Youtube daily report Jan 3 2017

Well hello guys its Cindy Lietz, your Polymer Clay Tutor, and in today's video, I'm going

to show you how to make a Gingham Cane.

And this is a really neat little extruded cane that you can do in lots of different

colors, and I have a few different examples here.

I have one in the Turquoise colors.

And here's the same one, only reduced and combined into a smaller pattern.

I also have it in Red and Yellow, you can do this in any colors that you like.

I've got quite a few different beads here to show you that I made with the Gingham Cane.

And I've got some cubes here, some rounds, they make great looking buttons, I've got

a little couple of little buttons here.

Here's some little charms in Red.

You can even make Lentil beads with the Gingham Cane, and it turns out quite neat.

And I've got some of these little split hearts with the Turquoise center and the cane on

the outside, so you can see that there's lots that you can do with this simple cane.

Now, we're going to use

Knitting Polymer Clay Tutorial (Intro Vol-032-2) - Duration: 2:00.

Well hello everyone its Cindy Lietz your Polymer Clay Tutor, and in today's video I'm gonna

show you how to do some Faux Knitting with your Polymer Clay.

And I've got some really neat samples of how you can make Polymer Clay look just like a

cozy knitted sweater.

I've got a cuff here that I've covered in the technique with several different little

swatches of the Faux Knit.

I've got a little pendant here which actually looks like a little sampler, and it has a

bit of a modern twist to it being in the Silver bezel.

And this is bezel that I got from Terry Morris from Epoxy Jewelry which is really quite a

neat little bezel, and it's a neat way to show the sample of Faux Knit.

I've got a couple of pair of earrings here which I've added a little eyelet to which

lends itself really nicely to the Faux Knit because generally eyelets are used with cloth,

so it really looks good with the technique.

Here's another little mitten made with the Faux Knit.

And a little tiny, tiny, little scarf charm, so this is done with really, really tiny little

knit.

Here's a little pair of mittens, you could use this as a pendant or a charm, and I've

got it hanging on the little yarn string that the little kids would have for not losing

their little mittens.

And you probably head of buttons on a sweater, well this button looks like a sweater, so

that's another use that you can use with this technique.

Now there are few ways of going about this, first of all, you're going to need

Polymerized Fabric Roses Polymer Clay Tutorial (Intro Vol-032-3) - Duration: 2:04.

Hi Guys it's Cindy Lietz, your Polymer Clay Tutor, and in today's video, I'm gonna show

you how to make Polymerized Fabric Roses.

And they are a really pretty little rose made with the Polymerized cloth that we did in

Volume 32 - 1.

And I have a few examples of the cloth, and what it is, is a Polymerized cloth that can

be cut and made into all kinds of beautiful things.

And in today's tutorial, I'll show you how to make these roses.

Now this rose was made with a piece of Organza Ribbon that was Polymerized.

And here's another one here with some inked ribbon that we did the technique on, and this

one's sitting in a really beautiful, little Silver plated bezel.

Here is another one where I used a piece of plaid fabric, and that's the rose I'm gonna

show you today.

And one neat feature of these roses over a regular fabric rose is that, first of all,

the fabric being Polymerized means that it's much more durable, it is waterproof; it won't

get stained or discolored in any way.

Also it's a little bit stiffer, but it still has that dainty, lightweight feel to it, and

it just really, really is special.

And then this one here is done on a necklace with some Soft Flex wire.

And what's wonderful about these little roses is the lightweight feel to them, it won't

weigh down something as delicate as this Soft Flex wire, so it will sit and hang really

nicely.

Now you could also use these little roses for earrings and that kind of thing 'cause

they're so lightweight.

Now what you're gonna need for this project is

Polymerized Cloth Polymer Clay Tutorial (Intro Vol-032-1) - Duration: 2:00.

Hi guys it's Cindy Lietz, your Polymer Clay Tutor, and in today's video I'm going to show

you how to make Polymerized Cloth.

And what a Polymerized Cloth is, is a fabric that has been treated with Polymer Clay and

has become a whole different material that you can work with.

And I've got a couple of art cloths here, but I'll show you what I have made with it.

Here is a pair of earrings done in a kind of a cone shape, and this is done with Copper

wire and has quite an earthy feel to it, very pretty.

Here's a similar shape, this is done into a pendant with a little Sterling chain dangle,

and this one was actually made with a dryer sheet.

You know the fabric softener sheets that you put in the dryer…I have a couple of precautions

if you're going to be using dryer sheets which I'll talk about in a bit.

I've also got… this one was also done using the dryer sheet, but it was stamped on top,

and then there was a little grommet put in the center eyelet.

You can use this technique for using any kind of die cut machine with it, so you can really

come up with some neat ideas.

Here is a little butterfly hair clip that I made for my niece, and the wings were made

with the Polymerized Cloth.

And then lastly is a pair of little earrings with the pretty, pretty little disc on them

that was done with the Polymerized Cloth.

And in this case, the edges around this one were singed with a lighter, so it gives quite

a unique and very pretty, almost modern kinda look to it.

So I'm gonna show you how this is done.

What you're going to need

Aurora Technique Polymer Clay Tutorial (Intro Vol-033-1) - Duration: 1:50.

Hi Guys it's Cindy Lietz, your Polymer Clay Tutor, and today I'm gonna show you an original

technique that I call, the Aurora Technique.

And it's named that because of the Aurora Borealis or the Northern Lights, and that's

what this beautiful technique mimics.

Now, I'll show you some of the beads that I have here.

I've got two different versions, and in fact both versions were done with the same colors,

they were just put together a little differently.

And you will see here, I've got a Red version and a Blue version, and the colors are just

wonderful, they have bands that shift from one color to the next, they have little swirls

and different color combinations that are just lovely, just like the real northern lights.

I've got another bead here done with the Red version, just beautiful.

I've also got one here…this would probably be my favorite one of the whole Red set, the

way the colors just shift and mingle together, this is on a hammered bookmark, and it's just

a really beautiful little bead.

I've also done the technique on a pendant, and it's just as lovely on the front as it

is on the back.

I've also got another pendant here, and this one ended up looking a little bit like a tree

in the center here.

And what I'm gonna show you is just how super, super simple this technique is for how complicated

and beautiful it looks, I think you're really going to enjoy that.

Now what you need for colors is

Leaf Vein Bails Polymer Clay Tutorial (Intro Vol-031-3) - Duration: 1:21.

Hi guys it's Cindy Lietz, your Polymer Clay Tutor, and in today's video I'm going to show

you how to make Leaf Vein Bails.

And these are really neat little bails that are incorporated right into the design of

the pendant.

And I've got few examples here, this is the one that kinda started it all, I had a leftover

piece of Rainbow Skinner Blend and a small piece of wire, and I ended up incorporating

the bail right into the veining of the design, and here's the loop here where you would put

your necklace through.

Here's another example done the same way.

I've got leaf cane here used with a bail onto the side here.

I've also used a feather cane for this one, and since it's already in the leaf shape it

works out quite well for this bail.

And I've also done this one using Silver Wire and made a pair of earrings from it.

So you can see that there's quite a few different ways you can go about making these bails.

Now, what you're gonna need

Making Metal Bracelet Blanks Polymer Clay Tutorial (Intro Vol-033-2) - Duration: 1:47.

Hi Guys its Cindy Lietz, your Polymer Clay Tutor, and in today's video I'm going to

show you how to make Hammered Metal Bracelet Blanks.

And this is a really neat thing to be able to make on your own, so that you can cover

it with Polymer Clay.

Hi Guys its Cindy Lietz, your Polymer Clay Tutor, and in today's video I'm going to

show you how to make Hammered Metal Bracelet Blanks. And this is a really neat thing to

be able to make on your own, so that you can cover it with Polymer Clay. Now, bracelet

blanks can be done in all kinds of sizes, and I've got 1 ½", 1 ¼", 1", ¾"

and a ½" size. And you can make them out of all kinds of different metals if you like.

You can make it out of Galvanized Steel, like these ones are made out of, and I just got

that at the hardware store. You could also make it out of Copper, Brass or even an old

cookie tin or chocolate tin, any kind of metal will work perfectly for this project. Now

I've got a couple of examples of how I've covered the bracelet blanks in Polymer Clay.

Here is one covered in Faux Knit, and that's a technique that we did in Volume 32. Here

is one covered in the Aurora Technique, and we just did this technique in the last video.

And then here's one covered with Polymer Clay Zebra canes, and we did that technique back

in Volume 24. So you can see that you can get quite a wide range of different looks

from this particular technique, next week, I'll show you how to cover the bracelet blank

in clay. Now what you're gonna need is

Hello guys its Cindy Lietz, your Polymer Clay Tutor, and in today's video I'm going to show

you how to put Polymer Clay on Metal Blanks.

And last week we learned how to make these metal blanks here, and you can make them any

size and they're hammered metal.

And this week, I'm gonna show you how to add Polymer Clay to your blanks so that you can

make these beautiful bracelets and cuffs.

Now, you could also use this technique for any other commercially made bracelet blanks

that are out there, and there's a variety of sizes, some that are very skinny and some

that are quite wide.

How To Mix Polymer Clay Color Recipes Tutorial (Intro Vol-033-4) - Duration: 1:54.

Hi Guys it's Cindy Lietz, your Polymer Clay Tutor, and in today's video I'm gonna show

you some tips and tricks for mixing color recipes.

Now as you know, Polymer Clay comes in lots of wonderful colors, but as an artist or a

crafter, it would be very limiting if we were stuck using only the colors available in the

package.

So therefore we have figured out ways to mix colors of our own, but sometimes that can

be a bit of a tricky process, and has a bit of a learning curve to it.

So what I've done, to make it easier for everyone, is I've made available color recipes where

you can just follow the recipe and end up with the colors that I've designed for you.

Now, here is an example of one of the color palettes that was based on the Johnny Jump-Up

Flower, and it's got the 4 colors here on recipes, and here is the cane that I've made

using those particular colors, now using the color recipes is a great way for making colors

that flow together really nicely.

Here's another example of a color palette, this is the Autumn Beauty Sunflower Palette

from Volume 28, and we used that to make the Spotted Lily Cane, and the colors just flow

and go wonderfully together because they were designed that way.

But there have been a few questions from people on how to actually mix up these recipes, so

I thought I'd show you how I go about it and make it easier for you.

Now, each color recipe

Faux Druzy Polymer Clay Tutorial (Intro Vol-031-2) - Duration: 2:36.

Hi guys it's Cindy Lietz, your Polymer Clay Tutor, and in today's video I'm going to show

you how to make Faux Druzies.

Now I've been trying to figure out how to do this for quite a while, and I finally came

up with a neat way of copying what Druzies are.

And Druzies are a natural stone that have the crystals on the top, and you may have

seen Amethyst done this way before.

But I got a few different ways of making these really unique stones, and I'll just show you

a few examples of them here.

Now I've got one here that was done with only just a few crystals poking out of the top

here, and it was done in a mold using some Alcohol Inks and other things, and you can

see it has quite a natural stone look.

Here's another one here that looks like that it was embedded in some Faux Jade, and here's

a few, just a few, crystals to the side.

Here's another one here where there's lots of crystals on the top side, and it's in a

Translucent base.

I've got some smaller stones here that were done… here's one in a little locket here,

and this one was done in the same way as the first stone I showed you with some inks and

things, and there's a nice little cavity in here where the crystals are showing.

I've got a couple more that are very similar to that, and they were just done with different

colors of ink, one with ink and one without.

Now, you can also embed these crystals in top of regular Polymer Clay.

I've got a couple of examples here where I've done a Faux Agate type technique, and then

done the Druzy effect on the top here.

And then I have some plain pieces here where I've added… this one here I've used a Black

base and the crystals in the top, and it has quite a neat look here.

This one was a little bit different shape, and I also added a little bit of Micah powders

to the crystals and you get this shimmery kind of Blue look in with the Gold.

And then here's some more with another Micah powders and stuff, so you can see that there's

a lot of really unique looking stones that you can get with this effect.

Now, what you're gonna need for materials

Shaded Rose Cane Polymer Clay Tutorial (Intro Vol-032-4) - Duration: 1:48.

Hi Guys its Cindy Lietz, your Polymer Clay Tutor, and in today's video I'm gonna show

you how to make a Shaded Rose Cane with no background.

And this is something you've been asking me to make for you for a while, and I finally

came up with a really nice and simple way to make a beautiful shaded rose.

Now I've got a little garden of roses here, this is an intermediate cane, so if you've

never made a cane before, it's gonna be important that you do know how to do a Teardrop blend…

which is in Volume 9.

And that you know how to reduce a cane, and I recommend that you take the Leaf Cane Videos,

and that's in Volume 10.

But if you are a beginner, you should be able to pull this off with a little bit of practice.

I've got some samples here of what I've made with the Rose Cane.

Here is a pendant that I used some slices in a fabric sheet.

Here is a pendant that was done in a Silver bezel, and it's got UV Resin on the top.

I've got more traditional Millefiori style beads here with several little rose canes

on round beads.

I've got some cane slices used as earrings, here's a pair here in a Dark Copper-y kind

of color.

I've also got a pair of earrings that are in a little cup shape which were baked on

a little marble to give it a real pretty lightweight flowery look.

I also used the ends of the cane to make these really pretty little heart beads which are

perfect for Valentine's.

Now what you're gonna need to do

S. Korean Army conducts large-scale artillery drill - Duration: 1:25.

Dozens of South Korean Army artillery units have been taking part in a large-scale drill

on the inter-Korean border.

The exercises serve the purpose of sending a strong warning to Pyongyang that any attack

will come at a price.

Our Kim Hyun-bin has more.

North Korea fires of hundreds of artillery rounds into the South, damaging several South

Korean military bases.

Within seconds, South Korea's counter artillery radar detects the origin of the shots.

Dozens of tanks, including homegrown K-9 heavy artillery units, take aim at the designated

targets and fire off hundreds of artillery rounds.

Bullseye.

The targets are totally demolished.

This is all part of a counter target exercise undertaken by the South Korean Army's artillery

unit on Monday to better prepare against artillery attacks from the North.

The South Korean military says the drills are to warn Pyongyang that Seoul is ready

to counter any threats from the regime.

"We keep our firepower on standby to precisely target the enemy.

If the enemy launches a provocation, we will act to counter it."

38 Army artillery units nationwide with 35 K-9 self-propelled heavy artillery units and

over 150 other tanks took part in the drills.

Eczema Flare Ups | Re: Holiday Season, Dietary Choices, Sleep - Duration: 5:49.

Hello it's Xena here again.

I'd like to touch base on the Holiday Season, dietary choices, sleep, and of course eczema. So eczema flare ups.

As mentioned in my previous video, I stated (5) tips that really helped me heal my eczema, my skin.

I'll say them again and these tips are:

Eating clean, whole foods.

Exercising daily.

Reaching out to your social supports.

Having adequate amounts of sleep and

of course being patient, gentle with yourself during your healing process.

In regards to eczema flare ups, I'd like to touch on dietary choices and sleep.

The reason why I believe these (5) tips really helped me heal my skin is because

I'm a walking example of why it, it truly has worked for me. So

I'd like to show you right now the flare ups that I have. They're very little compared to what my skin use to be years back but I'll show you first. So

You can see this red patch here on my left cheek and you can also see redness here on my right cheek.

And I also feel an itchy sensation underneath my eyelids and around my throat here, my neck.

And I'll just show you my hands. They're quite dry and itchy.

But I think my hands are mainly due to me washing my hands constantly as I work in the health care setting.

You can see one here, a couple.

You can see a couple here too.

You can see some here.

Right here.

I apologize you may not be able to see them but I'll describe them a little bit. These little bumps, they have little pus- like whiteness underneath it and

where these little flare ups show are in places that I've had my severe eczema before and

I just wanted to say I believe these flare ups are due to my indulgences in the chocolate, the biscuits, or the Vietnamese desserts that my family makes.

I follow and live by my (5) tips that I've shared with you in my previous video.

Though during the Holiday Season, I've learned to allow myself to have a few treats there with family, with friends out of either respect or just enjoying the moment with friends and family.

I use to be really hard on myself. I would never have a little treat. I would never have even a small candy just because I was very strict on my regiment.

Over the years, I've learned to kind of allow myself to learn I guess the art of moderation.

And if I do have flare ups that it's not the end of the world.

Though I get these eczema flare ups, I hope that they don't spread from head to toe again.

And for me to prevent that, I kind of am extra cautious about what I am putting into my body.

I like to see my eczema flare ups, even though they're quite small right now, to be a reminder for me to you know, get back on track, to watch what I'm doing.

like a reminder.

It's not the end of the world. I know that though it's irritating to me, it will, it will get better.

And in terms of sleep, I have been lacking in that department due to work, social gatherings, and just the Holiday itself. And that's okay too.

I notice too that during the Holiday Seasons, my skin usually gets more flare ups than the normal.

And I think that is because of, again, the lack of sleep and having the extra indulgences that I usually don't have.

I just wanted to say that these flare ups they come up sometimes and that's okay. It's, I think the importance is to learn how to

watch yourself and learn how to manage your skin when you have these indicators.

I encourage you to have those treats in moderation of course and to not be so hard on yourself when you do have those treats.

Continue on your journey of eating clean, exercising, having good sleep, and reaching to your social supports. And most importantly to not be hard on yourself during your process.

Again today I still get my flare ups and that's okay.

I've learned to manage my skin and kind of watch what I do to myself when it comes to my skin.

Thank you for watching and good luck. Take care.

GENDER AND DIVERSITY / Reality and Meaning Co-construction - Duration: 2:02.

What we do

we are a part of a group

that is the

international program of collaborative and dialogical practices.

And we are under the umbrella of postmodern ideas and social constructional ideas.

But I think that the most important is

how do we create reality

and reality is created

through language in social relations.

So we have all the time

to be really aware of what we are saying,

taking care of the other

of what they are saying, and trying to understand as much as possible.

Because we have to be as close as possible

to understand what the others are saying.

and try to create a new language,

that is going to be local.

Because we are all the time translating

- even if you speak in Czech and I would speak Czech -

I hope so …

even though

we think we are saying the same word

we are always trying to understand the other

because what for you is a word

for me is in a different way.

So we are always trying to understand the other

and we always try to understand

what are we all trying to do together.

What we are experts

if we can say it in that way

is to create the dialogical space.

and that means

that we really open the space

for everybody

to come and be invited to our conversation.

GENDER AND DIVERSITY / Trust in the Process - Duration: 1:44.

To trust in the process,

that's a huge, huge

concept

and I think it is

a long, long story about...

how to trust in the process.

But I am going to try to put an example

that maybe will help

to you.

It is that

many times we think that

when we are talking to someone... that something is going to happen...

something that you know is going to happen

with the surprises that you never know.

And if you are creating the space for a dialogue,

in that moment you are

trusting in the process.

Because the most important thing is that

you are creating the space for a dialogue.

You are not directing,

you are not telling them what to say.

You are not saying what do they really want to say

because you don't know.

So the idea is to create a space,

and when you create the space

and really care about

the dialogue,

that is the moment

when you just do like that

and that means trust in the process.

because the process is going to flow

it's going to flow because you are opening the space for dialogue.

It's the capital of the Mayan world.

The Mayan are our ancestors

and we have a lot of knowledge that they have left to us.

And they are presently come alive.

I am working in Kanankil –

that is the name of the institute where I work.

and it's, in Mayan it means "In conversation".

It's a wonderful name

because that's what we do…

we stay in conversation all the time.

We have Master degrees,

and of course you are always invited to come

to Kanankil in Merida. You can go

and stay with our students,

stay with us and enjoy a lot of conversations about

life.

That's what we do…

to talk and learn about how to create spaces for dialogue.

hello and welcome welcome to the day's

livestream tutorial today we're going to

be doing something special I special

during this live stream tutorial I'm

going to show you how to make a make a

festive card you know to post online

basically you know since new year's

new-year's just happen as i will show

you how to make make your own car that

you would like to post online on social

media or whatever and i guess i'll show

you the process I want to think about my

creating a card so okay so the first

thing that I thought about was that okay

with the space that i have with the with

the paper that i'm using you know I'm

going long ways so I'm create a busy and

basically do you divide the paper into

sections you know have you know create

space for the title and create space for

like your character that you're going to

be adding to the card you know so i

decided to do is just have like a little

dancing baby on one side and then having

the title happy new year or happy 2017

on on one side you know since like the

new year new Year's is always seem to

have like a baby as it's a mascot to

help I guess it's like a bit of

symbolism with like the start of a new

year new babies born or something like

that

so start with this head have a little

guideline here babies always have like

little fat cheeks there was happy jolly

big nose and smile

all right almost forgot to bring up the

stream

ok have

so as I was saying you know just have a

little dancing baby gotta get up on it

you know he's standing up straight

he's doing like a little kick thing like

them if your sauce showgirls something

like that i have his arms out babies

don't really have that big the next so

it's ok not have his next showing going

to have a little fist

so the way I'm having standing is sort

of like a standing upright his head is

tilted back and he has one leg on the

floor and one leg kicking out

half like the bottom of his foot showing

since it's a this leg is upright

and then have the other foot at the

bottom here and now draws the on the

other arm

ok added a little came here

ok now I'm going to continue with the

face i was somewhat in facing towards us

add a bit of I going to his eyes filling

it in and that little strength to his

hat

ok since we got that we can move over

that this section of the paper but would

be drawing out the happy new year or

happy 2017 whichever way you would like

to do it I guess add a little flair to

it you can have cool designs like drop

the word happy new year

first and then sort of decide on how do

you do you want to look

design-wise happy new year

like the makeup old boats that like like

normally when i post to Twitter they

seem to make the image is slightly

smaller like everybody shows up in other

people's feet so that's why so if you

want to really make cards like these

gotta make the text big and bold so that

other people managed to get a glimpse of

it and then they'll choose the click on

it

happy new year 2017 ok and add a little

flair to it

maybe have some of the letters

there's bend and fold my cool shapes to

them

I'm just making it up as I go like with

these little designs so like current the

wise everything has like every line has

like a bit of a car curve to it and it's

good to have a consistency since like

like notice here what I did with the A's

try to keep the the flow design very

similar to each other

ok forgot to add a little belly button

here okay we can start thinking at the

moment we can start thinking okay i'll

start by using my dick tip sharpie

so I hope everybody's up and have it had

a good at New Year seat New Year's Day

party or whatever if you party of your

family doesn't choose the party that's

fine too

you know you know if you're free to

leave a comments you know if you had an

awesome new years you know what sort of

new year's resolution do you plan on

doing if you have any

we had a bit of freckles there

with that will work over this side

they'll make them work bubbles

so yeah I guess i'll talk about my own

new year's resolution i guess just to do

better than what i did last year going

to be more productive try to put out

more contents

that's pretty much it you know just just

get better make better stuff try to get

more followers and subscribers that's

pretty much it

yep ok now feel this part in wait let me

move to a different sharpie have a thick

one help fill in where I put it

not this one this one is running a

little dry

oh here it is

ok with that our do this here to fill in

the eyes okay a little bit of a racing

and then i'll switch on over to my thin

tip sharpie to do other details final

details

auntie bring out of 10 section and do a

bit of toning little bit to the half

able to hear just behind ahead

little bit here under the arms

some here under the leg

some around here on the foots

let's forget to fill in this came here

ok

ok let's see if I can do something

add a little somethings atoning to these

letters here help them stand out

ok

ok

so i guess a couple tips about the best

places and to post your cards or post

our work at the moment is that no

currently i'm mostly post on twitter at

the moments twitter since like if you

think about it logically if you post it

on someplace like TV arch I mean sure

deviantart has like where other artists

are but like you know it's just like

it's just artist looking at other

artists work i don't know how many

artists would try to help promote other

artists work because those artists

themselves might also be trying to get

their own stuff promoted as well so that

sort of my reason why I don't post on

deviantart that's why I like posting on

to twitter since on twitter you know

it's like a huge social media platform

or like anybody and everybody good cat

has the potential to see your stuff

but that's just you know my opinion you

know it's like I've just seen a lot more

success and getting more attention on

twitter that i have on other forms of

social media that refused before like

Facebook Tumblr Twitter and I sort of

started on tumblr this year so still

checking out see how how good it is to

see what else i could add there's

anything else i could add

No

maybe couple underlines

mmm

yeah I suppose suppose this could be

fine

oh yeah a couple little toning here to

under the chin

ok with that we are good i hope you

enjoyed it leave a like if you did and I

feel free to leave a comment suggesting

things that you would like to see me

draw

oh you'll find a skinned version of this

drawing in the near future at least on

my Twitter and Tumblr a live link to

that in the description below

yes

be sure to check out my other stuff have

a comic Dawn the Mask be sure to check

that out you know if you enjoy

detectives going out you know fighting

bad guys solving mysteries

maybe this comic is for you feel free to

check that out

live stream that you get a good look at

this drawing
