Youtube daily report Apr 23 2017

Welcome to my YouTube channel I've just made this channel because I want

a platform where I can talk about books Because a lot of my friends don't read the

same books as I Most of them don't even read books

They're more into math and science and I fully respect you can be into both but they're solely

into math and science (which is cool!)

So there's not a lot of people I can talk about books with.

The ones I can talk about books with don't read the same books as I.

They read non-fiction or historical fiction.

I love historical fiction but I don't read that much historical fiction.

I read more contemporary and classics.

People are kind of afraid of classics, I was too about a year ago.

Don't worry I don't want to be famous :))) I just want a place to talk about books.

A book I'm reading right now (it's my mom's book) I just picked up one day.

It's called "The Husband's Secret" It's pretty good.

I'm actually reading 2 books right now but that's one of them.

The other one is 1984. I'm doing that for my EE.

Maybe I'll make a book review about that ;) I'm really excited for this channel

I wanted to create this channel because (sorry I know the captions don't match here but I got lazy :))

I enjoyed watching videos of other people talking (again I am lazy)

for example, 2 book-Youtubers i liked were Hailey In Bookland and Ariel Bisset.

I have a lot in common with them. And they just inspired me to make this channel

And that's pretty much all for today, thanks for watching!

See you soon :)

Booktube - Duration: 6:14.

(awkwardly starts) Hello Something I just want to talk about briefly

is a trend I've noticed on booktube.

I love booktube don't get me wrong but I've just noticed a book-trend where booktubers

just talk about the same books Not just within their own channels but the

whole booktube community as a whole.

There's a select few books that are in circulation.

I've read some of them and most of what I've read definitely deserve to be in circulation.

They're good.

I'm not complaining that they're in circulation.

It's just that they're the same books.

I've read other YA novels and just novels in general that are really good and deserve

to be talked about too.

What am I even talking about???

I'm not criticizing anyone.

I'm just...I don't know what the point of this video is really.

*My dad walks in on me talking to my laptop and then leaves*

(also sorry for the noise - my mom was having a shower)

I was just thinking we need a diversity of books in circulation.

I don't really know...I'm just speaking off the top of my head.

( I repeat myself a lot) I guess my frustration comes out of wanting

to get more recommendations to add to my To Be Read list.

And I don't have that many because it's the same books being recommended every time.

Like I said they deserve to be recommended but I want there to be other books.

Books I've never heard of before.

So, the call to action would be, don't be afraid to read books even if they haven't

been recommended.

Don't be afraid to browse on your own and pick a book up because you like the cover.

And I know we're not supposed to judge a book by its cover but let's be honest, we do.

And you should read it even if you haven't heard much about it

That being said, some books that have been recommended just aren't for you.

For example, (this is a controversial opinion) Heartless by Marissa Meyer has been praised

so I thought I would give it a go.

And it was going well until the end of the middle and I realized I didn't like it.

(yes I did finish the book but it barely redeemed itself)

Anyways, not all highly recommended books are for you.

So don't be afraid to venture out of people's recommendations.

(I say recommended a lot) To summarize, a lot of the same books have

been popping up on various people's recommendation lists and it's repetitive.

So if you're trying to learn about new books that you haven't heard of before it can be a little frustrating.

There's a lot of great books out there that aren't well known.

Thanks for watching!
