夏越 (Through Summer) English translated by Fuyuko
My memories of you and I
Making merry, are distant
Summer in our birthplace
Is silent again this year
But for flowing stream's song
And the skylark's chirping
It reverberates among the mountains
The sounds of taiko drums and flutes
In this ongoing eternity
I abandon myself to it
Looking up to the blue sky
Children proclaim their love
Passing across the borders
All dreams are the same
As far as the eye can see
Everything is covered in green
It brings tears to my eyes
That original scenery
'In such a beautiful world,
Why must humans fight?'
They reach for the eternal heavens
Dancing in a kagura performance
The water's surface is illuminated
By a multitude of kotodama
Those early days are
Just like a tender song
I stand in the vast fields
And I love the summer.

5 WORST Grooming Mistakes Men Make (And How To Fix Them!) | BIGGEST Manscaping DON'TS - Duration: 9:57.
Not trimming your nose hair for so long, people mistake it for a mustache.
Not wearing antiperspirant on public transportation when it's 100 degrees outside.
Using a dull razor to try shave your testicles.
Guys, hopefully I've got your attention.
Today's video, five of the worst grooming mistakes that men make.
Mistake number one, gentlemen is not having a routine.
Now, understand having a bad routine is better than having no routine.
You want to be proactive not reactive.
A routine is something that you think through, something that you've got actually things
scheduled that you have planned it that you have organized it and that you can actually
improve over time.
You may have fallen into some habits.
The problem with habits is that we don't think through them, oftentimes they can be bad or
they can be good.
When it comes down to it, this isn't something that you have set up.
Now, daily may not be so much of an issue.
Yes, you shower at some point, you brush your teeth at some point.
It becomes an issue over a longer periods of time for things that need to be scheduled
out farther in advance such as in let's just take the week example, cutting your nails.
If you don't cut your nails every week, you may forget to do it until they're too long.
The issue here is let's say you're going to an interview and then you realized right before
you walk in that your nails are too long.
It may seem like a non-issue to most people, but if it bothers you, it's an issue because
you're not going to be as confident.
I know it seems incredibly small.
And it can be avoided by having a routine every two weeks.
Now, get the back of your neck shaved, make sure that you are trimming your nose hairs,
make sure you're trimming those ear hairs.
And believe me your body changes over time especially this is a big deal as, again, we
get farther out, you want to be setting it up with your barber or your stylist.
Going in every three weeks or every four weeks to get a cut.
Make sure that you look really good versus, again, you having to react to an important
situation.
You've got a big party, you want to look great for it, you realized, oh, my barber is busy,
I'm going to have to go this stylist I've never been to.
They end up messing up your haircut.
Again, these things can be avoided when you actually are proactive, you're setting up
a routine and you are not reacting to just what life is going to throw at you.
Grooming mistake number two.
You're too impatient.
I know we live in a society that says give me now.
Instant gratification, it's everywhere.
But, understand when it comes to your bodies, sometimes things are going to take time.
Let's say that you're having issues with your shave and now you start to document, you've
got a shaving routine you actually have a technique that you're working to improve.
But, you realized, hey, I want to go from, you know, the kind that's coming at being
sprayed out of the can and there's alcohol in it.
I want to use something that's actually going to be a lotion.
Well, the first time you shave, it may not be perfect.
It may take actually a week, it may take two weeks, it may even take a month for you to
start to see all of the improvements with this new type of shave.
You can't expect instant gratification.
Anyone that's grown a beard, you know that that first week or two weeks after you start
to grow that beard, what happens?
You get this itchy beard.
All of a sudden you want to shave this thing off because it will not stop itching.
And you're just wondering, my goodness, how can I get past this.
Give it time, be patient.
Now, at this point, guys I want to bring in the paid sponsor of this video,
the Grooming Lounge.
For six years I've been using these products.
I know the founder.
And what I love about the Grooming Lounge is that they're real deal.
They've got barber shops and spas where they actually refine and improve and use all the
products that you can find on their website.
I have tried many of their products, but the big thing is to smell better, to shave better,
and to beard better.
So, I actually did test all of these products.
They sent me the shampoo and it's a great shampoo, it smells amazing.
They've got actually this black pepper right here this body wash, this stuff is really
good.
And the conditioner.
The conditioner is great.
I actually I love their conditioner.
Now, when it comes down to shave better, their shaving cream, second to none.
This stuff is frigging amazing.
And then the Shavior.
I have to admit, I have constantly been using the Shavior for on and off the last six years.
I had, you know, issues with shaving and having a little bit of rash on here.
The Shavior cleared that up.
Now, when it comes to beards, many of you guys know I don't have a beard, however I
understand and I've talked to guys who use this Whisker Sauce, it's good stuff.
And I think that's what key about this company is that they actually put in solid ingredients.
They educated me on the importance of this one.
I first met them years ago.
I'm going to link to them down in the description.
I'm also going to have a discount code down there that you can use on any other products.
God check them out.
I love the Grooming Lounge.
Great company, focuses in on quality.
They are the real deal.
Grooming mistake number three.
Too little too late.
So, you want to be able to see the future, look at men who are ten, twenty, thirty years
ahead of you and look at ones who you admire what they're doing where they're at in life.
They're exactly where they want to be and they've been able to do that because they
look the part they been able to kick butt in consulting maybe in acting maybe in communication,
entertainment, whatever it may be find out their secrets.
But, what you're going to find is a lot of these guys started putting and this goes back
to point number one, the right routines and started actually taking care of their bodies
in their 20's, in their 30's.
Yes, exercise is important, but so as taking care of the biggest organ on your body, skin.
So, a lot of guys, you know they don't do anything with their skin.
They go out they spend a lot of time out in the sun, what happens?
They end up damaging a lot of their skin.
This happens in your 20's, 30's, 40's and then when you're on your 50's, it's a little
bit too late.
There's simple things that you can do, you can choose anti-ageing creams.
You start to use those maybe in your 30's, your 40's.
Maybe look for skin lotions for face lotions that actually have a little bit of sunblock
in them.
This is going to go really far in making sure you don't mess up your skin.
There's other things that you can do, but it comes down to, gentlemen, actually taking
steps early.
An ounce of prevention is worth a pound of cure.
Grooming mistake number four.
Too much.
So, let's talk about too much fragrance.
Guys, you don't want to overdo it.
One spray, maybe two sprays is probably going to be enough.
Pay attention to the concentration.
So, with the toilette, the cologne, the perfume each of them are going to usually have a different
concentration of oil, but practice wearing it before.
Know how much you should wear and how it can possibly the sillage how much, you know, how
much is going to spread to the room because you don't want to walk into a room and have
people running right out because you announce yourself without saying a word. You want to
be discovered when it comes to fragrance.
Now, with hair product.
Don't reach in and use half of that, you know, a huge glob of whatever, you know, pomade
or something like this.
Use a little bit less.
See actually how it looks with your hair.
You don't have to just look like you've got this big -- all this grease up in your hair.
You don't have to go to extremes.
As men it seems like we like to do that.
You know, look at your eyebrows.
Now, it's okay if we're going to break up the unit brow if you're going to get rid of
some stray hairs in and around here.
But, don't be plucking your eyebrows into weird shapes.
On hairstyles, if you're a younger guy I understand maybe you want to try something new.
But, you know when you're in your 40's or 50's and you're going in for a conservative
business interview, don't go to the extreme with designs in the side of your hair.
It's about, you know, not going too much and those are some of the worst grooming mistakes
I see.
Grooming mistake number five.
Drop the martyr mindset.
Now, I respect men who put others in front of themselves who actually are providers and
take care of others.
But, what I don't like is when these guys somehow they they think they're going to be
a martyr and they're just not going to care for themselves, they don't care what they
put on their bodies, they don't care what they put in their bodies.
And what happens is if they really abuse their body, their body isn't going to be around
for, you know, later in life and so, they don't live as long.
Take care of yourself, so that you can take care of others, there's nothing wrong with
this.
And in fact, I mean just a couple of examples.
So, if you've got dandruff, maybe look at a higher end dandruff shampoo which is actually
going to solve the problem because there are different types of dandruff out there and
different shampoos do different things.
So, just because you try one and maybe this one is going to be a little bit pricier, that's
not a problem if you actually take care of yourself.
When it comes to, you know, lotions on your hand, if you work with your hands.
A lot of guys especially they get in their 50's, they get in even in their 40's, they're
working hard with their hands they get cracked hands.
Well, maybe get a nice really good natural hand lotion that solves the problem versus
buying the cheapest stuff, the stuff that, yeah, it sort of does a decent job, but then
you got to keep applying it, you stop using it.
The point being, guys, don't be a martyr.
Take care of yourself, so that you can take care and be around for those you care about.
All right, gentlemen so now it's your turn.
I want to hear from you down in the comments. What would you have added to this video?
What did I miss?
Again, in the description, I'm going to link over to the Grooming Lounge.
One thing I didn't say about the Grooming Lounge and all the products here by the way
were sent to me by the Grooming Lounge from Jack Black's skin essential.
One thing I love is that they stock and they carry they've curated some of the best brands
out there like a nose trimmer from Groom Mate.
And I know I have one of these.
These things are frigging awesome.
They, you know, they don't use a battery, you just twist it and turn it and it cuts
you nose hair or your, you know, your ear hairs.
I love this because it can be packed, it travels easy, it's smaller from dandruff to the ultimate
strength hand lotion salve whatever they call it there.
Guys, a lot of great products higher-end antiperspirants.
What I love about the Grooming Lounge is that they brought together some of the best products.
They pay very close attention to the ingredients.
So, if it's going to be on their website, you can trust that this is a solid product
that's going to really help.
At the end of the day, guys, help you not make any of these grooming mistakes.
That's it, guys.
Take care.
I'll see you in the next video.

Make Smokey Whiskey Sriracha 🌶🌶🌶 at Home - Duration: 11:55.
What's up Youtube?
I'm Jon Lee from Duuck, welcome to Rooftop Cooking.
So we've got some awesome peppers and today I'm thinking that we're going
to make some Sriracha sauce.
For those of you who don't know, it's a super popular hot sauce in US.
We basically serve it with everything, you know, you go to a Vietnamese restaurants,
you go to Thai restaurants, sandwich shops, I think even Mcdonalds had a Sriracha sandwich
like a sriracha Big Mac or something.
Wendys had it We're going to go ahead and get started.
One secret tip that I always do for all of my hot sauces is that I torch them and sear
them first.
because when you sear them, you get this smokey flavor, right?
You can roast them in a pan, you can broil it, but you want to simmer, not simmer it
down, torch it so that you get it nice and crispy on the outside and the inside is a
little soft so you get all of that deep rich super peppery flavor that you can't get
if you just ferment normally, you know.
Instead of sharp, really sharp tangy spicy sriracha, I'm looking for more of a mellowed
down, spicy but a little bit sweet kind of balance in between a hot sauce with a good
kick, and hot sauce that's good enough to serve over everything.
If you thought that sriracha could be served on fries, sandwiches, everything, try mine.
You'll probably eat it with cereal.
A friendly service announcement: 1) Wear gloves when you're working.
2) Don't add oil when torching the sriracha peppers.
3) If you don't like hot sauce, don't make sriracha.
Alright, so you want to make sure you wear gloves because if you don't wear gloves,
you're basically going to mace yourself and that's especially true if you wear contacts
lenses, so you don't really want to do that.
Also, don't put oil when you're torching it, I know a lot of people might think, "hey,
you know, I could roast it better with oil", but it's not necessarily true, you don't
need to and the reason why you want to avoid oil is because when you sear oil, and you
let it sit for a while and let it ferment, it's going to oxidize, and your oil is going
to start tasting rancid and the worst thing is coming back to your sriracha sauce, hoping
to try it out and 3–5 days later, and you eat it and you're like "Ugh, what is this
rancid oil taste?"
So, that's something you want to avoid.
And three, you know, the third thing is, c'mon, if you don't like hot sauce, then why are
you even making this?
You need to be able to at least handle some heat when you're eating this, just because
you have to taste it.
You know, if you're going to make hot sauce and you don't taste it, you don't taste
the product to see how good it is, there's no point in making it.
So, that's it.
Uh, we're going to continue and now we're going to start blending everything together,
and we're going to go ahead and do that.
Alright, so we blended all of our garlic and mixed it in with all of the peppers that we
blended, a nice not yet, not quite a paste, but this is totally fine, because after it
ferments, it's going to soften down.
We're going add some vinegar and then we're going to boil it down to make the final sriracha
sauce.
But that's in 3–5 days so now we're going to add some fish sauce, just a good
amount, you don't want to add like, you don't have to worry about adding too much
at this point, because we're just really not going after taste, just creating enough
saltiness so that we can ferment the peppers well so they don't go bad.
We're going to add a bunch of sugar, again don't worry about the actual amount right
now.
Just add enough in, so that we can actually get the fermentation process started, and
then, once this is well mixed, and delicious, we're going to take a glass jar, and just
kind of toss it right in and you want to look for a jar that's at least double the size
of however much peppers you have because your peppers will double in size when it ferments
so that's something to be, to take note of, to have a big jar that will fit the amount
of pepper you put in.
And there you have it, all of the peppers in here, put it down, take the lid, and then
we close it lightly, don't close the lid all the way, don't close it tightly, and
that's it.
Homemade sriracha, we're going to wait 3–5 days, see you then.
And we're back!
It's been 2–3 days, or more like 7 days and we just finished our sriracha, fermented
perfectly well, take a look at it here, *coughs*
and it's ready.
so we're going to go ahead and take all of the peppers and put it inside
the blender.
so now that we got all of the peppers in the blender, we're going to go ahead and add
a little bit of vinegar.
I'm going to add a little bit of vinegar to the pot, because you can see like there's
still a ton of residue left, so I don't want to waste it.
I'd say a good measure of about maybe, half a cup of vinegar, you could do more or less
but again like I said, just go, just go according to taste because it's pretty subjective
like what you like so.
We've put in our peppers, toss on the lid, and let the magic happen.
It's more or less a paste right now, so you can see.
But that's pretty good, we're going to go ahead and actually strain it, so that we
don't have any of the chili pepper bits Alright, so we've finished straining, we've
got a bunch of sriracha.
What we're going to do next, is we're going to take the sriracha but make sure you
dont throw the seeds away because this, you can use to make another hot sauce, so let's
set it aside.
Alright, and now we've got a bunch of sriracha, we're going to go ahead and heat it up.
Put it on low heat, we're going to try and bring it to a boil.
In the meantime, have a little bit of taste, try it out, and then see what else we need
to add.
Wooo, THAT IS SPICY, but it's good.
it's good.
The only thing that we're missing is, it definitely could use a little bit of sugar,
so we're going to go ahead and add that, and it could probably use a little bit of
salt and then while we're trying to bring it to a boil, I'm going to show you guys
how to make smokey whiskey sriracha.
Pretty simple, I've got myself some smoked paprika here, and I'm going to go ahead
and add a little bit of smoked paprika, this is something that I like doing to my sriracha
hot sauce, because it gives it an even smokier flavor that normal sriracha doesn't have
and it's pretty amazing if you mix it with mayonnaise, and you mix it with anything,
it's delicious.
So, put a little bit of smoked paprika in, still letting it heat up.
You can really smell the pepper right now, and get our whiskey ready.
So we're going to add a little bit of whiskey towards the end, not right now, but towards
the end.
*inhales* Woo, that smells good.
Give this a try, Woo, man.
That kick.
A little bit more sugar, see this is exactly what I mean by if you don't like hot sauce,
don't try to make this because it's spicy.
And you're going to have to taste this.
Add a little bit more salt.
So, the smokiness is really nice, I'm going to add a tad more so that it has a nice, nice
deep smokey flavor.
And then I'm going to turn off my heat, because it's starting to simmer.
Ideally what we're really trying to do is use the heat to blend all the ingredients
together and thicken it so go as, simmer it as long as you want the consistency to be,
so for me, I don't like my sriracha to be too thick, I like it slightly more watery
than the normal sriracha, so I'm probably going to stop pretty soon.
I'm going to add more whiskey, just add a little bit and then give it a taste.
And that is delicious.
There we have it.
We have smokey, whiskey sriracha, homemade, it only took 7 days…. but it's so good,
you can't find it anywhere, anywhere else.
That's it.
Thanks for watching.

Wonder Woman Cosplay - How to make Wonder Woman Gladiator Skirt - Duration: 5:25.
Hey Cosplayers, I am Skyler Ostler and in today Apprenticeship I'll be teaching you
how to make Wonder Woman's skirt from the live action Wonder Woman Film using Craft
foam and a pair of spanks stay tuned!
Before we jump into it, I created a Wonder Woman Cosplay guide for you, complete with
reference images, poses, origin, costume components, and much more!
And the best part is, it is completely free, just follow the link below
to get yours!
Also I have created a kit that includes all the necessary materials for this build and
the links of where to purchase them to make this build as easy as possible check out that
link in the description as well!
Alright, let's get started!
We'll begin by creating the patterns for the four sets of panels that hang down on the
skirt, front sides, and back.
Youll want to start by putting on the breastplate that I taught how to make in a past video
and a pair of spanks, trace along the belt onto the spanks as a reference for gluing.
Then use some painters tape to trace out the front panel of the skirt you can choose how
long you are comfortable with.
Each panel will be made of two pieces, one wider piece and a skinnier piece layered on
top of it that runs longer than the wider bottom layer.
Trace them out on the painters tape and then cut them out.
If you want to do what I did, I just used this front panel pattern to create the left
and right panels and only drew out the back panel as a separate template, but you can
draw them all separately if you'd like.
After you have the main 4 panel patterns created you will then want to create one for the side
using the same method.
Wonder Woman's skirt has these two overlapping leather pieces that run across the hip overlapping
the side panel and slightly overlapping the front and rear panels.
Once you have your panel patterns created, it's time to transfer these shapes over to
the craft foam.
Trace your patterns onto the black 2mm craft foam, it's important to use the black craft
foam as it will save you lots of time when it comes time to paint.
I have the craft foam I used listed in the materials kit linked in the description.
Then cut all of your skirt panels out of the foam, making sure to keep the front and back
pieces of each panel together with their proper pairs.
Next, we need to make this craft foam look like leather to really sell the Wonder Woman
Amazon warrior look!
If you want to see how to do that, pause this video and check out my How to Make Foam look
like Leather video linked above and below!
Then come back here and we'll continue!
Alright, welcome back, now that you have successfully performed the miracle of turning foam to leather,
let's take your leatherworking skills to the next level and begin assembling the skirt
together!
Now let's put them all together, You'll begin by attaching each of the panel pairs together.
By adding about an inch wide spread of contact cement along the top backside of the longer
skinnier piece and a matching spread of contact cement along the top front of the larger underlayer
piece.
Let the contact cement sit for about 5-10 mins (as per bottle instructions) and then
press the two pieces together, repeat this process for each of the four main panels.
Before we move forward take the rear panel and a razor and slit the rear panel under
piece along the lines of the skinnier top layer so that it looks like this.
Once all of the 4 main panels are assembled we will add them to the spanks.
This is where the breastplate belt reference lines you made earlier will really come in
handy.
Adding an inch wide spread of the contact cement to the back top of each panel and a
corresponding strip along where you want to attach it, attach the front, sides, and rear
panels.
Now lastly, add the overlapping side pieces in the same way with a strip of the glue along
the top of each and matching strip of glue where it will go and then attach it.
Make sure to put the lower piece on first and then overlap the upper piece after.
Tadum!!!!
You know have the completed structure of the skirt, now you just need to give it some battle
damage and that slight blue sheen that Wonder Woman's skirt has.
The way I did that was using some metallic blue automotive paint.
Spray some good coats of it on and kind of wipe away parts of it to dull it slightly.
I also did some subtle dry brushing with a Rustoleum light blue in some spots to add
a little more dimension.
VOILA!
You did it!
There is no skirting around the fact that this is one Very Legit Wonder Woman Gladiator
Skirt!!
Nice work!

Fight For Air Supremacy - Bloody April 1917 I THE GREAT WAR Special feat. Real Engineering - Duration: 9:33.
The advances of the war in the air between 1914 and 1917 were enormous and by April 1917
had resulted in two different aviation strategies for the British and the Germans.
Those strategies clashed head on this month, and the result was Bloody April.
I'm Indy Neidell; welcome to a Great War special episode about Bloody April.
The Battle of Arras, the first British offensive of 1917 on the Western Front, began April
9th.
It was the first large scale offensive they had begun since the five-month Battle of the
Somme began last July 1st, though they did have smaller offensives in progress on the
Mesopotamian, Palestine, and Macedonians Fronts.
For the Royal Flying Corps and Royal Naval Air Service, the Battle of Arras did not begin
April 9th, but the week before.
They had been hard at work on photographic reconnaissance, spotting for their artillery,
and just flying air patrols to deny the Germans the opportunity to see the British build up
and preparations for the battle.
Those three tasks were part of Major General Hugh "Boom" Trenchard's strategy of
the offensive.
The primary goal was to support the PBI - the poor bloody infantry - with recon and spotting.
The secondary goal was denying the same to the enemy.
This was the strategy that the RFC had followed at the Somme and during the first phases of
that battle, the new British and French fighters had given the British the advantage in the
air.
They flew the Airco DH2, the Sopwith Pup, the Sopwith 1 1/2 Strutter, and the Nieuport
11, 16, and 17.
By the end of that battle, however, after legendary German ace Oswald Boelcke was moved
from the Verdun sector to the Somme and his teams were equipped with the new Albatros
D.1 fighters, the pendulum of superiority swung back over to the Germans.
The Germans, for pretty much the whole war, had found themselves outnumbered in the sky.
So, out of necessity, the Luftstreitkräfte - the German Air Service - followed a defensive
strategy, and one that sometimes went so far as to forbid pilots to fly past the German
front lines.
A positive result of this was that when German pilots had engine failure, which was a really
common occurrence, they glided down to German held territory and could be back in the air
the next day, while for the allies engine failure often meant becoming a POW.
The key to making a defensive strategy work was the frugal employment of fighter pilots.
At Verdun in 1916, Boelcke had worked out a system to save the strength of fighter pilots.
He had communication set up with units at the front to alert him when they spotted French
planes.
And he had his unit, Fliegerabteilung 62, organized into packs when they attacked.
These two tactics meant that FA 62 only flew when there were targets available, economizing
their force, and had local air superiority when they did thanks to the packs.
The whole German Air Service soon used these tactics.
In August 1916, Boelcke organized the first dedicated fighter squadron - called the Jagdstaffel,
or Jasta.
He also promoted his "Dicta Boelcke", the eight rules for fighter pilots:
1.
Try to secure the upper hand before attacking.
If possible, keep the sun behind you 2.
Always continue with an attack you have begun 3.
Open fire only at close range, and then only when the opponent is squarely in your sights
4.
You should always try to keep your eye on your opponent and never let yourself be deceived
by ruses 5.
In any type of attack, it is essential to assail your opponent from behind
6.
If your opponent dives on you, do not try to get around his attack, but fly to meet
it 7.
When over the enemy's lines, always remember your own line of retreat
8.
Tip for Squadrons: In principle, it is better to attack in groups of four or six.
If fights break up into a series of single combats, pay attention that several comrades
would not go after one opponent
Brian: But these were not the only important rules for pilots and airplanes!
What?
Who is this?
Flo, did you leave the door open again?
Relax Indy, it's Brian from Real Engineering.
I was just doing a video on the a erodynamics and physics of WW1 airplanes.
You know the rules of physics that the pilots also needed to abide to during the war.
That sounds really cool, Brian I will sure to check that out, I always wondered how these
birds would behave in the air.
(Looking to the camera) and you guys should also check out Brian's video over on his
channel!
Thanks, Brian and see you around.
Yup, good luck!
Anyhow, Boelcke would only lead his "cubs", which were handpicked junior pilots in the
squadron, in the air for five more weeks before his death, but the Lu ftstreitkräfte followed
his example the remainder of the war.
Boelcke's best-known student was also the best known fighter pilot of this war or any
other: Freiherr Manfred Albrecht von Richthofen known today as the Red Baron.
He took command of Jasta 11 in the Arras sector in January 1917.
The upgraded and improved Albatross D.III fighters had arrived as well, and this gave
the Germans the performance edge.
The RFC's only new addition since the Somme was the SPAD VII, so their other equipment
was somewhat obsolete.
By April, Jasta 11 shared an aerodrome with three other squadrons about 50km from the
British lines at Arras.
The Germans had 7 or 8 other squadrons scattered around the sector.
The British had dozens of squadrons there and the stage was set for the contest between
the strategy of the offensive and the strategy of the defensive.
The result was Bloody April.
By the end of the month, the RFC had lost 245 aircraft, with 211 airmen either dead
or missing, and 108 becoming prisoners of war.
That month the average life expectancy of a British replacement pilot was 11 days.
In total, the RFC lost about a quarter of its entire strength and was pushed to the
breaking point.
The Germans inflicted these losses at a cost of just 66 planes, making for nearly a 4-1
kill ratio.
Jasta 11 alone was responsible for 89 kills, 30% more than the entire total of German planes
lost, and the Red Baron increased his kill total from 31 to 52 during the month, including
four air-to-air victories on the 29th.
Here is a quote from his book Der Rote Kampfflieger which mentions both Lothar, the youn ger Richthofen
who was also a flying Ace, and their father on that day at the airfield:
"At half past nine he [Father Richthofen] came to our aerodrome.
We just happened to have returned from an expedition.
My brother [Lothar] was the first to climb out of his machine, and he greeted the old
gentleman with the words: "Good day, Father.
I have just shot down an Englishman."
Immediately after, I also climbed out of my machine and greeted him "Good day, Father,
I have just shot down an Englishman."
The old gentleman felt very happy..."
So it would seem on the surface that the Germans won Bloody April, but that's not really
the case, because even in the face of the deadliest of the German airmen, the RFC succeeded
in its mission to provide the PBI with up-to-date photographic recon and artillery spotting,
and the battle was fought in the skies over the German lines, not the British.
Okay, that might be small consolation to the British aircrews, but it made a real difference
on the ground, and from this month onward air superiority began to swing back toward
Britain as the Sopwith Triplane, the Bristol F2B, and by the summer the Sopwith Camel - that's
what Snoopy flew - and the RAF SE5 made their appearances.
As a side note here, one of the German pilots lost during Bloody April was Wilhelm Frankl
of Jasta 4.
With 20 kills, he was the highest scoring Jewish ace for the Germans in the war.
Anyhow, April was a tough month for the British everywhere.
Casualties at Arras were over 100,000 men, in the Middle east they lost at Gaza, in Macedonia
they lost at Lake Doiran, and at sea they lost over 800,000 tons of shipping to German
submarines, the highest monthly total of the war.
And the war would continue to ever increase in intensity and as it did so, there would
come months Britain would suffer greater numbers of losses in the air, but at no other time
would they suffer as great a fraction of total strength lost than during Bloody April.
We would like to thank H Lynn Keith for helping us out with the research for this episode.

After you have the main 4 panel patterns created you will then want to create one for the side
using the same method.
Skirt!!
Nice work!
