Welcome.
My name is Peter Strong and I specialize in mindfulness-based Skype counseling.
If you're interested in working with anxiety or depression and learning how to stop becoming
overwhelmed by anxiety or depression or anxiety-based thinking or rumination or any other form of
reactive thinking, then you'll find that the mindfulness-based approach is perhaps one
of the best.
It's very practical, it is very focused, and it teaches you skills for working with reactive
thoughts and with emotions.
It will teach you how to change the way that you relate to your emotions and thoughts so
that you do not become so easily identified with them.
This is the most important step that you will learn during the Skype counseling sessions
- how to essentially sit with your thoughts or emotions without becoming identified with
them, without becoming lost in your thoughts or emotions, and in this way we can train
ourselves out of the habit of reactive thinking.
It's doesn't take very long.
Usually most people can see quite significant changes after three to four sessions, sometimes
longer.
But, it's very very effective because it's very focused on the actual cause of your anxiety
or depression.
Other forms of psychotherapy don't necessarily focus on changing this underlying cause.
Talk therapy may relieve symptoms.
Medications may relieve symptoms.
But they do nothing to change this underlying problem with habitual reactive thinking.
You have to change that if you want to break free from anxiety or depression.
If you'd like to learn more about the mindfulness-based Skype counseling that I offer, simply go to
my website and then email me and we can schedule a Skype therapy session at a time that works
for you.
The mindfulness approach is perhaps one of the best approaches available for working
with anxiety or panic attacks, and if you want to learn more, simply email me and then
I will answer any questions you may have, and we can schedule a Skype counseling session
as a time that was for you.
Thank you.
