Chelsea striker Diego Costa trains on a beach in Brazil with his Blues future still up in the air
DIEGO COSTA cut a lonely figure as he trained on a beach today. The Chelsea striker is currently in limbo – unwanted by his club but no closer to a move elsewhere.
Diego Costa was videoed doing some training on a beach in Brazil with a move no closer.
The out-of-favour Chelsea man is rumoured to be on his old club Atletico Madrids wishlist. And while his team-mates are going through pre-season in Singapore, the Spanish forward is still in Brazil on his break.
But rather than sit in the doldrums, Costa is keeping up his fitness by training on a beach. He uploaded a clip to his Instagram story, where he was shown being on the end of a rope performing some ball skills.
Costa has already replaced in the Chelsea squad by Alvaro Morata, who joined the club in a club-record £65million deal. And Costa incredibly trolled Chelsea as he 'liked' the club's official Instagram picture of Alvaro Morata's signing being announced.
The Spanish striker, 28, is set to leave the Blues this summer after a public row with boss Antonio Conte.
Diego Costa had some helpers in his training routine on the golden sands in Brazil.
The Brazilian striker then showed off some skills on the unforgiving surface of sand.
The Italian boss recently revealed Costa was as good as gone in January, saying: "The only thing I can tell you, in January, the Costa situation was very clear, for the club for him and his agent.
"For me the situation is closed. As the Blues officially announced the done deal on Instagram, Costa incredibly hit the "like" button on social media, expertly trolling the Stamford Bridge outfit.
Conte was quick to dig the knife in further on the Morata announcement, saying: "This is a good signing for us.
Chelsea boss Antonio Conte has said the situation is closed for Diego Costa at Chelsea.
Diego Costa incredibly trolled Chelsea as they announced the signing of Alvaro Morata. "Morata is a young player but has a lot of experience and played in the past with Real Madrid, Juventus and Real Madrid again.
"He has a lot of experience in the league and the Champions League. He is young and can improve a lot. This is a good signing for us.".
Costa was left out of Chelseas pre-season tour of China and Singapore, with a return to former club Atletico Madrid very much on the cards.
Some bookies have even suspended betting on Costa to Madrid, however the Los Colchoneros are in the midst of a transfer ban so would need to work around that first.
