Hey guys so I am back again, definitely wearing the exact same clothes that I
was in my last video, because I'm not about to change just for another one. In
this video I'm gonna talk a little bit about what I want to read in November
and throughout the rest of the year. I only have a couple things on my TBR and
on my holds list at the library so I'm hoping get most of them done, but we will
see. So from my last TBR video I still have a couple of classics that I need to
finish, the first one of those is This Side of Paradise by f Scott Fitzgerald.
I have about 3/4 more of this book to go, through I've read some of the short
stories that are included. But I still have to go through the rest of the
stories in here. Next is Anna Karenina by Leo Tolstoy. I've not started this whatsoever.
Then finally, Crime and Punishment by Fyodor Dostoevsky, however...
how many times have I had to say this in one of these videos. Um, I probably
won't get done with all three of these by the end of the year, if not one of
them, just because I have a lot of other stuff that I want to get to so they're
still on my list though. A couple of other books that I actually have on hand
that I'm working on is the Pale Horse by Agatha Christie. So, I actually just
finished this about an hour or two ago. I liked it but I didn't love it
as much as Murder on the Orient Express, but I am still really intrigued to read
more Agatha Christie, because I actually do like her a lot more than the Sherlock
Holmes novels. So I'm interested to see if I like classic mysteries more, so I
enjoyed this, I look forward to picking more of hers up. One other book that I
have is Choose Your Own Autobiography by Neil Patrick Harris. I love Neil Patrick
Harris, I look at this half the time, every time I go to the library so I just
decided to go ahead and pick it up just because I kind of want to know a little
bit more about his life. We're also going to see him at the Candlelight
Processional again this year at Epcot so that's really exciting. Next up is
something super exciting and that is the Empress by SJ Kincaid. This is the sequel
to the Diabolic which I read over the summer and I really really enjoyed. I
haven't started this whatsoever and I don't really remember the kind of the
end of the plot in the last one so I'll have to google it, but I'm very excited.
I'm hoping that this lives up to my expectations because I really just want
a series to do better on the second book because I'm very disappointed in books that
are so good at first and they kind of go downhill from there, but I am super
excited to read this one. I also picked up another classic at the library
recently for a dollar and that was Catch-22 by Joseph Heller.
Um, I haven't actually any idea what this book is about, I read the back when I
picked it up but I haven't read it since so I just know that I want to read a lot
of classics and it's a dollar and it's paperback. It's super floppy which is
great because I hate hardbacks and I hate, like, anything that's hard to read I
don't like it, so I'll probably get around to this before the end of the
year, just because it looks so easy. And like the text it's pretty good so yeah. I
have a couple books on my TBR from the library, the first one of those is
Bonfire by Krysten Ritter and it actually should show up tomorrow I'm hoping, so I
can take it to work. But Krystin Ritter played Jessica Jones in the Marvel
Netflix show and she was so good and I love her and I had no idea she was
coming out with a book, so very excited. And I've only heard good reviews about
it The next book is Renegades by Marissa Meyer. Um I don't really know that much
about this one. I think it's kind of like a game-ish kind of like Marie Lu kind of
story. She's known for cinder series which I
really enjoyed, but I'm not sure if I want to read another like YA sci-fi,
dystopian kind of novel. I'm keeping my mind open, I do enjoy miss Marissa Meyer
so I'm not like objecting to it, if I get around to it I'll get around to it, but
the covers really cool. One that I definitely know I want to read by the
end of the year is The Name of the Wind by Patrick Rothfuss. Number one because
I've heard about this for years and years of how good it was and I just
still have not picked it up. Number two because I need another sci-fi fantasy in
my life because I have not read any fantasy other than like Lord of the
Rings lately, which is, you know, a classic but like I need something new. And then
third because Lin-Manuel is helping produce the TV show and I got to get on
that right now before it comes out because I need to know what happens. And
the final book that I want to get to before the end of the year is Artemis by
Andy Weir. I really enjoyed the Martian by him a couple of years ago. I was a
little put off by the science parts of it. Not to say like he should not do
that, but I'm just not very smart and so reading all the science stuff was
interesting but it got a little daunting after a while. However I did like really
enjoy the Ridley Scott movie with Matt Damon so I'm hoping once this comes out
that it will get picked up as well because I love a good space movie. You
know Alien's like my favorite. So this kind of follows an outlaw, I believe on
another planet, which is really interesting. So this comes out in like
two weeks from when I'm filming this so hopefully it'll be here soon. So that's
all the books that I want to read by the end of the year. It's not that many, I'm
hoping to get to a little bit more as long as I don't kind of veer off when
I'm going through the library to pick up something else. I've not had a great
reading month in October. A lot of books that I read were just kind of ok and not
that great, so I'm hoping November and December are my months and all of these
books are really good. But let me know what you guys are gonna read for the
rest of the year, if you read your Goodreads goal. I think I'm at like 120...
maybe less than that like maybe 109 or so for the year, which is surprising cuz I
really didn't think I was gonna get to read that much. But thank you guys for
watching, I will see you in the next video! Bye!
