Youtube daily report Jun 20 2017

The heart of the law is love,

so what is one of the main purposes of the law?

Here's what the Bible says. It says,

Did you catch it?

Let's say that I came here today and I said,

"Hi everybody. I'm Tom Cruise and I'm going to be giving the devotion today.

So just call me Pastor Tom."

First of all, I'd be delusional. I get it.

But what if I actually believe it and you need to convince me that I'm not Tom Cruise?

What would you do? Be kind.

You'd probably say, "Well, Dave, you are taller than Tom Cruise."

This is absolutely true. Thank you very much for being nice.

But you could show me a picture and I could go,

"Yep, that's me!" Or you could say,

"Can I see some ID?" or

"You don't sound like him."

And for all of it, I could just deny it.

But what is the way that you could absolutely convince me that I'm not Tom Cruise?

Well, you show me a mirror, right?

Then I'm forced to see myself for who I really am.

And that's one of the main purposes of the law,

to show my sin, to show that I'm a sinner who needs a Savior.

There's a story about two friends who went out to the lake.

And they were standing on the pier overlooking this beautiful lake.

And a little bit of ways away from them they, they heard this guy

who was screaming out for help.

And he was flailing around. It was very big man.

And the one friend, who couldn't swim, said to the one who could,

"Hey, listen, you got to go out there. You've got to go save him!"

And the friend who could swim just stood there.

And the man kept flailing around saying,

"I'm drowning! I'm drowning!" And the friend who couldn't swim said again,

"I can't go out there. You have to go and save him!"

And the friend said, "Just wait."

And finally, the guy who was drowning gave up fighting

and his head slipped beneath the surface of the water.

And just then, the friend who could swim jumped out,

swam out to him, grabbed him,

pulled him into shore.

The guy was fine.

Well, afterwards the, the friend who couldn't swim went up to his friend

and he said, "Well, what were you thinking?

Why didn't you go save him right away?"

And the friend who could swim said,

"Well, I couldn't. If I would have gone to save him while he was still flailing around,

I wouldn't have been able to save him. I had to wait until he gave up all hope of saving himself."

Do you see the point?

As long as we think that we can save ourselves,

then we don't need Jesus.

Well, that's one of the purposes of the law,

to lead us to the point to say, with the Apostle Paul,

"What a wretched person I am. Who will rescue me from this body of death?

And immediately Paul answers it.

He says, "Thanks be to God. Through Jesus Christ,

I have a Savior who is so much more capable than me.

A Savior who loved me to death on a cross."

Go with that thought today.

The Holy Spirit is equal with the Father, and the Son, and the Trinity.

But often times it feels like the Holy Spirit doesn't have and equal role in our lives.

Pastor Mike, who shares messages with us on 'Your Time of Grace,"

he wrote a book called "The Neglected Spirit."

And it's a book that explores the work and the person of the Holy Spirit

and just how important he is in our lives.

We would love to send a copy to you as a thank you for your donation.

Just click the link and we'll see you tomorrow.

CLH MASTERCLASS | #1 BOOKS IDEAS FOR SUMMER | ENG SUB AVAILABLE | - Duration: 11:13.

Hello ! I hope you are fine, you are well on the channel "let's play lever harp", generic!

Books and Methods

for Lever harp

Today I will answer a question that sent me from Quebec ....

Thanks a lot , young lady from Quebec.....

She asked me as a question, what are the books, methods, collections, the most useful when learning the harp at home ...

I have selected a number of them, which I use every day ...

My students always had the same requests ...

With my experience, I was always asked about the same things ...

If I want to work side by side, in addition to courses, what can I use?

There are methods you will see, which are very well known in the world of the classic harp ...

This is a little base to learn and I present other books with little tricks ...

On the technical level, the method, the most sold in the world is the "Grossi"

I'll show you a few pages while talking.

It is an Italian method, and in France, teachers in the conservatory use it very often as a technical basis.

And to make the hands work, because these are technical exercises, which allow to work the posture of the hands,

To work fingering, to work agility,

I wanted to take advantage of it to thank my classical teacher mentor , Yseult de maria,

It's a very interesting book, it's in italian...

But it's not a problem because the goal is to follow the exercises and concentrate on the music.

There are fingers at the beginning of each exercise.

I made a video on the first few pages of this method with almost an hour of video and ideas to work, go see the link!

If you want to have a technical basis, this is the Bible!

The other two books that I propose, these are suggestions because they seem interresting to learn ...

I present the book of Deborah Friou, which is a collection of exercises ...

i's a very interesting book, because, you can find some exercices and tunes...

For example, you have an arpeggio exercice... and work in left hand to right hand...

or down arpeggio "vibes"...

I find that this method is quite interesting at the exercise level,

If you're looking for another book, off "Grossi" method, here's another example ...

To work agility, another book that seems to me interesting,

I'm talking about this because today I have a video that talks about small injuries that can be done on the fingers ...

And I am often asked the question, as I can do to work my hands ....

I present to you the collection of Maïte Etcheverry, which has existed for some time and which is called:

Exercise volume 2: agility, for pedal harp but also celtic ...

I specify that my selection of book of the day are suitable for the Celtic harp, even the "grossi" method ...

There is a more specific part for the pedal harp, but this is only a small part ...

But I repeat that the book that I represent you are for lever harp because it is the theme of my youtube channel!

This is the same principle as the previous book, you have exercises, and that there are 3 books with different themes like the first is about apergios, the second is about agility and the third is scales ...

It is a book closer to the method "grossi",

This notebook completes well the method grossi, tell me in the comments, what you think ...

I think it's important to inter act, and the videos that I propose are places of sharing and comments ...

There is a lot of method for the Celtic harp ..

For years, I seek a method of harp adapted to my vision,

I needed a common thread. For a certain period, I had to create a program between pieces and exercises that I invented ...

And I was not satisfied with my program, especially for children, and in relation to their hands ...

Because as a pedagogue, I feel that you have to be very careful when children learn the Celtic harp.

I currently have just under a dozen children and I see with Skype, so from a distance ...

And in order to have a "link's book " with the parents and that we can work in symbiosis,

During courses that last 30 mn ...

I found a great harp method, I think if it does not exist, I would have invented it, but I would have done much less good than that ...

this method name's "The magic harp and the Pixies" by Elisabeth Cherquefosse

The harpist who designed this collection,

It's in the Anne Ricquebourg collection, which I met, a long time ago

Elisabeth at all included and I give you my opinion there ...

Because when you're a child and you learn the harp, it's not necessarily fun to learn classical pieces.

Unless parents like classical music and listen to this kind of music often, sonon is not really receptive ...

I think this method is great because it is in two parts, I explain ...

The first part is technical, in the form of fun little pieces ...

And in the second part, there are pieces that uses what one has learned with the technical exercises ..

Like for example this piece that has much success with my students ...

This is a great method too because there is a CD that allows listening to the songs.

it's a great idea...

And what is fun for children, these are the illustrations with the pixies ..

this cover is superb !

the illustrator artist are Jean-pierre and Francisco Lopez

hey buddy ! well done !

It is true that as lever harpist, I feel the classic technique of the author ...

But there is also great benevolence and also not to force children to play in certain themes only

But we find different themes at the level of the songs ..

Popular songs, some classical , traditional world ..

I also use this method for adults

I think it's important to have a good technical basis, and it is not enough to learn pieces as they are pretty ..

This book is practical to learn the basics ...

But then, learn from the tunes, can help understand their story, how they were composed and thus learn a technique ..

this one, I love it !

Next video, soon!

Tips For Editing Stylish Hand Lettering | Illustrator Hand Lettering | Satori Graphics - Duration: 6:11.

today we're going to make crisp clean and stylish hand lettering with my tips

and techniques editing stylish hand lettering in Adobe Illustrator

welcome back to Satori graphics everyone I'm a graphic design content if you

enjoy my videos please subscribe to stay updated and turn on these notifications

so you never miss an upload also let me know if you like this tutorial

hit that like button on your way out

before we start it should be noted that this video is a tutorial on tips for editing

hand lettering not actually creating hand lettering itself if you

guys want to see a video where I show you how to make hand lettering in Adobe

Illustrator and leave a comment in the section below also keep getting asked

about welcome brush settings in Illustrator for hand lettering I haven't

uploaded way back that I made on brush settings and then it's linked in the

card above here are some hand lettering that I made with my Wacom tablet it's ok

but we can vastly improve it with my tips for editing digital hand lettering

you can see things are not level the spacing is not adequate and we can add

some style as well we first need to convert our hand lettering into a

natural shape rather than a brush stroke so create the outlines like so

now we can see we have many anchor points in fact we have too many we

starting at the lettering so it's easier to edit and a crisper vector open the

Pathfinder window and then select one individual letter and unite it like so

you can now see that the T is perfectly outlined you can go ahead and do this

for each of our letters in our hand lettering design now we can start to

address the fact that there are too many anchor points in our lettering select

all of your letters and then groups object and simplify here you can lower

the amount of anchor points on your hand lettering obviously the less anchor

points you have the less curves you're going to have to try to find a happy

medium that keeps the overall shape of your hand lettering the same as before

you probably won't want to use a straight line option here and then

finally you can see the difference from the original design now you will be able

to edit the text a lot easier than before this is when you can start to

take the direct selection tool and look for small anomalies inside your hand

lettering when you find some click an anchor point like so it deletes and then

hit lead one last time now our hand lettering is cleaner we can

go ahead and start rearranging the lettering and after we can make it

somewhat stylish it commander to open up your rulers and bring down a guide from

the top you can make sure our lettering is level and aligned along the bottom

here whilst doing this we can use the REC selection tool to move anchor points

to edit the hand lettering further I will show you exactly how with the a

here click and drag anchor points or hold down shift to click multiple anchor

points at once and then move them around where you desire

whilst you are lying editing her lettering look for small normal ease on

the edges here as well to rectify these type of anomalies use a direct selection

tool to click and move one anchor point and then move the handles to address the

Cove I have another guide set up to align the type along this middle level

too using the black arrow selection tool move your letters around making sure the

coding between each individual letter is desirable and appealing to the eye

and we can add a technique to make our hand lettering stylish open the

Pathfinder window for this section of the tutorial and grab the pen tool we

will make a shape that's going to cut into the area of lettering like so so

after you make the shape select it with the selection tool and hold down shift

to select the letter as well and then use some - for an option in the

Pathfinder window you can now edit the cutaway section with direct selection

tool

so this is my hand lettering after using all of my tips that I've presented to

you in this tutorial I cleaned it up aligned it'll remove the normal ease I

added some stylish parts to let me know what you think and remember this was not

a tutorial on actual handling techniques but a tutorial on tips and editing hand

lettering like and share this video if you found it helpful and subscribe to

stay updated to all of my 5 graphic design uploads per week until next time

design your future today is

you
