Chelsea 1 - 3 Bayern Munich LIVE: Rafinha, Muller and Alonso scored
- 2 minutes: Renato Sanches is down in the centre of the field, caught by Cesc Fabregas. No foul says the referee and Fabregas did get the ball.
Big day for Sanches and a very big season - needs to re-establish himself, after a difficult debut campaign in Germany. - 4 minutes: Friedl looks tidy and accomplished at left-back for Bayern early on.
He's put in a good cross looking for Muller, which Andreas Christensen headed away and then showed a little swivel to get away from Willian and deliver another. Rodriguez tosses one in and Courtois takes it ahead of Lewandowski.
Bayern looking to work overloads down the flanks early doors. -7 minutes: GOAL! Chelsea 0-1 Bayern (Rafinha).
And it's Rafinha! Where the hell did that come from!. Bayern switch play well from left to right, and Rafinha drills one from 25 yards, a daisy-cutter, which fires in off the post.
Bayern have started well and they have the lead. Could Courtois have done better?.
- 9 Minutes: So how do Chelsea respond. Well, they try to filter some good play through the middle but it breaks down as Boga fails to take in Willian's pass.
Lewandowski wins a freekick off Cahill after some exceptional holdup play. Bayern's wide men 'cheating' early doors - leaving the Chelsea wing-backs to go forward, not tracking them, and then waiting to receive the ball in space.
Bayern doing that very well so far. - 10 minutes: A chance for Lewandowski. Isolated against Christensen, he holds up, attacks the space but Azpilicueta gets back and turns it away.
GOAL! Chelsea 0-2 Bayern (Muller). Bayern have doubled their lead and Thomas Muller has his goal. Excellent from Ribery down the left, he waltzes past Azpilicueta in the penalty area.
As Courtois approaches, Ribery, narrow angle, dinks one up to the far post - Rodriguez runs a man under it and in comes Muller, unchallenged, to volley home. This is some showing after the defeat to Milan.
- 18 Minutes: Rodriguez misses a golden chance. Corentin Tolisso has been very neat and tidy so far in midfield, as has Sanches.
Neither wants to just sit mind, both are also keen to press and get in advance of the ball when the opportunity presents. Bayern pressing well and Fabregas is pressed into a mistake and Rodriguez misses a golden chance.
Eight yards out, a cross from Ribery finds him free at the far post (where is Marcos Alonso, again?) he chests down and sidefoots over the bar. - 20 Minutes: Thibaut Courtois is largely furious here so far.
He's let his backline and in particular Marcos Alonso know that he's not happy with what's going on in front of him.
Bayern's pride really must have been stung at the weekend because this is fantastic so far. They always seem to have a man over. - 23 Minutes: Good defending from a Chelsea player (finally) sees Azpilicueta win a freekick off Ribery.
A first shot in anger from Chelsea comes from Willian, cutting left to right with a give-and-go off Boga, he slides a shot from outside the box well wide of Starke's target.
GOAL! Chelsea 0-3 Bayern (Muller). Wowsers!. Magnificent from Thomas Muller, and it's 3-0 to Bayern. Bayern win the ball in midfield, and then Muller drives forward, with Lewandowski in front, against two Chelsea defenders.
Lewandowski makes his run, tries to go through the gap between the centre-halves, but the pass doesn't come.
Eventually, 25 yards out, as Chelsea defenders continue to back off, Muller curls a wonderfully-shaped effort with his instep around Courtois, bending just inside his left-hand post. Stunning.
- 29 Minutes: Moses booked. So here's a water break. Just before Victor Moses goes into the book, a naughty challenge on Friedl leaving the left-back in a crumpled heap. Late from the Blues wing-back, who looks frustrated.
He's not the only one. - 39 Minutes: Marcos Alonso leaves a hand in the face of Rafinha - first time he's got near anyone so far.
Bayern continuing to knock the ball around confidently, but Chelsea finally appear to at least be getting in their faces.
A long ball by Courtois is dealt with by Hummels who puts it out for a throw, which Chelsea take quickly and Fabregas switches to Alonso - only for his touch to be poor and Rafinha to snap in and clear out for a throw.
- 43 Minutes: Batshuayi denied, Cahill close. Good save Tom Starke to deny Michy Batshuayi.
Moses robs Friedl, drives forward, plays to Batshuay who turns and doesn't play the return. Instead, he steps onto his left foot, drives low, and 36-year-old Starke gets down to turn it round the post.
From the resultant corners, first Christensen's effort is blocked behind and then Fabregas' delivery finds the head of Cahill - whose header goes a whisker wide. - 46 Minutes: Chelsea 1-3 Bayern (Alonso).
Well he's been dismal defensively. But that's a cracking finish from Marcos Alonso, a thumping finish giving Starke no chance. Good work from Batshuayi in the build up.
- Half-time: PEEEP! HT: Chelsea 1-3 Bayern. And there's the half-time whistle.
Chelsea didn't get out the blocks at all - and were completely blown away by Bayern early doors. Rafinha's early effort, two goals for Thomas Muller - the second magnificent - and Bayern have been much the better side.
Renato Sanches and Tolisso are bossing midfield, Lewandowski looks sharp and Muller is making his point. Alonso's late goal gives Chelsea hope of a comeback.
