Hi, kids!
Whenever you're getting ready to go to school or church,
do you ever look in the mirror?
What do you see?
Of course, you see you!
But what parts of you do you see?
From top to bottom, you see:
your head.
Your trunk.
Your limbs -
your arms and legs,
and your feet.
Look at your family.
Your mom, dad and your siblings.
Do they also have the same body parts as you?
They do!
Even though you may be smaller than them,
you still have the same body parts.
What are our main body parts?
Let's list them down.
The first is the head.
What are the other body parts you can see in the head?
This is your hair!
How long is your hair?
Is it straight or curly?
Those are your two eyes.
You use them for seeing.
That's how you can see yourself.
Those are your two ears.
You use them for hearing.
You use them to listen to your favorite song.
That's your nose.
It's right in the middle
and you use it for smelling delicious food.
This is your mouth.
You use it to eat the delicious food you just smelled,
to talk to other people
and to smile.
Lastly, you have your neck which connects your head to the next main body part,
which is:
Your trunk!
It's this whole section of your body.
Part of your trunk are your shoulders,
your chest,
your stomach area
all the way to your hips!
Connected to the trunk is not only your head
but also your limbs.
You have 4 limbs -
these are your 2 of your arms
and 2 of your legs.
Now, let's move our body parts together!
Whenever we do some things,
we use certain body parts.
What body parts do we use to read?
That's right, our eyes!
We also use our hands to turn the pages.
How about when we write?
Yes!
We use our hands to hold the pencil and to write with it.
We also use our eyes to see what we are writing.
When we play, what body parts do we use?
We do use our whole bodies to play!
That's because we use almost all of our body parts
when we're playing with friends.
For example, we use our feet and legs to run,
our hands to tag the next "it",
our eyes to see our friends
and our mouths to laugh and smile.
When we eat, what body parts do we use?
That's right.
We use our mouths to chew our food
and even our hands to hold our spoon and forks.
How about when we listen to music?
Yes, we use our ears to hear the music.
We can also use our mouths to sing along!
Again, we have our main body parts
the head, trunk and limbs,
but they also have more specific body parts too.
Each does different tasks,
but they all work together when we do things.
