Wildland Fire - Ramsey Canyon Fire Very Close to the Ranch! - Duration: 6:29.

I want to take you out back here so you can take a look at the smoke any of you

that have been following the channel know that we're working on a property in

Southern Oregon this is that time of the year when the western United States has

tons of wildland fires in Oregon in California are probably top of the list

right now Northern California has the Mendocino complex car fire have merged

largest wildland fire in California history Southern Oregon has a number of

fires I got to the property last night I got here before Beth and I was driving

around doing my errands before she got here and as I was heading to the ranch

perpendicular I was able to look right back up through there and there was a

huge column of smoke so quickly got online did some research I didn't notice

it at first when I drove into town just because there's so much smoke from the

other fires and basically you can't see any of the landscape right now just

because the the smoke is so thick and heavy but that column right up there

caused me a little concern and sure enough there was a fire that broke out

yesterday right before I got here I'll put some links down below just for those

of you that are interested it's called the Ramsey Canyon fire and yesterday I

think they were estimating a hundred acres and this morning when Beth and I

got up and got online and checked for some updates it was had grown to eight

hundred acres and for any of you that are firefighters in the audience you

know one thing fires do is they just keep getting bigger so I'm anticipating

that fire is going to get bigger and I'll betcha that it goes over a thousand

acres but not that I want it to but that's kind of the nature of these

things that territory back up there is pretty rough

and rugged it's causing a lot of difficulty for the firefighters on the

scene I just want to thank them for what they're doing it has been called a

conflagration basically the fire has exceeded their firefighting capabilities

and the resources they have on hand I know that from looking this morning

they've got several aircraft on air attack and there is yesterday last night

Beth and I went for a drive and I'll roll a picture in that I took last night

we went all the way up to the top of the road and got fairly close to the fire I

got a pretty good photo last night late at night last night there were level two

evacuation notices put out for a zone in that area and we drove up into the level

2 evacuation zone this morning that is a level 3 evacuation which means get out

now the fire is eminent danger for I think to a little more than 200

structures I think they don't know the exact number but they say somewhere

around 200 210 structures right behind me there is the Ramsey Canyon fire and

it probably I'll put google map in there but I bet it's somewhere about six to

eight miles in that direction so Beth and I are going to keep a close eye on

that we're down on the ranch right now we are celebrating our 38th yeah 38th

wedding anniversary and I've got to say I can't imagine spending thirty eight

years with any other person Beth is the best life partner anybody could ever

have we actually have been together longer than 38 years but 38 year wedding

anniversary today so we're going to leave the ranch today we're going to go

on a jet boat ride we're gonna stay in a hotel go out to

dinner and then come back here and we'll be on the property for a while

and then well I've got a surprise we're do a little road trip just for fun and

if you look around boy there's like no landscape look at that it's just smoke

as far as you can see makes for a great moon rises and awesome sunsets but no

landscape right now all right that is the ramsey canyon wildland fire

currently today august 23rd early in the morning estimated to be 800

acres don't know the level of containment but i suspect zero and a

number of aircraft on air attack and guys on ground crews in there working

right now and we thank them for what they're doing I pray that they stay safe

before we end this video you've got to take a look at the front of my truck and

you can see all that ash that fell last night there's actually some big fire

brands and it was covered with white ash this morning but the wind has blown it

away and Beth has the same thing on on her vehicle looked like it was snowing

last night if you took a flashlight and shine it up into the sky you could just

see ash just blowing through the wind in the beam of the flashlight look pretty

cool try to take a little video of that and impossible but it looked very cool

This is the Indian retail packaging as they recently launched in India in their Delhi

event.

So without any delay lets quickly unbox the Samsung Galaxy Note 9.

I mean not that quick, we will do this in some other video but for this video we will

do it in traditional tech youtuber style.

So first lets remove this plastic sheet, now its much more clean.

On the front of the Smasung Galaxy Note 9 box we can see the S pen teaser.

This indicates the new S pen stylus design for the new Samsung Galaxy Note 9.

On the left of the box we can see the Samsung Galaxy Note 9 engraved in the box which is

sweet touch and when we flip this to the back we can see some specs for the new Note 9.

So this is the Note 9 levendar purple colour that I have right here.

I took the device just for checking at the store and accidently removed the screen protector

and that's why you are seeing all these bubbles on the display and I really apologise for

that and ensures that you'll get the same unboxing experience when you buy your new Note 9.

The first experience with the device is very heavy and huge in size but it doesn't make

you fell like you are holding a cheap device.

But as per tech YouTube tradition.

lets keep this to the side and see what else we have in the box.

Inside the box we get another box and here we have the SIM ejector tool which I always

keep in my wallet.

Now moving on we get the free transparent TPU case to protect your Note 9 from the very

first day.

Other than that we get the user manual and you know what to do with this.

Yes, throw them away.

Now moving forward we get Samsung wall adapter or fast charger to

charge the Samsung Note 9 and I'm very happy to see that they have included a USB type-C

to USB type A OTG adapter for connecting hard drives and thumb drives to the device.

Now Inside the box there is a small compartment which is holding some accessories and it feels

very good when they have included so much accessories in the box and atleast this is

expected from a flagship device that costs around 1,000$ or 67,000 Rupees.

But anyways here we get a very high quality USB type-C cable for charging the note 9 and

data transfer other than that we get a pair of AKG earphones and extra ear tips for precise

fit and a weird clip.

So this is the newest flagship device by Samsung and let me tell you guys that this is a beast

1440 by 2960 quad HD+ super AMOLED display and on the back we get the dual 12 megapixel

camera with optical image stabilisation, one with fixed aperture of f/2.4 and other with

Now on the storage side you can get the 128 Gb or a whooping 512 Gb of storage option

and further this storage can be expanded upto 1Terabyte with a micro SD card of 512 Gb.

And thats pretty cool as you are having a 1 Terabyte in your pocket.

So overall I really like the new Note 9 and this is the best flagship device that you

can get as of now of 2018 until Samsung launch there new S10 with foldable screen thing going on.

And different microbes tend to contaminate different foods, cause slightly different symptoms,

and have different incubation periods: the time between when you get infected and when you start feeling bad.

So figuring out if you have food poisoning and where you got it can be trickier than you might think.

The number one cause of food poisoning in the U.S. is norovirus,

which causes around half the cases, according to the CDC.

Viruses are minimalist microbes.

They're basically some genetic material with a protein coat.

So they can't reproduce or do much on their own at all, they need a host cell.

And when you eat a norovirus-contaminated salad, it finds plenty of hosts in your gut.

When the virus finds an intestinal cell, it tricks membrane receptors to get inside,

and then hijacks the cell's machinery to make copies of itself.

Eventually, those virus minions burst from the infected cell to find more victims.

And at the same time, your dead and damaged cells release chemicals that trigger an inflammatory response in your body.

Nearby blood vessels dilate and leak plasma into the infected tissues,

which kicks off the fight against the invaders.

And more chemical signals are released to attract specialized immune cells.

This inflammatory response in your gut contributes to some of the classic symptoms of food poisoning:

diarrhea, vomiting, and sometimes a low fever.

So just know that when you're puking your guts out,

at least that's your own immune system kicking some microbe butt.

It's been difficult to study norovirus because, until recently,

researchers haven't been able to grow intestinal cell lines in the lab that it can infect and survive in.

Before that, heroes among us have volunteered to be infected with norovirus so scientists could better understand it.

Now, they're even testing a norovirus vaccine in humans!

But even though norovirus is the leading cause of food poisoning in the U.S., most cases of norovirus aren't from food.

It's highly contagious, so infected people or contaminated surfaces can spread it too.

And it's commonly called a stomach bug or stomach flu,

even though norovirus isn't related to the influenza virus.

So how do you know if you should blame your Uncle Carl's fruit salad for your upset stomach?

Well, that takes some detective work.

The simplest way is to try finding the source:

did any other people who ate the fruit get sick around the same time you did?

Or did you start puking after hanging out with your buddy's preschooler,

who was a little under the weather?

That's basically how state health agencies and the CDC approach food poisoning outbreaks too,

just on a bigger scale.

They have to try trace the source, so they can stop the spread of a microbe.

These agencies monitor reports of illness from hospitals to look for weird spikes or clusters of foodborne illness.

They'll do DNA and RNA tests and perform other analyses on poop samples from patients

to determine what microbe they're dealing with,

from norovirus, to bacterial baddies you may recognize like Listeria, E. coli, and Salmonella.

Then, they'll interview patients to generate and test hypotheses about where it came from.

Like, if most of those patients ate the same brand of alfalfa sprouts,

they'd go swab that produce packaging facility to look for the microbe.

When they do find the source, they try to stop its spread.

The state health agency may shut down a restaurant, or the Food and Drug Administration may recall a product.

But, obviously, it's kind of hard for you to do that level of investigation while you're suffering by a toilet.

It's not like everyone can just run a molecular analysis for norovirus.

The good news is, for most healthy folks who aren't babies or old,

food poisoning is a sucky illness, but you'll get better on your own.

So it's not super important to know what kind of sick you are.

The only way to really know what's ailing you is to go to a medical professional.

Which is also advisable if you don't get better in a few days

or if you get severely dehydrated from all that vomiting and diarrhea.

So, like, if you're worried, go to them instead of watching me on youtube.

I'm not a doctor.

And you can be careful about what you eat to try and avoid food poisoning altogether.

Pay attention to those recalls on local news,

and wash your hands so you don't spread any nasty microbes!

And if you're preparing fruits and veggies to eat raw, make sure you wash them.

A thorough scrub is important even if you don't plan to eat the outside, because,

for instance, cutting into a melon can transfer microbes from the outer surface to that juicy middle.

The FDA also recommends removing any bruised or damaged parts,

and the outermost leaves of lettuce or cabbage.

Plus, thoroughly cook your food, especially beef, poultry, and eggs.

Because heat kills any bacteria that might be on them.

So next time your friend or family member is taken down by food poisoning,

you can share your fun facts with them...

Going to show you how to do the clutch initialization process

on the 2018 Goldwing with the DCT transmission.

First step is to make sure the engine oil temperature is at normal operating range.

Take the bike for a five or ten minute ride.

Once you've done that, place it on the center stand.

Then you'll need to depress the D while you simultaneously turn the ignition on.

Once the engine light has gone off. You can release the D.

Now we need to go through the sequence of

D twice, N, D, N

That will take the bike into the process.

The TOUR has gone away and the gear position indicator begins to flash.

Once that happens, start the motorcycle

and you can hear the transmission is now going through operations.

This process can take anywhere from three to five minutes.

Once the process is done

the flashing will go away and

it will come back up and show TOUR on the dash

and that will indicate that the process is complete.

Also, if you look at the rear wheel you may notice that it's rotating.

You can stop that by simply applying the parking brake.

Kevin Smith has lost 51 pounds since having a heart attack that changed his life.

The actor took to Instagram on Sunday, August 26, to show off his new look — and it's pretty incredible! Smith attributes his weight loss to a "total lifestyle change" that he accomplished by joining Weight Watchers.

"I'VE LOST 51 POUNDS! Six months ago from right now, I was in the hospital recovering from a heart attack I'd had the night before.

When I went to my Doctor a week later, she told me 'The best thing you can do for yourself now is to lose 50 pounds.' Half a year later, I can report that I followed Doctor's orders: I started at 256 and now I weigh 205," Smith wrote on Instagram.

Smith suffered a major heart attack back in February.

It happened in between shows, and doctors said that if he hadn't gotten to the hospital when he did, he would have died.

"The Doctor who saved my life told me I had 100% blockage of my LAD artery (aka 'the Widow-Maker')," Smith tweeted to his followers during his hospital stay.

Doctors inserted a stent in his heart, giving him a new lease on life.

However, he was told that he absolutely needed to lose weight — and that's exactly what he did.

Back in April, he told Savannah Guthrie that his heart attack was "the best thing that ever happened" to him.

He has completely changed his ways and is living a healthier life these days, something that he is very proud of.

"This is the weight I was when I met my wife.

This is a good weight to be at.

Last time I weighed this little, I scored big time.

… I think I'm going to try to lose like 25 more pounds on the program.

So far it's good," Smith said at the time.

Smith has another 10 pounds to lose to get down to his goal weight of 195.

Furious Trump Threatens The FBI, Says He May "Get Involved" In Investigations - Duration: 4:33.

Well, most of the country was busy mourning the death of John McCain and lionizing him

in a way that really didn't fit with what he was as a person, Donald Trump was on Twitter,

laying the groundwork to fire attorney general Jeff Sessions and that would then open the

door for him to fire special prosecutor Robert Mueller.

Here's what happened.

During a Twitter tirade that lasted basically Saturday to Sunday, Donald Trump was talking

about all of these alleged wrongdoings of Hillary Clinton and the Democrats, and it

all stemmed from Jeff Sessions' memo last week, saying he was not gonna let the US Department

of Justice become politicized.

So here is the first tweet that Donald Trump sent out: "Jeff Sessions said that he wouldn't

allow politics to influence him only because he doesn't understand what is happening underneath

his command position.

Highly conflicted Bob Mueller and his gang of 17 angry Dems are having a field day as

real corruption goes untouched.

No collusion!"

A few tweets later, he followed it up with this: "Big story out that the FBI ignored

tens of thousands of Crooked Hillary's emails, many of which are really bad.

Also gave false election info.

I feel sure that we will soon be getting to the bottom of all this corruption.

At some point, I may have to get involved."

At some point, I may have to get involved.

Let me explain what's happening, in case it's not already crystal clear.

Donald Trump is trying to convince us that Jeff Sessions is not doing his job.

That the FBI is not doing their job.

That all these alleged crimes of Hillary Clinton, which don't actually exist, they're all going

uninvestigated.

Hillary Clinton got away with the biggest corruption ever, according to Donald Trump,

and nobody's doing anything about it.

Aren't you angry about that, fellow Republicans?

Well, yeah, they are, if you spend five seconds on social media, you're gonna find a conservative

whining about Hillary Clinton getting away with murder.

So.

He throws those talking points out there.

He's gonna let them simmer and let them grow.

And in no time at all, there's gonna be an uproar from those crazy, MAGA hat wearing

folks asking him to fire Jeff Sessions, and that is exactly what he will do.

Now, I hate Jeff Sessions.

He has been an absolutely horrid attorney general.

Absolutely horrid, and we all know how this man feels about non-white people.

That's no secret.

Horrible human being, Jeff Sessions is.

But in this one particular instance, he's actually doing the right thing, and so for

the time being, kinda needs to hold on to his job, because if he doesn't, that's gonna

let Donald Trump install someone even worse as attorney general, even though it's unlikely

that the Senate would approve a new nominee, especially before the midterms, so then the

job would go to Rob Rosenstein.

Well, Rosenstein has already been attacked by Trump relentlessly, so he'd probably just

fire him, too.

And basically, keep on firing down the line 'til you get a Trump apologist as the acting

attorney general, who would then fire Robert Mueller and replace him with somebody who's

a little more sympathetic to Donald Trump's plight.

The problem is that you're not gonna find anyone in that position.

If Robert Mueller does end up getting fired, he has to be replaced.

You can't just kill that investigation.

You would have to put a new one there.

It happened to Nixon, and things got so much worse for him when he did that.

And I think Trump is just stupid enough to think that he could go forward with this plan.

That's why he's already laying the groundwork for it.

You fire Sessions, you go through the line of succession until you find somebody who

will also fire Robert Mueller, and then all your problems disappear.

Unfortunately for Trump, that's not how it works, and if he were go to that route, things

are going to get much, much worse for him very quickly.

But again, he's not smart enough to understand that.

But he is arrogant enough and foolish enough to actually try it.

Let's see how that works.

So, if you want to be influential, you must build cross-functional relationships across

the entire organization.

That's important.

I had a client at Oracle, she had great influence inside her group.

Her boss's boss, very high up in the company, came down and said, "You're one of the most

talented employees I've seen in this company in the last fifteen years.

Your influence inside your group is outstanding, over the next year and a half I want you to

start to build your influence cross-functionally."

So, we were working together already. So, we made this one of our main projects we worked

on.

Over the next six months, she made a list of all the influential players in the company

cross-functionally. And she sought them out, she had lunch with them,

at meetings where they were there, she sat next to them.

She got on committees when they were on it, she understood what their work was and what

they did.

And she made herself available to them and she helped them and it progressed so quickly

that in 6 months time her network and her ability to cross-functionally create influence

was so great that the boss's boss came back, and one of the most important projects in

the company was given to her because she developed such an incredible amount of cross-functional

relationships.

So it's incredibly important to build cross-functionally.

You might think I'm in a little silo, this is me, but the more you can think about ways

to build in other groups and build relationships, the more influence you're going to have outside

of your own group, let alone your own group does matter too.

Dr Tim Kelly: You know, we've all heard the term, 'orthodontics' and we all understand

that, that's the movement of teeth to align them to look pretty, that's really what we

want.

But what I have found over the years is that a high percentage of my patients that have

TMJ problems have teeth that aren't aligned properly.

A high majority of them had orthodontics, so for years we investigated a more biologic

approach to moving teeth and aligning them.

And so, that's where the term 'biologic orthodontic therapy' was born.

And what that means is, with understanding of the entire chewing system, by making an

accurate diagnosis of where the teeth should be and how we should bite relative to our

TMJ or the health of our joints.

That's the position that we want to have our teeth when we're all done.

So, we don't just do orthodontics, we do a biologic approach to have accurate orthodontics

completed.

The orthodontic community in general, when orthodontics is done they're not focusing

on the health of the joint.

And so, if we move teeth and we do not coordinate the two, we've only kinda done the job halfway.

The main difference is, just like when we treat a TMJ patient as accurate records and

understanding the entire system before we start moving teeth.

And then, have goals so that ... Are appropriate for a system that's going to work properly

when we're done.

That's the difference with biologic orthodontic therapy as opposed to a traditional orthodontic

therapy.

The benefits are numerous, actually.

We know that a system that is chewing and functioning properly, how nature intended,

is a system that lasts.

The teeth don't wear out, the teeth don't shift back to where they came from.

The patients stay comfortable and so, your orthodontic therapy when done biologically,

can really have a huge impact on your entire life.
