10 Ancient Psychological Warfare Tactics - Duration: 8:34.
10 Ancient Psychological Warfare Tactics
Psychological warfare misleads, intimidates, and demoralizes the enemy. This use of threats, propaganda, and subtler strategies has been employed for millennia to influence adversaries' thinking.
Civilians and soldiers alike are targets of this cunning. Those who can control their targets' emotions and reasoning emerge victorious over superior forces.
10. Aztec Death Whistles
Aztec death whistles sound like the scream of 1,000 corpses. Twenty years ago, archaeologists unearthed two of these skull-shaped instruments in Mexico. They were clutched in the hands of a sacrificed man at the temple of the wind god.
Initially believed to be toys, the whistles were used in rituals and war. Designed to sound like a human howling in pain, death whistles were reserved for rare occasions.
Some insist that death whistles were used in sacrifices and to guide the recently deceased to the land of the dead. Others believe that their main use was psychological warfare.
At the beginning of a battle, the whistles unnerving sound would break the resolve of the enemy. Some experts believe that these death whistles allowed listeners to enter a trance state. Aztec physicians frequently employed sound in healing.
9. 36 Stratagems
The 36 Stratagems is an ancient collection of Chinese proverbs on warfare. Most are based on the art of deception and use subtle psychological techniques to undermine an enemy's will to fight.
The work contains proverbs so universal that they have become cliches. It contains sections on Attack Strategies, Chaos Strategies, Desperate Situation Strategies, and many other scenarios.
All modern versions of 36 Stratagems are derived from a ragged copy discovered in Szechwan at a book vendor's stall in 1941.
The work's author and publication date remain unknown. Most experts trace the work's origins to the Warring States Period between 403 and 221 BC.
Some of the proverbs refer to specific events as early as 35 BC. In addition, most experts now believe that there was no single author and that 36 Stratagems was compiled over centuries.
8. Sacred Shields
In 525 BC, the Battle of Pelusium marked Egypt's decisive defeat by the Persians and a milestone of psychological warfare. Led by Emperor Cambyses II, the Achaemenid Persians swept in from the east and exploited the Egyptians' reverence for felines.
The invaders drew cats on their shields. Some speculate that they may have pinned real cats to their protective gear.
The Egyptians worshiped the feline god Bastet and refused to harm their sacred symbol. In Stratagems, Polyaenus insists that the Persian front line contained dogs, ibises, sheep, and cats—all sacred to the Egyptians.
According to Herodotus, Cambyses invaded because he had been tricked by the pharaoh. Cambyses had requested the hand of Amasiss daughter in marriage. Assuming she would become a concubine, the Egyptian ruler disguised the daughter of the former pharaoh in her place.
When Cambyses discovered the charade, he attacked. Polyaenus believed that Cambysess victory was due to psychological warfare.
7. Terror Tactics Of Tamerlane
Born in 1336, Timur the Lame (aka Tamerlane) was a 14th-century Uzbek chieftain. Despite the paralysis of half his body, he conquered Central Asia, most of the Muslim world, and parts of India.
Legends of Tamerlane's terror tactics are legion. Historians estimate that his forces slaughtered 17 million people—5 percent of the world at the time.
He became infamous for building pyramids with the skulls of his vanquished. The technique was intended to spread fear in anyone who dared to oppose him.
Some say that he beheaded 90,000 residents of Baghdad and built 120 pyramids with their skulls. After he defeated Delhi, Tamerlane slaughtered the city as a lesson to India. It took nearly a century for Delhi to recover from the devastation.
After defeating the Ottoman Empire, Tamerlane took the Byzantine gates home with him. He also took the sultan in a cage, which he kept on display in his parlor.
6. Vlad The Impaler
Vlad III (aka Vlad Dracula or Vlad the Impaler) was one of the most adept students of psychological warfare in history. The 15th-century Romanian prince spent much of his youth as a political hostage of the Ottomans.
Although he was treated well, Vlad developed a bilious hatred of his captors. Some speculate that the Ottomans even taught him his favorite method of psychological warfare: impaling.
In 1462, Sultan Mehmet II invaded Vlad's territory. Upon entering the capital, the sultan was greeted by what looked like a forest of Ottoman POWs festering corpses impaled on spikes.
Nearly all records of Vlad were written by his enemies. While far from factual, they provide insight into the fear he inspired. Vlad was forced to find ingenious means of fighting with limited resources. Psychological warfare offered the solution.
It might seem cruel, but it was an effective tactic against a force much larger than his own.
5. Philip II Of Macedonia
Philip II of Macedonia laid the groundwork for the greatness of his son, Alexander. When Philip took the throne in 359 BC, Macedonia was a fractured backwater subject to the whims of foreigners.
In less than a year, Philip quashed all internal threats and set up Macedonia to become an ancient superpower. He was a master of psychological warfare.
When doing battle with the Chalcidian League, Philip destroyed the city of Stagirus. According to ancient accounts, it would have been hard for a visitor to tell that the city had ever been inhabited. The remaining Chalcidian cities surrendered without resistance.
During the Battle of Chaeronea in 338 BC, Philip employed two strategies of psychological warfare. First, he tired out the Athenian and Theban rebels through boredom, forcing them to wait in the blistering sun.
Then he made a false attack, which drew them toward a slowly retreating front line that ensnared them.
4. Genius Of Genghis Khan
Terror was Genghis Khan's greatest tool. He destroyed cities that opposed him—slaying soldiers and civilians alike.
During the siege of Merv, each Mongol soldier was ordered to decapitate 400 inhabitants before burning the city to the ground. The death toll may have been inflated tenfold, but Genghis wanted it that way.
Genghis often exaggerated the size of his forces. He placed dummies on horseback and had each soldier light a string of bonfires at night.
When attacking both Samarkand and Europe, he advanced on fronts over 1,300 kilometers (800 mi), preventing the enemy from knowing his numbers.
Genghiss feigned retreats lured pursuers into a prepared position where archers annihilated them. Without fail, Genghis knew more about his adversaries than his enemies knew of the Mongols.
Genghis exploited this lack of information to create division and fear. He also terrified opponents with camel-mounted kettledrums thundering with Mongol cavalry charges.
3. Suicide Army
King Goujian of Yue reigned between 496 and 465 BC, the latter part of the Spring and Autumn Period that was marked by a conflict with the state of Wu.
During this battle, Goujian had his front line decapitate themselves as a bizarre form of psychological warfare. According to a history of ancient China called the Shiji, Goujians suicidal front was composed of condemned criminals.
However, some believe that criminals sentenced to death should be read as soldiers willing to die. This reflects an ancient Chinese worldview that one would be compensated for sacrifices made during life.
Decapitation might be better translated as committing suicide by cutting your throat. This was a common technique in ancient China. However, others believe that the self-decapitating soldiers are nothing more than a legend.
Either way, after years of struggle, Goujian overcame his adversary and annexed their territory.
2. War Chariots
During the Battle of Kadesh in 1274 BC, Hittite forces used heavy chariots to crash through the lines of Ramses IIs Re division (aka Army of Re), causing chaos and terror.
In contrast, the lighter Egyptian war chariots were manned by a driver and a fighter, usually with a bow and arrow and occasionally a spear.
They could maneuver more quickly than their enemies in heavier chariots, which could allow the Egyptians to dispatch their enemies before the enemies returned to their own side.
Most experts believe that the invading Hyksos introduced the chariot to Egypt in the Second Intermediate Period. By the 15th century BC, Thutmose III had over 1,000 chariots at his command.
These were used against infantry and had an enormous psychological impact on untrained and inexperienced soldiers. By 1000 BC, mounted cavalry replaced the war chariot.
1. Hannibal's Folly
Carthaginian General Hannibal Barca drove the Romans mad with his psychological warfare techniques in the Second Punic War (218–201 BC).
During the Battle of Trebia in 218 BC, Hannibal lured the Roman forces across the Trebia River with an attack of Numidian horsemen.
Hannibal lay in ambush on the other side and slaughtered the Romans, who emerged disorganized, tired, and freezing. At the Battle of Lake Trasimene the following year, he goaded Flaminus into battle by exploiting the Roman general's headstrong nature.
Hannibal's name is almost synonymous with his march over the Alps with war elephants. Curiously, this bold attempt at psychological warfare was actually a blunder. Elephants were not adapted to the cold environment. Those that survived the trek were weak and ineffective.

So, you think you might be trans? | Riley J. Dennis - Duration: 6:43.
So, you've been thinking about your gender a lot recently.
You've been googling information about surgeries and hormones and what it means to be transgender
and what it means to be non-binary and trying to figure out what words fit for you, and
what steps you want to take to transition from there -- if any.
I know how you feel.
I was in your shoes just two or three years ago.
I was confused about what I was feeling and what that meant for my identity and my life.
And I don't talk about that a lot online anymore.
I try to not talk about my personal life as much any more cause holy shit the internet
can be such a heartless, hateful place.
But this is something that I think I really need to talk about, because what I really
could've used when I was trying to figure this out was someone to tell me that there
was hope if I decided to identify as trans.
So now I want to be that for other people.
If you're watching this, and you're questioning your gender, I want you to know that there is hope.
I can't guarantee you anything.
I can't guarantee you that you will be happy, or that you will find a girlfriend or boyfriend
or partner who will love you.
I can't guarantee you that you'll land your dream job, or that your family will accept you and love you.
But I can guarantee you that there is hope.
That these things are not unreachable.
When I was questioning my gender, I thought that if I identified as trans, it would mean
the end of my life in so many different aspects.
I thought I would never find a girl who would love me.
I thought I would never be able to travel.
I thought I'd never be successful in my career.
I thought I wouldn't be able to make friends.
I thought I would never be able to be confident in my appearance.
I thought I'd never feel comfortable in my own body, wearing clothes that I liked.
I thought that it might be worth it to stay in the closet just to ensure that I could
still succeed in at least some of those aspects of my life.
I thought maybe lying to myself and to those around me might be a worthwhile sacrifice
to make sure I maintained a certain quality of life.
But eventually I took that leap.
I decided to be honest with myself and the people around me.
And it has been a journey since then, with some really high highs and some really low lows.
But I'm finally at a place where I feel fantastic in my own skin.
I have friends all over the world who I love and who I rely on.
I have a girlfriend who loves me, and I love her.
I'm doing what I love, and travelling pretty often, and getting invited to cool events
like the GLAAD Gala a couple weeks ago.
At that Gala, I stood on stage and said this:
"As a trans non-binary person, and as a lesbian, I'm constantly working on being the representation
in the media that I wish I would've had as a kid."
And that was a really powerful moment for me.
Standing in front of this huge crowd of important, influential people and telling them all these
aspects of myself that I was once deeply deeply ashamed of.
But if anyone from GLAAD asks, just tell them it was really cool and casual and I'd love
to do it again next year.
I was also invited to Goalkeepers 2017, an event put on in New York earlier this week
by the Bill and Melinda Gates foundation to discuss the progress of the Global Goals.
I definitely wasn't speaking or anything, but I was invited without reaching out to
them in anyway, which blew me away.
Barack Obama spoke, Malala Yousafzai spoke.
It was phenomenal.
And now, on the day this video is coming out, I'm with my amazing girlfriend in Greece
where we're celebrating her birthday for a week.
After this, we'll go back to London for a couple weeks and spend a weekend in Paris
before I head back to LA.
My life is surreal right now.
And I'm so so happy.
I literally never thought I'd be this happy.
But my point of this isn't to brag.
Well, like maybe a little.
But my point is more that there is hope.
I never thought any of this would be possible.
If you've just found my channel recently or this is the first video of mine you've
seen, what I'm doing might seem inevitable, it might seem like who I am and what I do.
But I promise you, just three years ago I wouldn't have been able to even dream of any of this.
And like two and a half years ago ish when I came out, I thought I was abandoning any
hope of being successful or happy in my life.
I was so, sooo wrong.
And one reason I'm kinda nervous about making this video is that I know I have a lot of
privileges that other trans people don't.
I'm white, I'm thin, I'm documented, I'm abled, I live in a pretty progress state,
I'm not rich but I have access to financial resources and health services.
I have a lot of advantages that other trans people don't, and I know that.
And I know it can come across shitty to see such a relatively privileged trans person
brag about their accomplishments online, but I have been through a lot regardless.
Because of my hypervisibility online, I receive transphobic harassment and comments from people
at an unbelieveable scale every single day.
I internalized a lot of that.
There've been really really dark times that I haven't spoken about online, and I don't
plan to speak about online.
But things have been hard.
And I feel like after taking so much shit day in and day out, my happiness and my success
is kind of like a big fuck you to all the people who told me I was an abomination or
that I've never be happy or whatever.
I have so much pride in who I am, and I want to show all the transphobes out there that
they can't harass us into non-existence.
We will be here, and we will exist, and we will be happy, and we will thrive.
And I fully believe that you can get here too.
It might take a lot of time, and pain, and sacrifices, but there is hope.
There are no guarantees, and society in many ways is stacked against you, but being trans
doesn't mean the end of your world.
The future is wild and unpredictable and it might take a bunch of years but eventually
you could get to a really good place.
I just want you to have that hope.
I want you to know that it's okay to identify as trans.
Shit's tough out here, but not impossible.
If you want to stay in the closet, I understand completely, and that's 100% your choice,
but if all you need is a little push, someone to say that there is hope for you if you come
out, I hope this can be that push.
If someone had been around to give me a little hope, I probably could've come out much earlier.
And look, I know this sounds super individualistic.
Like, "If you try hard enough, you can be happy as a trans person!" but that's not
what I mean at all.
There are circumstances out of our control that directly affect our quality of life -- especially
for trans people of color, undocumented trans people, disabled trans people, and poor trans people.
I don't want this to come across as like, "I did this, so obviously you should be
able to do this too!"
Just because one person from a marginalized group can achieve something doesn't mean
everyone from that group can as well.
That's for sure.
But all I want you to know is that there can be hope.
You can be happy.
You can find people who love you.
You can find family, even if they're not related by blood.
You can be comfortable in your body one day.
If you don't have this stuff now, if you don't have this stuff a year from now, don't
blame yourself for it.
It's not like you can be happy just by willing it to happen.
But please try to hold out hope that you can be happy one day.
There are a lot of rights we don't have, and there are still a lot of misconceptions
about us circulating in public, but until all of that changes, we still have to keep
on living life.
And I have to believe that we can carve out communities and spaces where we can be happy.
I hope all of that makes sense.
If you haven't come out yet, take your time, there's no rush.
Make sure you're safe.
But when you can do so safely, I want you to know that you can come out.
In the long run, it could lead to you being so much happier.
I know there's always going to be a fear that coming out could ruin your life, and
I can't speak to your specific situation, but I 100% felt that it would ruin my life,
and it didn't.
There is hope.
I really hope you can have hope.
If you're questioning your gender, I want you to know that whatever conclusion you come
to is perfectly fine, and you're not tied to it forever.
If you decide to come out as a binary trans woman but later decide you're more non-binary,
that's okay.
If you decide to come out as non-binary, but later think you're more of a binary trans
woman, that's okay too.
Choosing a label isn't permanent.
And if you think you migh be trans now, but end up deciding that you're just fine identifying
as cisgender later, that's okay too.
Do whatever makes you feel comfortable.
And good luck.
Remember, trans is beautiful, and there is hope.
I believe in you, and you got this.
So yeah, that's all I had for today.
Thanks so much for watching, and I'll see you next time.

Vehicles of the Cold War S1E6 | SAAB 37 Viggen - Duration: 9:31.
Once upon a time, we had one of the most powerful airforces in the world.
One thousand aircraft,
Runways and landing strips on the roads
Command centrals,
Hangars
Draken,
Lansen,
Tunnan
And the plane that perhaps symbolizes the cold war the most...
But we paid a high price for our neutrality...
A "National trauma" that nobody talks about today.
A production by Mediabruket With support from Sweden's Military Historic Archive and Swedish Military Historic Library
Camera: Jon Jogensjoe Edited by: Orvar Anklew
Host: Melker Becker Producer: Veronica Johansson
Vehicles of the Cold War II
Well, this is obviously a quite weird way
to start an episode.
But, we are on a location with
unbelieveably strict filming rules,
So we are not allowed to film more than this,
At this location.
But, that fits the situation quite well
Because, we are now going to take a look at a "mythical" vehicle
And a real Swedish secret.
Take a look at these vehicles and enjoy the moment,
Because this, this is not something that many people will get to see.
And it's in here that it shall be,
One of the real "protagonists"
of the Swedish cold war
Here is...
A Tunnan...
With a UN emblem...
But this episode won't be about that one
Here is...*Ah*...Here is
A Draken
But it's not the Draken that, this episode
will be about either.
Another Tunnan, the J-29...
And...
Here...
The mighty Lansen
But this episode will not be about it either.
SAAB 37 "Viggen"
And this
is really a vehicle that I remember
from the Cold War. And I especially remember one occasion:
It was when a close relative
Pointed up in the sky when two came flying above us
And he said in strong (A Sweidsh dialect) "Oestergoetska":
"Hey, Melker,
Look closely, because those,
those are our 'spearheads'."
And back then, I of course didn't understand what he meant,
But the way he said it, that was something
that remained in my mind.
First Flight: 1967
Entered Service: 1972
Speed: Mach 2
SAAB 37 Viggen is perhaps the finest
airplane that I know of.
Angular,
sharp
and powerful.
A large bloody rocket, with a steering wheel.
In just two minutes, one would climb to over
10.000 metres (32 808.399 feet).
It was developed during almost 20 years
and over
300 planes were manufactured.
Today you mostly see them on concrete pillars
outsde classical airforce cities.
As memories from a time when we had the 4th
largest airforce in the world, with over 1000
Fighter aircraft.
Well, somewhere in my mind, this would
be a dream to fly, but there aren't any 2-seated '37s
up in the air today.
But that doesn't matter that much, as we shall now
take a look at another thing related to the Viggen and
the Vehicles of the Cold War.
One could say that
it will be about the infrastructure of
the Swedish Cold War.
And those are basiclly related.
Viggen was built for Swedish conditions
and for Swedish tactics. It had
special wings and the engine
had a thrust reverser, which
allowed you to brake quickly and therefore not need a landing strip as long as usual.
Perfect, if
there aren't any real airfields to land on.
Now, we will give you a real little bonus.
I have found some films in an archive,
that I don't think have been shown before.
So enjoy the moment, and
let's continue.
The airforce was our first line of defense
if we were attacked. And it was the "obstacle" that the enemy
would first have to pass.
Therefore, the military was sure that all
military airfields early on would be bombed
to prevent the aircraft
from even leaving the ground.
The tactic to prevent that, and send our
aircraft in the air, was to spread out the landing strips
and runways,
On so called "Road bases".
All around the nation, regular country side
roads were made much straighter and wider.
On top of that, service stations,
and camoflagued driveways were built alongside the road.
And out in the forest, underground bunkers
and command centrals were built as Air Traffic Controlling platforms.
"Good, it's you that was assigned the [something] task."
"Yes, it's completed, and"
The aircraft and air battles were
controlled from larger control centers in an advanced system
and there was even an amount of reserve locations.
During the excersises, the pilots themselves didn't even
know what road base they would land on
after a completed mission.
That made it almost impossible for an enemy
to forecast which road base or road bases
that was being used.
Today, the system with road bases is almost entirely gone.
There are rumors that the governemnt has started to talk
about using the system again.
There are people who have called the
Swedish Airforce of the 1900s a "National trauma".
During the years, the unbelieveable amount
of 600 pilots were K.I.A.
Basiclly without a single
bullet being fired.
On certain years, over 20 pilots were K.IA.
That's almost 2 people per month.
Perhaps this was because they trained hard,
and the excersises were made to look as much as real fights as possible.
And perhaps the aircraft and its components
weren't fully developed when they entered service.
Anyway, the pilots and
their families paid a terribly high
price, for our neutrality
and our defense capability.

ROAD TRIP TO EUROPE | PART 7 - Duration: 13:49.
We packed up our home to our campervan
and went for a 31-day road trip
Over 6000 kilometers and 6 countries in our mind
Europe as our destination
Travel with us
ROAD TRIP TO EUROPE - part 7 -
Sponsored by KABE-ADRIA Oy & J. Rinta-Jouppi Oy Lappeenranta
So we drove yesterday to near Zürich
and came to this camping site
- SWITZERLAND -
- SUNDAY 4th June -
but this was full booked because there are some festivals going on near here
Luckily the owner of this camping site was super nice and let us to stay here and
and helped us to find a spot for us
It was thunder storm last night and weather is now a bit colder
But it's still t-shirt weather, I guess
We left Germany behind yesterday, so it's time to put some stickers on our motorhome
At first, the flag of Germany
next to the Denmark sticker
We have also this Schwarzwald sticker which we bought from the cuckoo shop
We will also put this Blue Tomato sticker
even though they have shops in several countries
but we first visited their shop in Germany
Germany is a huge country
so large
It takes a lot of time to drive through it
Speaking of safety, we felt more safety in Germany than in Denmark
It was surprising - we thought it would have been the other way around
But now: Switzerland!
That festival started already in the morning so that's why there is music playing
- WALENSEE -
When driving Switzerland further landscape changed
There are more and more mountains
We stopped by Lake Walensee
It looks so beautiful
That turquoise color and mountains around the lake
We went to a little walk too
It was some nature path, I think
From here you can take a look of the lake from a little higher
These views are so much more for us than the landscape of Germany
These mountains reminds me of Lofoten Islands
except here are more people and buildings of course
Now I see that lakes and seas are so important to me
I missed those in Germany
So great to have those here, I enjoy
- TRIN -
We drove towards Flims and stopped to
this camping site in Trin
We have planned to visit tomorrow at Rheinschlucht / Swiss Grand Canyon and Lake Caumasee
But first we stay for a night at here
We ate tortillas today (again :D)
We have eaten those many days in a row
but there have left some leftovers everyday
so our tortilla days have just continued and continued
We have also eaten pasta with tomato sauce and lasagne during this trip
We have again eaten only two times in restaurant during our trip
We like to cook our food by ourselves so it's tasty for sure
and you can save a lot of money from your budget that way
And like I said that landscape has changed
it's now so different views here in camping site too
Look at those mountains around the camping site!
Roads here in Switzerland were really good
only when you turn to a smaller road
there might be single line roads or more narrow roads
and locals are driving kinda fast on those roads too
- Monday 5th June -
We woke up to a rainy day
That Trin Camping was nice and staff was super friendly
But sadly they haven't any motorhome services available (like emptying chemical toilet)
So it was a bit difficult for us
Heavy rain started in the middle of the night
and it rained till the morning
Rain drops just pattered to our roof
And because that rain just continued our plans cancelled
Simo would have wanted to go downhill biking here in Flims
- FLIMS -
and we were supposed to go to Swiss Grand Canyon and Lake Caumasee today too
but we had to reschedule the day
But sadly Flims' downhill biking trail was open only today, not tomorrow anymore
so now Simo has to forget that entirely :(
And because of the whole night's and day's rain it would have been too wet and slippery trail over there
We decided to drive to Flims
We are now a little bit higher
This is 1,100 meters above sea level
We found a nice camping site from here
We will spend next night here
Siesta has started to appear here
Offices are closed at siesta hours
and you have to wait to be able to check in
Luckily it's often possible to settle down already and check in later
And raining continues...
We have today just checked our upcoming trip and routes
and watched some series and raining
Now raining just ended for a while and
we are going to a little walk to watch
those alp cows whose cow bells are tingling
And tomorrow we will visit Swiss Grand Canyon and Lake Caumasee
We just wandered around and
I just can't believe how beautiful is it here
even though we are just walking next to our camp site
Those mountains and that mist!
I think tomorrow we will have even more amazing views
Here in Switzerland people have built
little houses around their caravans and has done even stone pavings to their spot
They also gave you a special garbage bag here in Switzerland
We don't know if it's just for the tourists or to the locals too?
- Tuesday 6th June -
We woke up to kinda rainy weather today too
We had to wait till 10.30am
until heavy rain stopped
It's still drizzling a little
but we are now walking to Lake Caumasee
and after that we will continue to Rheinschluch / Swiss Grand Canyon
The weather forecast says it will rain today too but
we hope that it wouldn't be so rainy day
I can see a little flashes of Lake Caumasee already between the trees
and wow how turquoise it looks!
It looks so magical!
Oh, that water is so clear/translucent
You can see a bottom of the lake and fishes
During summer season you have to pay a little fee to get here
But now it was closed and the high season hasn't started yet I think
This lake was much smaller than I have thought
and we didn't know that it's that kind of tourist resort
There are a volleyball field, play ground and restaurant etc.
I'm not sure what I should think about that a nature attraction has turned to a tourist resort (with fee)
Now we are walking by a trail to Swiss Grand Canyon/Rheinschluch/Ruinaulta
There supposed to be some kind of view points up there
This trail was like forest driving road
and now it's changing more narrow and start to steepen
There are a lot of snails here in the forest
Now we are on the top of the hill
and here goes a very narrow trail up here
without any fences
even though there are horrible drop to the ground
- RHEINSCHLUCHT -
So it's a bit scary to walk here
And on these view points there are just a bench right in front of the cliff
It's so scary!
It's such a horrible drop to the ground
but at the same time those mountains are so high
Oh, yikes!
We won't step any closer to that edge because you can never know if
it would slide down or something
But you can see those cliffs of canyon over there
Those look kind of same than those chalk cliffs at Møns Klint in Denmark
and there goes the river
Now it's started to drizzle again
but we will walk still a little further
We have already stopped by two view points
and now we reached out the 3rd one
and this looks like a proper view point!
It's huge and extends over the canyon
Let's see if we have courage to climb over there
Piia: "Oh, don't you have the courage to climb there?"
Simo: "Try it by yourself"
Simo: "Take a look"
Piia: "I can't go"
Piia: "Are you going to go?"
Simo: "No"
Piia: "Me either!"
Simo: "I don't have the courage"
Piia: "We won't go"
We tried to climb to that view point
It's metallic, wet and slippery
so we don't have the courage to do it! :D
We just can't!
It extends over the canyon and it's so scary! :D
We are both a bit scared of heights
so we just can't do it
We will pass it
Write on the comments if you have climbed to there!
Now we will walk by some forest path back to the city
and go to a grocery store and
cook some dinner
It's started to rain again
Luckily we survived with very less rain today
But when we step in to our motorhome
started enormous thunderstorm and heavy rain!
And thunderstorms come very quickly straight above you in here
Oh how good luck with the weather today!
