Youtube daily report Jun 20 2017

Time travel has always been a fascinating topic that's been largely explored in a

multitude of written works of science fiction and countless sci-fi films for many, many

years.

But what's even more interesting is that tales of time travel go much further back

in our history, with some ancient texts that have existed for hundreds or thousands of

years mentioning or describing cases of people traveling forward in time.

With the existence of a variety of ancient legends and myths from different parts of

the world which seem to be literary interpretations of what could be actual examples of time traveling,

some of us just can't help but ask: Did certain ancient civilizations possess some

knowledge of time travel?

Well, though we can't answer this definitively just yet, for now, let us look into some of

the ancient texts which mention tales of people who have supposedly defied all laws of logic,

space and time.

One of the centuries-old stories that we will be talking about is the tale of the Seven

Sleepers.

The story of the Seven Sleepers of Ephesus is a tale that is quite significant in both

the Christian and Islamic tradition.

The Christian interpretation of the story goes like this: During the persecutions overseen

by the Roman emperor Decius sometime in 250 AD, seven young men were accused of being

worshippers of Christianity.

These individuals were given some time to renounce their faith, but instead, they chose

to surrender their material possessions by giving them to the poor and retiring to a

mountain cave.

Inside this cave, the seven young men prayed and eventually fell asleep.

When they awoke, they thought they had only slept for a day, but when they wandered into

the city to buy food, they were astounded to find buildings with the crosses of Christianity

attached to them.

And so, they came to the stunning realization that they had not slept for just one night,

but for two hundred years, and they had awakened at a time when Christianity had already spread

across the vast expanse of the Roman Empire.

A similar tale about these sleepers can be found in Surah 18 of the Qur'an.

Referred to as the story of the Companions of the Cave, it tells almost the exact same

story as the Christian version, only the Qur'an does not provide the exact number of the People

of the Cave who had miraculously been transported a couple of centuries into the future.

There are also several examples of time travel found in the Bible, and one of them is a story

about the disappearance of Jeremiah as told in the deuterocanonical Book of Baruch.

In the first part of this book, Jeremiah is told by God that Jerusalem will be destroyed

and that he has to bury and protect the vestments of the temple.

After that, he is to go into exile with his people until the day comes that God would

allow them to return.

But before the destruction of Jerusalem, Jeremiah instructed Abimelech, a eunuch, to bring back

figs from the orchard of Agrippa.

Abimelech, however, ends up falling asleep in the orchard.

And when he woke up, he was told by an old man that he had slept miraculously for the

last 66 years.

One of the very first stories that describes time travel can be found in the Hindu epic,

Mahabharata – an ancient text which is believed to have been written no later than 400 BCE.

This tale in that text follows a king, his daughter, and their quest to find her the

most suitable husband.

Revati was the only daughter of King Raivata Kakudmi, a monarch who ruled the prosperous

kingdom of Kusasthali.

Because the king thought her daughter was so beautiful and accomplished that no could

prove good enough to marry her, Kakudmi took Revati to Brahmaloka, the home of the creator

Brahma, to seek the powerful god's help in finding his previous daughter the perfect

suitor.

When they arrived, Brahma was listening to a musical performance so they had to patiently

wait until the performance was completed before Kakudmi could pay his respects and make his

request to the god.

However, once he did so, Brahma only laughed at the foolishness of the king.

The god revealed that during the time they had waited in Brahmaloka, 108 yugas had already

passed on Earth, with each yuga representing around 4 million years.

With Kakudmi and Revati completely astonished over how so much time had passed on Earth

during their short stay in Brahma's domain, Brahma had to explain to them that time runs

differently in different places of existence, which is interestingly similar to how modern

physicists and astronomers conceptualize space-time today.

Another ancient text that we will be discussing in this video is the Buddhist text of Pali

Canon, which, like the previous stories, also mentions the relativity of time.

It is written in this collection of scriptures in the Theravadan Buddhist tradition that

in the heaven of the thirty Devas, or the place of the Gods, "time passes at a different

pace, and people live much longer."

For example, one hundred years on Earth is equivalent to just a single day passing in

the heaven of the Gods.

The last story about time travel on this video comes from the Japanese legend of Urashima

Taro.

Urashima Taro is the protagonist of the legend about a fisherman who rescued a turtle from

harm, who turned out to be the daughter of the Emperor of the Sea, Ryujin.

To personally thank him and reward him for his actions, Taro was brought to the bottom

of the sea to visit the Palace of the Dragon God where she met the Emperor and princess

Otohime.

Taro stayed in the underwater palace for three days, but he eventually decided to go back

home to his village where his aging mother lived.

And so, he asked the princess's permission to leave, and before he left, she gave him

a mysterious box that will supposedly protect him from danger so long as he never opens

it.

However, when he reached land, he discovered that 300 years had already passed since he

had left the village and traveled to the bottom of the sea.

In grief of all that he had lost, he opened the box the princess gave him, which let out

a cloud of white smoke.

Suddenly, Taro aged rapidly, and from the sea, he heard the voice of the princess reveal

that kept inside the special box she gave him was actually his old age.

All the stories and texts I have just mentioned all paint the idea of time travel in the same

way that modern science has theorized it today: that time is relative and not absolute; and

that the past, present and future all exist simultaneously.

And while these myths and legends may just be stories concocted from the brilliant imagination

of their writers, they have opened an avenue of discourse that compels us to contemplate

what it could mean for humanity if there are those among us who have the means to travel

through time as well as the power to modify our history.

"Existence be on the pubescence" (subtitles available) - Duration: 4:26.

Hello dear Earthly dwellers, The fact that human incessantly structures society around

a preeminent being, a delusion of the omnipotence, simply proves mass psychosis!

The religiosity maintains stagnancy to the point of theft, disregarding reality and life

itself.

The indelible, ingrained incoherency has dictated a structural format, leaving human to illusory

existence.

Within this facade, allows human to deny reality in order to pursue a capricious nature.

This habituation leaves human in a mendicant state....

Absorbing and utilizing this, is a psychosis! nothing more!!

A surreptitious, covert composition leads the masses to judgment and ridicule, hiding

individuals behind the curtain to pull systemic strings without being seen, or so they thought!

If you will take a moment to observe the facts, not reinterpret, but the actual events that

have taken place, the answers are quite clear.

Human has and is taking advantage of this frontage to maintain control and power!

This nightmarish activity came to a destructive outset by The Amun Priesthood before the "murder"

of Akhenaten.

It is one thing to place value on the inanimate for exchange, but to make it encyclopedic

is a farce to reality...

A quixotic, unrealistic momentum fashions the future for all, therefore discontent for

everyone...

To be starry-eyed, and encompass all life within prodigal desires, tyrannize!

Cognitive dissonance devours thought, thus choice, resulting in the world we have to

date.

It is time to reeducate ourselves and learn to live within natural cohesion...

There is an existence beyond the pubescents.

How can an ENFP stop over analyzing everything? - Duration: 4:40.

hey Dan here and we have the second ask Dan question coming in from Darina

whose name I may be mispronouncing but she didn't tell me what country she's

from so I have no contact and I'm just going to butcher it like I do with most

names the question is how can an ENFP stop overanalyzing everything this

happens to me when I get bored or when I can't socialize as often with people

especially with my family because of stress work different lifestyles etc and

this is as you might guess not an uncommon problem for ENFP so overanalyze

right off the bat I would suggest checking out another video I did it was

from an INFP who wrote in the question about how do you deal with a buzzy mind

it's a little different in terms of like just an overactive mind but it's a very

similar concept and some of that content there will be helpful as well but in

terms over analyzing I think there's a few aspects of it one is I think aging

and maturity does help and I know that's the worst advice ever it's like I'll get

older and it will get better which is not necessarily that helpful but I do

think I mentioned in the in the last question that as enfps we develop our

thinking function more as we get older and that does help with controlling our

thoughts and that sort of thing as well and I just think that when you get older

you tend to gain a little more confidence and that tends to lead to a

little less overanalyzing with all that said I still overanalyze the crap out of

things and it's it's definitely a common problem there's a few things though that

I think can really help and one of those is giving yourself direction and having

something to do so you mentioned the times where you're often overanalyzing

is when you get bored or you can't socialize meaning you have this like

supercomputer lets your brain right super computer and it's sitting there

doing nothing so it's going to get bored and it's

going to do shit because it's bored right and that's what it will do so it's

unlike a normal computer that will just sit there idle our brains don't do very

good at idle so we are just hanging around especially if we're like you said

stress maybe we had a fight with a friend or

boyfriend a girlfriend or a boyfriend and a girlfriend if you live in France

too jealous of you guys so you know our brain is going to go to these places and

if you watch my other videos on a link to them on emotion and why you shouldn't

make decisions when you feel bad one of the things that happens is when we're

feeling down or anxious about something we our brain tends to go to bad places

and make bad decisions and in the ENFP case when you're also over analyzing

everything that's a destructive spiral there so you have the supercomputer it

needs something to do the best way to calmly over analyzing is give it

something to do and so I found having like my own business and having lots of

projects from the YouTube channel to writing a book to other things is that

my mind has somewhere to burn out its fuel for the day so by time I'm done

working for the day because my work involves my brain quite a bit and that

overanalyzing part I literally I guess overanalyze for a living is that by the

end of the day it's calmer it's burnt out because I've given it that venue to

use it like power and get it out of the system essentially and so that may be

one of the things where you want to spend some time maybe depending on where

you live again I don't know but maybe there's like philosophy meetups you can

go to or you can start going out to events or reading more on really

interesting topics or going out and talking to people more basically using

that part of your brain and trying to burn out some of the fuels so that you

aren't sitting there idle because you're describing what exactly what makes sense

what will happen right is you have this really busy brain and if you don't give

it somewhere to do and are somewhere to go and something to do it's just going

to go off and analyze every little situation which is probably driving you

nuts and maybe driving the people around you nuts as well so that would be my

suggestion find a place to direct that brain and I'm guessing you will find

that it slows down and does not overanalyze everything so much thanks

for watching this video stay tuned for the third question which is how can I

make housework more and coming up in this playlist and should

autoplay but if it doesn't they'll be like a card click it and subscribe to

the channel you have it yet and that's it

Andy Cohen Learns The Tricks Of The Kitchen | Season 1 | THE F WORD - Duration: 1:39.

I am as comfortable here as I am in an operating room.

GORDON RAMSAY: You're going to be fine.

CREW: 15 seconds.

GORDON RAMSAY: Yes, sir.

[music playing] Going head-to-head

with the amazing Andy Cohen today

who is charming as a host.

He has the most amazing kitchen at home, but it's never used.

So today, it was almost like trying to break it in.

When was the last time you actually

physically cooked at home?

I mean, I reheat in my toaster oven like several times--

Stop, stop, stop, stop.

Reheat.

I love my little broiler in my toaster oven.

I'm not kidding.

GORDON RAMSAY: Andy had to take direction from my voice.

Now, he's a energetic, charming host, doesn't

like being told what to do.

But today, he had no choice.

ANDY COHEN: Gordon was a really good teacher.

He didn't yell at me, which I was kind of scared of/ looking

forward to a little bit.

But he talks really fast, and he says

things like you're supposed to know the difference between--

what were those stars called?

Star anise. ANDY COHEN: Yes.

Star anise?

Have I ever cooked with star anise?

No.

I hear you pouring.

You're doing all this stuff, and I'm not doing anything.

What are you doing?

Everything was going well until the sauce,

where I had a little mishap.

GORDON RAMSAY: That is not a mishap.

That's called a disaster.

Do I have to clean that pan?

- Yes. - I do?

Ugh.

Congrats.

Thank you.

You're a nightmare in the kitchen.

Man.

So are you!

FAMOUS GRAVE TOUR - Westwood #3 (Natalie Wood, Bettie Page, etc. - Duration: 17:15.

Welcome to Hollywood Graveyard, where we set out to remember and

celebrate the lives of those who lived to entertain us, by visiting their final

resting places. Today we conclude our tour of Westwood Village Memorial Park, where

we'll find such stars as Bettie Page, Frank Zappa, Natalie Wood and many more.

Join us won't you?

For this final stretch of our tour of Westwood Village Memorial Park we'll be

visiting the central lawn of the cemetery. This lawn is little more than

an acre so due to space limitations many of the plots here are smaller cremation

graves. If you haven't done so already be sure to check out parts 1 & 2.

We'll begin our tour at the eastern edge of the lawn. Just a few spaces in from the

road we find actor Burt Lancaster. He was a popular leading man of the 50s and 60s

known as much for his dashing smile and statuesque frame as he was for his acting.

He was nominated for four Oscars winning in 1961 for "Elmer Gantry."

Other films include "The Rose Tattoo," "The Crimson Pirate," and "From Here to Eternity."

Several rows south we find singer Minnie Riperton. She was renowned for her vocal

range - an impressive five octaves. She began her career as a backup singer for

artists like Etta James and Chuck Berry. By the mid-70s she had her first

number-one hit, "Lovin' You."

[music]

Not long after Minnie was diagnosed with breast cancer

and underwent a mastectomy. She continued to record and tour through her cancer

battle, and in 1978 became a spokesperson for the American Cancer Society.

She died in 1979 at the age of 31. Her daughter is Saturday Night Live actress

Maya Rudolph.

A few spaces west on this same row is another legendary musician,

Carl Wilson.

Along with his older brothers Carl formed the band The Beach Boys

in the 1960s. The band quickly became one of the most popular and

influential groups of the era, defining the California sound. Carl was lead

guitarist and occasional vocalist, including on their hit "God Only Knows."

[music]

Straight north is the grave of Eve Arden. She was an actress whose career on stage

radio and screen spanned six decades. In 1954 she became the first actress to win

a Primetime Emmy for best female star, for her role in "Our Miss Brooks."

Other roles include "Anatomy of a Murder," "Grease," and

"Mildred Pierce," which earned her an Oscar nomination.

West along this row we find the queen of pinups Bettie Page.

With her trademark bangs, jet-black hair, and blue eyes, she became one of the most

popular pin-up models of the 50s, and since then has become a cultural icon

She began her career as a pin-up model but soon moved into nude and even fetish

and BDSM modeling in a time when it was still quite taboo, even illegal to do so.

She quit modeling upon her conversion to born-again Christianity and fell into

obscurity until she was rediscovered in the 80s and re-surged in popularity.

Her influence can be seen in popular and alternative culture - from The Suicide Girls

to Dita Von Teese, rock stars, and even comic book characters all pay

homage to Bettie. In 2012 a documentary titled "Bettie Page Reveals All" was made

about her life and features narrations by Bettie herself.

"Ladies and gentlemen

here she is now, that sultry siren of the Southland, Bettie Page.

Bettie Page is revolutionary. The symbol of joyous sexual freedom.

There was nothing like Bettie.

Still to this day inspires artists, music, the fashion world.

She really paved the way for all the rest.

She wasn't just a pretty face, there was a

fascinating story about this woman."

Several rows southwest of Bettie is

another model, Dorothy Stratten. She was a Canadian model who posed for Playboy in

the late 70s, and in 1980 was named Playmate of the Year. She also had a

brief acting career in B-films like "Galaxina." Shortly after the release of

the film Dorothy was shot and killed by her estranged husband and manager, who

then turned the gun on himself. She was only 20.

Further west, a few rows south,

is actress Dominique Dunne. She is best remembered for her spine-chilling

performance as Dana in the 1982 film "Poltergeist."

"What's happening?"

"WHAT'S HAPPENING!?"

"WHAT IS IT?!"

Her poltergeist co-star Heather O'Rourke is buried nearby, both having died

tragically young. On October 30th 1982 Dominique was strangled to

unconsciousness by her ex-boyfriend, John Sweeney, in the driveway of her home.

She went into a coma and died five days later at the age of 22.

Sweeney was convicted of voluntary manslaughter and spent a paltry three and a half years in

prison for her murder.

Further west is a cluster of small

cremation graves. Along the top row we find Sebastian Cabot. He was an English

actor perhaps best remembered as Mr. French, opposite Brian Keith, in the TV

sitcom "Family Affair," a role which earned him an Emmy nomination. He also lent his

voice to many Disney productions, including Bagheera in "The Jungle Book,"

and as the narrator on "Winnie the Pooh."

"This could be the room of any small boy,

but it just happens to belong to a boy named Christopher Robin. Like most small

boys Christopher Robin has toy animals to play with, and they all live together

in a wonderful world of make-believe. But his best friend is a bear called

Winnie the Pooh, or Pooh for short."

Continuing west, just south of a large

tree we find the grave of actor Jim Backus. He provided the voice of the

nearsighted cartoon, Mr. Magoo, and played the millionaire Thurston Howell III

on "Gilligan's Island."

[music]

Straight north, west of a tree, is the grave of Lew Ayres. He starred as Paul in

the 1930 film "All Quiet on the Western Front,"

and was nominated for an Oscar for his role in "Johnny Belinda."

Right next to Lew

is the unmarked grave of musician Frank Zappa, considered one of the most

influential and stylistically diverse rock musicians of his generation.

His music ranged from rock to jazz, fusion, even orchestral, and was often

experimental and improvised, with lyrics that satirized American culture.

One of his more popular songs, "Valley Girl," featured his daughter Moon.

[music]

I live in the valley and I can, like, totally relate to that song...

hashtag valspeak.

Zappa was incredibly prolific in his musical output.

In 1995 he was inducted into the Rock and Roll Hall of Fame, and in 2016 a

documentary was made about the life of Frank Zappa called

"Eat That Question: Frank Zappa in His Own Words.'

Let's head past the tree, back into the lawn.

Here we find the grave of Richard Dawson. He has the distinction of having kissed

more women on screen than anyone else in Hollywood. As the original host of

"Family Feud" he famously kissed every female contestant on the show, old and young,

earning him the nickname "the Kissing Bandit."

He also played Peter Newkirk on "Hogan's Heroes."

Just southeast of Dawson is the

unmarked grave of Roy Orbison. Roy was a popular rock and roll musician in the

60s and 70s. His hits include "Only the Lonely," "Crying,"

and "Oh, Pretty Woman."

[music]

Straight east is the grave of another legendary musician, Sammy Cahn.

He was a lyricist and songwriter,

known for his film and Broadway songs.

Many of his hits were recorded by Frank Sinatra, like "Come Fly With Me,"

and "Three Coins in a Fountain," which earned him an Academy Award for best song.

He was nominated for

an astounding 26 Academy Awards, winning four times. He also wrote the lyrics for

the beloved Christmas song, "Let It Snow! Let It Snow! Let It Snow!"

sung here by Dean Martin, who is buried nearby.

[music]

A bit further east is Donna Reed. She was an actress who can be seen in

such classic films as "It's a Wonderful Life" and "From Here to Eternity," for which

she won an Oscar. She also had her own TV sitcom, "The Donna Reed Show," which ran

from 1958 to 1966.

Just northwest is the grave of actor Eddie Albert. He is perhaps best

remembered for his role as Oliver Wendell Douglass on "Green Acres."

His co-star, Eva Gabor, is buried nearby. He was nominated for two Academy Awards

for his roles in "Roman Holiday," and "The Heartbreak Kid."

Back east, up a few rows,

is the grave of actor Bob Crane. His career began as a drummer and radio

personality before moving into television, where he found his greatest

success as Colonel Hogan on "Hogan's Heroes" which ran from 1965 to 1971.

In 1978, while living in Scottsdale, Crane was found bludgeoned to death in his

apartment. The murder remains unsolved to this day.

Just northwest we find actress

Natalie Wood. She won hearts the world over when she

was just nine years old for her role in "Miracle on 34th Street." A successful

acting career followed, transitioning from popular child star to ingenue,

when at 16 she starred opposite James Dean in "Rebel Without a Cause," a role

which earned her an Academy Award nomination. One of her best-known roles

is as Maria in the musical, "West Side Story."

[music]

The death of Natalie Wood in 1981 at the age of 43 is one of Hollywood's

lingering mysteries. She was on a holiday boat trip off Catalina Island with her

husband Robert Wagner and co-star Christopher Walken. Late on the night of

November 28th she somehow ended up in the water while trying to board a dinghy alone.

Her body was found the next morning a mile away from the boat, the

small dinghy found on a nearby beach. The official cause is listed as "drowning...

and other undetermined factors."

Finally we head west to find one of Hollywood's

legendary producers and studio kingpins, Darryl F. Zanuck. He is the man behind

20th Century Pictures, the most successful independent film studio in

the 1930s. In 1935 Zanuck merged 20th Century with Fox Studios, creating one of

Hollywood's greatest production companies, 20th Century Fox.

Notable films made under his tenure include "Laura," "The Grapes of Wrath," and

"All About Eve," which earned him an Oscar.

He wasn't afraid to tackle controversial

issues such as racism, anti-semitism, and environmentalism, long before such themes

were fashionable. The music from his film "The Longest Day," played at his funeral.

Thanks for watching, we'll see you on the next one!

One of the reasons Joe DiMaggio chose Westwood for Marilyn Monroe's resting

place was because two of her foster mothers were buried here. After Marilyn's

mother had a mental breakdown her mother's friend, Grace Goddard took

responsibility of young Marilyn - that is, Norma Jean. After a few stints in and out

of foster homes and orphanages Norma Jean found her only stable and somewhat

permanent home at the age of 12 with Grace's aunt, Ana Lower... the one woman

she considered the closest thing she had to a real loving mother.

"When I went to

live with a woman, her name is Mrs. E, period, Ana Lower, and I used to do the

dishes in the evening, and whistling, and she said 'I never heard a child sing so much.'

I did, during that period. I liked being with her, staying with her.

I always kept in touch with her,

I loved her very dearly.

Aunt Ana, I adored her."
