Youtube daily report Sep 25 2017

Good evening and welcome to Western Hall for some conference basketball.

You've got South Dakota coming in here tonight to take on your fighting leathernecks.

Jeff Marta, Drew Hoffman with you here as always down on press row and we've got Cam Freeman

on the sidelines with us tonight.

Well the Leathernecks are going to have to learn a little bit more as they are going

to be missing one of their main guys one of their key pieces and that's Mike Makulsik.

He's out for his third straight game tonight and with more on that we're going to send

it over to Cam Freeman on the sidelines.

Cam?

Guys obviously one of the keys to winning games is teamwork.

No one knows that better than Mike Makulsik, Jamari Sandifer, Derrick Covington and Jaime

Savage.

Collectively this season they have averaged 48 points per game.

Sandifer directing traffic out here by half court.

There's a screen.

He really set up the defender nicely.

Robert Brunnett now.

Free throw line jumper.

Bang Bang!

He's still got that leap too.

We're talking about his quickness.

Creators For Change: ArthurPrsl - Refugees ≠ Terrorists - Duration: 4:24.

Hi you if you did not know in 2015 that is 65.3 million people who

leave their country because of the war or persecution.

In its 65.3 million people 40 million

remained in their country and finally it is 21.3 million

Refugees fleeing their country because conflicts for a living simply

safer, but it's sad to say because in 2017 there is still a small

part of humanity that makes me sad.

What we will think about that latter? (years). I would like to ask you a

question when are we going t realize that the history still going

even far from our home.

When will we be saying that all 20 minutes is families who are

leaving their country for a safer life. If for you 20 families per minute

it's nothing, and told you when a day it's not 20 families but

28 000 families. So I know some of you are going to say : refugees are better

welcomed then our homeless. Bullshit but you know what

we should ask these people, to these people we should ask them if

even using the misfortune of others (so the homeless) have you already

housed a homeless person ? to help him.

Some other people will also say : In france

we don't have the space. In France we have the space for everyone.

Marie-arlette carlotti said "We do not oppose two miseries. The state should build appropriate responses to these despairs and these concerns "

In 2014 France had 2.6 million empty housing. In France in

2016 there were 130,000 without home fixed.

So it would remain 2.47 million empty housing by housing

all the homeless in France. So there is room for everyone.

Finally some will say yes but arthur why do not they go in the countries

neighbors? Well actually they do it.

They are much to do. For example turkey hosted 2.9 million refugees

for GDP is 857.7 billion (USD)

Consequently pakistan who welcomed 1 million refugees, with a GDP

of 283.7 billion. But in France we will welcome 0,024

million refugees, which ultimately that 24,000

refugees, for a total French GDP which is still of 2.465 bln.

And in 10 years 20 years 30 years tell me you, will you want to be part

of the people who refused to help those insecure

those living in war and in precariousness or otherwise you

be able to be part of those who agreed to help whole families

who just fled the war. 'you choose'

I really think deep down that there should not be any place where the human could not be safe.

'We fear what we do not know'

Personally for me this is normal to fear what we do not know

But why we dont we learn more about them?

I have a message to convey to you I think it is our duty to overcome

hate speech, the violent speech more

violent, extreme discourses simply overcome by fraternity.

Thank you all for watching this video I hope it made you

reflect. If you want to act on this

video, it's easy you can do a donation for UNHCR.

It's an organization that help refugees all over the world.

But beyond the donation there are some things more important is simply,

inform you. Please look in the

Description there are tons of links you will be able to recover

information and deepen your knowledge.

You can also share this video at your friends.

and why not do

also think with your friends on refugee issue.

And all these questions in fact that arise. Before stopping the video

I just want to say that I really took a lot of fun

the pleasure of make people think.

After this video, maybe you

go do something else and think about and I think I have won everything.

Then from the heart, thank you all for watching the video

I say goodbye it was ArthurPrsl. See you

Ignorance leads to fear, fear leads to hatred and hatred leads to violence. That's the equation. (Averroes)

Stevie Wonder kneels in support of Kaepernick at music festival|K CHANNEL - Duration: 3:24.

Stevie Wonder kneels in support of Kaepernick at music festival

Stevie Wonder took a knee in support of embattled U.S.

sportsman Colin Kaepernick while performing at the Global Citizen Festival on Saturday night.

Kaepernicks contract with the San Francisco 49ers was not renewed this summer and he remains a free agent after sparking a backlash for kneeling during the U.S.

National Anthem at games last year to protest discrimination against his fellow African-Americans.

On Friday, U.S.

President Donald Trump hit out at Kaepernick and other athletes who have opted to kneel in support of the football player, telling a crowd of supporters in Alabama they should be let go from their teams.

Wouldnt you love to see one of these NFL owners, when somebody disrespects our flag, to say, Get that son of a b**ch off the field right now.

Out! Hes fired, he said.

He followed up his controversial comments on Saturday on Twitter, writing, If a player wants the privilege of making millions of dollars in the NFL,or other leagues, he or she should not be allowed to disrespect our Great American Flag and should stand for the National Anthem.

If not, YOURE FIRED.

Find something else to do!.

Following his comments, President Trump received backlash from celebrities and athletes and when Wonder took the stage to perform in New York he showed his support by kneeling.

It is only through life we can make life happen through ourselves and each other, he told the crowd.

Our global brothers and sisters, I didnt come here to preach, but Im telling you, our spirits must be in the right place all the time..

Im taking a knee for America - not just one knee, but both knees in prayer for our planet, our future, and leaders of our world, he added.

The 5 Best Moments From 2017's Global Citizen Festival: Watch|K CHANNEL - Duration: 8:04.

The 5 Best Moments From 2017's Global Citizen Festival: Watch

Some 60,000 people congregated on Central Parks Great Lawn on Saturday (Sept.

23) for the sixth annual Global Citizen Festival, a free outing that united politicians, activists and some of musics biggest hitmakers for a day of thrilling performances and calls for political and social change around the world.

The best acts of the day effortlessly blended showmanship and activism, delighting the masses while also inspiring them to make a difference.

Check out the five best moments from 2017s Global Citizen Festival:.

The Killers Shockingly Early Performance.

No small feat rousing tens of thousands of scorched festival-goers from their mid-afternoon slump -- but then again, The Killers have always preferred outsized gestures.

Throngs of fans leapt to their feet and sprinted to edges of their respective quadrants on the Great Lawn as frontman Brandon Flowers humbly introduced the Las Vegas foursome, who played the third set of the day at 5 p.m.

despite their supposed co-headline billing.

It proved wise counter-programming on Global Citizens part, as the groups brisk, hit-filled set -- Mr Brightside, All These Things That Ive Done, Read My Mind, When You Were Young -- revived the audience and mounted excitement for several dynamic performances to come.

The Lumineers Tasteful Ode to Hurricane Survivors.

Lead singer Wesley Schultz couldnt help but geek out during The Lumineers rousing set, saying sheepishly, I never thought Id share a stage with Stevie Wonder and Jane Goodall. The folk-rock revivalists whipped the crowd into a dancing frenzy despite the oppressive heat, but they also used their time to advocate for greater hurricane relief aid across the Caribbean.

Gaston Browne, Prime Minister of Antigua and Barbuda -- which was devastated by Hurricane Irma -- joined the band onstage and implored international leaders to help rebuild the island.

Following Brownes message, the group closed out their set with a tasteful, inspiring cover of Creedence Clearwater Revivals Have You Ever Seen the Rain?.

Andra Days Show-Stopping Covers.

Artists often have to eschew emotional nuance and dynamics in lieu of immediate crowd-pleasers at such massive festivals, but Andra Day ditched those rules the second she took the stage Saturday.

The powerhouse R&B singer opened her four-song set with a breathtaking, slow-burning cover of Billie Holidays Strange Fruit, as the names of lynching victims flashed on the screen behind her.

Amidst a slew of performances and speeches addressing social justice and racial inequality, Days performance registered as the most simplistically poignant.

I want to encourage all of you today to stand up for something, she told the audience, before pivoting and closing her set with a thunderous rendition of Queens I Want it All..

Green Days Masterful Blend of Politics and Pop-Punk.

Ladies and gentlemen, tonight were gonna make the world great again! Green Day frontman Billie Joe Armstrong roared to rapturous applause at the beginning of their speed-of-light, decade-spanning greatest-hits set.

The Bay Area punk heroes transitioned seamlessly between adrenal protest anthems Know Your Enemy and Holiday and tender stadium ballad Wake Me Up When September Ends, a testament to Armstrongs incredible pop savvy and unwavering sincerity.

The 45-year-old singer raced across the stage and jabbed his finger into the sky like a tattooed mega-preacher leading a congregation of misfits to salvation.

(It was all the more powerful when considering almost five years to the date, he ended the bands set at iHeartRadio Music Festival with a profanity-laden tirade and subsequently checked himself into rehab.) Just when it seemed like Armstrong would make it through the whole set without a single political name drop, he flexed his ad-libbing skills on American Idiot: Im not a part of a dumb Trump America!.

tevie Wonders Uplifting, Political, Star-Studded Performance.

Whats not to say about Stevie Wonders mesmerizing headlining performance? The 67-year-old pop icon couldve easily coasted on his staggering catalog of hits: He whipped through classics such as Higher Ground, Signed, Sealed, Delivered, Living for the City and Sir Duke with impeccable precision and an infectious sense of humor, his voice perfectly intact and propelled by a virtuosic backing band.

But Wonder is far more than a consummate showman: Hes a tireless civil-rights activist and a global citizen in the truest sense, and he made that immediately clear by taking a knee for America before starting his set.

It is only through life that we can make life happen, for ourselves and for each other, he exhorted the audience, before leading them in euphoric singalongs of My Cherie Amour and We Are the World. One gets the sense that Wonders transcendent songs and steadfast spirit could solve the worlds problems alone -- they certainly reduced Pharrell Williams to a flustered fanboy as he joined the legend onstage and flubbed the lyrics to his own hits, Get Lucky and Happy. Wonder humored him and played the latter song a second time, ensuring that the audience left Global Citizen Festival feeling -- thats right -- happy.

Stevie Wonder Takes a Knee and Green Day Rouses the Crowd at Global Citizen Festival|K CHANNEL - Duration: 6:39.

Stevie Wonder Takes a Knee and Green Day Rouses the Crowd at Global Citizen Festival

Over 60,000 people came together in Manhattans Central Park on Saturday to sing, dance and sweat in early fall heat for the sixth annual Global Citizen Festival.

More than six hours of music from acts like Stevie Wonder and Green Day was interspersed with speeches and calls to action from dignitaries and celebrities like Hugh Jackman, Priyanka Chopra and Senator Chuck Schumer.

Main headliner Stevie Wonder, sauntering onstage as the closeout act, drilled home the politically-charged nature of the festival by echoing NFL star Colin Kaepernick and taking a knee.

Tonight Im taking a knee for America, he said, receiving assistance from his son as he lowered himself.

But not just one knee, both knees.

Both knees in prayer for our planet, our future, our leaders of the world and our globe.

Amen.

I wanted to say that prayer before I serve you my musical meal.

Is that OK? he asked.

Are yall ready to have some fun?.

He prefaced his act with philosophy.

We could lose at the ultimate video game of life, Wonder told the crowd.

I didnt come here to preach.

But Im telling you, our spirits must be in the right place.

All the time, not just now.

Whenever you need to, [you must] interrupt hate, stand down bigotry, condemn sexism and find love for all our global brothers and sisters every day..

His move was reflective of the evening, which matched political warnings and discussion of the goals to end world poverty by 2030 with celebratory music.

There was Alessia Cara, kicking off the show with her brand of empowering pop; The Killers, bringing rock energy to an audience sweltering in the bright sun; and Andra Day, opening with a powerful, haunting rendition of Strange Fruit..

Other acts included the folksy Lumineers, rapper Big Sean and The Chainsmokers, using lights and pyrotechnics to good effect.

But perhaps the most appropriate group to match the evenings message was old-school punk rockers Green Day.

As Billie Joe Armstrong launched into his set, the crowd converged toward the stage, creating an excitable mosh.

Im not a part of the Don Trump America, he sang over the bands classic rebel jam American Idiot from 2004.

After playing an acoustic encore, the openly political Armstrong closed out with one message: Keep fighting..

Meanwhile Senator Chuck Schumer, who spoke early on in the festival, garnered a laugh for wearing shorts and brandishing a bike helmet onstage as he dissed the proposed border wall.

(He had biked in from Brooklyn, he said.) Speakers like Coldplay singer Chris Martin, appearing in a video message, invoked the legacy of Nelson Mandela in fighting for the end of poverty.

Jane Goodall, legendary scientist, delivered a chimpanzee greeting after noting the similarities between our primate brethren and ourselves.

Demi Lovato revealed shes Global Citizens new ambassador for mental health, formalizing her role as a voice for children.

This is how we change the world: one person at a time, Whoopi Goldberg announced at one point.

(Attendees received tickets by taking social media actions, like tweeting at world leaders, to support poverty-ending initiatives.) She then led the crowd in a chant.

Can you say that: Im not gonna take the BS anymore! Scream it! Remember how that felt.

Global Citizen reports that people participating in their campaigns took 1.

6 million actions over two months, resulting in $3.

2 billion worth of commitments and announcements set to affect 221 million people, all intended to forward the Global Goals for Sustainable Development.

The importance of giving on #FREDlanthropy Day - Duration: 0:51.

Hi, I'm Nancy Boynton

and I've been a professor at Fredonia for 35 years.

Hello to all my former students!

I was fortunate that my parents made sure

that there was enough money for college

for me and my siblings.

But with prices today, that's very difficult

for families to do.

When my parents passed away and left a little money

it seemed fitting that they continue

to help students pay for college

with a scholarship in their names.

It is rewarding to be able to pay it forward

and support memories and areas of the campus

that are particularly dear to me.

Please join me on #FREDlanthropy Day

in supporting the Fredonia students of today and tomorrow

either by supporting the campus as a whole

or a part of the campus, or a scholarship

that is special to you.

TRAVELING RUSSIA #2: TRADITIONAL RUSSIAN VILLAGES AND THE WHITE SEA - Duration: 7:31.

Good morning, everyone!

This is my second day in Arkhangel'sk

and today we're going to be visiting a very interesting site

that is here close by called:

"Malye Korely"

It's a small little village

with lots of old buildings that are typical for this region

And I think it's going to be really interesting!

We just arrived at... "Malye Korely"?

Yep

It's really beautiful here outside of the city.

It's nice to be here out in nature!

Do you want to add something?

We call this time of year "Golden Autumn"

"Golden Autumn"

It's all around us!

You can dance with them if you want!

I can dance with them?

Yeah!

Alright, then!

And you'll film it, right?

Yeah! They're practicing for the holidays.

Do you want to join them?

Yeah, why not.

Ok, let's go ask!

Do you know the words?

Nope!

It's a really old song.

"Would you mind if we joined y-"

They already all done!

What are these things called (in Russian)?

"Ходули" (khoduli)

(кардули?) Karduly?

Khoduli!

(khodit'=to walk khoduli= stilts)

Give it a try!

Take Naomi (the dog)

It's really hard!

Nope!

Don't worry! Just keep going.

Try it a bit closer.

That was it.

Beautiful!

Everything's made of wood.

Hello doggy!

Naomi, come here!

The road is ok here! (Russian roads are notoriously bad)

Yeah, it's new!

Yeah, it's pretty. They made it not too long ago.

What year?

Last year!

BCC filmed here so it shouldn't be an issue.

Can you tell me again what they actually do in this factory?

Diamonds!

They store diamonds.

And they make atomic submarines.

A lot of different things, really.

And foreigners aren't along there?

Well if you have a special invitation, it's fine.

For a conference or something like that...

I also saw that wall and thought "Wow the sea is so beautiful!"

Whipped cream!

Yeah, whipped cream!

Get the whipped cream on camera!

Lots of it here!

Like this? I have to be careful...

Whoops!

You just take it like this and...

Yep, exactly! Just rip it off.

Really tasty. I recommend everyone try this (kind of sarcastic)

I'm happy someone else likes it! Usually only I like it.

Yeah, I enjoyed it!

This is called "сыр косичка/syr kosichka" (braided cheese)

Right?

Yep.

Tasty!

It's probably the best when you combine the two.

Why don't you try it!

Check, check soundcheck! Oh wow, it's loud...

"Let's meet tonight"

And we'll smoke o-o-opium!

Let's meet up tonight.
