Gareth Bale to Manchester United: Real Madrid consider sale to fund Kylian Mbappe move
The Wales international has spent four years at the Bernabeu after leaving behind Tottenham for a then-world-record £85m fee.
And during his time in Spain he's helped Real win one La Liga title, the Champions League three times, as well as four more trophies.
Bale has persistently been linked with a return to the Premier League though, with United touted as his most likely destination.
And reports today suggest Jose Mourinho may be invited to make a bid for the 27-year-old as Real look to fund their raid for Kylian Mbappe. Manchester United boss Jose Mourinho could yet sign Gareth Bale from Real Madrid this summer.
According to the Daily Mail, Florentino Perez is prepared to spend a whopping £160m on Monaco's teen sensation. However, in order to ensure they have the financial muscle to complete a deal, another player may have to be sold.
Real have already brought in more than £100m from Alvaro Morata and Danilo's moves to Chelsea and Manchester City respectively.
Real Madrid could sell Gareth Bale to Manchester United to fund Kylian Mbappes move to Spain. Marco Verratti to Man Utd talks stall: Paris St-Germain want Anthony Martial in return.
Bayern Munich, meanwhile, have stumped up a fee to take James Rodriguez on loan for the next two season. Real are apparently keen to ensure they're not short of money as they go all out for Mbappe though.
And the Daily Mail claim they're considering letting Bale join United in order to bring in yet more cash. Bale's potential exit would be practical for Zinedine Zidane too, as it would free up a place in his team to field Mbappe.
