This is Melvin see Melvin learn how to set up a studio in his home
See Melvin how to light. See Melvin learn how to make money in photography next on the slanted lens
All right, so Melvin this is the room. -
Yes it is -
So tell me what your vision is
What do you want to do? You have some thoughts?
This is a my media room in my home and I want to create a studio
Where I can do my pictures where I don't have to go out and rent a studio. Basically.
Perfect. Okay
well
Let me tell you my first kind of initial thoughts looking at it here
The bevels of the ceiling are gonna cause a little bit of a problem for us
but I don't think a huge one the fact that they're beveled won't bother you is for your soft boxes and things because if you
Push the static round against the wall. It's not gonna bump into that bevel. Its boxes are gonna stick out in front of it
Just enough. I think okay might be a little bit of a problem
You may want to favor this side
As far as lighting but you don't want to be tied in to always having to put your softbox on the same side
Okay, I think you can do both sides. First thing I would do here is I would paint the two side walls white
Okay reason being is that now those become you've got a little bit of a color here?
It's got that warmish tone
Which is what light bouncing on that warmer stone is going to give a little bit of warmth from that reflection
Okay, so let's just get rid of that by paying these white
Should I paint a coffee or a flat definitely flat what I flat like a okay?
Now that will become a nice kind of flat reflector
So if I set a box up on the side, we're like a figure here
Well, that's gonna bounce off the white bounce in back to the person. Okay?
Now that could be good or bad because sometimes it's just too much
Bounce, you know and then the ratios are just too it's like 1 2 1 it's like just over lit. Mmm
So we're gonna put a white a black curtain upon each wall
Okay, so that now gives you the option if you put your light up here
You can now draw those curtains back get a little bit of bounce off that white
Okay
What's nice about that in a smaller room like this is you don't have to set up a reflector always on this side you can
Use the wall as that reflector or you can do that either side - yeah either side so you can switch it to either side
You want to I wouldn't paint the back wall
Leave with that warm tone. You're gonna be putting C Lass's in front of it
Anyway, you might want to roll to seal this up
But just Julius, you know, who knows the last thing you want to talk about is the floor, okay?
It's hard. If you're gonna do a full full-body shot to have carpet because when you walk down the Seine listen
Just it crunches the seamless. It just doesn't really work, right
I think the best thing what I would do is I would just lay get three sheets of plywood down
4x8 plywood because this way this room is 13 by
11 perf width wise so we got 12 12 foot 8 foot back
Which is perfect to be able to roll your seamless out on it
Okay, and now you can you put your just lay them down tape them
You can roll your seamless out in this perfect. Okay. Have you seen you start filming on eat?
My scenes come out further then just pull them forward a little bit. Oh, okay. Now you've got a nice pace for your floor
And remember on when you shoot something like this is something really important
Those you have your your angle of view your photography or your camera's angle of view
And that's really controlled by the background
Okay, so that angle of view goes out it goes in this like a funnel back to the camera
Okay, so you're gonna see the entire background?
But now you don't see anything in these triangular corners right and left. That's where your lights go
Curtains curtains everything like that
So you're really from the cameras point of view if I camera reason right here to a camera it sees out like this we see
Our background so all these areas on the side. So you're not gonna use that much of this plywood up front
It's mostly good it just mean but you can put your stands on it and it'll work out nice
You can roll your seamless out on it. Okay?
The room is a little shallow for a full body without having to be on a pretty wide lens
Okay, but the one thing that we do have a door here and with that door we could do this
I can set it you stand there. Mm-hmm. I can move myself
So if I'm trying to get a full body on you, I'm not gonna get it here
I'm gonna have to step out this door about five or six feet out of the door
And then at that point I can get the full body. Yeah
Okay, add another ten feet. Okay easily another 10 feet
I just stepped out the door to the camera right side here. You can easily add another 10 feet in that view
Okay
and have your mama just work off to this side like from that side into your white or black here and
You can start using that run there. Okay, maybe your wife wouldn't mind if you just knock that door. I?
Made a little adjustment there
So I've been in Houston for a few days now and where I'm not gonna say exactly where we're at
But I've got a little sticker to put on my case and I'm gonna roll this case down the staircase here
We're gonna launch it into space for say that's really saying where we're at
But we're gonna put on our case right here little sq. Feet case a little sticker
action there
Yeah like that baby now, let's throw this inside
And I'm gonna keep it rolling and I'm gonna roll this down the stairs
Still rolling without any problem there if I get myself focused here we'll be in good shape and then
There we go
Still working still working absolutely fine and looking good SKB case
ready to rock and roll
now I'm not saying we're today but
That's maybe where we were
Okay, so we just got back here this morning and
You've been busy. Yeah, I just kind of tidied up things. I put the curtains up
Put the clamps on to make sure we got the elbows for the yep. So, yes, the one thing we talked about
This morning was because of this of the space and the the tightness of the space here. I would put a plate up there
In this corner, and I would put a 3/8 inch
On it a 3/8 inch plate you can buy them on
Amazon gonna be an H you know and
Just shoot into the wall
And there's just a place you can put a light in each one of the corners so you can put your rim light
From behind and you can hang it up in the in the ceiling the upside of that is a saves you space
Right the downside of that is it's always in the same place
And that that limits what you're doing a lot, okay
So using a stand that corner just gives you the ability to move it and to adjust it and do different things with it
well, the nice thing in the next step for you is
If you start to use continuous lighting and LEDs or something like that guys
Then you get you see exactly what its gonna do. Okay, and it makes it a lot easier to understand where lights go
Okay, where's when you start using flashes?
Flashes, you don't see it unless you take a picture you see in the camera, correct?
Well, we can start with we use my LED. I've got an incredible LED here
Okay, maybe down and get a shot of it, but it's the Intelli tech and it's called there a light cloth
But that's an expensive light for you for what you're starting out with. Okay, you'd be better off to
Just for the very first thing you get
The lights that we talked about in less than I did on setting up a home studio that we got from Lowe's
Okay and check out all those lights are just an easy. There's a one there
It's kind of a round bowl and it's a softbox basically really as you like
But check that let's now that'll give you some pointers on that. Okay, but for today's let's set up with your strobe
Let's let's make your strobe work
All right, and then as soon as we get a quick shot here
We're gonna do a quick shot something very moody
Then as soon as we get that shot, then we're going to just sit for two seconds
So I'm gonna tell him what I think he needs to do to
start his photo business cuz there's a couple of steps and he's doing
To start to make this a commercial venture for him. We'll talk about that real quick
We'll get a couple stools and just wrap it up on that. So, alright, let's get it. Let's get a shot
So let's get a stool here and let's get your light in here and let's go to town. Okay
So here we have it we've set Melvin's studio up for him we've got curtains on the side
Yeah, the place put seamless is in the back. He's bringing flooring in gonna do some painting
You're gonna do some video for us right as soon as this is all done
Yes, just some panning videos and just show us what's done here
And then I want you to do a shoot in here take a picture of your wife or something
Just do a shoot that when we're gone and send us some of those pictures
All right, one of the pictures I did at me as well
We're gonna show this okay as part of the lesson, so I went to how to set up the studio
We've gone through just some simple lighting techniques using a very small
inexpensive
Speed light by a single light with a reflector
So you can really work in the space and do a lot of interesting things in this space. Just that that one light
Shouldn't be a lot of fun. But now I'm gonna give you a little bit advice
All right about you said it would be great if you could make this in to a living and make money on it
Yeah, there's one simple thing you have to do
actually, I'm gonna say too but we'll start off with number one is I want you to think about
What is it out there in the world that people do?
That is interesting to you
So find something that you are interested in photographing
That people are going to pay for that's headshots senior portraits
Portraits of babies portraits of animals animals kit animals is a great one
I mean find something like that you really like
Okay and start focusing on that and make that your Instagram feed and shoot a hundred of them
I I want you right now in this space. You should shoot a person a day at least, okay
I mean you have the space you've got the equipment and you'll just keep learning just do one a day one a day and
Try to make them look really interesting and fun and and just really nice images
They're just these little niche markets that give you a reason to exist and start instagramming those get them up
Shoot one a day and pull one up on Instagram a day becomes your beginning point and you're you're kind of you're launched
Okay, people look at that and they'll either go man. He doesn't know that much or they'll go
You know what? I love what this guys doing? Okay, that person's gonna reach out to you and go
Hey, I love what you're doing when you take a picture of me. Well, sir, our next phase is
You start taking pictures of people who are reaching out to you
Then the so the first phase is you reach out to people try to get people then you try to find people
if people that are following your Instagram reach out to them when you see people that look really
Interesting to photograph reach out to them say hey, I'd love to do a shoot with you here and Cyprus outside of Houston
But have you come and do a shoot with you?
Okay, you know and so you start shooting with them and then the last stage is you start charging people. Maybe it's
$75 for a set of images. Maybe it's you know, you get that up to 150
You know 250 first seven and then he's you know
A head shot people should be charging $1,200 for a setting, you know when you really get to where you're supposed to be
Okay
so anyway
I hope you learned some things in there today about how to set up your studio how to do some simple one
kind of light setups to start shooting and then just some tips on getting out there and starting to create your own brand and get
People to follow you to be able to create your own world doing photography
This can be a part-time thing you do
It can be a fault that work into a full-time thing can just be a hobby thing
It really depends on what you want to do with it
But remember that principle find somebody who's gonna pay you to shoot what you are shooting. So keep those cameras rollin keep on clickin

Meet Kevin P. Michaels, MD, MPM, Occupational/Environmental Medicine | Ascension Gulf Coast - Duration: 2:53.
Hi, I'm Kevin Michaels and I'm an occupational medicine physician.
Probably when I was in elementary school or high school, I saw TV shows and said that's
what I want to be.
I take care of companies that have workers doing regulatory medical exams where we just
... they may have an exposure in the work place or a potential exposure and we evaluate
them to make sure they stay healthy and that they're not suffering any consequences from
what they do in their day-to-day job.
Just a variety of patients.
I never really wanted to be stuck in a clinic.
Occupational medicine allows me to see patients in a clinical setting but also deal with supervisors,
either on the telephone or going to doing a work site visit.
A lot of times it's just looking at what the patient actually does day to day as a job.
And it just kind of creates a more rounded picture of what I'm doing to take care of
that person.
I want to be their advocate but I'm balanced between advocate for the patient and an advocate
for their company, and it's a balance between the two.
In medicine, we always want to advocate for the patient, but at the same time, I'm in
a field where I have to balance between the two and I need to do what is right for the
companies.
I want to be fair on both sides.
I've been doing a lot of work around the house.
But prior to that, one of my hobbies, I kind of picked up along the way is about 40 years
ago, my grandmother taught me how to knit, and probably 10 years ago, I probably picked
it up and kind of got addicted to it and just kind of ... It was something, a quick ... You
make something and you can see the fruits of your labor and so I did a lot of knitting,
making blankets, and for a while there, I did prayer shawls that I would donate to the
church until they had enough of them.
I just kind of backed off from there and started making blankets for different things.

Cowardly Marco Rubio Admits That Republicans Are Too Weak To Stand Up To Trump - Duration: 3:34.
Republican Senator Marco Rubio has finally admitted why Republicans refuse to stand up
to Donald Trump.
It's not because they agree with him a 100% of the time so there's nothing to stand up
to.
No, no, no, no.
Rubio says that they disagree with him, you know, sometimes, but they won't stand up to
him because of the media.
Now, here is the exact tweet that Marco Rubio sent out explaining his position here.
He says, "Many Republicans won't criticize Trump even when they don't agree with him
because it means siding with the media that never cuts him a break, turns even little
things he does into an act of evil, are also unfair to them and in the end will attack
you anyway."
If we can make a little bit of sense out of Rubio's word salad here, "are also unfair
to them."
That little clip there.
I'm assuming Rubio doesn't want to attack Trump because the media also attacks Trump.
So if he is attacking, then he's on the same side as the media that also attacks Rubio.
So Rubio won't attack Trump if the media is attacking Trump, because he doesn't want to
side with the group that's also attacking him because he's afraid of the attacks.
Then he says, obviously they attack you anyway.
That part makes perfect sense more so than that previous little snip, but Rubio is admitting
that Republicans aren't going to stand up to Trump, even when they disagree with him,
even when they see him destroying this country because the media is still going to be mean
to them and to him and to everybody.
If only that gosh darn media wasn't so hurtful to the feelings of precious little snowflake
Republicans like Marco Rubio, maybe they'd stand up to Donald Trump.
Maybe they wouldn't let him continue to destroy this country.
Maybe he wouldn't allow him to enact these tariffs that are driving people out of business
in this country and wrecking the economy, but it's all the media's fault, right.
It's the media's fault that Marco Rubio doesn't have big enough testicles to stand up to big
bad Donald Trump, because that's what we're talking about at this point folks.
It has nothing to do with the media.
This is Marco Rubio trying to play both sides of it as he has brilliantly done ever since
Donald Trump became president, and he's admitting that he is too weak and too spineless and
too gutless and too cowardly to stand up to a man that he knows is absolutely ruining
everything great about both this country and everything about Rubio's Republican Party.
Not that there's anything great there to ruin, but Rubio knows what kind of damage he's doing.
He just doesn't have the fortitude to stand up to Trump or to even get a group of Republican
senators to stand up to Trump to make him stop or try to rein him in.
Rubio's tweet here is a great example, and I know Rubio is not up for reelection but
plenty of these idiots are, of why everybody needs to go out and vote.
I don't want you to print out this tweet.
I want you to keep it with you in your pocket or maybe take a screenshot of it and keep
it on your phone.
The next time Donald Trump does something horrible and Republicans remain silent about
it, I want you to pull up that little picture of this tweet, and just remember that Marco
Rubio is admitting that he and his fellow Republican colleagues are too terrified to
stand up to the man destroying this country.

Big Brother Recap: Season 20 Premiere — [Spoiler] Wins First Challenge - Duration: 12:22.
Shrieks, lies and "bro!"s abounded Wednesday as 16 new Houseguests entered the Big Brother house to kick off Season 20
Like all good seasons of Big Brother, the lying began immediately.Steve Arienta, for example, decided it was best to conceal his past as an undercover narcotics detective for the NYPD, opting instead to masquerade as a mild-mannered mechanic and family man
(To be fair, that last part is actually true. And the dude loves bubble baths.)For the most part, though, the season's initial deceptions revolved around Houseguests concealing their intelligence behind their hotness, or vice versa
Cybersecurity engineer Brett Robinson, for instance, decided that as long as he doesn't wear his glasses, no one will suspect that his gorgeous head also contains a gorgeous brain
On the flip side, self-proclaimed "dweeb" Scottie Salton intends to hide his secret athleticism behind the persona of a 26-year-old man who's never been kissed
And considering the boner he popped upon meeting Vegas entertainer Rachel Swindler, I don't think he'll have any trouble convincing anyone
(Wait a second… the woman from Vegas is literally named "Swindler"? Talk about on the nose
)There was also plenty of flirting during the season's first two hours, and even a hint of heartache, as professional welder Sam Bledsoe lamented that cut-as-a-button JC Mounduix is "part of the LGBGT community," and therefore she doesn't stand a chance
(I don't know what to tell Sam first — that there's only one "G" in that acronym, or that JC said he needs subtitles whenever she speaks because of her thick mountain accent
)But the gang barely had time to get acquainted before being summoned by Julie Chen, who revealed that technology is "taking over the Big Brother game" this season, telling the Houseguests to prepare themselves for "high-tech twists, upgraded powers and punishments, and the most tech-tacular competitions ever
"And Chen wasn't lying — the season's first competition was pretty damn tech-tacular
She introduced the Houseguests to the B.B.Supercomputer, where they were set to battle each other for the power to save themselves (and seven others!) from elimination
But a technical malfunction caused the computer to crash, separating the Houseguests into two groups
The first group waded through a bunch of crap in search of hidden keys ("Bro, it's disgusting in here!" Brett, aka "Brohann Sebastian Bach," exclaimed
"It's like my frat house after a rager!") Meanwhile, the second group faced off in a bungee-related challenge to spell out the word "Houseguest" using giant blocks
As the first person to find her key in Group 1, Angela Rummans proceeded to the final part of the competition, facing off against Chris "Swaggy C" Williams, the first person to spell his word in Group 2
Swaggy attempted to strike a deal with Angela, ensuring that they'd both be safe regardless of who won the competition, but she surprised him big time by saying that her loyalty is to the seven people with whom she entered the house — aka not Swaggy
"Cool," he told the camera."My ass will win the competition and not keep you safe at all! You better remember that
"As promised, Swaggy entered the competition ready to eat Angela alive — or at least remain standing on his surfboard longer than her — and he did, earning the season's first big win
But Chen threw him a little victory curveball, informing him that he couldn't save individual Houseguests, but rather choose two of the four move-in groups to escape elimination
"Now all of the power is in Swaggy's hands," he mused."And I get to control everybody's fate — it's marvelous!" (In case you couldn't tell by his monogrammed "Swaggy C" shirts or the fact that he constantly refers to himself in the third-person, this guy's a little bonkers
And I'm a fan.)In the end, Swaggy chose to play by Angela's own rules, saving all of the people with whom he entered the house: Angie "Rockstar" Lantry, Brett, Rachel, Scottie, Haleigh Broucher, Kaycee Clark and Faysal Shafaat
Assorted thoughts… * I'm kind of obsessed with the fact that Sam was turned into an actual robot (until the first live eviction) as punishment for coming in last place
* Speaking of Sam, how does her welding family not already have its own TLC reality show?! * I kind of love lifeguard Tyler for straight-up admitting, "My biggest weakness is my brain
"* Question for the group: Which liberal Houseguest will be the first to clash with Winston Hines, whose love for guns is matched only by his love for his dog Dixie
* I'm also curious about everybody's thoughts on professional bro Brett. So ridiculous… but so pretty… but so obnoxious… but so pretty

Andrew Zimmern Cooks: Barbecue Chicken - Duration: 4:00.
Hey everybody! Welcome back today, barbecue chicken. The first thing that
I've done is, I've taken these dark quarters. I've brined them in a very
simple brine, with herbs and sugar and
salt and water and let them dry, on this
tray in the refrigerator for a couple of
hours. So I do want to season them, I do
want to oil the tops of these, to help
that chicken fat caramelize. And I've
already cleaned my grill, just rub some oil here. And you'll notice coals on one
side, and chicken on the other side so that I can actually smoke my chicken.
Which is going to give me some of that traditional barbecue technique. So all
I'm going to do, is lay these with the thinnest end of that chicken leg
furthest away from the heat. Next thing we want to do, is when add some smoke
these are Applewood chips.
Flip open my lid.
If you have a grill with a thermometer on it, place it over your chicken.
Normally, we leave vents that are open,
here we want to hold in smoke, I want to
shut that top vent. We have our smoke you
can see that smoke action happening.
We're gonna get a lot of smoky flavor in our chicken because of that. We're at
like 325 degrees to start. We can leave
this there for half an hour and watch
how the temperature falls from 325 this falls down to 200 degrees. After a half
an hour we may need to add another 10 to 15 minutes of cooking time. The fun part
about barbecuing, smoking, working the grill is that you're manning a fire.
taming that system is the art that we all love about cooking outdoors, over
wood or charcoal. Here we have all of this beautiful chicken, it still has
about 15 minutes to cook it's smoked beautifully. So all we want to do is lift
our little lid here, push these coals to
the side, add some of our hot coals to
this. Put this on except, this time I'm
going to open our top. We're back up to
about 425 - 450 degrees. After the application of that heat with that new
coal bed, and one thing that you can do,
is you can start to move these around,
and go over direct heat. Monitoring these
you know, we're probably going to want a
total of about another 10 minutes of cooking time over direct heat to
actually get these where we want to be. Colorwise, texturewise, skin
brittleness-wise, exactly what you're looking for, right? We're gonna be
flipping these over onto the skin side. Now if you notice here, the meat is
starting to pull away, the tendons are breaking, and I can see liquid right here
in these little pockets, actually boiling away. So I know that this is cooked on
the inside I've got some nice crustiness. We haven't incinerated our birds we have
a beautiful, dark, mahogany brown, you can
just glaze them, a little bit. I love that
barbecue sauce flavor profile, with the molasses and the chilies in there sort
of on the bird. 45 more seconds to kind of let that set.
let it rest for 5-10
minutes, and then dig in! So of course, the
proof is in the pudding: absolutely
perfectly cooked, dark meat, super juicy.
I'm not gonna lie to you, that's the best thing I've
cooked in a long time, and I cook a lot.
I'd put this up in the barbecue contest any
day of the week. You're gonna love this!

Adam Schiff Tells Republicans To Wake Up And Do Their Jobs - Duration: 4:40.
Mr. Schiff: Mr. Speaker, I rise
in opposition to this
resolution.
If this was oversight, I would
be in strong support of any
effort to seek production, but
it is not.
This is not oversight.
It is collaboration with the
executive masquerading as
oversight.
Or if this is oversight, it is
oversight of the most
obsequious kind.
It is oversight of how may we
serve you, dear president.
It is oversight that asks, what
is your will, dear president?
Oversight that says, we're not
worthy, dear president.
It is oversight that says, we
shall seek but you shall find,
Mr. President, because what we
obtain we shall provide to your
legal defense team or we shall
selectively leak or
misrepresent in your service.
It is oversight in the nature
of not desiring an outcome, not
desiring the production of that says, we're not
worthy, dear
documents but rather the
production of a fight, the
production of a pretext to give
the dear president a pretext to
fire rod Rosenstein or Bob
Mueller.
I have served on the
intelligence committee now for
almost a decade.
And while I cannot disclose the
number of FISA applications
during the course of those 10
years, I can can tell you the
number of times that my
Republican colleagues have
sought the underlying
investigator materials behind
a specific FISA application.
And that number is one.
That case is this case.
And that case just happens,
just happens to implicate our
dear president.
It is not that there are no
areas that call out for
oversight right now.
There are too many to count.
Why is it that after
sanctioning Z.T.E. For
violating Iran sanctions and
slighting North Korea
sanctions, the president
abruptly changed course out of
an ostensible concern for
Chinese jobs?
Is it because the Chinese
invested $500 million in a
trump branded property?
That is worthy of oversight.
Is the first family seeking to
do business with gulf or other
allies while making U.S.
Policy, is U.S. Policy for
sale?
That is worthy of oversight?
Is the president seeking to
raise postal rates on Amazon to
punish "The Washington post"
and suppress the freedom of
that is worthy of oversight.
But none of this is oversight.
Speaker Boehner recently said
that the Republican party was
off taking a nap somewhere.
If that is so, then despite the
best efforts of our capable
ranking member, Elijah
Cummings, the government reform
committee that should be doing
this oversight is in the midst
of the deepest slumber.
Wake up, my colleagues, and do
your jobs.
Wake up and end this duplicity
attack on the department of
justice and the F.B.I. And our
special counsel because this is
surely not oversight.
It is not what oversight looks
like.
But it is what an attack on the
rule of law looks like.
It is what happens when we
whittle away our democracy one
piece by terrible piece.
When this chapter of our
history is written, it will
condemn the actions of a
president who little
understands or respects the
institutions of our democracy.
But it will reserve some of the
harshest criticism for this
congress that enabled him.
This congress that new its --
knew its responsibility but
failed to live up to it.
Wake up Republican party, wake
up my colleagues.
The country needs you.
May I have an additional 30
seconds.
Mr. Nadler: An additional
minute.
Mr. Schiff: I thank the
gentleman.
The speaker pro tempore: The
gentleman is recognized for one
additional minute.
Mr. Schiff: Wake up, my
colleagues.
True oversight when the
president occupies the same
party as the
Mr. Schiff: Wake up, my
colleagues. Majority in
congress requires that majority
to put country over party.
It is incan'tible of principle

Building Your Fan Family on YouTube - Duration: 3:46.
Building your fan family on YouTube.
Music is often a journey artists and their fans take together.
After all, fans who feel a personal connection are more likely to share videos
and help expand the reach of your music.
YouTube can help you communicate with your fans more easily
Replying to your fans in the comments is a proven way to build an invested community.
That's why YouTube has tools to help manage the conversation.
Pinning a comment is a great way to do this.
As a first comment your fans see, something in a friendly or conversational tone
can make commenters feel more welcome and appreciated.
You can also pin your favorite comments
or the answer to a popular question at the top of your comment thread.
It can also help steer the conversation in a certain direction.
Of course, nothing beats replying back.
Fans love to hear from you directly.
You can use the Comments Report to see which videos are getting the most attention.
Too busy to reply from a computer?
The Creator Studio App allows you to respond on mobile.
If you don't have time to respond directly, Hearting a fan's comment can make their day.
Hearts can only be given by Channel admin, so fans will know it's from you.
It's a good strategy to reward your most loyal fans.
You can Like or Dislike comments, as well.
And they'll even get notified when you take one of these actions.
It can be helpful to set expectations within your community.
Like letting them know when you typically respond to comments.
Managing the comments is a big task, and we understand if you need some backup.
YouTube lets you set up different roles for others to help.
Channel Managers can reply to comments for you.
And Comment Moderators can flag and remove inappropriate comments.
Sometimes comments may not be right for your community
You can use a Block List to screen out certain words.
After being added to a Block List, any comments featuring those words
will need to be approved before appearing.
Want more control?
You can also remove, report or hide comments on your channel
that you believe violate YouTube's Community Guidelines.
Of course, interaction isn't limited to writing back.
A lot of artists generate engagement by asking fans specific questions at the end of a video.
You can take this even further by replying to comments in a Q&A.
Fans love when you answer their questions.
You can also spark discussion with a Poll Card.
Polls are fun and sometimes fans will have a lively conversation on the topic or results.
Finally, artists can encourage interaction by sharing fan-uploaded content in a playlist.
If you have a legal or management team handling your sound recordings,
you can work together to ensure covers and remixes are licensed properly
so they won't get blocked.
In addition to engaging with your current fans, we want to help your music find new ones.
You can help by keeping video titles, channel descriptions and other metadata up to date.
Taking those steps can help your music show up more accurately
in search results and recommended videos.
You can also help fans find your other songs by sharing playlists on social media
and wherever else you're promoting your music.
This helps extend listening sessions by making viewers aware of additional videos.
And finally, don't be afraid to collaborate.
Teaming up with other artists and creators
helps expand your collective fanbases by sharing traffic between channels.
Don't forget to cross-promote on both channels.
You can point potential new fans in the right direction
using cards, links in the video description, links in a pinned comment
or hosting the content in a popular playlist on both channels.
Have fun experimenting with these approaches.
Building and interacting with your fans can be one of the best parts of being an artist.
And YouTube makes it easy to give your fans more of what they want—You!
Thanks for watching.
Let us know if the comments how you communicate with your audience
or which of these tools you'll try out on your channel.
And don't forget to subscribe.
