Hey, welcome back to Israel.
When you visit Israel, you always wonder about
the food, so I'm going to give you the most
celebrated food in Israel.
We're going to build a falafel.
What's a falafel?
I'm going to show you.
You start with your pita, and then you put
in your hummus.
That's CHU-mus.
You've got to come to Israel to learn say "CHUmus!"
It makes it really, really good.
And then you need the falafel balls.
They look just like a hushpuppy, if you're
from the South.
But these are made out of ground chickpeas.
They're really, really good.
And then you put in salads.
This is coleslaw.
You know what it is.
It's like a picnic from the South, and some
fresh tomatoes - they have the best vegetables
in the world here – and some cucumbers.
And if you're really going to go Israeli,
you put some chips in it – some fries – and
make it all better.
And then a little tahini – ah, the tahini
makes it wonderful.
A little red sauce, and you've got a falafel
in the Old City of Jerusalem.
Just imagine it's "Diners, Drive-Ins,
Dives" with Pastor Allen!
Eat your heart out, Guy Fieri.
Bon appetit!
That's good.
