What's up guys!
Hey!
How's it going?
We got a bunch of different packages in the mail here, and so we're so excited.
They're from Brazil.
We don't know what's inside.
Nothing...
Could be nothing!
We'll see.
Thank you guys so much for sending us stuff.
We've already gotten, like, a lot of letters.
I wanna show you real quick.
Because, like, all the letters that I get, you know, I'll.. or postcards, I'll put up
on, on the wall in the studio here.
Gotten several books, you know.
I think this is gonna be the next one that I read, but..
I appreciate you guys sending us this stuff.
Now we're gonna open some packages!
We have a fun Correios brasileiros story.
In Brazil we were walking to the beach - I think we were in Guarujá - but we kept passing
houses, and on every house was the name Correio.
Correio.
Correio.
Correios.
And Lauren was like, "Is Correios like a popular Brazilian last name?
Because everyone seems to have the same one!"
And that's when I told her that Correios means "mail."
Alright.
Wow!
Whoa!
Newspaper in Portuguese.
I'll read that later.
Oh my God!
So many sweets!
Okay, primeiro: Pingo de Leite.
What is that?
I don't..
I've never heard of that, I don't know what it is.
Oh my gosh.
We both have such a sweet tooth.
Somos formiguinhas para doces.
Pingo de leite...
Yeah.
Oh, it's like caramel!
Awesome!
There is a cow on the front...
This is from Armando Monteiro from Rio, Rio de Janeiro.
Oh my God!
I know what this is.
Pé de Moleque.
Little boy's foot.
And it's like peanut brittle.
Yum!
Little tiny ones.
Okay, well we gotta open that one and try it too.
Really?
We're gonna try all of 'em?
Maybe!
Well let's try a little bit of each one.
I just dropped some on the floor.
Definitely gonna have formiguinhas.
Wow!
That's also really good.
Oh my goodness!
Paçoquita!
It's the diet form too.
Diet?
What does that even mean?
How can Paçoquita be diet?
Paçoquita Zero!
Well we love this stuff, so.. and we eat it so much that we probably need the diet version.
Awesome.
Oh!
Quebra-queixo means like "jaw-breaker".
Oh man, do you know what this is?
What does this look like to you?
Protein powder.
Doesn't it!
This is peanut butter!
Brazilian peanut butter.
Oh my gosh!
Which we hear sometimes that like peanut butter doesn't exist in Brazil, but clearly it does.
Who loves peanut butter in our house?
This girl!
Oh my gosh, it's like.. it's natural!
You can see in there...
Ah!
Like pretty much every morning for breakfast what do you eat?
A banana and a little bit of peanut butter on it.
Or a lot of it.
Or a lot of it!
What was on sale this week?
Biscoito?
Tem biscoito na venda?
É biscoito?
Do you think it's biscoito or bolacha Lauren?
Biscoito.
And finally, it looks like some more books.
Cool!
Awesome.
Wow.
How do you say all these words in English..
Cool!
Armando, thanks a ton man!
Thank you!
Próximo.
This next one is from Gabriela Mendes.
Ela é de Fortaleza.
Ceará.
Oh, was I just speaking in Portuguese there?
I think I was!
Here's the next one.
Here's what we have.
I don't know what it is.
Some notes on the back.
Awesome.
This looks like your kind of praia!
She loves the beach.
Ah, mais quebra-queixo!
This is the quebra-queixo that I've tried in Brazil before.
Oh my gosh.
Oh I think I tried this.
Yeah.
It's so sticky.
Think you got a little plastic in there!
Mmm.
There's like coconut...
You want one?
I'm gonna hold off.
Okay.
I gotta pace myself.
You gotta pace yourself.
You wanna open this one?
While she's opening that, let's look at some more.
Ah, doce goiaba!
That's really good.
Actually she's already tried, um, bolo de rolo?
Rolo de bolo?
Do you remember that like cake that was a swirl that we got sent?
Oh, yeah.
It was really good.
So good.
Because normally all of our stuff here that's like that is chocolate.
So it was really good to have something with, like, guava taste to it.
Goiaba.
That'll be awesome.
Pé de moleque?
Balsamo?
That's new for me.
It must be like a honey... that's awesome.
Oh my gosh!
Oh no no no.. this is a glass of some sort.
Ah, I know what this is!
What is that?
Is that a shot glass?
I think that might be.
It says Fortaleza on it.
Nice.
It is a shot glass, but it's covered.. it's full of sand that just says Fortaleza.
We got a couple things from Fortaleza here.
Cool!
We'll definitely have to drink some cachaça out of this.
But..
You can't get it out!
Wait, is it..
It's like decorative.
Sand?
Oh, it's decorative!
See, lookit: the sand's poured to..
Oh my God!
Very cool.
Those are all grains of sand.
Wow, that's pretty!
That's really awesome.
Okay, no.. no cachaça artesanal.
No!
This is something called Suspiro.
I imagine that maybe it was more solid when, uh, when it left.
"Biscoito doce do tipo suspiro".
We'll try this later.
Maybe we'll sprinkle it over ice cream or something.
Doce de leite!
Oh no!
You love that!
Yeah, do you remember what we, how we ate this?
One of our friends told us to mix it in coffee.
So like I had some doce de leite..
Ohhh that's right! ..so like on Ilhabela and stuff we would put doce de leite in coffee.
Mmhmm.
Oh my gosh, I was gonna say, it's hard, just like, um, what's that other thing called?
Rapadura!
This is traditional, like a Northeast sweet.
I think we've tried that too.
It's been like a year and a half since we've been to Brazil, so this is gonna matar some
saudades for us here.
Wow, thank you Gabriela.
Coxa de moça!
Isso é tão bom também.
I don't think you tried this when you were there because I'd eaten 'em all already, but
it's, it's like coxa de moxa literally means like "girl's thigh".
That'll be awesome.
What is this?
Doce de banana especial.
Ooh!
Looks like it's wrapped in banana leaves.
Mmhmm.
Dicionário Cearense!
Oh man, I'm gonna learn some good things.
Vai ser bom demais da conta!
Regional Asa Branca?
Isso é forró, algo assim?
É CD..
Hey, all in English mister.
Oh my God, I keep forgetting.
So this is like a CD of like forró music, maybe?
Sweet.
Look at that.
Oh my gosh!
I've never seen it in a block this big though.
Like I think I remember seeing it in like little packages.
I like bananas!
I just wanna take a big bite out of it.
Yeah.
And what do we got here?
Ohhhh my God.
What is this?
Caninha Abolição?
Beba e sinta a liberdade.
Okay.
This is cachaça from Ceará.
And lookit, there's a little glass to drink it out of.
Oh my God!
The cutest thing EVER!
Love it.
Look at that.
Holy crap.
So you did send a glass for us to drink cachaça out of!
That's awesome.
Whew!
Whew!
I'm gonna have a little bit.
Cheers!
That's artisan cachaça.. that's homemade cachaça indeed!
That's r..
I love it though.
I love that taste.
It's so expensive here in the United States.
Gabriela: thanks so much for the package.
Thank you!
It's awesome.
We can't wait to see the Northeast of Brazil someday.
And the last package is from Daniela Paiva.
Daniela de Paiva.
DaniFunny.
Rio de Janeiro also.
"I wish you the best things in life."
Aw, that's cute!
Little postcard.
Thank you!
I'll let you open this.
Wait, what's on the outside here?
Delicious homemade food; I hope you like it.
Comida Caseira.
A little like, cookbook?
Nice.
I love cooking so this is gonna be awesome.
Oh my God!
I like the caption.
Milk?
NO!
Cachaça?
YES!
That's awesome.
That's going in the studio here.
What do you got?
This says I'm addicted to...
Cool!
I like sour things, so..
Here wait, hold this one up.
This is bubble gum!
Is that bubble gum?
Oh my God, yeah, chiclete.
Nice.
You're addicted to it huh?
This is to help Gavin better understand our "nature habits" and curiosities.
Treine seu inglês!
Fun.
I love it, it's like a puzzle book inside.
This is one with like Eng.. part English in here too.
Super cool.
I didn't even know this existed.
And then last thing in here: "com carinho".. like, "with love" it says on it.
I like the little notes.
Aw!
How sweet.
Hold 'em up!
To Lauren, love Dani.
How nice, thank you!
Daniela, thank you so much, that's awesome!
How nice.
Thanks so much!
Guys, this was really, really awesome to get all this stuff from Brazil.
Thank you so, so much.
This really does mean a lot to us.
Yes.
We're returning to Brazil in November, but until then we always, like, wish we could
get a lot of this stuff, and it's so expensive if you can even find it here in the United
States.
Mmhmm.
So.. this is really awesome.
Thank you so much.
Thank you!
If you guys wanna send us some more stuff, maybe we'll do a Mail Time #2.
I have my address in the description below to our post office box, and that's it.
Leave a comment if we haven't gotten something or if we messed something up!
That's it for now.
Thanks!
See you guys later.
So I'm cleaning up after the mess of all the food and all that.
It's the day after.
And I have this thing.
I just opened it up.
And you have him drinking pinga here.
And it's a magnet, right?
And you have a bottle that says leite, but the magnet doesn't work for him!
He just shakes his head!
Oh my God!
But pinga - that works!
Eba!
I love it.
