The BMW M3 and M4
F80 and F82
are retiring soon
the M3 is retired already
they're not making them anymore
so time for their successors
people have had their cars
for a couple of years now
and they're ready for something new
who's also had the cars for a while
are the tuners
so for years now
exhausts, remaps, turbos, decat downpipes
have been developed for these cars
and at the end of a model
when the depreciations are done
people are willing to go for tuning
and the products are at their best too
after years of development
which is the case
with the BMW M4
and today
we've got a BMW M4 by Mosselman
maybe wait with that order
for the new model M3 or M4
because I don't think
they will beat this..
to illustrate my point
BMW came with the M4 GTS
very limited production run
and it had 500 HP
this car
with all those perfected tuning parts
620 HP
the base is a BMW M4 Competition
which has 450 HP and a trick differential
it's a good thing they chose
the competition pack as base
because you really need
that competition rear differential
to try and cope with this power
because with 620 HP and 750 Nm
and rear wheel drive
it's a challenge
to get that power down
but it's a very enjoyable activity
you're always searching for traction
using the throttle
"How much torque will it give me"
the things they do at Mosselman
to get this amount of power
is removing the OEM turbos
and replace the entire insides
and the housing as well
and put them back in
so it's plug & play
and that means you keep
roughly the same spool-up
as the original turbos
so it's not some huge turbo
which means you're waiting and waiting
before it delivers its power
you still have
with a remap
basically
the original power progress
huge amount of mid-range power
that's what the M3 and M4 are known for
but top-end
at the high range of the revs
you gain a lot of power
it also has a decat downpipe
and a straight Akrapovic exhaust
with valves I can operate
using the cruise control button
up is valves open
down is valves closed
if I open the valves
this thing produces insane noises
it's so incredibly loud
unbelievable
and that's it
they didn't need to change
the intercooler
because the M3 and M4
already have a water-cooled intercooler
which can handle a lot of heat
as always
this tuner makes their car stand out
so everyone sees it and remembers it
Mosselman also fitted
these ADV.1 wheels
and add the striping
but I think it's very striking
it looks like
a classic 80's BMW race car
I think it's very well done
very racy
with those Michelin tire stickers
it looks even wider and meaner
they chose a Vorsteiner rear diffuser
a front splitter from an M4 CS
and an M Performance rear spoiler
when you see this car
coming towards you
with that sound
you just think
how does this thing have a license plate
it's so loud, so fast
it looks incredible
really awesome
this is the ultimate BMW M4
