Atletico Madrid could parade Diego Costa before Euro clash against Chelsea

DIEGO COSTA could be paraded in front of Atletico Madrid fans ahead of their Champions League clash with Chelsea on Wednesday night.

The Spain striker landed in Madrid on Friday and completed a medical before making an appearance in the stands for the 2-0 La Liga win over Sevilla.

Diego Costa said he was delighted to return home.

Diego Costa has passed his medical ahead of a £57m switch.

And he could complete his £67million return to the Spanish capital within the next few days.

While Atletico's Fifa-imposed transfer ban means he cannot be officially registered until January, this deal would constitute a binding agreement with Chelsea.

Wednesday night's clash will be an awkward first encounter for Costa, 28, with Antonio Conte and the Chelsea hierarchy since they celebrated the title together in May.

Striker Costa was the Premier League champion's top scorer last season with 20 goals.

But he was allegedly told he was surplus to requirements by boss Conte via a text message.

However, he received a hero's welcome when he was greeted by delighted Atletico fans at Madrid's Alfonso Suarez airport upon his arrival.

Diego Costa is the latest in a long line of stars to wave goodbye to Chelsea.

And speaking after Atletico's win over Sevilla, boss Diego Simeone revealed the striker fought for the transfer, which had been mooted throughout the summer.

Simeone said: "It makes us so happy that a player of such high esteem wold have such a strong desire to join us.

"He fought for this move and that is admirable.

I'm very happy.".

Costa joined the Blues from Atletico in 2014 for £32m and banged in 58 goals in his three years in west London.

Diego Costa is likely to meet Chelsea boss Antonio Conte next week when Atletico meet the Blues in the Champions League.

And should he be paraded in front of home supporters on Wednesday, it will no doubt ramp up what should already prove to be a raucous atmosphere in the brand-new Wanda Metropolitano's first Champions League encounter.

Costa would have been impressed by his new team-mates' performance in their victory over Sevilla   which lifted them to second  in La Liga.

Goals from Yannick Carrasco and Antoine Griezmann did the trick — and   Griezmann was subbed after his clincher, with one eye on the big Chelsea clash.

Athletics Catcher Bruce Maxwell Becomes 1st MLB Player to Kneel for Anthem.

Oakland A's catcher Bruce Maxwell became the first Major League Baseball player to kneel

during the national anthem, according to the San Francisco Chronicle's Susan Slusser.

"The Oakland A's pride ourselves on being inclusive," the team said in a statement.

"We respect and support all of our players' constitutional rights and freedom of expression."

Earlier Saturday, Maxwell hinted at kneeling with a post on Twitter:

According to the Dallas Morning News' Evan Grant, Maxwell is the son of a United States

soldier and was born on an army base.

Maxwell's decision comes one day after President Donald Trump said at a rally in Alabama that

he would like to see NFL owners cut players who protest social injustice during the national

anthem.

"Wouldn't you love to see one of these NFL owners, when somebody disrespects our flag,

to say, 'Get that son of a bitch off the field right now, out, he's fired.

He's fired,'" Trump said, per CNN's Brian Stelter.

"You know, some owner is going to do that.

He's going to say, 'That guy that disrespects our flag, he's fired.'

And that owner, they don't know it [but] they'll be the most popular person in this country."

Trump also implied in a tweet Saturday that the Golden State Warriors wouldn't be invited

to the White House after Stephen Curry said he would advocate for the team not to visit.

"I don't want to go," Curry said Friday, according to USA Today's Sam Amick.

"That's kind of the nucleus of my belief...(But) it's not just me going to the White House.

If it was, this would be a pretty short conversation."

At the same time, she teased fans about what they could expect during the romantic ceremony.

When speaking to E! News, Jenelle expressed her hopes for a backyard rustic theme celebration with an elegant, sweet and Southern twist.

 Audrina Patridge promises shes doing OK, speaking out for the first time after filing for divorce from Corey Bohan.

The former Hills star took to Instagram today to share a sweet video of their daughter, Kirra, alongside a message thanking her fans for their support during whats been a difficult few days.

This little beauty lights up the room wherever she is, Patridge began, adding, I appreciate all your thoughts & messages, this is a difficult time but we are doing ok xoxo (Kirra loves this little dress my grandma made it for my aunt 50+ years ago and its still in perfect condition & cute as ever)..

 On Monday, Patridge obtained a temporary restraining order against Bohan, and two days later, she filed for divorce.

The couple was married for 10 months.

Audrinas number one priority is her daughter, and she asks for privacy at this time, Patridges rep told E! News in a statement on Thursday.  Patridges attorney also spoke out, telling us at the time, To be clear [the domestic violence restraining order] is not a strategic filing, its very difficult for people to go public with these issues.

It wasnt done to hurt Corey or to gain an advantage, it was done to protect their child and to protect Ms.

Patridge and thats it. .

  The original filings show that Patridge sought protection for both her and their daughter, Kirra.

Patridge stated in the documents that Bohan has become increasingly possessive, angry, agitated and jealous of her work and travel schedule.

Patridge—who was spotted for the first time since filing for divorce, unloading belongings at her parents home in Orange County Friday evening—then made a request for modification.  She filed the new documents on Friday, stating, On September 18, 2017, this court granted me a temporary restraining order, including orders that Respondent stay at least 100 yards away from my home, work, vehicle, etc. She continued, However the court did not grant an order Respondent move out of my real property. Patridge said she has owned this property since prior to their marriage and that she Bohan have a prenup which states that the house is my separate property and that Bohan shall not acquire any interest in my real or personal property..

Patridge goes on to say that she fled her house with their daughter on Sept.

6 and has been staying with her parents ever since because Bohan has yet to leave the property.

Bohan filed his response to the restraining order and divorce filing on Friday as well.

He stated that the restraining order applies only to Patridges parents home in Orange County, and not the home he lived in with Patridge, so hes refusing to leave.

A court hearing has been scheduled for October, which sparked another complaint by Bohan.

He stated that he believes Patridge is trying to hijack his visitation with Kirra since they scheduled the hearing on the exact date and time of his next visit with their daughter.

Bohan stated he is trying to retain an attorney.

However, he claimed that he cannot afford it, so he noted that he wants Patridge to pay him support.
