With vívosmart 4, you can access the latest in fitness and health monitoring features
to track your daily activity with style.
In this video, we'll introduce you to your new activity tracker
and show you how to start using it.
Once you've followed the setup instructions to pair your device with your smartphone,
you're ready to view the available widgets and menu functions.
Just double tap the touchscreen to wake up your device.
Your home screen will appear.
You can swipe the touchscreen up or down to scroll through and view the widgets.
You'll notice a colored button at the bottom of the screen.
You can press this button at any time to go back to the home screen.
Scrolling through the widget loop, you'll see the watchface
steps
floors climbed
intensity minutes
music controls
weather
smart notifications
heart rate
stress
and the Body Battery energy monitoring widget
that gauges your readiness for activity based on sleep,
stress and other factors.
You can tap into some of the widgets to view additional information.
For example, the weather widget can show you tomorrow's forecast.
Or tap the stress widget to start a guided breathing session.
You can also add, remove and reorder your widget display
by going to Appearance Settings on the Garmin Connect app on your mobile device.
To return to the home screen on your vívosmart 4,
just tap the back button.
From here you can press the button again to access your menu options.
Scroll the menu icons by swiping the touchscreen up or down.
The first icon you see in the menu is the activity icon.
Tap it and then swipe through the available activities.
Walk
run
strength
and cardio.
Again, you can use Garmin Connect on your mobile device to add other activities to this list
such as elliptical, pool swim, stair stepper, yoga and the Toe-to-Toe step challenge.
When you decide on an activity, tap the icon.
A prompt will appear above the timer.
Now you can double tap to start your activity.
In the middle of an activity, you can tap on the page to view additional data
such as heart rate, calories burned and more.
You can also swipe up and down to view time of day
and control music from your smartphone, if connected.
When you're finished with an activity, double tap to end it.
Then select Save, Discard or Resume.
Back in the menu, you can also access other topline features
such as Pulse Ox and VO2 max in the heart rate features menu.
The Pulse Ox sensor measures your blood oxygen saturation
either with a spot check while you're sitting still
or you can use the Garmin Connect app to select continuous monitoring while you sleep.
The VO2 max feature uses heart rate data collected from your wrist
to give you an idea of your current fitness level,
so you can track the aerobic gains you're seeing from exercise.
Other options you can access from the main menu include clock features,
such as timer and stopwatch
Bluetooth features, such as Find my Phone and Syncing to your smartphone.
By scrolling down to the gear icon on the menu,
you can enable "do not disturb",
set your display brightness and vibration strength,
turn heart rate tracking on or off, and reset device settings.
In addition to everything vívosmart 4 shows you on the device,
you can also go to the Garmin Connect app on your phone
to view advanced sleep monitoring for REM,
light and deep sleep stages.
Use this information to get an idea of how you've slept.
That's it for now. Thanks for watching.
