Youtube daily report Dec 27 2016

Hi community of awesome, I'm Ava Jae and this is bookishpixie.

Since it's the last vlog of 2016, I thought I'd do a New Years resolution vlog because

it's about that time when people are thinking about resolutions, and I did one last year and

that worked out well, so let's do it.

The one thing I like to remind everyone about resolutions is to pick things that are completely within your control.

So rather than resolving to get published, for example, which has a bunch of things out

of your control, instead you may want to resolve to send out a certain number of query letters,

or to finish writing your manuscript, or finish revising, or get critique partners—things that are within your control.

So don't forget that.

Okay, so, my resolutions for 2017. Here we go.

First, read 70 books.

So this was actually my goal for this year, um, but as of this recording which is about

a week before you guys will actually see it, I'm up to 66 books.

So totally within the realm of possibility that I will read four books in the next two

weeks and meet my goal, but because this has been so challenging I'm not going to raise

it anymore; this seems to have been a good goal for me and I don't wanna stress myself

out about it, so I'm gonna stick with 70.

And 70 books is a lot, and I mean it's like seven times what my goal was maybe five years

ago so I'm perfectly happy with that.

Second, finish revising INTO THE BLACK.

So this is partial deadline and partial resolution because I really do actually have to finish

revising INTO THE BLACK, um, it's in my contract, but I'm really looking forward to more revisions.

I've already done partial revisions I am really proud of this book and where it's going, and

I can't wait to see what the revisions ahead of me will bring, and I'm super looking forward

to sharing it with you guys in the fall.

Third, first draft THE RISING GOLD.

So this is partial deadline and partial not.

I say partial because it's not actually in my contract that I need to first draft it

next year, but it *is* in my contract that I need to turn it in the year after, so I

will definitely be first drafting it next year so I don't stress myself out squeezing

it in the year after, and that's going to be kind of bittersweet because I will be finishing

my very first trilogy.

But it's something I'm looking forward to because it's really special, and should be fun.

Fourth, work on other projects.

So this is kind of a vague header because I [don't] really know exactly what projects

I'm going to work on next year; I know that I would like to revise at least one of the

projects that I first drafted, and I'd also like to first draft something new, but I don't

want to set anything into stone because I'm not 100% sure how I'm going to organize the

projects and what I'll work on first, second, third, et cetera, but the point is I would

definitely like to make some progress on my non-BEYOND THE RED projects.

So that should be fun.

Fifth, keep working out.

So last January I started working out with hand weights, and I was a little hesitant

to do so because in the past my autoimmune disease has forced me to stop working out—I

can't jog, for example—so that was a little scary but I did it anyway, decided to just

give it a try, and it has gone really, really well.

I'm really happy with the results to so far; I feel a lot better about myself, it's given

me more confidence, and it's also improved my posture, which is a great thing, so overall

super happy with that and definitely want to continue it.

And sixth, start working outside of my home office.

So for the longest time I've only been able to work in my home office because I have a

desktop and you can't really lug those around, but after saving up for ever and ever and

ever, I just recently got myself a laptop, which I am really excited about because I

can now work outside of my house.

I think it's actually going to help me a lot because it was feeling really isolating for

me to be stuck working at home all the time and not being able to work anywhere else,

so I think it'll help me emotionally a lot to be able to just get out and work where

I want to, and that should be nice.

So those are my New Years resolutions, and I wanna hear yours, so let me know what you're

resolving to do in 2017 in the comments below.

So that's what I've got for today!

Happy New Year!

Three Little Birds (Easy/Beginner Song With Guitar Chords) - Duration: 7:44.

Hi everyone!

Welcome back to Liberty Park Music's YouTube Channel.

My name is Ze and today we'll be looking at a quick video lesson on Bob Marley song: "Three Little Birds".

So if you feel like you have any questions half way through the video please leave it

as a comment down below and I'll get back to you as soon as possible.

So let's jump right into the lesson!

Ok, so first things first let's look at the song' structure.

So the structure for this song is quite simple: it first begins with four bars of A major

and that is the intro.

Then, it alternates between chorus and verse.

So the chorus is the part where he says: "Don't worry about a thing" and the verse is when he

starts singing: "Rise up this morning, smile with the risin' sun"...

So on so forth.

So for the chorus and verse, it repeats over and over again so once you're done with the

intro, you will go into the chorus, then the verse, then the chorus again, then the verse

and then you will play the last chorus three times.

So as you might have noticed, this song only has three chords: E major, A major and D major.

ok, so first things first, the chorus only consists of two chords: the A major and the

D major.

Now, one thing I wanna change about the A major is the regular way to play your A major

is to have your index finger on the second fret of the fourth string, your middle finger

on the second fret of the third string and your ring finger on the second fret of the

second string.

But what I want you to do instead is have your middle finger on the second fret of the

fourth string instead and then your index finger on the second fret of the third string

and then your ring finger on the second fret of the second string.

So with this replacement fingerings you will have a much easier time switching between

your A major and your D major and your E major as well.

Because you have what's called an anchor finger, your index finger stays on the same string

throughout these three chords.

So, for now, just try to strum the chorus with down strums: four down strums per bar.

So, 1, 2, 3, 4, 1, 2, 3, 4...

D Major...

And then A Major...

Now the replacement fingers that we had for A Major in the chorus applies for the verse

as well.

So same thing for the verse: index finger on the third string of the..

SORRY the second fret of the third string.

Middle finger on the second fret of the fourth string and ring finger on the second fret

of the second string.

So this allows you to switch between your A to your E and back to your D a lot faster.

So the verse goes like this: you're gonna do down strums for now.

1, 2, 3, 4...

Okay, so now let's look at the right hand plucking technique.

I'm gonna show you where to place each finger of your right hand when it comes to plucking

each chord.

So for the A Major, you wanna have your thumb on the fifth string, your index finger on

the fourth string, your middle finger on the third string and your ring finger on the second string.

So you'll be doing a thumb, pluck.

Notice how when I pluck, I don't peel my hand away from the strings, I just close my fingers

into a fist.

For my thumb, I just do this.

For the E Major, you wanna keep your three fingers, still on the fourth string, third

string and second string but now your thumb moves to the sixth string.

And finally for the D Major, you wanna move your thumb down to the fourth string, your

index finger on the third string, middle finger on the second string and your ring finger

on the first string.

And then, same thing.

Try this...

Thumb, pluck...

Remember to close your hand instead of peeling your hand away to pluck.

Now, let's talk about the groove.

The groove... basically the song, I mean as you can tell is a reggae song, and the reggae

groove emphasizes on the up beats meaning that "and beats".

So, what we will do is we will play our thumb on the one count and all the up beats we will

be playing using these three fingers.

So, if for example, I'm just gonna stay on a A Major chord, what i mean by that is when

I play my thumb, SORRY when I play the one beat, I will use my thumb and on all the

"and beats" I will use these three fingers.

So...

1 and 2 and 3 and 4 and...

Notice as well, after I pluck these strings, I mute these strings immediately by using

my right hand and just placing it down on the strings again.

So once again, it's 1 and 2 and 3 and 4 and 1 and 2 and 3 and 4 and...

And then if you have to change chord to like D Major, move your hand down 1 and 2 and 3

and 4 and...

And that's pretty much it for the right hand.

You just have to practice switching the chords and moving your right hand along with the

chords changes as well.

And that's all we have for today.
