Alfa Romeo Spider (2007-2011) buying advice - Duration: 6:50.

An Alfa 159 as a convertible. A 'spider' in Italian.

Enough said. Go and get it. What's keeping you? It's for sale. Go for it.

It's an incredible beauty.

Yes, it's an Alfa Romeo, so there are some things to watch out for, but look at it.

This really is a pretty car. This is the Spider version of the Brera.

People were a bit disappointed with the Brera. It was a concept once.

The concept was prettier than the production version.

The proportions were better. However, I think the Spider is brilliant.

The shape of the headlights... I think it's full-on Alfa from the outside.

The inside...

The Spider has been in production for only 4 years, the Brera for 5 years.

It wasn't a bestseller for Alfa Romeo.

They never made a successor, which is a shame.

These models disappear from the market.

The engines aren't that exciting.

Alfa Romeo was part of GM back then, so it has some Opel genes.

However, there was also a diesel engine for the Alfa Spider and Brera for those who want drive much.

ENGINES gasoline, diesel

The car not being a bestseller is reflected on Marktplaats.

Only 20 of this generation Alfa Spider are for sale.

Prices start at 11,000-13,000 euros and go up high.

A more recent 1750 Turbo is over 20,000 euros and a low-mileage 3.2 JTS with AWD is over 30,000.

PRICES minimum, maximum

Speaking of the 3.2 JTS, it is a thirsty one.

It is heavy because of the AWD. Alfa Romeo was obese in this period. The 159 had this problem too.

So, that engine is thirsty. Its timing chain can jump a tooth sometimes, just like the 2.2 JTS.

It won't destroy the engine, as happened with the previous generation Alfa Romeo engines;

the Twin Sparks. If the engine won't run smoothly and it's a bit irregular, check the timing chain.

If a diesel engine doesn't have power over 2,000 rpm, it's the EGR valve.

Swirl flaps, other valves, can break. They don't end up in the engine, but can cause problems.

The water pump can get stuck. That's something to keep an eye on, because it won't cool anymore.

When driving over bumps... I hit one now, but don't hear anything. I think one's fine.

A thumping sound from the middle of the car is caused by worn front wishbones.

This happens to more cars. They'll need replacing.

Another thing is the interior. The materials used damage easily.

For example, where you put the key. Other keys on the key ring damage it.

It's difficult to replace, so check how it looks.

After you bought it, don't put a bunch of keys on and damage your center console.

Tip of the day. I don't get why people keep a bunch of other keys on the car key's ring.

It damages the car, makes noise, so don't do it.

This is a convertible, so look if the top's mechanism works right.

Casper made a video about the things to watch out for when buying a convertible.

It'll be a good idea to check that out. Open and close the top a couple of times to see if it works smoothly.

You can reset the windows. Sometimes they won't open and close properly.

For example, when opening the door.

If you open it all the way, press and hold the button for 10 seconds, close it all the way,

and press and hold for another 10 seconds, it will reset the window mechanism.

This can be a tip if you have window issues.

A final thing: the paint quality.

More modern cars have water-based paints that are softer and less durable.

Alfa Romeo had problems with that as well, so check for stone chips on the hood and wheel arches.

There shouldn't be much damage.

We found this car at Multicar in Gorinchem.

It's a 2.2 JTS with an elegant color combination. The interior has a special color.

I don't know if I think it's pretty, this bluish-gray leather.

It's a bit strange, but it may be nice.

Donald Trump�s adult sons are selling access to the president-elect and his family for

the day after his inauguration for up to $1 million per person.

A Texas-based non-profit, called the �Opening Day Foundation,� managed by Trump sons,

Donald Trump Jr. and Eric Trump, is already selling access to Trump for the day after

his official inauguration via a charitable fundraiser.

The Trump family are set to gain from lucrative connections and business opportunities that

are bound to come their way through their newfound status as the First Family.

Trump supporters had hoped that the soon-to-be President would stand up for the �little

guy.�

The fundraiser will see multi-millionaires and billionaires donating up to $1 million

a head for the opportunity of having their photos taken with the Trumps and joining them

on private hunting trips.

True Activist reports:

The fundraiser, set to benefit unnamed �conservation charities,� was marketed as �your opportunity

to play a significant role as our family commemorates the inauguration of our father, friend, and

President Donald J. Trump,� according to promotional materials obtained by TMZ.

The event offers six sponsorship levels ranging from $25,000 to $1 million.

The highest level, titled �The Bald Eagle,� offers a private reception and photo shoot

with the newly-minted President, four autographed guitars from Toby Keith and the band Alabama,

and a multi-day hunting or fishing trips with Trump�s sons and their confidants.

Donald Trump Jr and Eric Trump are known for their enthusiasm for long-standing American

pastimes of hunting and fishing, though they also have had more than one foray into big

game hunting.

In a May interview with the New Yorker, Donald Trump Jr alluded to his affinity for the outdoors

and his defense of keeping public land in the hands of the people, a controversial issue

among outdoorsmen.

Though some liberal media outlets have doubted whether the fundraiser will really benefit

conservation causes or not, they fail to recognize the possibility that Trump�s sons are not

carbon copies of their father.

However, the issue here is not whether or not the fundraiser will actually benefit conservation

efforts, but is instead the precedent the fundraiser sets for a �pay to play� set-up

in the upcoming Trump administration.

The term �pay to play� was largely associated with Democrats during the past election as

Hillary Clinton�s shady dealings via the Clinton Foundation showed that her family�s

�charity� was little more than a slush fund used to collect money from those who

wanted access.

Trump criticized the arrangement on more than one occasion on the campaign trail, but it

seems that this may be yet another one of his �flip-flops� since winning the electoral

contest last month.

Considering the enormous wealth of his cabinet picks (nearly $14 billion in combined net

worth) and the lofty sums required for personal access to Trump and his kin, it is becoming

more and more likely that the next administration will be less about �draining the swamp�

and more about expanding the family�s business empire and influence.
