THE LAWSUIT OF JAMES G. OF 22. MARCH 2017 - THE JOURNEY TO THE CRADLE OF ROCK AND BACK

[JAMES G. - under suspicion of guitar possession] In the beginning was the word.

And the word became a guitar and it got into my hands.

But seriously:

My fascination with the guitar started when I was five.

Then, for the first time, I saw recordings and music videos of different bands

and I wanted to be like them.

I wanted to play the guitar and make music.

Then my fascination began

which evolved from ligher sound

to heavy one.

Once, I wanted to be like the Beatles.

I wanted to play and sing

and of course make music similar to their ..

Now it seems funny,

but still, of course, I respect the music they created.

After some time, however, something has been missing in this sound.

I was looking for music, in which there would be more guitar.

And so I found an information about Jimmy Hendrix.

I've just been fascinated

and charmed with his way of playing.

I wanted to play so wild and to use such techniques.

I even tried to play with my teeth,

although to this day I fail to.

After all, the wildness of playing remains,

although I miss this dynamic of master Jimmy.

For some time I abandoned playing guitar.

I wanted more to take up singing,

but I didn't part with the music.

Playing guitar didn't come well to me

and therefore I left it for some time,

playing only occasionally.

Then I discovered the band Kiss.

Their energy really appealed to me.

Did I want to be like them?

Probably not, but the strength that was in this music helped me.

Again, it was something I was looking for

and they had it.

Age 13-14.

You slowly begin to think

you understand the world and a revolt began.

Hence, my fascination with punk

and everything associated with it began.

I bought bovver boots, and I slowly began to return to the guitar,

creating punk riffs and lyrics.

I wanted to show I don't agree with this world,

that I hate the way it is:

broken and full of evil.

Punk was supposed to make it easier.

Especially I liked polish bands.

The band Siekiera from Puławy has been a role model for me.

They had something

that was rejecting and also attracting me.

And so I stayed with their music for longer,

although I still didn't have an electric guitar

and I was playing their riffs on acoustic one.

At the age of 15, I bought my first electric guitar.

It was an Ibanez RG guitar.

I was looking for it for a long time.

Honestly speaking, before I found proper one

a few months had passed.

Finally I saw it in the store

and I knew I had to have it.

Then Korn, Nirvana and Alice in Chains

appeared in my live.

This music consumed me for good.

I saw something more in it,

each piece was different.

In the majority they was moving away from their predecessors

and experimenting they created something,

that was the highest art for me.

I began to live with the music of Korn

and I wanted to become similar to musicians of this band.

By the way my Ibanez came from it

- I wanted to be like them.

Later I discovered Alice in Chains

and this band changed my view on music

probably forever.

It all shaped me over the years,

and what will happen later, we'll see.

Thanks for watching. Bye.

Video: We experience many firsts driving the Ferrari-fast Tesla Model X - Duration: 2:20.

This is the quickest SUV in the world.

The first all-electric SUV and the first

car of any kind with doors that open

like this. It's a Tesla Model X P100D.

It's also one of the most expensive SUVs

in the world. Prices start at $146,000 and this

fully loaded one costs more than $200,000.

That's approaching Bentley money. So what

does that get you? An all-electric,

all-wheel-drive, seven-seat SUV with 465

kilometers of range. Consider it the

practical, family-friendly Tesla, I mean

to a point. With Ludicrous mode - yes

Ludicrous mode - you accelerate to 100 km/h in 3.1 seconds.

That's not quick for an SUV. That's Ferrari

quick, supercar quick. The Ferrari 488

does the same dash in three seconds, but

the Tesla does it without making a peep.

You experience many firsts driving the

Model X. The driver's door automatically

pops open when you walk up to it. Soon

you'll hear one percenters saying 'no

heavens I haven't touched a door in

years'. Another first, this ginormous

windscreen that makes you feel like

you're driving inside a bubble and those

doors - Tesla calls them Falcon wings -

but come on, it's a novelty, a party trick,

a way for your kids to make the ultimate

entrance on the first day of school.

Complaints? Not too many. The range is

pretty close to the quoted number and

okay the cabin isn't as fancy as on

other $200,000 cars

and the ride isn't as smooth as on the

equivalent Mercedes or BMW. And that

price, you can almost buy two Range

Rovers. still the Model X is an

experience more so than any other SUV or

any other car for that matter. And it

burns zero gasoline, which is good for

all of us. But if cost is an issue then

you can wait until other SUVs come out next year.

Is St. Peter the Rock on which Jesus built his Church? Jimmy Akin - Duration: 10:13.

Is St. Peter the Rock on which Jesus built his Church?

A Chat with Jimmy Akin

One of the most controversial passages in the Bible is Matthew 16:18, where Jesus tells Peter,

"You are Peter, and on this rock I will build my Church."

Catholics see this passage as evidence that Jesus made Peter the first pope.

Many Evangelicals look at it as just the opposite.

Who is right?

It's an interesting question, and I've been on both sides of the question.

In fact, this passage played a pivotal role in my conversion to the Catholic Church.

You may think you've heard all the arguments about whether Peter is the rock,

but I'm going to show you the one that convinced me,

and you probably haven't heard it anywhere else...

The Basic Argument A common claim in Protestant apologetics is that in Matthew 16:18,

Jesus is actually contrasting St. Peter with the rock on which he will build his Church.

The argument is based on the fact that in Greek the word for Peter is petros,

while the word used for "rock" here is petra.

It is often claimed that these words meant two different things--that petrosámeant a

small stone or a pebble, while petraámeant a large rock.

The idea is that Jesus is contrasting Peter--a tiny,

insignificant stone--with the great rock on which he will build his Church,

which is often said not to be Peter but Peter's faith.

How well does this argument work?

In the Expositor's Bible Commentary, the esteemed Evangelical Bible scholar D. A. Carson

writes on this passage:

Although it is true that petrosáand petraácan mean "stone" and "rock"

respectively in earlier Greek,

the distinction is largely confined to poetry.

Moreover the underlying Aramaic in this case is unquestionable;

and most probably kephaáwas used in both clauses ("you are kephaáand on this kepha"),

since the word was used both for a name and for "rock."

The Peshitta (written in Syriac, a language cognate with Aramaic)

makes no distinction between the words in the two clauses.

The Greek makes the distinction between petrosáand petraásimply

because it is trying to preserve the pun,

and in Greek the feminine petraácould not very well serve as a masculine name.

So the argument that petrosáand petraáhave

different meanings in this passage is actually quite weak.

But for the sake of argument, let's suppose that they did.

Would this mean that Peter isn't the rock?

The argument that he isn't is based on the fact that there is a clear parallelism between

Peter and the rock in this passage,

and it assumes a particular kind of parallelism--one that contrastsáPeter with the rock.

This is sometimes called antitheticáparallelism. But that isn't the only kind of parallelism there is.

The Bible often uses another form, known as synthetic parallelism.

In synthetic parallelism,

the second item mentioned builds on or amplifies the meaning of the first.

If that's what's happening in this passage--even

if we grant that petrosámeans a small stone and petraámeans a large rock--then it does

not follow that Peter and the rock are two different things.

Instead, Jesus would be saying something like, "Although you may seem to be a small stone, Peter,

on the large rock that you really are, I will build my Church."

In this caseápetraáor large rock would bring out the actual significance

of the small stone that Peter appears to be.

But there are even more decisive arguments,

and you don't have to speak Greek or Aramaic to understand them . . .

A key moment in my own conversion occurred one day when I was reading a book,

and it had an extended quotation from Matthew 16.

I suddenly realized that there was a structural

feature in the text that pointed to Peter being the rock.

Soon afterward, I noticed additional features that indicated the same thing.

I realized that these were far stronger indicators than the arguments I had previously taken

for granted regarding the alleged difference in meaning between petrosáand petra, and

I had to change my view. Here is what I discovered . . .

If we back up a few verses, we find Jesus asking the disciples a question:

[13]áNow when Jesus came into the district of Caesare'a Philip'pi,

he asked his disciples, "Who do men say that the Son of man is?"

[14] And they said, "Some say John the Baptist,

others say Eli'jah, and others Jeremiah or one of the prophets."

[15] He said to them, "But who do you say that I am?"

[16] Simon Peter replied, "You are the Christ, the Son of the living God."

That's the correct answer, and Jesus says three things to Peter in reply:

[17] And Jesus answered him, "Blessed are you, Simon Bar-Jona! For flesh and

blood has not revealed this to you, but my Father who is in heaven.

[18] And I tell you, you are Peter, and on this rock I will build my church,

and the gates of hades shall not prevail against it.

[19] I will give you the keys of the kingdom of heaven,

and whatever you bind on earth shall be bound in heaven,

and whatever you loose on earth shall be loosed in heaven."

What I noticed was that there are structural

features in Jesus' three statements to Peter that indicate he is the rock.

One thing I noticed is that the statements immediately before and after

the "You are Peter" passage are both blessings.

First, Jesus says "Blessed are you, SimonBar-Jona!"

That is clearly a blessing. Then he says, "You are Peter."

And finally he says, "I will give you the keys to the kingdom of heaven."

That also is clearly a blessing.

So "You are Peter" is sandwiched between two blessings.

The passage unambiguously stresses the blessedness of St. Peter.

That argues against the idea that Jesus is belittling Peter in this passage.

It would be like Jesus saying, "Blessed are you, Simon Bar-Jona! . . .

You insignificant pebble. . . .

Here are the keys to the kingdom of God!"

I also noticed that each of Jesus' three statements to St. Peter has a two-part explanation attached to it.

The first statement, "Blessed are you, Simon Bar-Jona!"

is explained by "For flesh and blood has not revealed this to you,"

which is then further explained by "but my Father who is in heaven."

These are whyáPeter is blessed. He didn't learn of Jesus' identity from man.

It was revealed to him by the Father.

The third statement,á"I will give you the keys of the kingdom of heaven,"

isáexplainedáby "and whatever you bind on earth shall be bound in heaven,"

which is then further explained by

"and whatever you loose on earth shall be loosed in heaven."

These are part of what it meansáfor Peter to have the keys of the kingdom.

He is able to bind things with authority from God,

and he is able to loose things with authority from God.

So when it turns out that the second, or middle statement alsoáhas the same structure,

then we need to read it in the same way.

The statement "you are Peter," is explained by "and on this rock I will build my church,"

which is further explained by

"and the gates of hades shall not prevail against it." So that is what it meansáfor him to be Peter:

Jesus will build his Church on him, and the gates of hadesáwill not prevail against it.

When I realized these things, I realized that Peter had to be the rock Jesus was talking about.

And that was a pivotal moment in my journey with God.

Because if Peter is the rock on which Jesus builds his Church, that means that Peter is the chief apostle,

the chief shepherd of Christ's flock. And that means that, once Jesus has ascended to heaven,

Peter is the earthly head of the Church.

That's a good description of the office of the pope.

And so, when I realized these things, I concluded that I had to reconsider matters.

I had to review my beliefs with an open mind toward whether the Catholic Church was right after all.

In the end, I concluded that it is, and so I became Catholic.

In the years since, my conviction has only strengthened as I have learned more

about Catholic teaching and its basis in the Bible, including the role of the pope.

CHALLENGE | Inktober #01 : Cinderella (Cendrillon) - Duration: 4:20.

Hello there, I'm Dreamy. This is a new collection of videos about the Inktober Challenge.

I don't know if you are familiar with this challenge, it happens every year in October. It's pretty famous.

I know, I know, we are not in October anymore... But drawing and filming and editing take time.

This challenge is about drawing each day something using only ink. That's why it's all black and white.

I chose a theme : fairy tales. Everyday a different story.

But as you can see, I didn't make it to the 31... I lacked of time T_T

This was the first time I had ever done this challenge and I knew I had to find time and inspiration every day...

but I also wanted to have fun, I didn't wanted to feel I HAD to do this.

So I drew less...

I chose stories I liked or that were inspirational to me.

I "only" made 12 drawings but I was still proud.

I'd rather do 12 beautiful drawings than 31 average.

To begin with this collection, here is Cinderella !

You know her... In fact, I only chose well known fairy tales.

It's even more fun because you can really do something personal.

There is an official list of themes by Jake Parker (the guy who created this challenge).

Everyday he would propose one word but I really wasn't inspired by that...

So I picked this non official list that was made by a friend of mine named Coda Leia (cheers to her !).

So for Cinderella, I wondered which version to draw : the poor maid or the fancy princess.

I went with the princess getting ready and I wanted to empathize on the glass slipper.

(By the way, don't you think this is really odd, a slipper made of glass ??)

I drew her putting her shoes on, but instead of drawing a glamorous pose...

I thought, well this is the very first time she is wearing high heels shoes, must be tough !

(When I think about myself wearing that >_< )

That poor girl lived in misery her whole life ! How can she wear that ??

So I drew her on the floor.

Because it is more confortable you see^^

And that's why she is a bit upset... She knows she will have a hard time.

Hey you have to suffer to be beautiful !

Last detail : the tools I used.

I used Copic Multiliner pen, it's black pigment ink. Sizes 0.1 and 0.3.

It's pretty thin but that's what I wanted, something delicate.

Voila, hope you liked this first video ! I will upload the other 11 one by one so stay tuned !

(Take a look at the end of this video to pick another video).

That was Cinderella for Inktober Challenge 2016. See you ^_^

Honeydew Facts in the Creamy Honeydew Kiwi Smoothie Recipe - Duration: 5:19.

hey everybody~ welcome! today, we are

making the Creamy Honeydew Kiwi smoothie

I'm Jenna the founder of Greenblender and

welcome to our video series!

What is Greenblender you ask? Well

Greenblender's a smoothie delivery service

we send all the pre-portioned ingredients and

superfoods to make amazing smoothies

at home and everyday we make one of those

smoothies with you, it's awesome! if you could

comment where you're watching from

in the comments below, we'd love to hear from

you we get a wide variety of viewership

from all over the world and it's really

fun to see everybody come together and

help support each other and their health

journeys!

So, I want to talk about honeydew.

Because honeydew kind of gets a bad rep.

They are usually the filler in all of

the fruit baskets you get, and they are

always the last things to eat and what's

interesting about honeydew is that it

used to be reserved only for society's

elite. In ancient Egypt they regarded

honeydew as sacred and people that liked

honeydew included Cleopatra, Napoleon,

and Pope Paul the 2nd! So I'm not sure what

happened between then and now it's just kind

of an afterthought in fruit baskets, but

I wanted to bring it back to people's

attention. It's really an amazing fruit/melon

it's one of those fruits that can

actually ripen after it's picked. And however

sweet they are is dictated on when they

were picked in the growing process. So if

you're able to get honeydew, ripe,

right in season, from farms that wait

for the honeydew to ripen almost fully before they

pick, you're going to get a sweeter dew!

So what else is in this recipe?

We're going to do 4 oz of honeydew.

A good handful of honeydew...2 Kiwis.

1tbsp of shredded coconut flakes.

2 tbsp of coconut cream.

And a good handful of swiss chard. Love swiss chard.

So let's blend this up. I'm gonna throw in some water.

And, honeydew, if you cut it you can freeze it and it'll

stay obviously frozen and it will also

make it so you don't have to use ice cubes.

Gonna throw in my coconut flakes; lots of

healthy fats in there. Also put in

my Swiss chard; lots of fiber in this. Dark

leafy greens, swiss chard is one of

those things you might not think about putting

in your smoothie. But it has such a mild flavor and it's

a really great addition.

I'm just chopping up these Kiwi right

here.

You don't have to cut off the skin, the skin is

actually very edible and if you are one

of the people that can eat the skin, do it!

For me, I have an itchy tongue when I eat the skin so I

try to take off as much as I can but

you might be to the story and you can

save some time, which is really the point

of this all. I am all about time-saving

hacks. Kiwi also is an interesting

little fruit, it originates from China and it

wasn't until the early 1900's

that it actually left China and became

started being cultivated

around the world. This is actually a pretty

easy fruit

to grow if you live in a mild winter.

A place with a mild winter, you can

actually grow it in your own backyard.

Imagine that! It's also...it's a vine fruit

so they grow on a vine.

Just a little tidbit factoid.

Now I'm going to throw in

2 tbsp of coconut cream, this is going to

give it a little bit of creaminess. If

you're using this canned coconut cream

that we use, it might separate a little bit--

because of the fat and water--But don't fret.

I usually skim off a tbsp

on the top and I burrow down to the water

and pour in a tbsp of the water.

Let's blend this up. Here we go.

*~Blender whirring*~

I already can tell this is gonna be light

and refreshing. This smoothie is one of those

smoothies that are going to be really good

for your skin, give you lots of glowing skin.

The other thing is it's a good immune booster

and it's a calmer. So, let's try it out.

I love this! It's really creamy you can

taste the coconut in there, the honeydew,

and the kiwi make it really light and

refreshing.

It's the perfect smoothie for you to start

your day. I will see you guys back here

tomorrow, until then cheers!
