The job is mostly about giving information to pilots

about weather and runway surface friction

Additionally we send information about the weather to the MET office

every hour on the hour, 24/7

the information is then sent all around the globe

This panel is all about weather information

We have the wind direction for both ends of the runway

This is the south end, which is called 04 and on the right we have the north end, 22

We don't necessarily have the same wind direction on both ends, although that is most common

Here in the middle of this circle we have the wind speed

There is always a lot to do in winter services out on the runway

It is always ready for the aircraft, 24/7, 365 days a year

And almost in all weather conditions

We've been seeing an increase in fuel stops of ferry flights

Most often the smaller types

But we also have bigger aircraft here for fuel stops

We often get diversions because of weather from the Faroe Islands

And of course the domestic private flight, especially during summer time

and then there are the salmon fishers

that come here

to park their shiny metal birds for a week or so

Now we are doing a runway inspection

Luckily the icing that was on the runway tonight is gone - it has melted away

We do this before each landing or take-off

We don't have that many flights so we need to inspect the runway each time

This doesn't take that long, we drive 2 km each direction

We handle everything that needs to be done to operate an airport

We check the runway, we are the fire and rescue team

and we take care of the necessary maintenance of buildings and equipment

We also take care of other airports here in the East

But in the winter, it is mostly about this airport and keeping it open 24/7

as I say we are responsible for maintaining all the equipment, buildings and fences

so this is a very diverse job

We launch a weather balloon once every 24 hours

This is the weather instrument

It measures temperature, moisture and pressure

In Europe, 800 balloons like this are sent into the air every 24 hours

two of those at Keflavik Airport and one here at Egilsstadir

and then all around Europe

Now it is connected

and now it has been activated

It is filled with Helium and as it gets higher the balloon gets up to 7 meters wide

LIS 100 Introduction to Week 2 - Duration: 3:25.

Last week, we established definitions of research and information literacy to better our understanding

of what we are hoping to accomplish in this course.

This week, we'll be focusing on the link between reading and information literacy.

Why are we doing this?

We often think of reading as something we learn as a basic skill, but reading and how

we think of ourselves as readers is complex.

Everyday reading may include instructions on how to put together IKEA furniture, a menu

at a restaurant, a news article or a manual of new procedures at work.

We read differently in school contexts depending on whether we're reading, our math textbook

or a poem for English class or a haiku for fun.

We can use similar reading strategies in different contexts, but what we focus on may be different.

Being able to engage in self-reflection is important to understand why we read the way

we do.

We can't expect to read a chemistry formula the way we would a psychological study.

One may be much easier for one person to understand than another.

So it's important to really know who we are as readers, to be able to identify what comes

easy and what is more difficult for us.

This is why you'll be reading about reading comprehension and asked to reflect and journal

about your reading history.

How do we link reading comprehension and information literacy?

As educator Trevor Bond states, "An information literacy based approach to learning will target

equipping learners to be able to read to learn, to read for information, to read to build

knowledge and understanding."

Information literacy is not only finding the information we need, but making sense of how

we use it which includes being able to read it.

In college, you're often asked to consult outside sources.

How we read depends on what our information need is and how we will use the source.

This is why you will be completing the determining information needs tutorial and reading about

the BEAM model.

The model asks to reflect on how we will be using a source and for what purpose.

If you just need background information for a report, for example, for an explanation

of what "bacteria" is you may consult an encyclopedia.

You probably won't read very in depth but may skim for facts and overall knowledge of

the subject.

Information literacy is a form of applied reading.

In the coming weeks, we'll learn more about learning to evaluate and find information.

You'll get a glimpse of some of the resources available to you by visiting a library this

week.

remastered maps for black ops 3 zombies

now I made a video on this before I

called it the dlc body zombies tease it

was basically traer giving out an

artwork that was pushing you know

zombies and it was showing you know the

monkey bomb and I said like Clank Clank

or something like that basically it was

an artwork for t-shirts and like cups

and stuff like that I personally it's

still thinking that it was a tease to

possible more zombies maps or DLC in

general coming to black ops 3 and today

we have even more rumors two days ago a

Mexican retailer appears to have a

posted of a small listing in their store

that says new DLC zombies chronicles are

subtle like that it was basically we're

basically suggesting that its new DLC

come into black ops 3 basically it was

supposed to be a bundle black ops 3 game

with this new zombies chronicles VLC and

it says is coming to ps4 and Xbox

although although like it's not

confirmed itself right and there's no

release date there's no confirmation of

a by treyarch but it's most likely gonna

happen I'm gonna tell you guys that

right now I have a strong feeling that

they're gonna push something on I really

really hope they do ok kool Duty is dead

we all know that dlc 2 lasted for a

while after the walker but in my opinion

i mean i haven't played it honestly so i

can't really judge but i'm not at

scolding right now i just got overwatch

actually i've been playing the shit out

of that but anyways like I was saying I

back for black ops 3 it's really

something really fun remastered zombies

zombies chronicles from black ops 3 it

was spotted by a Reddit user and it was

on the cod zombies reddit the text isn't

polishes you know it's a Polish retailer

site and it means that we can't specify

from this images polish were right here

is that it says black ops 3 okay zombie

chronicles treads on these and remaster

eyes a dose which I'm guessing is 3
