- It's about one o'clock in the afternoon,
standing outside my hotel
and I'm waiting for a pick up to go to Doi Suthep
which is one of the biggest temples here in Chiang Mai
and I'm going with a tour group.
Paid 500-600 baht for it, about 20 Australian dollars.
Let's do this, let's check this place out.
Running back to my room.
I've been told that I need to wear long pants
and I have to change my tank top into a T-shirt.
I totally forgot about that.
If you don't know at temple, palaces, or anything like that,
ladies as well need to cover your shoulders,
cover your legs, wear long like a sarong or something.
I'm not wearing a sarong (laughs), just my jeans.
And it's so hot, it's like 35 degrees outside.

It's a couple hundred stairs to get up to the top
or you can take a cable car which what we're doing
which was my decision, beats taking the stairs.

Alright so that's the entrance over there
and that's the exit down there.

Alright so we're gonna be taking the stairs
to get down here not the cable car.
There's like over 700 steps, all the way down to the bottom.
So that is just one incredibly long serpent
all the way up to the top of the stairs
where you enter into the temple.
Check that out, that's pretty cool.
The stairs runs all the way to the top.
What a great set of stairs for fitness and training.
So so cool.
Unfortunately, this is way too many people
using those stairs.

Sorry it wasn't as exciting as what I anticipated.
It is much better if do you actually just grab a taxi
and come straight here.
No tours, just come and do this on your own.
That's what I did three years ago.
This time around I made the mistake
of doing it with a tour group.
You're kind of restricted
by the movements of the rest of the group.
Anyway, come check it out.
If you come to Chiang Mai
you definitely do have to check this place out.
