MANCHESTER UNITED have reportedly lined up Alexandre Lacazette as back-up in case their bid for Alvaro Morata fails. Arsenal still lead the chase for the Lyon striker, with the French club demanding close to £50million.

Alexandre Lacazette has decisions to make over his future. But LEquipe report that United are among clubs, including Chelsea, Liverpool, Atletico Madrid and Borussia Dortmund, that are also in the mix for Lacazettes signature.

 United are inching closer to netting Real hitman Morata. But it is said that they have been in touch with Lacazettes representatives over a possible move to Old Trafford.

The player is considering a move to Atletico, but would not be able to play for six months due to their transfer ban. A lack of playing time could then scupper his hope of going to next years World Cup.

Lacazette is being eyed by a host of elite European clubs.

Atletico were originally after him to replace Antoine Griezmann.

Lacazette has scored once in 11 appearances for France. That has given Arsenal hope, with Lyons president confirming the Gunners have made a very nice offer.

That bid is understood to be around the £30m mark, but Lyon are holdoing out for closer to £50m.

Chelsea are trying to seal a deal for Evertons Romelu Lukaku but are said to be adopting a similar approach to United, having made an enquiry to Lacazettes people.

Alvaro Morata remains Man Utds first-choice striker target.

But Jose Mourinho is looking into alternatives in case Moratas move stalls. Liverpool have also been watching the 11-cap striker, while Dortmund are eyeing him as a replacement for Pierre-Emerick Aubameyang.

Lacazette came through the ranks at Lyon an netted 36 times in 44 league and cup games last season.
