it actually smells terrible I would not want to diffuse

this or smell it for fun so I don't know all of the other literature says like

diffuse it in the air to promote upbeat feelings and I'm thinking all I'm gonna

get is very irritated if I have to smell tumeric in the air I think the way that

I'm going to use it is to properly dilute it if you haven't watched my

video on dilution watch it up there so properly dilute it in a rollerball and I

to the bottom of my feet before I put on socks either at night or in the day

because at least then my socks will hide some of the scent in fact that's what I

do with oregano oil when I feel like I need to apply right in a hotel - but I

like the smell of oregano I just don't want to smell like an Italian restaurant

tumeric oil it's it's not even an enjoyable smell at all in fact I don't

know if I've ever smelled an oil that smells this terrible it's terrible

isn't it crazy that the worst smelling oil has maybe the biggest medicinal

promise let me know in the comments below how you think it smells I'm really

curious so make sure you don't use it if you're pregnant or nursing that's it -

miracle oil thanks for watching so much don't forget

to subscribe leave me a comment below what do you think about the oil and I'll

see you in the next video

Welcome to "In the air tonight" - Duration: 1:01.

Welcome to my channel!

Allow me to introduce myself.

You can call me Thay.

I'm an old artistic gangster who draws for hobby.

I am free as the wind, and I draw everything that I fancy.

My subjects range from fluffy shonen ai to pure depravity and pretty much everything

in between the two extremes.

I am selftaught; I've spent almost all my life drawing and I haven't taken any courses

to learn what I know.

My main materials for working are mainly digital tools, since I'm comfortable with them.

Here you will find speedpaints and occasional vlogs.

Notice I am not Leonardo Da Vinci, nor I think my art is perfect.

However, I'm just having fun sharing it through youtube as well.

I hope you enjoy your stay.

What is AUSLAN? - International Day of Sign Language - Duration: 3:57.

JACK: Just like Bianca and Bradley,

there are thousands of Aussies affected by hearing loss

who use Auslan every day.

Auslan stands for Australian Sign Language.

It uses hand and body movements, as well as facial expressions,

to make up different words and different phrases.

Oh, and you might have already guessed,

it's unique to Australia.

Yep.

Just like spoken languages,

sign languages differ from country to country,

and they've actually been around for thousands of years.

Auslan is a mix of Irish and British sign languages

that were brought here in the early 1800s.

Over the years, it was adapted and changed,

and about 20 years ago, the first Auslan dictionary was published,

and it was recognised as an official language.

"Son."

"Grandfather."

Just like any other language,

picking it up takes a lot of time and practice,

but these guys say it's an awesome skill to learn.

GIRL 1: Feel good today? GIRL 2: Yeah.

Today it's even taught in some schools around Australia

as a second language.

You say, "How old are you?"

That's how we do it.

Community groups reckon it's really great

that more people are picking it up,

because it means they can communicate with people

who are deaf or hearing impaired.

Even Santa is giving it a go.

INTERPRETER: Yeah, there's definitely a huge benefit,

so they can still help a deaf person participate

in their community in everyday life.

Like you were saying, going to a grocery store

and being able to have basic communication and basic conversation

is a huge thing for them.

And here are some phrases you can start practising right now.

Las Vegas Strip - Duration: 9:55.

Welcome to Las Vegas

Activate subtitles for your language

What's up friends. Here again Raúl.

Only now I'm in Las Vegas

My friends went to the casinos to play.

For me it is very early.

Let's walk around here

This is one of the two most famous streets from Las Vegas

Las Vegas Boulevard

It is better known as Las Vegas strip.

Come with me to walk around here and let's go to talk for a while.

Where is that copy of the Statue of Liberty

That's the New York New York casino and hotel.

That casino and the Circus Circus have the best entertainment for children.

In Las Vegas most entertainment It is for adults.

If you have children, the New York New Hotel York and the Circus Circus hotel are the best for you.

Let me tell you something

In comparison of Los Angeles here the weather It is much hotter.

Here is a desert region

This is a good excuse for girls

They walk in the street with very short shorts and very short skirts.

Here all the hotels have pools.

The girls are wearing bikinis in the hotel and the street.

I'm telling you so you do not get scared if you come here.

You are going to look at the girls in bikini down the street

This is how it is here in Las Vegas.

American girls are very liberal

Many people do not know this that I'm going to say

Where I started walking is not Las Vegas. That It is the city of Paradise.

Look how I already told you.

Girls in bikini on the street

If you are very sanctimonious. Do not panic.

This is true in Las Vegas.

What was I saying?

I started walking in the city of Paradise.

I'm walking on Las Vegas Boulevard.

Where does the city of Paradise end? and Where does the city of Las Vegas begin?

I do not know. I'm probably already walking in the city of Las Vegas.

The people that we live in Los Angeles have a big advantage.

Just a few hours driving we arrived at a of the most fun cities in the world.

The city of Las Vegas is known with several names

Sin City

The capital of second chances.

The capital of world entertainment.

Those are some of the names of Las Vegas.

Las Vegas has two very famous streets.

Fremont Street is in downtown Las Vegas.

I'm going there at night.

This is the other famous street. Las Vegas Boulevard

Better known as Las Vegas Strip.

In these two streets is very common people with costumes.

This is the case in many tourist places.

You can take a picture with them and you give them tip

There is the hotel Aria

That hotel has huge and beautiful screens.

There's the Harley Davidson coffee.

That coffee has a huge motorcycle in front of it.

Let me see where I am.

There's the Cosmopolitan hotel and casino.

There are my friends playing in the casino.

Right now I'm not going to enter that place.

I want to keep walking on the Vegas strip.

Yes I will enter some casinos to record video.

I want to walk to the Circus Circus hotel.

There I can see the Paris hotel.

At the Paris hotel the buffet is super delicious.

There is that huge balloon.

Here in Las Vegas many hotels have shows free.

Most have good shows that They charge.

The Bellagio Hotel has that free show the dancing fountain.

Sometimes the show is every 30 minutes or it is every hour.

Let me tell you a little more about Las Vegas.

The games of chance have existed for a long time behind.

Here gambling was legalized in 1931.

The games were legalized in old Vegas

Fremont Street is in downtown Las Vegas.

There I will go in the night.

That place is also known as old Vegas.

I'm going to tell you something about the Flamingo hotel.

In the 40s.

Supposedly this hotel was financed by a gangster from the east coast.

What was his name?

Bugsy Siegel

Benjamin "Bugsy" Siegel

I'm going to enter the Cesar Palace hotel.

I hope to record a show they do there Inside the hotel.

It's a show of some statues that move

I saw that show many years ago.

I do not remember that show very well

That hotel is very big.

Some things we have planned.

We want to do a lot in a few days.

We are going to do what we can

Coming here was something suddenly

I want to take this moment and have fun.

Night has already fallen.

I already arrived at the Circus Circus hotel.

This is a bit weird.

This is one of the most familiar casino hotels.

Here in front of the hotel there are many magazines of escort girls

You can call them by phone to accompany you.

This is one of the most familiar hotels.

That is why it is known as the Sin City.

I'm already in the slot machines, and I'm already winning.

How much do I earn? $ 32

Something is better than nothing.
